CLIFFHANGER! CLIFFHANGER!!! CLIFFHANGER!!!!!!!! Nobody told me it was a freaking CLIFFHANGER!!
I want to hurt someone right now, violently I might add.
Throughout the novel I had my head in the clouds with a goofy smile on my face to be crushed badly at the last 98%; 98%!
I finished it in one setting, it was that good!
I loved loved ❤this book but I won't wish anyone to read it without the second part because I just got an ARC for this and the wait for the next book might end me.
Don't get me wrong it was a fabulous story❣ I loved in more than one ways, Ms. Bromberg making us enchanted with her magic again, But the cliffhanger makes you want to rip your hair out of your head.
To the author I want to say - You are a fucking Genius 👏👏👏👏

This book. OMG y'all!!! This. Book.

This was one of the most delicious enemies to lovers books I've read in a while. I can't even. Still can't even. It was just that satisfying.
I've been a long time fan of K. Bromberg, but I never expected her to write THIS level of alphahole. But not only did she, but she made me fall head over ovaries for the man, all logic forgotten.
Now let's talk about this for a hot second, because I will say that if serious alphaholes aren't your jam, this book isn't for you, my friend. But this girl? Devoured it with the type of fangirling glee that this author seems to bring out in me. GAH!
Rycker Lockhart is a devastatingly handsome and incredibly successful divorce attorney. He's cold, ruthless and all business. He learned early on that women are a complication that he doesn't need beyond a night. He's also the demanding client of a secret escort service that caters to the rich and power hungry.
The heroine is the owner of the escort service that's doing what she needs in order to get something that means the world to her with all the odds stacked against her. She's tough as nails yet with a core of vulnerability that I couldn't help but connect to immediately. This is a woman that has no problem being the first to say no to Ryker, who's none too pleased to hear it. But then he makes her an offer that she'd be insane to turn down.
The story is one big power play in motion and I for one devoured it. The constant push and pull, back and forth, cat and mouse game that these two had going utterly owned and captivated me. I couldn't get enough of it, no matter how frustrating it got. It was just so delicious. UGH.
Ryker is almost maddening in the games he plays. The man is ruthless with a capital R. This is no knight in shining armor. This is a man with some demons and an ice wall around his heart. I was completely enraptured by him. As much as he frustrated me at times, I still couldn't get enough of him.
The characters are multilayered and the author peels back their layers page by page, until you're ravenous for more. They both have so much depth, which I seriously loved. It's so much more than a power play between a ruthless man and a desperate woman. There's plenty of secrets and twists that will keep you glued to the pages. And then that ending!!! I. DIE. I need. NEED the next book desperately!!!

The idea of the story was cute, but the plot caused me a lot of eye rolling (a man who does not believe in relationships, but an encounter with the heroin and he becomes a love sick puppy 🙄).
Plus, the plot wasn't interesting enough to make me want to listen to the second book, so unfortunately (well, not really) I'm stopping here... but what bothered me the most was that there were holes in her story and things that didn't work out in his story. 😬
In conclusion, the book had potential, but it was not my cup of tea. Maybe if it was one book and not a duet, I would be able to connect to it more than I did... 💜

Well this was a sexy,intense and emotional read, I enjoyed most of it!The beginning was intresting and I was intrigued!
Vaughn and Ryker have a unique connection.I liked the relationship between these two!They were passionate,flirty and sensual.
The romance is addictive in this story and the ending make me crave for more!I really can't wait to see what will happen next.Resist has a little bit of everything,tension, angst,hot moments and a sexy hero!

My first thought after finishing this book is that I need book 2 ASAP! Holy mother of all endings! That can't be what really happened. I know there has got to be more to what us as readers are led to believe but I need to learn the truth now. And I need to learn how Vaughn is going to escape unscathed.
Man, I felt like Vaughn was walking on the very edge of a cliff the whole time. All it would take was for someone to learn her secrets and just tap her right off the cliff. She has so much riding on her secret life that it makes you wonder if it was worth it. I kept waiting for the bomb to drop.
Ryker is tough. He's kind of a jerk but you can see beyond that to what he and Vaughn can be if he doesn't ruin everything. I'm the sucker over here wanting these two tough-as-nails characters to soften each other up and live happily ever after but I know they are going to take a beating first. Frankly, I'm loving every bit of it. I can't wait to read the second installment.

I was so excited to read and review the first installment of the Wicked Ways series and did it ever deliver. I loved the characters, Ryker and Vaughn, two people who are independent and strong-willed find their way towards each other in an unconventional way.
Both are fighting the chemistry that is undeniable, and the tension is off the charts.
Vaughn has a goal with a purpose and time is not on her side. She runs a successful business and she is laser focus on elevating her operations. Ryker becomes a client and she finds herself uncomfortable with his assertiveness and intensity. Vaughn sees Ryker as a distraction and tries to dissuade him from pursuing her, but he is finding her to be a challenge that he wants to chase.
He is discovering in his pursuit that Vaughn has secrets which draw him further into her orbit. There are also forces around them that want them apart which only heightens the tension between them.
This story has a cliffhanger and it is a biggie!!! I cannot wait for next installment to see how this unravels.

K. Bromberg continues to amaze me each time I read one of her addictive stories. I always seem to fall head-over-heels with every character the author creates.
Vaughn has secrets and she is determined to resist and to keep hotshot high-powered divorce attorney Ryker Lockhart at arms length and to keep her plan on track without making it more complicated. But Ryker has other ideas and won't leave her alone. Determined to win her over, he breaks down her defenses and fights for her trust. The only thing Vaughn didn't prepare for was going weak in the knees over this arrogant man who threatens not just her heart, but the life she is fighting so hard to create…
Ryker Lockhart is just down right yummy and Vaughn is a strong, driven and admirable heroine. The passion and fire between them is intense and scolding.
”Ryker.” It’s just my name. Not Mr. Lockhart. Just Ryker. The name I”ve wanted her to call me, and yet when she does, there’s a vulnerability to it that does sh@t to my insides. It makes a man whose heart is cold and dead flicker to life. »
Resist has the perfect mixture of hotness, romance, love with a dose of realism. The writing is beautiful as always and the story itself is definitely an enticing one. I loved both of these characters and found myself completely lost in their story. I liked almost everything about this book…except for its cliffy that made me desperate to read the next book in the series!

Female narrator – 1 cringeworthy Star
Story – 2.5 Eyerolling Stars
They are both alphas. He’s more than a little bit of an asshole. She’s more than a little bit bitchy. Their power struggle had me more than a little bit annoyed and frustrated.
To be fair, I probably would have found more tolerance for the story if the female performer didn’t narrate most of the story. Her breathy/hitching performance did not fit the story (I don’t think it would fit any story. It’s too irritating). Thankful someone decided to replace her in book 2, so I will continue the series and see if my opinion of the H and h change.

A Twisted Tale of Sex, Lies and Secrets
I liked the varying storylines within the book. The characters were well developed and believable. The story opens with Vaughn Sanders who goes by Vee in her business as a Madam. She runs an escort service in order to pay off medical bills she ran up while trying to save her drug addicted sister who eventually committed suicide. She wants to get custody of her niece with Downs Syndrome but needs financial stability before the Government will consider it.
Vee threatens a Senator with blackmail photos after he roughs up one of her escorts and then ends up having to take her place the following night with a new client named Ryker. Ryker is a powerful divorce attorney who only represents rich men. He doesn’t believe in love or marriage and only wants a smart and beautiful woman for business dinners and sex.
Ryker pretty quickly figures out that Vaughn is hiding things and leading a double life but us intrigued by her and wants to know her, so he wants to keep seeing her. Vaughn doesn’t want anyone knowing her personal life and she is also remembering things from her past. There are also some side storylines about Rykers previous relationship, one about the father of Vaughn’s niece and some other characters pop up that seem integral to the story.
Overall it is a good book and I am excited to see how much of it is brought forward into the next one. This is book one so there is a cliffhanger at the end and multiple questions left standing so I would like to read the next book to see what happens.

I hate f..ing cliffhangers.

I love when an author brings power into the story. Power is a delicate balance between people. Some think they have it and want to force it on you. Some people really do have it and know how to use it.
I kind of have mixed feelings about this book. On one hand, I loved the amazing craftsmanship the author developed putting the story together. On the other hand, the title kept popping back into my head over and over as she kept fighting him and resisting the fact they actually had something positive going. It became frustrating in certain points.
The story is unique and I really appreciate when a female lead is strong and resourceful. He could be a jerk but on the other hand found something intriguing and very sexy in her. Together, you know they could do wonderful things.
But again the title pops into my head. Resist is her mantra and we spend most of the book resisting his advances. And maybe that’s a good thing even though it’s frustrating. Because the ultimate low blow is the freaking cliffhanger.
It’s disturbing. It’s frustrating. It’s exhausting. It’s emotional.
Like I said I have a love-hate relationship with this book. Definite mixed feelings as to whether I can manage to hang on for the next edition. I hate cliffhangers.

The story is unique and I really appreciate when a female lead is strong and resourceful. He could be a jerk but on the other hand found something intriguing and very sexy in her. Together, you know they could do wonderful things.
But again the title pops into my head. Resist is her mantra and we spend most of the book resisting his advances. And maybe that’s a good thing even though it’s frustrating. Because the ultimate low blow is the freaking cliffhanger.
It’s disturbing. It’s frustrating. It’s exhausting. It’s emotional.
Like I said I have a love-hate relationship with this book. Definite mixed feelings as to whether I can manage to hang on for the next edition. I hate cliffhangers.

Loved it!! Another fantastic read from one of my favorite authors!
Vaughn and Ryker sizzle in this hot new romance com K. Bromberg! There’s no doubt about their undeniable chemistry, but what truly won me over and this unexpected romance was Vaughn’s niece! Cute kids are SO my kryptonite!!

Powerplay ⭐️
I really need to pay closer attention to the arcs I’m requesting. Sometimes I see a great author and ask for the book by default. In this case, I’m a bit sorry I did it, just because the story isn’t that appealing to me.
The heroine is this Madam, owner of an escort service company by day, waitress by night and also fighting for her niece’s custody.
The hero is a ruthless divorce attorney by day and client of Wicked Ways - the escort company by night.
Due to an unfortunate event between one of the working girls and a Senator, the Madam is forced by a contract to “entertain” our hero. That’s how it all starts.
Now here’s the thing. The relationship between them is one big power powerplay. They’re blackmailing each other, keep things from each other, he pays for her company and so on. I didn’t find one thing to like about all this. None. I didn’t totally dislike the characters, but the story itself left me with a meh feeling. And the cherry on top:
I’m not even a little bit curious about what’s next. 😔

Keeping this short and sweet, because for one, if you've read K. Bromberg, you know exactly what you are going to get when you read her magic, Sweet and addictive. And another reason this one is short, the ending left me speechless. BUT I won't lie, the cliffy in this one, killed me!!! I need the next book NOW pretty please......

I suspected this was going to be an emotional journey but I didn’t have a clue it was going to take me on such a ride that my heart would be cracked open, healed a bit, and then cracked open again even more viciously leaving me in a puddle of pain and despair.
Vaughn runs an escort service that caters to wealthy men who need a bit of arm candy and a little something more. While she doesn’t hesitate to step in when one of girls needs her, she doesn’t personally “date” clients. That is, until everything goes belly up and she’s left scrambling to keep an important new client, one who can escalate her relatively new business. Even so, she should stay behind the scenes, except this particular client challenges her, causing her hackles to rise until she finds herself setting up the date as an alternate persona.
Ryker is a cold, hard, a hole of a lawyer. He’s deserving of his reputation and utilizes it. But after a relationship left him fed up with the lies that women tell, he decides a permanent escort is the way to go. But when the woman he’s chosen is unable to attend their date, he finds himself in a telephone confrontation with the owner. She has a take no prisoner attitude and refuses to meet his challenge, leaving him to meet a replacement for the evening. And then things get interesting.
”Ryker.” It’s just my name. Not Mr. Lockhart. Just Ryker. The name I”ve wanted her to call me, and yet when she does, there’s a vulnerability to it that does sh-t to my insides. It makes a man whose heart is cold and dead flicker to life.
Both Vaughn and Ryker intrigued me. Vaughn, living many lives at once, suddenly finds them all colliding even as her murky past raises its head to taunt her with memories long forgotten. She’s an emotional mess and with each revelation into her character my heart cracked a little more. Despite her tough exterior, inside she is broken, scared, vulnerable, and hopeless. But she refuses to give up. Vaughn is definitely the center point of the story as she battles her past, her present, and is reluctant to look towards the future.
This was momentous.
This was something I didn’t expect, but now…now the one thing I would have thought could never happen – my two worlds melding – just did, and the earth didn’t stop spinning. It didn’t even stutter unless you count the way my heart did watching the ruthless lawyer become a gentle giant with the one person I love more than anyone or anything.

Ryker (love the name!) had his own issues, but they weren’t anything in comparison to Vaughn’s. He’s actually that hero who just doesn’t recognize what it is he’s feeling and so he tends to act out, inflicting pain when that really wasn’t his intention. At times I wanted to smack him upside the head and yet there were times where I just wanted to sit him down for a good talking to. He was kind of clueless, but very real and relatable. And his interactions with a young Down syndrome girl is absolutely swoony. As for those jealous/possessive tendencies I love in a hero – there were just enough moments for him to shine in that regard.
”I don’t like him.”
She laughs and rolls her eyes. “You’re jealous?” she asks as if I’m crazy.
Not jealous. Just making sure he knows what’s mine.
Together, this couple were alternately gasoline and matches or vinegar and oil. Every scene is laced with heavy emotion and so much angst that there were times I had to set this story aside so I could give my poor heart a rest from the workout they were giving it. But I couldn’t stay away for long as Vaughn’s pain and Ryker’s need kept pulling me back into the story. While this is a lengthy book, every beautifully written word is necessary to the story.
I knew this was going to be a cliffhanger but holy Hades, Ms. Bromberg gutted me with this ending! I am in serious, DESPERATE, need for the next book and I’m seriously not sure how I can read anything else until I get it. This story is going to leave you stewing, biting your nails, bouncing your leg and cursing the author until we get book 2!

Holy moly that was good! Vaughn is AH=MAZING. She is getting sh!t done the fastest way she can, while keeping her worlds separate. Then, BOOM, Ryker walks into her life and nothing stays where it's supposed to. Ryker was a real dick, but Vaughn and Lucy wiggled their way into his system and he loosened up. That cliffy tho????? I can't believe I have to wait!!!

Omg RESIST was infuriatingly delicious. Steamy, sexy and emotional. I have never met a more stubborn couple from Kristy’s. None after Driven I mean. I wanted to throw my kindle to the wall with the mess of emotions inside of me. Kristy makes you engage in the story and go from feeling ache, furious, powerful and burning to crying, swooning and blushing. All at onces.
We have two powerful characters.
Ryker Lockhart is a very successful divorce attorney in New York. He is a cut throat man. A very sexy, sensual and desirable man. A man that knows what he wants and how to get it. He is a real life SHARK. He is not into love, just passion, desires and how to keep been on the top of his game. Or so he thought.
Vaughn Sanders is a well known woman among her crowd. She is strong, resilient, beautiful, intelligent woman. She has some secrets and have struggled so much in her life. This life has make her the woman she is now. A woman that would do anything for her love ones and will never let a man put her down. Her walls are up and ready until she comes across a certain man that will claw and crumble them.
The bickering and banter between Ryker and Vaughn was INSANE. They drove me nuts but in a good way. The type that has you on the edge of your sit waiting for what’s next.
Two powerful, controlled and successful people trying to push each other bottoms. At some point I wanted to punch them both in the face for been a pain in my behind. Then they come and finally surrender to each other. Have this AMAZING connection and made me melt for them. The passion they ignited was incredible. Their love is the forever kind but this two will have many obstacles between them.
After that CLIFF at the end, I almost had a heart attack. Now I’m DYING for book 2. Counting the days for it. If you like passionate and intense reads you definitely will love RESIST.

Well what can I say, this book kinda had me hook line and sinker! I enjoy all of Kristy's books but Resist is a change to her writing style from the last few books she has released. For me it is on par with The Player Duet and the Driven Series in that the content felt more mature, raw and gritty a little more down and dirty.
Ryker is the Hero, a talented, hard ass, successful divorce attorney who only represents the men of the relationships. He has made a name for himself and works hard for his success, an Alpha male who knows what he wants and takes it. He requests the company of an escort service to be on hand for events as and when needed, which is run by the heroine. Events occur prior to his first meeting with his chosen escort that leave our heroine Vaughn taking her employee's place and meets Ryker as Saxony. During their first encounter all does not quite go to plan and so starts a game of cat and mouse so to speak, but this mouse has a sharp bite and she can fight back!
Vaughn is the Madam of an escort service and a waitress at a high end club for the wealthy, working hard to pay her debts for someone near and dear to her heart. I loved Vaughn because she is a heroine with a huge heart and the lady balls to back it up. A woman who has spirit and fight, a woman who doesn't let the Alpha men drown her in the pool of sharks she is trying to stay afloat in. Even when she begins to fall below the surface she holds her chin high and I admire that in her.
Both Vaughn and Ryker have a lot of walls to break down, and secrets they hold. Ryker is a man who expects his money and demeanour will grant him what he wants and is used to having it this way, he is a man who does not expect to find love. He see's sex as a pleasure, a need and nothing more after being burned by a woman he thought he could call his own; that is until Vaughn.
Vaughn herself has a past full of hardships that she slowly reveals to Ryker. Meeting Lucy was a stand out aspect of this novel, she is an important part to the story and certainly someone special, providing a levity to the story when it's needed.
I enjoyed the chemistry between Ryker and Vaughn, the back and forth resistance they both show to yield to the others demands built tension. Both characters for me came across as multi faceted and seeing the softer sides of Ryker come through *swoon* there certainly is a hard and a soft to that man! However that ending OMG! I mean there are plenty of ups and downs in the novel as it is but just when you get comfortable with where book 1 is tying up you get kicked in the gut! I am a fan of cliffhangers (I'm a sucker for emotional torture) and this delivered, September seems so far away right now; but I know it's going to be worth the wait.
This duet may well become one of my favourite Kristy stories to date and I am looking forward to reading others thoughts on the duet, because I for one think this was a book people will talk about.

The unexpected.
I’ll start off by saying that I’m not usually a fan of the cliffhanger thing. I almost always feel like the story could easily be told in one offering and the multi-book installments mean I’ve probably lost interest by the time I finally get to the end.
That being said, I enjoyed every moment I spent with Vaughn and Ryker, Part One.
Vaughn, or Vee as she’s known to her clients, has found herself in the unique position of being a high class madam for all of the right reasons. Ryker has found himself in the not so unique position of procuring the services of a high class madam for all of the easy reasons.
I have to be honest and say that even though Ryker’s interactions with Vaughn didn’t always sit well with me, I was always entertained and engaged.
The ending was a killer for me and I know somehow everything’s going to be explained away, but these two still have a rocky road ahead of them.

When I first started reading this book I have to say I did not think I would like the book, but not only did I like the book...I loved it. The ending left you wanting more and hanging on to find out more. I will have to read book two. There was so much in this book. I won a kindle edition of this book from a goodreads giveaway, but this review is 100% my opinion of the book.

What an amazing read! Prepare for an emotional roller coaster ride filled with ALL THE FEELS! Ryker is an arrogant antihero you’ll love to hate, then falls in love when he meets his match. Vaughn is sassy, independent and strong. Their banter and scorching hot chemistry will grab and hold on to you until the end. Holy smokes that ending!!!! I’m begging for more! I can’t wait to read Reveal!

4.5 'The unexpected' Stars!

I am always in the mood for whatever K. Bromberg writes. The woman and her stories just do it BIG TIME for me and now I can confirm Resist was no exception to that. This definitely has Kristy's style all over it but again she managed to give us another unique love story and outstanding main characters. And let me tell you, Ms. Bromberg I hope you work hard on giving us Reveal soon because I simply can't after that freaking cliffhanger: I need the second book yesterday!!
Resist is Kristy's upcoming release and it's the first installment in her Wicked Ways series / duet. It tells the story between Ryker Lockhart and Vaughn Sanders, two people from very different worlds that crash when they lay eyes on each other. Their start is rocky and difficult, with obstacles along the way but still with a whole lot of chemistry and feelings. Both are not decided to fall in love, they want to focus on their very important aims but, of course, love will be stronger than that.
"A real boss knows she has to get her hands dirty when need be... and I'm all for dirty, Vee."
What a fresh theme on this story! This is not the typical billionaire falling in love with a woman who apparently does not belong in his world, it is so much more. Vaughn is a strong woman, ready for anything and decided to do whatever necessary to get her life back. Ryker is reserved (especially when it comes to relationships) and focused on being the best divorce attorney but he gets in Vee's way when he becomes a client of her business and it becomes extremely difficult not to mix business with pleasure.
This man in particular knows too much about me. He sees me too well. He makes me feel when I don't feel.
There's so many layers to these two characters and I loved slowly pealing them and seeing them vulnerable. Their chemistry is beautiful, explosive and unstoppable and you'll love to see read this couple's journey to love. It's not easy but it never is! But trust me, it's so worth it. Ryker and Vaughn together are just to die for and I can't wait to read more. Again, Kristy give us Reveal soon because I am dying, woman!

I am always in the mood for whatever K. Bromberg writes. The woman and her stories just do it BIG TIME for me and now I can confirm Resist was no exception to that. This definitely has Kristy's style all over it but again she managed to give us another unique love story and outstanding main characters. And let me tell you, Ms. Bromberg I hope you work hard on giving us Reveal soon because I simply can't after that freaking cliffhanger: I need the second book yesterday!!
Resist is Kristy's upcoming release and it's the first installment in her Wicked Ways series / duet. It tells the story between Ryker Lockhart and Vaughn Sanders, two people from very different worlds that crash when they lay eyes on each other. Their start is rocky and difficult, with obstacles along the way but still with a whole lot of chemistry and feelings. Both are not decided to fall in love, they want to focus on their very important aims but, of course, love will be stronger than that.
"A real boss knows she has to get her hands dirty when need be... and I'm all for dirty, Vee."
What a fresh theme on this story! This is not the typical billionaire falling in love with a woman who apparently does not belong in his world, it is so much more. Vaughn is a strong woman, ready for anything and decided to do whatever necessary to get her life back. Ryker is reserved (especially when it comes to relationships) and focused on being the best divorce attorney but he gets in Vee's way when he becomes a client of her business and it becomes extremely difficult not to mix business with pleasure.
This man in particular knows too much about me. He sees me too well. He makes me feel when I don't feel.
There's so many layers to these two characters and I loved slowly pealing them and seeing them vulnerable. Their chemistry is beautiful, explosive and unstoppable and you'll love to see read this couple's journey to love. It's not easy but it never is! But trust me, it's so worth it. Ryker and Vaughn together are just to die for and I can't wait to read more. Again, Kristy give us Reveal soon because I am dying, woman!
Sometimes it's the ones you wait forever for who mean the most.
Therefore, I am rating Resist with 4.5 STARS because I simply adored this couple and their fascinating love story. Holy mother of all things irRESISTible! This book was an emotional roller-coaster galore and I assure you: you don’t want to RESIST it.
I simply couldn’t put it down. Swallowed it in one sitting. So captivating, intense and angsty, but at the same time very emotional and heartfelt. The writing was impeccable as I’m used to expecting from Kristy Bromberg and it gave me ALL THE FEELS I’m looking for in a book. Romance, steam, passion, fights, drama, witty exchanges are only a few of the ingredients in this explosive, emotional concoction. Add to that an irRESISTible hero and you’ve got the full package. Pun intended!
Ryker Lockhart was simply sex on a stick. He was exactly the bad boy type of guy I usually fall for.
As a high-powered divorce attorney the man was used to getting his way. He exuded confidence and strength and he sure knew what he wanted. He was also a bit aloof and brooding which made his character even more intriguing.
He was that grad A jerk with a big heart that you simply couldn’t RESIST. He screamed trouble but he had his soft side that peaked under and was swoon-worthy.
Vaughn Sanders was his match made in heaven. Sassy, defiant, independent and ambitious. Typical Bromberg heroine.
To be honest, I wasn’t expecting her backstory. It threw me for a loop, but then again she was such a complex character, with so many layers to be revealed. Her past was really emotional and poignant. A tangled web of events that she was really trying to work through and she was doing the best she could, so I admired her for that. She was a strong, confident woman on the outside and a very vulnerable one on the inside, which made her all the more realistic.
Their power fights were very sexy and witty. Both trying to get the upper hand, both wanting to pull the reigns and be ahead of the game. I wanted to strangle them at some places for their stubbornness and pigheadedness. But it was kind of fun to watch them try to one-up each other.
The attraction and chemistry between them were combustible, although they were trying to RESIST it every step of the way.
But the RESISTance was futile. And when they finally succumbed to their passion, everything exploded.
I loved the hot steamy parts, the gut-wrenching ones, even the slower very sweet and romantic parts. But I have to say, most of all I enjoyed this whole push and pull thing going on between them. They drove me completely insane at some places. There were some moments I wanted to slap them and shake them hard for not seeing the good thing right in front of them, but this is one of Kristy's strengths – to write intense, heartstopping, nailbiting scenes. She definitely delivered the gamut of emotions with this book.
And holy hell! The ending was the cherry on the cake. Buckle up and hold on to your Kindle tightly, cause you may wanna throw it against the wall. I kid you not. I wasn’t expecting this turn of events, but now I can’t wait for the next book to see how they are going to settle this whole mess they got themselves in and what would be REVEALed.
Emotional, intense, steamy, angsty, and with lots of twists and turns along the way, this book was one of the best I‘ve read by Kristy and a top one for 2019.
Do not try to RESIST it! Grab your copy and enjoy the ride.

Resist is that book, the kind you want to stay up late and binge read as you fight yourself to take it slow and savor each page. It's the unexpected: where the characters become the game changers, the story becomes unpredictable and all the words keep you glued to your seat as you hang on to every emotion, every word, every heart pounding and breathless moment! Author K. Bromberg delivered one of my top reads of 2019!

From the first pages, I was sucked into their world—one that’s not mainstream. One that pits two strong minded, dominant personalities against each other. And get ready for the fireworks that fire off when Ryker and Vaughn get together.
Their romance and relationship is rife with challenges, intrigue, and innuendos. And dead sexy too. I loved their banter, their snark, their inability to stay away from each other. Their fierce protective natures. And their passion.
Resist does end on a cliffhanger. But I’m hanging on with both hands because I cannot wait to see what happens next in Reveal. ~ Missy, 4.5 stars

I have been a huge fan of K. Bromberg since Driven and love that whatever genre she writes in, her passion and dedication to her characters is always evident. We see what's in their hearts and feel the emotional connection between her characters. Vaughn and Ryker was one of these couples. I enjoyed their banter and physical chemistry and the twists and turns of the story!
I enjoyed Resist and the spirited relationship between Vaughn and Ryker. Vaughn had sass and was so determined to stay strong and look in control. Ryker had a similar personality which left me feeling frustrated at times. This story felt like two alphas going head to head who were so worried about looking strong that they failed to see what was in front of their faces the entire time.
All in all this wasn't my favorite read by this author but I am invested and I can't wait for book two! 4 stars ~Ratula

That was until Vaughn over hears Ryker talking and plotting against her to Vaughn's worst enemy.

Vaughn runs an escort service in Manhattan. She only has to do it for as long as it takes to make all the money she needs to pay back her debt. We don't know yet where she came from, what happened to her, what all that money is for or who/what she's afraid of - but there's definitely a lot of story there.
Ryker is a successful divorce attorney and he hires one of Vaughn's girls. But that girl isn't able to work that day - so Vaughn's only solution is to go herself!

I LOVED IT!
Well, I didn't really love-love it in the beginning. I don't know what it was exactly. Maybe it was my mood when I started reading. Or it was the fact that I don't want my heroine to be a criminal and my hero to hire said criminal? No idea. But the beginning of the book wasn't my thing.
But it got better. It's interesting and funny and sexy to see how Vaughn tries to resist Ryker. It's adorable to see why Vaughn needs the money, why she needs to be done with that Escort life asap.
I didn't much love the whole back and forth. That's just something that I don't need in my books. We could've put those two books into one and it would've been a great story. But the way Kristy did it - it's just too long and too much redundant stuff was put in there to fill two books. PLUS we get the cliffy and have to wait MONTHS! I hate that - I'm suffering from #Booksalzheimers and as a busy bookblogger I don't have time to re-read the first book when the 2nd one comes out. I should just not read duets or series - or at least not until all books have been released! Grr.
BUT - this story was definitely interesting and sexy and fun and adorable! I really liked reading it. Don't listen to my stupid bad-reading-mood-ramblings. ☺ I sooo need to know how Vaughn & Ryker's story will end in book #2!

So many secrets, so many omissions, so much sexy, so much resistance. Who is Vaughn really and why-oh-why does she resist Ryker so much? Sexy madam by day, cocktail waitress by night, doting aunt with a spotty history. Powerful divorce attorney helping men screw over women regardless of their situations. They seem to have nothing in common except their want for each other. But that can’t happen because neither of them will allow themselves to feel anything for another person outside of a business transaction. How long can they resist each other before their worlds collide?
I had to take a break to sleep or I would have devoured this in one night. Kristy has a way of writing so you get to know her characters, so they are stuck in your mind and in your heart. This story was no exception. The background eases its way into the storyline appropriately without bombarding you with information before you need to know it. I love the drive of both characters, each for their own reasons, and the lengths they were willing to go to play their roles. I wanted to hug then smack Vaughn and tell her to fall for the handsome man who would likely make her crazy. I wanted to see Ryker in the courtroom exuding power and confidence. And I want to keep that visual of a sexy man biting his lip out of desire. Cliffhanger? Of course... Reveal is going to be amazing and I can not wait to read it!
Side note: I’ll likely edit this as thoughts come to me. I needed a breather before writing this review so I could process everything. There were tears for sure. I’m just grateful there was a warning that this was a duet.

Vaughn is a fighter, not in a sporting sense, she is a very determined and focused woman. She runs her exclusive escort business and waitresses part time at a high end establishment. She has a long term goal that she is working towards and that is her only focus at the moment. When she has to fill in for one of her girls with a new and potentially lucrative client, Ryker Lockhart she discovers that she may have very well met her match.
Firstly, she has never had to stand in for one of her girls before and she finds herself tripping up on a few white lies with the charismatic and intuitive Ryker. He is a divorce attorney with a reputation of ruthlessly negotiating for his clients – all men. However, more concerning for Vaughn is the ridiculous chemistry between them. She does not want to feel anything for Ryker but her body did not get the memo.
Ryker is completely intrigued by this beautiful woman who, in one night, has managed to get under his skin and more frustratingly at the forefront of his mind. Her dismissive and nonchalant attitude towards him is not a response he is used to getting and he needs to know more about her. The last thing Vaughn wants is Ryker’s unsolicited attention but he is the master of negotiation and used to winning. Vaughn has a lot more to lose than Ryker does and she has no choice but to go along with his proposal.
Ryker can’t quite figure out Vaughn, she is a puzzle he means to solve. The more he finds out about her the more he is drawn to her. She is a woman that tempts him in every way and he has every intention of making her his. Vaughn is struggling with this overwhelming interruption to her life but resisting Ryker Lockhart is futile. She wants him too but giving into him could put everything she is working towards at risk..
There is SO much more to this story that I haven’t even touched on so that you can discover it yourself. Before you read this book I need to warn you that once you start, you will probably not be able to stop so make sure you have a nice block of time and a comfy place to indulge in this addictive read.
