Nasdaq PHLX (“Phlx”) is clarifying its existing procedures for Directed Streaming Quote Traders (“Directed SQTs”) and Directed Remote Streaming Quote Traders (“Directed RSQTs”) (together, “Directed Market Makers”).

For purposes of the electronic quoting requirements in Phlx Rule 1081(c)(ii)(C), a member organization is considered directed in all assigned options once the member organization receives a Directed Order in any option in which they are assigned, and is considered a Directed SQT or Directed RSQT until such time as the member organization notifies Phlx that they are no longer directed.

In SR-Phlx-2018-22, Phlx indicated that member organizations must contact Phlx’s Operations desk to provide notice that they are no longer directed. As of April 23, 2019, a member organization that desires not to be considered a Directed SQT or Directed RSQT must contact the Phlx Membership Department.
