Malasimbo Music & Arts Festival 2020
Coming to a brand-new location, Malasimbo is back to celebrate its 10th year running. This two-day, open-air event brings together local and international acts, revitalising the Philippines’ local music culture whilst being mindful of the environment.
From 2011-2018, the festival was held in the foothills of Mt. Malasimbo, which changed last year when it moved to a private nature reserve. The 2020 edition will see Malasimbo relocate once again, but this time to La Mesa Ecopark in Quezon City, where festival-goers will be able to participate in horseback riding, pool parties, yoga classes and even bungee jumping. This new venue has been praised as the best yet, partly as it’s a lot more accessible— so no need to take jeepneys up and down the mountain!
Malasimbo was created out of founder Miro Grgic’s passion for music, which is always reflected in the festival’s lineups. Over the weekend there will be performances from a range of DJs and live bands, including Mike Love (co-founder of the Beach Boys), Cory Henry and the Funk Apostles, Laneous, Anomalia, Uncomfortable Science and more. As it’s the 10th edition, naturally we’re expecting it to be the biggest and best Malasimbo yet!
