That doesn’t mean I ceased to exist, only to live.
Going where the job takes me and living in the shadows, with deadly accuracy I utilize the skills inherent to me, not knowing from where they came, not recalling what I’d lost.
And then I saw her.
Laurel Carlson.
I shouldn’t want her, desire her, or need her, yet with each sighting I know she is exactly what I have to have. Laurel has the ability to do what I thought was impossible. She sees what others don’t.
My gut tells me that it’s a deadly mistake to change my plans and open my world to her. My mind says she’ll be repulsed by my twisted existence.
None of that matters, because my body won’t take no for an answer.
I’ve made dangerous mistakes before.
This time, will the price be too high?

This books grabs you from the first page and doesn’t let go. There is mystery and intrigue upon mystery and intrigue and a relationship between Kader and Laurel unfolds amongst chaos and confusion. It is gripping and I had to read it in one day and now I have to wait, but I know it will be worth it.

The first part in Aleatha Romig’s new Tangled series called Twisted is a phenomenal book. From the way Laurel trust Kader even though we as a reader haven’t been told much about him. He is such an intriguing mystery that I can’t help but want to learn more about. Laurel is a doctor who gets sucked into this underground world, but at least she has Kader to protect her if anything happens. This is only the first part and I can’t wait to read how the rest of their story goes.

ღ TWISTED is the first instalment in Aleatha Romig’s new series

➳I don’t know about the other readers, but I felt like I was reading mystery psychological thriller from the first page. But at the same time, I felt like we were missing something if that makes any sense. The storyline is compelling enough to keep the pages turning at a rapid pace, & at those times when I couldn’t, still managing to inhabit my thoughts. I know we still have so much to uncover about these two in the upcoming books. So, I will definitely be reading the next book in this series. I believe that the next book will open my eyes more to understand Kader

Twisted is the first book in the amazing new Tangled Web series by Aleatha Romig. I was sucked in right from the start. This book grabbed me and didn’t let go. I love Kader and can’t wait to find out more of his back story. There are so many levels of twists and turns that they will keep you guessing throughout the whole book. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to find out what was going to happen next, yet when I got to the end I was desperately looking for more! I can’t wait for Obsessed!! Have you been Aleatha’d? I sure have!

Wow what a ride. Twisted is book 1 of the series and it is so Twisted. It is intriguing, suspenseful, sexy and definitely a page turner. I’m so looking forward to learning more about Kader, he’s damaged and intriguing. Laurel is so trusting of everyone, should she be trusting Kader? Can’t wait to read the rest of this series.

3.5 stars but 4 rated cuz my middle school teacher taught me how to round (she obviously never had to go through the pain of rating on Goodreads)

Being Aleatha Romig's fan I just couldn't miss this book. I love the suspenseful stories this author comes up with, I just love how intense they are and how many secrets lie in them.
Stunning story! Awesome dude!...not...-so-awesome heroine but still enjoyed the book

description

ARRRGH ARRRGH SPOILERS AHOY!!!⚓⚓⚓

Let's start with a brief intro of the characters.

THE H and h
Laurel (h): Laurel Carlson is a (PhD) doctor who has researched on how to fundamentally change ptsd with her colleagues (of course researches like these are always in danger) She is talented, exceptionally smart, and pleasant.

Kader (H): Kader is a dark, mystical and perilous man appointed by 'the underground' world for their savaged and noxious actions/duties. We don't find a lot about him in this book because he is just one of the best characters who can keep their personal lives a secret. But unlike other Aleatha Romig's heroes Kader doesn't act like a complete jerk [which THANK YOU Aleatha so much for]!

The Story
Laurel and Kader meet in a high-class banquet hall conference meeting. Kader is appointed there for Laurel where Kader politely threatens Laurel to discontinue her research, Laurel obviously refuses. Few days after this there are alarming incidents with Laurel and her colleagues; Russell, Stephanie and Eric. 'To protect' Laurel, Kader takes her and hides with her in an abandoned displeasing building.

The Chemistry+Story
Kader is supposed to be the villain in Laurel's life, he's supposed to stop her and her colleagues from releasing the medical research at any cost. Kader also has been stalking/observing her actions and routines for the past few months. But in the banquet hall when Kader makes eye-contact with Laurel he amazed by her confidence and beauty in person.

"Entering the banquet hall, I told myself she wasn’t different. And then she turned. I expected her to turn away just as quickly. It didn’t happen. From across the room our gazes met.

I gave her another chance to sense the reality of my nature. She was a woman alone in a dimly lit hall. Yet when faced with me, she didn’t blink. She didn’t frighten. She never looked away."

At that time Kader's feelings toward Laurel start to change. During their first encounter they both are attracted to each other.

"In a short time, I’d become addicted. Having her bright blue orbs looking at me was like a drug."

After the banquet hall rather than harming Laurel, Kader protects/saves her multiple times when multiple mysterious accidents happen.

What bugged me about this book was the heroine. Aleatha wrote a lot of wonderful heroines. But I couldn't make myself even like the heroine. The h is a bit boring and literally illogical (happy fact: it doesn't require having multiple doctorates to make a person logical) She shouldn't just go and blindly trust a random guy and give one of her colleagues her door key and behave as she doesn't know why people are trying to stop this research from coming out. But what covers my dislike for that is the Hero's POV and character.

This story is a bit different from most Aleatha Romig's books, sure it's romantic thriller/suspense but in this story from the beginning the hero's intentions/actions towards the heroine are positive (when they weren't supposed to be). I'll say that this story only makes a foundation for what's coming in the next 2 books where hopefully the hero's employers' identities, actions and crimes will be revealed. Plus sooo many more questions that I had for this book.

Overall i really enjoyed this book and shout outs for Aleatha for another great story!

Now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna go lock myself in the bathroom till the next book comes out.
Till then

3.5 “Intriguing” Stars

This was an interesting beginning. As with trilogies, plot lines need to be established in the first book and then liberties can be taken with book two and three. This author is the best at twists and turns so the possibilities are endless.

First, this story was packed with lots of information. There were times I thought too much that it made it hard for me to connect with the story and the characters. It was rather conflicting to me because I have always loved all of this author’s work. I did find that I enjoyed the second half of the book more as the suspense picked up.

So the main plot line is about groundbreaking medical research that can revolutionize PTSD. There is the good sweet doctor, Laurel, that doesn’t know that her research is in danger and feels her best inside a lab. There is an evil force that doesn’t want the research to come to fruition, enter Kader. But he has an underlying story that is intriguing and very mysterious. One that might involve Laurel from his past or not. But according to Kader, there are other forces trying to destroy the research. Essential to Laurel’s story is her partner in research Russell, Stephanie is her research assistant and Dr. Owen who is Dean of the university handling the research. Are these individuals good or bad, have they been persuaded by outside forces to aid in the destruction of the research or are the victims of these outside forces?

While Laurel and Kader have an instant connection when they first meet, I found their progression forced. There was one scene in particular that just didn’t make sense and felt placed for erotic/romantic effect. I would have preferred a slow buildup, one that built upon the situation, the fear, and the frustration of her world imploding around her. I found myself more vested in Kader than I did with Laurel because of her actions.

As with a good trilogy, book one ends with quite a statement. Though I could see it coming, it felt validated to hear from the character. I’m looking forward to seeing the twists and turns this author loves to do with her storytelling in book two. Nothing is ever straightforward which makes for a very interesting and bumpy ride.

-At the sight of her, the small hairs on the back of my neck stood to attention. It was as if she was electricity and I was the rod. My reaction was visceral, much as it had been the first time I'd seen her.

-I was mesmerized.

-In a short time, I'd become addicted. Having her bright blue orbs looking at me was like a drug.

-Having her look at me made me want the impossible.

Kader is a big, intimidating, dangerous man who had a reputation in the dark web for determining the destiny of others. He was a survivor and a hunter who never put himself in the spotlight, and preferred to live in the shadows. Nothing frightened him, and he had nothing to lose. He'd once paid the ultimate price and now has had a rebirth as an adult. The man he used to be no longer exists, and he goes where the jobs take him. He's skilled, lethal, always in control, and likes his anonymity. Then he decides to do something he's never done, and alter his plans. Dr. Laurel Carlson was only supposed to be a job, but he follows his gut instincts where she's concerned, and changes course with his assignment. He couldn't explain it, but something was different about her. He rarely crossed the boundaries he set for himself, but she was the exception to all his rules. He was fascinated with her, and for some unknown reason he trusted her.

Dr. Laurel Carlson lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, and spends her days in a lab trying to help others. She's a brilliant scientist who works for a university doing important trials and research. Her entire life is thrown into chaos when she crosses paths with a sexy, mysterious stranger that commands her attention with one look. He was beautiful, powerful, and dangerous, and she couldn't help how insanely attracted she was to him. It was crazy the way this man affected her, and there was something about him that was hauntingly familiar and unsettling. She couldn't stop thinking about him, and was drawn to him in a way she couldn't describe.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

-There was something about him.

-Power and control radiated from him in a way I'd never before sensed.

-Like a bolt of lightning, his gaze did something to me, twisting my mind as well as my body.

-I was drawn toward him. The more ruthless his kiss became, the more I wanted.

-The more he took, the more I wanted to give. My breath, my safety, my body- my destiny- they were all in his hands.

As Kader opens his world to Laurel he becomes more obsessed and intrigued by her. She was unaware of her beauty but confident in her intelligence. She believed in good, and he was surrounded by power, money, and evil. She see's what others don't and the more he tried to hide, the more she saw. He shouldn't want her so desperately, but the longer he's around her the more he desires her and feels the need to protect her.

Twisted is book one of the Tangled Web trilogy, an all new dark romance series by Aleatha Romig set in the same dangerous underworld as Secrets. It's a book full of danger, mystery, and intrigue. I really enjoyed this story, and look forward to getting more of the delicious, complicated Kader in Obsessed and Bound.

I really enjoyed this book. It's the first book in the Tangled Web series. From the very beginning the story have me hooked. I like Kader character straight away he was sexy and very mysterious. No one really knows who he is or what he does. The lil parts that we got from him doesn't tell us much but I liked that in a way. So I'm looking forward to getting to more from him and after the way this ended in dying to know more.

Doctor Laurel is a good character to. But very different she lives for her work and is great at it. But her job has just gotten very range and she isn't dealing very well. Her whole life is getting turned upside down. She doesn't know what right or wrong or who is good or bad. I do feel sorry for her but she is this gorgeous mysterious guy looking out for her so it can't be to bad right.

Like I said I was sucked into this story straight the drama goin on this book was crazy. Every page I turned something would happen. Both characters have me dying to know more about them and how there going to deal with what's happening. There are so many questions that need answering. I would highly recommend this book. The story is actions packed there isn't much romance but there is a lot of sexual tension between the two main characters throughout the whole book. I really am dying for more of this series.

I have been a longtime fan of Aleatha Romig since her Consequences series and most recently the Web of Sin series, so when I saw that she was writing another deliciously sexy suspenseful trilogy, I could not get aboard fast enough. Kader was so mysterious and compelling. I loved how drawn he was to Laurel without divulging his true intentions. What an amazing rollercoaster ride!

I enjoyed the suspense element and how Laurel and Kader met. And, while I loved their sizzling chemistry, I would have liked to have been given more of an emotional connection between them. Kader felt almost robotic at times and I missed a much-needed sense of warmth from him. I appreciate that he is mysterious, withdrawn and cold but for that to really work for me, I wanted more instances of seeing a crack in his icy facade or more flickers of humanity in him. Laurel was a gamechanger and an exception for him so seeing the emotional fallout from that would have taken this story to the next level for me.

All in all though, I thought this book was fantastic. I was on the edge of my seat reading this story and can't wait for more. 4 stars! ~Ratula

Suspenseful, dark, thrilling, sexy, oh, and TWISTED... you are going to LOVE the launch of this latest trilogy...

Laurel is a smart heroine--a researcher hoping to raise money to continue work on her PTSD drug. She and her partner are two halves of the formula. Without one of them, it can't be made... Then Kader shows up, dark and mysterious, telling her she has to shut it down.

Then it all gets super exciting, and there are other people who might not be all they seem. Who can you trust? Who is telling the truth???

I'm not telling you any more. lol!

Other than GO NOW and get this awesome book. You're going to be clicking at warp speed, gasping, and biting your nails, and you're going to LOVE every minute of it!!!!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

When I began reading this book I was in a hurry as I had been away from home for a whole week on a business trip and I had several ARCs to read in the span of a few days.

Hurrying in a book because you are on a schedule is so not the best way to experience a story and I try to avoid this pressure as much as I can in spacing the ARCs.

To say I was a little bit apprehensive is too weak and I dreaded giving the book a lower rating due to my mood.

BUT

I should have trusted Aleatha!

Because no later than 10 minutes in the book and I was totally immersed in that story, mixing the crime underworld with advanced medical research aiming at erasing PTSD biggest effects.

The hero is of course a commandeering alpha (we are with darker Aleatha here!) used to calculate his every move and always have the upper hand. Kader is …who I thought he would be (cryptic yes but Aleatha will understand from our chat some months ago) yet everything still remains to be revealed.

Even better, he has to realize many things about him! No telling more as I don’t want to spoil your fun! Just know that you won’t learn all his secrets in book 1 (where would be the fun otherwise, right?).

I just told you that Kader’s every move is calculated yet there is one woman, one assignment, who will totally derail his well thought plans: Dr Laurel Carlson.

I loved Laurel as she has such a brilliant mind! There is something highly attractive and satisfying when reading about extremely smart woman working in a very male and elitist field. Laurel has a huge capacity to analyze everything. She is dedicated to her research and is fundamentally good as she wants to help victims of traumatic events, not to forget what’s happened and have no fear at all because fear is useful, but to tone down the physical and physiological reactions. She wants victims to be able to live again and not being drowned in stress all the time!

I know Laurel is an attractive young woman but to me her brain was the sexiest part of her anatomy LOL

When they meet, the attraction will be immediate, surprising them both. Kader is used to control EVERYTHING, his body included, and it was highly satisfying to witness that hunk of a man just being human and having some basic physiological response when presented with the right stimuli as in Laurel’s sexiness!

The story evolved very quickly into thriller mode with enemies lurking in the shadows, bad people you had to hide from, murders and disappearances popping up faster than zits on a teenage boy’s face and dangerous men turned unexpected allies.

At the end of this first installment you have this big jigsaw puzzle that still remains to be solved and you just know that you will NEED to read the second and the third installment.

Pretty addictive read, highly intriguing with a big dose of hawtness!

Have you read Aleatha's books? Do you love Alpha heroes?
Thanks for reading!

Twisted is a spellbinding, intriguing and mystery story. The plotline really keeps my interest up that's why it's hard to put down. Kaden and Laurel's characters were engrossing and I felt as if I knew them by the end of this book but I was wrong. And because of that cliffy ending, questions that kept me wondering what's Kaden intentions in helping Laurel. Is he really helping her?

This is a clever, uniquely plotted story which I found this book thoroughly enjoyable. Well done Aleatha! I look forward to reading book 2 - Obsessed.

This is truly Twisted, Laurel is a Ph.D. a scientist that her and her partner/lover has discovered a possible new development that is the cutting edge, however its not yet made it to trials yet but is getting all the wrong attention. That is where Kadar comes in he is from Chicago dark underworld and is the wrong attention seek to destroy Laurel world. Make her an offer she can not refuse. So the journey begins with Laurel can't be bought and will not sell her new project to NO one. Now who side is Kadar on the job he was hired to do or the one that has caught his eye at his first sight the very distraction he doesn't need.

Aleatha has done it again mystery, sex, deception and of course a cliffhanger we all have to wait til next month to read. I can't wait!!!!!!

Twisted is the start of a suspense filled, dark romance that I quite enjoyed. I loved the dynamic between Kader and Laurel and the beauty and beast-ish as well as the nerd/jock vibes the story gave off. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and cannot wait to read the next rest of the series. I recommend to those who love dark romance with suspense.

Web of Sin introduced me to Aleatha Romig’s concise and succinct writing, making me fall in love with her thriller romances. Naturally, hearing she was creating a spin-off series left me excited! I didn’t assume a suspense narrative featuring an overload of information combined with a distinct lack of romance though; it took me longer to become invested in Twisted, but even with the inevitable ending and pieces of information, it didn’t increase my interest whatsoever.

In a short time, I’d become addicted. Having her bright blue orbs looking at me was like a drug.

Usually Aleatha Romig creates memorable heroines because they’re relatable. However, Laurel Carlson is different in vast measures—for someone intelligent she’s awfully gullible and irrationally far too trusting of someone who’s supposed to be dangerous, yet at the same time she’s somehow unsure of who she can trust. She’s blissfully unaware of the threats lurking within the shadows and that made her character an unfortunate issue.

I wanted her, to take her, to make her mine in every way. The need was painful, strong, and irrational.

Kader’s mysteriousness only lasted so long as it eventually became tiresome, overused and monotonous. I wasn’t riveted or enthralled or even interested in unravelling the secrets surrounding this anti-anti-hero because it took too long to start unveiling these hidden facets. I love a good, villainous anti-hero that eventually redeems himself, but Kader was straight away too good considering his mission.

The more he took, the more I wanted to give. My breath, my safety, my body—my destiny—they were all in his hands.

I’m sure there’s a connection between Kader and Laurel; I didn’t feel it or believe it though. Despite the strenuous and dangerous circumstances surrounding Laurel’s influential research, she’s easy to fall in lust with Kader. I understand sexual attraction and undeniable chemistry, even in questionable situations, but there’s a fine line between genuine and forced progression.

WOW, What a way to start the trilogy! I have to be honest here and say that I don't think I have read anything by Aleatha Romig that I didn't enjoy, this one not only had me interested right from the start but I really didn't want to put it down and if real life didn't interfere I probably wouldn't have.

Laurel Carlson is a scientist along with her partner they have come up with a compound which could help people suffering from PTSD. You would think this is a good thing but apparently it isn't.....

Kader, talk about a man of mystery! If you have read the Web of Sin trilogy you may know a bit about him if not, I'm not going to spoil anything.

This story was a bit of a rollercoaster ride for me, I was at the highest of highs when I though Kader and Laurel were finally getting somewhere and then I was dropped kicked all the way down to the bowels of hell when the cliffhanger happened. I have read some doozy of a cliffhanger but this one really takes the cake!

I really need to get my hands on the next book, Obsessed, because my mind is just reeling right now.

If you enjoy Dark Romance grab this book but as I mentioned it has a cliffhanger so you've been warned! Happy Reading!!!

The first book of this trilogy was very intriguing. The plot was well-endowed, the mystery waves reached high degrees, the characters were developed as much as the first part allowed.

Kader and Laurel’s chemistry was undeniable from the moment their eyes met. Although Kader was a very interesting character, I can not say the same for Laurel. She seemed in her own bubble and didn’t fully realise the existing reality.
Too many scientific data were provided throughout the story that became uninteresting, the suspense was high but not the romance.

Twisted is a sexy and thrilling launch to what looks to be a fantastic series. Aleatha Romig is a powerhouse when it comes to romantic suspense, and this book truly showcases her incredible storytelling skills. Kader and Laurel are two individuals caught in a web of danger while facing an inexplicable attraction to one another.

I felt each inch of his stare as it moved up my body. Like lasers they moved over me, seeing me, as if my clothes didn’t exist.

Romig is one of those rare authors who can blend suspense and romance flawlessly. Her writing is fantastic and she doesn't rely on generic tropes to pull the reader in. I love the way she laid out this story in a way that leaves the reader yearning for more. There was a depth to both the characters and the plot that sucked me into the story and never let up. There was a sizzling hot chemistry from two great main characters that was practically combustible.

I wanted her, to take her, to make her mine in every way. The need was painful, strong, and irrational.

I loved both Kader and Laurel’s characters. The dual POV hints at events from the past that I’m dying to learn more about. Their connection was a fierce one, with an attraction that felt more than just physical. As far as first meetings go, theirs was an intense one that I loved reading. Each and every encounter they had was sexually charged with a hint of danger, and those scenes really showcased Romig’s amazing writing.

The more he took, the more I wanted to give. My breath, my safety, my body—my destiny—they were all in his hands.

I pretty much loved everything about this book. The characters were intriguing and individually unique. The story line was intricate and engaging. The book’s ending had me itching to get my hands on the next book to find out how things will play out. This was a stellar story and I cannot wait for more.

Twisted (Tangled Web #1) by Aleatha Romig
4.5 stars
M/F Thriller, Romance
Triggers: Stalking, Murder
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

Laurel is brilliant. She is also somewhat shy. When she is approached during a less than exiting fund raiser, despite the warning bells that this person is probably dangerous, Laurel's reaction is more carnal.

Kader is used to taking jobs and going on to the next one. However, this one...this one is different. He can't seem to figure out why it's different, but with a past that he can't quite remember, something in this job is nagging him.

It's fast paced and you're constantly left wondering where it's going. You want Kader to be good, but know that deep down, he's a trained killer. You also want Laurel to be more than just a naive brilliant nerd.

Without giving too much away, this is a great start to the new series. I am so excited to see where Romig will take us. The journey has started with a bang and I hope that it pulls us along, answering and creating questions in future books.

~ 5 Twisted Stars ~

This might actually be my shortest review to date!! Not because I didn’t like this story, I LOVED it!!! It’s just that I can’t talk about anything from the book.

Twisted is the first book in Aleatha’s newest trilogy…Tangled Web Trilogy. I thought it set up the storyline perfectly. I loved the characters that are introduced in this story. I can’t wait to see where she takes them. I am sure it will be one heck of a rollercoaster ride.

The title of the book is spot on when it comes to this storyline. It is TWISTED. I don’t know if I would truly list this as a dark romance, but it definitely isn’t a light and fluffy story. This book had me scratching my head and I still am after reading this book. I don’t have a clue where Aleatha is taking this story.

One thing I will say about the book, is that is it NOT a standalone novel. It does end on a pretty brutal cliffhanger. I was screaming WHAT when I finished. I NEED the second book NOW!! So if cliffhangers aren’t your thing, you will want to wait until all the books are released. But make no mistake this is a trilogy you will want to add to your TBR list NOW!!!

Every Aleatha book I have read, just gets better and better. She is the queen of the mysterious and twisted story. I can never figure out where her stories are going and I absolutely LOVE that. I am captivated and intrigued all the way through. Her books are always a quick read for me because I can’t put them down. They also live in my head until I get my hands on the next one. Twisted was no different!!

Add this book to your list now. If you haven’t read anything by Aleatha Romig, you are missing out. You need to enter her world of writing. Trust me you won’t want to leave once you start!!!

Kader is a hunter, hired for an assignment he wouldn’t usually take but he made an exception...because of her, Laurel. He doesn’t know her or so he thinks but is drawn to her. “I’m the man who’s going to ensure you live to see the rest of today” Dr. Laurel Carlson is a brilliant doctor in pharmacology. While attending a fundraiser for research on a new drug she was creating she felt someone watching her. A Mystery Man of sorts that she felt drawn to and yet scared of at the same time. Who was he and what did he want? When her new drug formula is wanted by many, it could cause more danger to her than she ever thought possible. This is set in the same underworld as Secrets but you do not need to read the Web of Sin trilogy to read this new trilogy. This is a twisted, romantic suspense that you never truly know who you can trust. Told in dual POV and ends in a cliffhanger. I cannot wait for the next book to see what happens.

Great start of The Tangle Web series! Twisted is the first book in the Tangled web series, where we get to meet Kader and Laurel story.. a story that starts with a lot of darkness and suspense that will take you in a very twisted journey.

Laurel is a very successful woman, she is working on a project that is very important and is about to finally have the answers and results she has been looking for but not all people want the same thing, putting the research and Laurel in a very dangerous position. She doesn't know whom to trust anymore, she feels lost, perhaps the handsome man that she can't stop thinking about!?!

Kader a very enigmatic hero that we still getting to know. His background still unrevealed making him even more intriguing, he is a stranger to Laurel but something tells her there is more from him than the intense chemistry between them..

Twisted is a very suspenseful dark romance with a lot of mystery and chemistry from Kader and Laurel. I love Twisted, I think so far is the most suspenseful book I've read by Aleatha and I really enjoy it so much!

I can't wait to know what happens in Obsessed!!!!

I don't know why but this book feels different from Aleatha Romig. I am not saying that in a bad way at all. I loved it, I was addicted, I was caught in this web of a story. The difference? It felt more suspenseful, more crime driven, reminiscent of a James Patterson or John Grisham novel with a bit of sexy added.
Kader is a dark "hero" dark even for this queen of dark author.
Laurel she is a strong smart female that fear and confusion is making weak. She has her smarts but her emotions are a mess. Her world is being tossed and turned. She doesn't know who she should trust.
Kader is protecting her, he's keeping her safe. She was trusting him, a stranger and so was I.....
Until that final jaw dropping line!
Holy Crap I need the next book RIGHT NOW!! I don't know what the hell to think!!

Jess~

A cryptic beginning with tons of depth and intriguing characters.

This story unfolds in an intricate way. Little nuggets of information are shared as the story grows. There are still a lot of pieces not in place and of course I am chomping at the bit for more. Laurel is a smart character. She is a doctor working on research project that could one day change the face of medical practices. This research is her brain child and together with her partner it is getting closer to time when the big investors need to be brought in. To finish this project would be revolutionary, but at what cost?

Kader, dark and mysterious. He easily hides in plain sight, even with his domineering presence and intense eyes. He has a job, a plan, and he never deviates from the plan. That is until this job. There is something about it, something about her, something about himself that isn't coming together the way it should.

Well she did it again, Ms. Romig got me all wrapped up into the twisted and dark web of a story, only to drop a bomb at the end and leaving me with a bunch of possibilities for where the story might go. I was Aleatha'd yet again. If you don't know what that is, that means you have yet to experience one of her gems. It is a real thing, it is a feeling that is hard to put words but you know it is there.

OMG! I was Aleatha'd AGAIN!! Trust me I have my trusty Aleatha book flow chart all up and running for this series. I mean come on with a series title Tangled Web you know its going to be needed. Twisted is truly one heck of a twisted web of secrets and this was just book 1. Twisted was the perfect setup to the Tangled Web series. You have so many questions thrown at you and you just want to know what is going on. Just when you are given 1 answer you are given even more questions.

Dr Laurel Carlson is working a big super secret medical breakthrough that EVERYONE wants either a part of, to take over, or to stop the research all together. While at a dinner for the research in walks sexy mysterious Kader, yes a hot sexy alpha who goes by ONE name..swoon. Kader is there to protect Laurel and her research, but as you know NOTHING in Aleatha's books are as they seem or are they?

So before I give anything way.... JUST run and 1-click this book. You won't be disappointed. You will be sucked right in at the first paragraph and counting down to the new book release by the very last paragraph.
