'How to move to Scotland' searches spike on Google after Nicola Sturgeon announces indyref2 plans

Just like that, another general election has come and gone.

Apart from Boris Johnson, it was a pretty miserable night for virtually everyone, that is, except for SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon.

Sturgeon positioned a pro-EU stance at the heart of her campaign, but also a pledge to let Scotland vote again on whether it wants independence from the rest of the UK.

After a fantastic night, which saw Sturgeon’s party win 48 of Scotland’s 56 seats – unseating Lib Dem leader Jo Swinson in the process – Sturgeon has announced plans to publish the Scottish Government's legal case for a second independence referendum as early as next week.

As the news of a possible #indyref2 spreads, something incredible has happened on Google search trends.

Times journalist Esther Webber reports that searches about moving to Scotland have spiked.

On Twitter, there's been lots of people saying they're now considering a move.
