3-to-inspire with Diane

Hi everyone, Diane here with another 3-to-inspire challenge for you! You can find this challenge here every Saturday for those who need a little extra creative push to get scrapbooking, to keep scrapbooking or for those who just like a challenge! Your take on this challenge can be a layout, Traveler's Notebook page or a pocket page spread in your Life Crafted and remember that you'll want to include all 3 prompts on your project.

Your prompts this week are:
  1. Create a rainbow
  2. Use border punches (or cut files, or distressing...)
  3. Stamp a title
Here’s my take on this challenge using the January Life Crafted kit ...

I started by creating two base pages for my Life Crafted album, both from white card stock sized at 5 x 8.25 inches. Then I choose 5 of the exclusive 6x8 papers to create my rainbow with. I'll admit, my interpretation of a rainbow is pretty loose, but I still love this colour scheme!

From each of the patterned papers, I cut strips that were 1 x 5 inches and then each strip got punched with my border punch. I carefully lined them up the page in rainbow order to make sure I had enough to cover the background (SPOILER: I did not have enough and had to cut more!). Once I knew I had the right number, I adhered them down.

I added my photo with a piece of craft foam for dimension and some vellum to tie in my journalling on the left hand page. Under my photo I added a label with the year stamped on it and a few puffy stickers for contrast.

I stamped my title using the Solid and Outline alpha stamp in 3 different colours. I stamped the outline in a darker shade and then filled in the letters with a lighter shade of the same colour. I then added a few smaller scraps of punched paper to the top and bottom to add some colour and tie the two pages together.

I stitched my journalling in place, as well as stitching around the edge of my layered page to secure all the strips firmly. And then I called my page done!

Here's a look at the process this spread took ...

Thanks for stopping by today and I'd love to see any page you create using this challenge so don't forget to tag me and share in the Citrus Twist Facebook Fan page!
