61st Street Farmers Market

With the assistance of an active group of volunteers, the Experimental Station launched the 61st Street Farmers Market in 2008. • Outdoor & Indoor Market

The market brings fresh, healthy foods to historically underserved Woodlawn and surrounding neighborhoods. By reducing barriers to accessing farm-fresh food, we are building a thriving local food community that supports Midwest growers, educates consumers, and is available to all.

  • Food Education

We believe ‘food access’ is a multidimensional problem that takes long-term investment to solve. Food education has been an ongoing effort to alter the purchasing behavior and food consumption patterns of Woodlawn’s low-income children, youth, and adults.

  • Vendors

All season long, we host between 25-30 vendors and farmers to sell their vegetables, fruits and produce. Check out more detail about our vendors.

  • Seller Training

Each year, Experimental Station selects 15 candidates for our Farmers Market Seller Training Program. We provide training and a basic understanding on how to sell at a farmers market.
