The Raven Chacon Mini-Festival at Toronto’s The Music Gallery runs from 12–14 April. Participating artists and musicians include Chacon, Laura Ortman, Suzanne Kite, Cheryl L’Hirondelle, C_RL (Allison Cameron, Nicole Rampersaud and Germaine Liu), Olivia Shortt, Carmina Escobar and the Array ensemble.

Saturday sees the world premiere of Chacon’s For Zitkála-Šá, a work dedicated to the Dakota violin teacher and activist, who was also the librettist of The Sun Dance Opera (1913) – the first American Indian opera.
