SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. — Sullivan County law enforcement believe that 15 month old Evelyn Boswell is in imminent danger.
According to Sullivan County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer, Capt. Andy Seabolt, Evelyn has not been seen since December 26th.
"The day before yesterday a family member of this missing child reported in a department of children's services referral about the child being missing," said Seabolt.
Police said the disappearance of Evelyn Boswell is complicated.
News Five asked why the parents did not notify police earlier that their child was missing.
"Were trying to determine all those facts as to why there was a lapse in time in the child being reported missing," he said.
An AMBER alert was issued Wednesday night for Evelyn Boswell after police said the criteria for the AMBER alert was met.
“Right now we’re not sure of her exact location. It could be anywhere from what we know. We’re conducting the investigation, and obviously we’ve been talking to as many people as we’ve come in contact with that knew about the child. We have several others we will be speaking with as well, and we’ve also been receiving some leads we’ve been following up on... We want to know why the child was not reported missing earlier."
The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office said the child’s mother, Megan "Maggie" Boswell, has been involved in the investigation along with the father, Ethan Perry, who is active duty in the U.S. military, stationed in Louisiana.
Evelyn Boswell is 24 inches tall and weighs 28 pounds. She also has blue eyes.
