Giants Request Interview With Jason Garrett

According to Ian Rapoport, the Giants have requested an interview with Cowboys HC Jason Garrett

After the Panthers poached their top candidate, Matt Rhule, the Giants are now forced to turn their attention elsewhere to find their next head coach. Garrett is reportedly one of their top fallback options

Though the Cowboys have hired Mike McCarthy to be their next head coach, Garrett is still technically under contract in Dallas through January 14, meaning the Giants have to request permission from the Cowboys for an interview.

Garrett, 53, began his NFL coaching career with the Dolphins back in 2005 as their quarterbacks coach. After two years in Miami, the Cowboys hired him as their offensive coordinator and he eventually worked his way up to head coach.

Over the course of his 10 years in charge of the Cowboys, Garrett led the team to a record of 85-67 (55.3 percent), which includes three playoff appearances.

We’ll have more on the Giants coaching search as the news is available.
