Though the reports were already out there, the Eagles made it official Thursday: Alshon Jeffery will not play again in the 2019 season.
The team placed the veteran on injured reserve and promoted reciever Robert Davis to the active roster to take his place.

Jeffery’s season ends with just 43 receptions for 490 yards and four touchdowns.
The move also makes it a near certainty that the “DNA Boys” never play together again, so their run lasted one game and never happened following their announcement of the name.
Davis was signed to the practice squad in early October.
Davis was a sixth-round pick of the Redskins in the 2017 draft. He spent most of 2017 on the practice squad and the 2018 season on injured reserve.
He has one catch for 11 yards in 2019.
To fill his spot on the practice squad, receiver Deontay Burnett was brought in.
Burnett, a USC product, was an undrafted free agent in 2018.
He has spent time with the Titans, Jets and 49ers.
In 2018, he had 10 catches for 143 yards on 15 targets.
He was on the 49ers practice squad for most of this season prior to his release on Tuesday.
