Inter will meet with the wife/agent of Inter captain Mauro Icardi either tomorrow or Wednesday to continue talks over a new contract according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.
Talks have been ongoing for some months now and things have recently went sour with Icardi’s wife/agent Wanda Icardi going public about the current state of negotiations.
The Rome based newspaper say it is no coincidence that Icardi kept himself out of the spotlight and did not partake in any post-match interviews given the past few days where he himself came out and blasted reports commenting on negotiations.
It is understood that the demands of Inter’s talisman are in or around the €9 million mark, a rich salary that would bring his salary in line with other top players in Serie A like Gonzalo Higuain. Inter are not so keen to match his demands however as per various reports as it would mean him almost doubling his current salary.
