Trey (7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes Book 7)

Trey and Mia have an interesting adventure on their way to discovering their love in Trey, book seven in the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes series, written by Christie Ridgway. Each book is part of the series but is a standalone story. As the oldest Trey, the family fixer, values family above all else; so in order to end his parent’s separation he flies to Paris to talk to his mother. Arriving in Paris he finds his mother missing and one of her neighbors, Mia, in charge of taking care of him. After the unexpected death of Mia’s best friend, Nic, and she is in Paris to check off items on a Paris bucket list. Trey has always been all work, no play; or as former girlfriends have accused him, married to his job. However Mia entices him to join her on this journey; exploring the streets and sites of Paris. When a family secret is revealed, Trey is at a loss and needs to decide what kind of man he really wants to be. Mia brings fun to Trey’s life; he calls her his mermaid or fairy or other imaginative name, because she takes him out of his comfort zone and taking a chance on enjoying life. One thing I loved about this story is how Mia hears Nic voice and thoughts in her head. Ms. Ridgway had a theme for Trey and Mia that they both avoided love; Trey because of family demands, Mia due to the example her parents set, or didn’t set for her. Yet, two people who avoided love found themselves falling in love at first sight. Ms. Ridgway wrote a tale rich with sexual chemistry, humor, tearful moments, and endearing characters giving Trey and Mia a chance for happiness, love and a lifelong future together. I definitely recommend Trey to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This series was everything I could have wanted and OMG...I certainly didn’t see this coming... Trey, the eldest Blackthorne son has been elected to go to Paris and see if he can talk to their mother and get to the bottom of the secret that has torn his parents apart and been the underlying story in all the books...what he doesn’t expect is to meet a woman...Mia Thomas...who shows him that life is worth living out in the world instead of behind a desk. Can Trey learn what the secret is about, convince his mother to return to the states and to his father? Will he and Mia open up their hearts to each other and find their HEA or will it all turn to ashes?
