Boys of the Bayou #4

Crazy Rich Cajuns

He wears suits and ties. He'll one day inherit a fortune. He has a law degree. He shines his shoes, for God's sake. What is she doing attracted to a guy like him? But she is. She so is.

She drives air boats on the bayou, drinks and cusses, and gives city boys in suits a hard time just for fun. Why can't he get her out of his mind? But he can't. He definitely can't.

A weekend trip to Savannah for a fancy-schmancy party with his highfalutin family is the surefire way to prove that they have nothing in common but intense chemistry. And to maybe scratch this I've-never-wanted-anyone-like-I-want-you itch once or twice. Or five times.

But it takes only about twenty-four hours for the bayou girl and the city boy to figure out that they don't really know much at all--about each other, or about themselves. And figuring all of this out is going to be downright crazy.

A hot, small town, opposites attract rom com!

Kennedy Landry and Bennett Baxter's story!

I'm going back and doing some edits this morning as I'm getting close to THE END :) And thought I'd share this little bit with you ;)

“If it was an emergency, you would have hung up and called back. Over and over again. Leaving progressively more and more threatening messages about what you were going to do to me when you did finally get a hold of me,” he told her, signing off on the bottom of the letter he’d just finished and moving it to the side.

“I would never do that,” she said.

“No?” When she did finally send him reports it was always in folders that were named things like I’m Not Your Fucking Secretary and If You Ask Me to Get You Coffee It Will Definitely Have Turtle Shit In It.

“If I really needed your attention, I’d start texting. Photos. Naked photos.”

His entire body reacted to that. He cleared his throat. “I would definitely—.”

“Of my grandfather.”

Bennett paused. Then groaned. He knew her grandfather. Leo Landry was a great guy. Funny, down-to-earth, honest, loyal. And someone that Bennett absolutely did not ever want to see naked. Ever.

“You’re an evil woman.”

“Remember that.”

I loved this book even more than the other Boys of the Bayou book (if that’s even possible). I’ve been looking forward to Kennedy and Bennett’s story, and Erin Nicholas didn’t disappoint. There were twists throughout, and the chemistry between these two was off the charts scorching. This book really has it all; family, love, all the emotions, an awesome and relatable hero and heroine and a host of great supporting characters.

Bennett and Kennedy exceeded everything I thought they would be. They were so much more and then some! I just loved them. Kennedy and Bennett are fantastic together; from their fun, flirty banter, their sizzling hot encounters to their sweet romantic gestures which was the best lead up to a surprising and yet perfect happily ever after.

Kennedy and Bennett heat this book up from beginning to end. I could not put it down. As always, I cannot wait to see what Erin Nicholas comes up with next!

This story went above and beyond what I could have ever imagined for Kennedy and Bennett. I’ve been looking forward to their story, and Erin Nicholas didn’t disappoint. There were twists throughout, and the chemistry between these two was off the charts. The banter between these two had me cracking up.

Kennedy is such a relatable heroine. She says what’s on her mind, but does it in an acceptable way.... mostly 😂😂😂. Bennett is perfect for her. He loves her just the way she is, and wouldn’t have her any other way.

The family. Oh, how I love the Landry family. They’re wild. They’re crazy. And have the perfect amount of drama that will make you want to be a part of it.

An amazing addition to the Boys Of The Bayou series that I would highly recommend!

This writer is one of the few voices in contemporary romance who has the ability to bring my world to a screeching halt. The second her book is available to me, everything in my life ceases to exist (sorry family) and I greedily soak up every word. That didn’t happen overnight, but time and time again her talent, humor and heart have effortlessly made me fall in love with her characters so that I will always, always need her next book in my life.

Truthfully, I’ve been dying for Kennedy and Bennett's book. The glimpses we’ve had of them so far have been sassy, snarky and hilarious, so I knew their story would be epic, but this was so much better than I could have imagined! OMGee, the way these two dance around each other is a delicious kind of agony that builds the most tantalizing anticipation. These two snap and snip and quarrel, and it only serves to turn up the tension and heat until they finally face facts, give in to their feelings for each other, and singe everything within a ten mile radius.

We can’t really talk about any of these stand-alone books in this series without acknowledging the Landry clan. The big, loud, crazy, interfering, endearing, delightful Landrys. With quirks for days and opinions whether or not you want to hear them, this rambunctious, larger-than-life family will make you want to move to Autre, LA, just to be in the Landrys’ orbit. Somehow, each book in this series is better than the last, and these crazy Cajuns permanently own a huge chunk of my heart.

If you’re new to this series, Kennedy and Bennett’s story is a great place to start, but I’ll warn you. Once you get a taste of these bayou boys (and gals), it’s exactly like potato chips and you won’t be able stop with just one. The setting will intrigue you, the characters will enchant you, and their story will captivate you, so that you’ll finish the book with a happy sigh while eagerly anticipating your next encounter with these beloved characters. Do yourself a big favor and escape to Autre today!

"Good Morning, Miss Landry" I don't know what it was about that opening line but I knew I'd be fanning myself with this story!

You've gotten glimpses of this building relationship over the last 3 books, but man, I never expected for it to be as awesome as it was. Sexy. Flirty. Romantic. Dirty. Perfect!

Kennedy and Bennett heat this book up from beginning to end. You will not be able to put it down. What a wonderful ending to this series. As always, I can't wait to see what Erin Nicholas gives us next!

Erin Nicholas is one of those authors, and Boys of the Bayou is one of those series where just having Crazy Rich Cajuns in your possession is a distinct pleasure. But as delicious as that feeling is, it won't hold you forever ;) Crazy Rich Cajuns is definitely one of those books where on the one hand, it can't get into my eyeballs fast enough, and on the other hand, I want to prolong the experience as much as possible because I'm going to love every second and will be so sad when it's done.

Crazy Rich Cajuns is the fourth in this series set in Autre in the Louisiana bayou, and is the long-awaited story featuring Kennedy Landry and Bennett Baxter. Kennedy is the "baby" at the Boys of the Bayou, with a host of older brothers and cousins and loving family to keep a watchful eye on her hijinks. And because of that loving support, Kennedy has definitely forged her own path. A former star of the pageant circuit, Kennedy sports her changing hair and permanent tattoos with aplomb, and with her smart wit and equally smart mouth, will never take anything lying down. And with all that familial support, she's the Boys of the Bayou's sole full-time employee, so she's an heiress of sorts to the swamp boat tour company her family's lovingly built with their own hands.

Bennett is heir to a different sort of empire. He's all slick suits and polished business acumen, and multiple degrees from excellent institutions of higher learning. While his lawyerly self can get the better end of any legal matter, it's likely he'd easily end up alligator bait in Autre. So... what's this ridiculous chemistry that sparks between these two? Why can't they stay in their own lanes?

The beauty of love and the beauty of an Erin Nicholas story is that THIS is where the magic is.

Another thing about Erin Nicholas stories is the many hidden depths.  Crazy Rich Cajuns is no exception.  While I expected and very happily enjoyed the witty banter and the wisecracking, flirty fun, Ms Nicholas also brings it home with all the layers to Bennett and Kennedy. We readers have the pleasure of seeing them wrestle with uncovering and discovering who they believe themselves to be, who they believe each other to be, and who they are figuring out they really are.

The Boys of the Bayou series is also very much about the love of family, and Crazy Rich Cajuns delivers there as well. Not everyone in the story starts off as a Kennedy fan (it's just shocking, isn't it? ;) ), but her big heart and willingness to go to the mat for those she loves?  That wins her some important hearts, and I'm blinking back the tears.  Ms Nicholas brings ALL the feels!

One other thing I loved about Crazy Rich Cajuns is that at the core, Bennett really is kind of a nerd. Those glasses aren't just for show, and he really IS a geeky science-loving lawyer. But that passion not only wins us over, it bowls Kennedy over.  And when Kennedy's gears get spinning, world?  WATCH OUT.  Ms Nicholas lets us see that when we pursue what wows us and drives us, we can do incredible things.  We real people can have real impact in our families and lives and communities.

Crazy Rich Cajuns is a feast for your heart.  It satisfies like nothing else on the first read (not even a crawfish boil!) and every re-read to come.

5 This Was Everything Stars
* * * * * Spoiler Free
I have been reading this Amazing Series, Boys of the Bayou from the start. Erin Nicholas took an idea, created the world around it, put a charming family in the center of it, and let it loose. She gave us fully formed men who were dedicated to preserving their business of doing tours of the Bayou. These men and their feisty, smart sister Kennedy ran the tours and kept each other in check. They were part of a bigger family circle that completed this loving group. They were unique, loud, raw, and shrewd, able to give advice, need advice, or loved stirring the pot.

We have been given each of the brothers and their finding women who are meant to bring out the best. This time we are given Kennedy, the sister who refused to be put in the corner.

Kennedy was a woman who could not be classified.
As a little girl, she was raised in the beauty pageant world. Her mom loved taking her to the events and Kennedy who was stunning from the start won all the time. As she grew up, she started to rebel. By twelve /thirteen, she decided No, Nope...wasn't going to do this anymore. Enter the Goth clothing, dark eye makeup, and tougher feel to her. Kennedy raised with all the boys gave her strong confidence and the ability to hold her own. The foundation of the Landry family surrounded her with love allowing her to develop in the cutting, sarcastic, sweet-when-wanting-to-be woman.

Bennett came into the Bayou Boys circle when he bought into the business. He was a man who loved the Bayou, had a link to the area from his mother, and also wanted to save the land from developers and the change in the climate. As a part-owner, he had an excuse to talk with Kennedy and tease her. It was the highlight of his week. He wasn't alone in this teasing. Kennedy loved pulling his chain as she would make up reasons to deliver reports late...ones Bennett could pull up on his computer if he really wanted. It was a game between them because the sparks were definitely there.

Kennedy was a little confused, though...Bennett wasn't her type of guy at all...Him in his beautiful suits, all shiny shoes, big money, and all...Kennedy looked for men who knew how to use their hands, fix tires, air conditioners, and the docks. Why did she tingle when she saw him...Why did she think maybe having a fling would be a good idea...

Well, when the man himself shows up at the tour office and whispers in her ear causing her toes to curl and the dirty thoughts he shares of what he would like to do with her...Then a yes comes out of her mouth when Bennett tells Kennedy she should come with him to Savannah for his father's birthday party. Now Kennedy knows this is a situation where all the things she hated from the pageant days will be there on steroids, big money, and society people...But to spend the weekend with Bennett away from the brothers with prying eyes and wagging tongues, the pull is too strong.

Now here is where I want to Rave about how this story continued. Erin Nicholas Did Not go down the common path and write an easy story of conflicts and ta-da it has its HEA. It would have been so expected to layout conflicts we all can see and then have the epiphany and then done.

But Oh, No No...

This was perfect...so Bayou Perfect with all the twists and turns we know the Bayou thinking can bring. I Loved the way this tale took on so much; politics, community and the belief in one's self. The discoveries both, Kennedy and Bennett, have about themselves and what they want from life were refreshing.

As I said, this series had everything a reader could want. Strong men with big hearts. Women who gave these men a run to capture those hearts. Lots of humor, colorful secondary characters and the love of the Bayou. Thank you, Erin, for this ride.

This is fourth in a series and Kennedy and Bennett have been bantering/flirting back and forth from the first. Plus, the other relationships bleed into this story as well. So I definitely recommend reading these in order.

This was pretty much what you'd expect if you've read the others. I knew that Nicholas would have to do something with Kennedy to give her more than what she had been so far because she has mostly been skating through life until now. You could see that she has lots of potential and that it could go a lot of different directions and being with Bennett means having resources to do things. So my concern was that he'd step in as savior/enabler and it'd be lame. I'm happy to report that Nicholas made it vibrant and real and that it ended up having nothing to do with Bennett's resources and everything to do with Kennedy's passion and capability.

So that rocked. And bonus points for making it a source of conflict without making it lame as well. And yes, I'm dancing around particulars for spoiler reasons because it was so satisfying to see it develop.

And I really liked what Nicholas did with the secondary characters around Bennett's life in Savannah. His family had their hangups and conflicting goals and desires for him and having Kennedy show up and not stomp around in her combat boots was an outstanding development. I loved that she didn't need to be brash or offensive and that they came to appreciate and respect her and without her bending or altering who she is at her core. This worked out extremely well and made me just fall for Kennedy even more than I already had.

My only discontent with the story is that simplistic view of politics and politicians that people want to believe are true despite all evidence to the contrary. Politics is a dirty arena and that goes all the way down. If you ever want to lose respect for your fellow citizens, start following city council-level politics and pay attention to the things that go on there. So while I liked seeing Bennett and Kennedy talking with politicians and resisting the easy answers, I'm not at all happy with regurgitating the myth of politicians working diligently and honestly to do what's right despite everything their dishonest, wicked opponents put in their way to thwart them. It's an unusual myth to see in a series that has been wary of easy answers on the bayou from the beginning, being careful to present a layered and well-considered balance of the issues surrounding the business at the heart of the community and people we've come to care about.

That said, those are personal qualms and I was able to enter the illusion of the well-meaning political friends and allies for the duration of the story. So this is a solid 4½ stars that I'll gladly round up for the excellent relationship and seeing Bennett come to embrace his desire to care for, support, and love Kennedy while she supports, loves, and cares for him. It was a great culmination of their back and forth to this point.

A note about Steamy: There are two explicit sex scenes but a couple of not-quite sex scenes along the way putting this solidly in the middle of my steam tolerance. Frankly, I really liked their dynamic in intimate moments and am glad Nicholas gave us those details so well.

When I first saw the title of Erin Nicholas’ latest release, I knew that I had to read it. The title made me laugh, a proper belly laugh. Of course, this gave the actual book a big job to deliver. It had to be as funny as the title.

This book had me laughing in a way that I would avoid doing in public! Yep, it brought out that illusive snort. A noise that I only ever make about twice a year (my family may debate that total.)

I have not read the previous books in the Boys of The Bayou series, but I will be rectifying that ASAP because if they are as fabulous as Crazy Rich Cajuns then I am seriously missing out.

I loved the Landry family, I want to join the Landry family and be a part of that wonderful craziness

Kennedy and Bennett made my little heart happy. Kennedy has a warm heart, a great family, and sass for days.

The relationship is filled with snip, snark, and on paper they could not be more different. Kennedy works in the Bayou among her large loving family. She doesn’t hold back, and is a colourful character in every way possible. Bennett works in law and wears shiny shoes and suits but gives as good as he gets when it comes to Kennedy.

They sound like a match made in hell but when these two come together there are more than a few fireworks.

Okay, so wow just wow! I’ve loved this series by Erin Nicholas but with Crazy Rich Cajuns she just took it to a whole different level. I was looking forward to this couple’s story, I knew it would be combustible but I didn’t expect the depth in the plot or the characters. I’ve been reading this author a lot of years and one of my favorite things about her is she can always transport me right into her stories and not only did she do that with this book, but she had me wanting to dig in and get right in the middle of saving the bayou and making the world a better place. That my friends is excellent writing and Erin Nicolas proves over and over she is a master.

Kennedy was born and raised in the Bayou and has worked for her family’s company since she was old enough to do so. A former pageant contestant, Kennedy rebelled and has enjoyed being herself, dressing like she wants, and simply proving she is her own person. When Bennett came along wanting to invest in the family’s business she was against it, but as she doesn’t own the company she had to grin and bear it, but the sparks have been flying from that first meeting and they’ve grown brighter each time they see one another. Bennett the smart, successful lawyer who wants nothing more than to be a part of Boys of the Bayou and learn everything he can about the company he now owns a piece of. He loves her family, he loves the bayou, and he is half in love with her, but he knows he’s going to have to work to get her love in return.

There is nothing I like better than a couple whose verbal sparring is foreplay and Kennedy and Bennett are masters at the sparring. When he asks her to go to his family’s home in Savannah for his father’s retirement party, she has no idea how little she really knows about him and his life until she gets there, but instead of it turning her off, it turns her on even more discovering there is way more to Bennett than meets the eye and it turns out she has a thing for the nerdy scientist lawyer.

You’d think Kennedy would be a fish out of water in a Georgia society setting, but instead she finds that her passion for Louisiana and the bayou may lead her to take on a much bigger role in her small town life. I always appreciate when characters grow and change both Kennedy and Bennett did some of that in this book.

Filled with witty banner, snark, sexy times, passion, and a whole lot of love; Crazy Rich Cajuns was a stand-out romance in what has been a stellar series.

CRAZY RICH CAJUNS (Boys of the Bayou Book 4) by Erin Nicholas is another great addition to this contemporary romance series, in fact, it is my favorite. For three books we have been getting glimpses of Kennedy and Bennett sparking off of each other and in this book in the series Ms. Nicholas delivers a romance that is everything I was hoping it would be.

Kennedy Landry runs The Boys of the Bayou Tour office. Kennedy dresses like a goth, tattoo and piercings in rebellion of her years in childhood pageants. She runs the office like a general, swears and drinks like a sailor and cares for her extended family and friends with her whole heart. So why does she have this fascination with the new partner in the suit?

Bennett Baxter is rich, runs his own foundation which works on environmental issues especially in the bayou and wants to fit in with the Landry clan in Autre, LA. He is especially attracted to the smart-mouthed goth who runs the tour office.

Bennett invites Kennedy to his father’s retirement party in Savannah over the weekend. Kennedy is not sure how or if she will fit in with Bennett’s society friends, but she sure wants to get Bennett in bed and try to figure out why she craves him to distraction. Bennett wants Kennedy to be herself and show his parents he is not interested in the path they have laid out for him.

What they both find out is that they have explosive sexual chemistry, but they do not know much about each other and still have a few things to find out about themselves. Can these opposites find their HEA?

Kennedy and Bennett are such great characters. Ms. Nicholas surprised me with the romance starting one way and then… plot twist…with both characters growing and changing in a way I did not anticipate. All the situations during the weekend party had me laughing out loud and/or cheering. Ms. Nicholas always gives her characters entertaining, realistic and sexy dialogue that pulls you into the story. Kennedy and Bennett have explicit sex scenes that burn up the pages. (Wait until you read the shower scene. Smokin’!) They also have great sexy texts and dialogue.

All the books can be read as standalone romances, but I recommend you read them all because they are just so much sexy fun and full of love. They are all short, just 12 chapters each and will have you not wanting to stop until the HEA.

Let me start off with a PSA. Don't take any kind of drink while reading anything Kennedy has to say. She is THE most sassy, honest and up front character I think I have ever read. Her mouth gets her into the most flirtatious conversations that have some solid results. Bennett is the one with whom she has these conversations. He has no problems ramping up the flirtation to panty melting faster than a quick talking politician. Now I must admit that I have read all of the previous books. Does that mean you need to? No. Kennedy and Bennett can stand on their own. But if you do, you can see how they dance around one another from the very lol first insulting flirty statement. I loved how they start this book at full speed and never really slow down. Kennedy's family, the Laundry's, are a full speed kind of family too. The support they have for one another is unrivaled. They have each others backs. But the teasing they do to each other means they are a family member and belong. That's what Bennett wants, a place to call home and he believes that starts with Kennedy. As with all Erin Nicholas books, there are some deep self realizing moments here that make me want to jump into these books and help them through it all. Kennedy and Bennett are no different. Kennedy finds something she never would have without Bennett and his own crazy family. And Bennett finds his place in her crazy life.

This is the fourth book in the Boys Of The Bayou series by Erin Nicholas. Since I read the previous three books in the series, I can say with honesty that I was eager and impatient to finally read about Kennedy and Baxter. Unfortunately, this book wasn't as good as the others and I admit to being slightly disappointed at the feeling that this book was rushed; as if it didn't have the same care that the author took for the previous ones. No, that said, I did not hate it. Obviously, I gave this book four stars for a good reason. The secondary characters are what I enjoyed the most. As always, the Landrys are a heartwarming, humorous bunch of fun-loving individuals. Not to mention that their loyalty to family and friends is truly beautiful. In addition, I was enthralled and entertained by them.

Kennedy and Bennett meet in book two, Sweet Home Louisiana, which is Owen and Maddie's great love story of second chances. Kennedy was sassy and a thorn in Bennett's side. In fact, they both agitated each other. Love/hate at its best! Their banter quickly turn to outspoken, dirty talking. And then, eventually more. I don't want to give away the story, so you'll have to see for yourself what these two get up to.

An aspect I did very much like was that despite their insults toward each other, there was more than not, respect and admiration. Towards the last chapters, the story took a bit of a turn that I didn't expect. Kennedy ended up being someone I perceived as intelligent. Sadly, no, I always thought her character was a bit immature and churlish. Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of her outspoken, crass comments and thought her to be a brat. I'm glad the author showed me what Kennedy is truly capable of. It was a nice surprise.

So, in a nut shell, this trope is about how opposites attract. Both Kennedy and Bennett connected on a level I never expected. I was satisfied with their happy ending.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it.

This book will give you lots of feels and leave you wanting so much more. You will try to be prepare for what’s going to happen, you wait for it as you read more, and then it happens. Just like a Hurricane! ... except you want more. Kennedy and Bennett has a relationship that some people can relate to ....not perfect but it’s theirs and amazing. Who doesn’t love some Cajun spices in their life ... crawfish style.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This girl from the bayou is the best of the Boys of the Bayou series. Not only was I laughing at page one, there was no way I was putting this book down, regardless of how late it got!
Kennedy is my sarcastic, cussing, tattooed southern sister-from-another-mister. Not only does she have a smart mouth, but she’s got street smarts that will get her farther in life than most people. She a caretaker of her family, as well as the family business. And she’s got the hots for buttoned-up, shiny shoe (ha!) Georgia lawyer Bennett...and isn’t sure whether she likes it or not! Bennett likes to give it right back to Kennedy, which throws her off her game when he tosses the curse words and dirty talk right back at her.
The smoking hot chemistry is there between our mis-matched couple, as is the fun and dysfunction of the Landry family that we’ve seen in the previous books. But what Nicholas threw into Crazy Rich Cajuns was current crises and issues facing our country now, without it sounding preachy or political. It fit into the storyline seamlessly and brought both surprises and a richness to the book that stepped it up from the Landry boys books. That’s not a complaint or a dig...Owen, Josh and Sawyer’s stories were awesome. Kennedy’s books is fantastic!
Yes, it can be read alone, as the whole series can. But please don’t. Read them all, in order, if that’s your groove (like it is mine). Despite the heat, humidity and bayou creatures, you’ll be itching to move to Autry, LA and looking for the Landry family yourself!

I have loved this Bayou Series. Kennedy has always been a handful. But she is loyal to her family and tells you exactly how she feels. I have loved how her and Bennett have flirted for awhile and he is finally making his move. The two seem like such opposites on the surface. I loved how Bennett tried to get information from her grandpa, brothers and cousins so he wouldn’t mess up anything with her.

You have to understand that Kennedy dresses goth and has a big tattoo. Bennett is a lawyer and his father has been a Georgia Senator. Kennedy’s family is bold, what you see is what you get, and anything goes. Bennett’s family hobnobs with governors, senators and rich individuals. The one saving grace is that Bennett’s mom is from Louisiana even though she does not broadcast that or act like it now. I loved when Bennett took Kennedy to his family home to celebrate his father retiring from the Senate. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall for that weekend! Bennett and Kennedy have decisions to make about their future and what they are looking for out of life. I loved the story and strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.

Another awesome read in the Boys of the Bayou series. Will Kennedy finally give Bennett a chance? Absolutely love the chemistry between these two. I definitely recommend this book and can’t wait for more in the series.

When Bennett asks Kennedy to go away for a weekend to meet his family, it's sorta in payment for legal services rendered, but it's really so Bennett can finally act on the attraction between the two of them. He's always been fascinated by the tell it like it is, sassy spitfire who's the opposite of the uptight moneyed world he was raised in. If he can bring Kennedy to meet his family, and they click, he'll know for sure she's the one for him. Not that he doesn't already know it...he just has to get her to agree he's the one for her. Sounds easy, right?

Wrong! Because Kennedy is determined that they'll have some fun, then he'll get tired of her and leave. She's not the woman for him with her tattoos and black clothing and bayou upbringing. She knows that their two worlds don't mix and he'll realize it after they've scratched their itch. But perhaps she's got Bennett all wrong. Perhaps he'll actually stick...

I loved Crazy Rich Cajuns. A more opposite couple could not possibly exist, but they're perfect for each other. He's the sweetest guy and he likes her, more than likes her, just the way she is. He supports her even when she doesn't know what she wants in life. And she supports him too. And did I mention their chemistry is seriously smoldering?! Whew! I loved the Boys of the Bayou series and Bennett and Kennedy just made me want more of these bayou Landrys and the people (and animals) they love.

What a fabulous story for Kennedy! As the only female in a group of guys that run a bayou tour company, Kennedy more than held her own. She was fearless and had a hand in everything her family did all the while keeping the guys managed. Kennedy needed a guy that was her equal, not one that she could control or one that would control her but let her be her. Bennett was the perfect guy for her. Bennett actually saw her and not just the black clothes, fingernails, tattoo and dyed hair. He actually saw her and wanted her for her. He liked when she gave him attitude- heck it turned him on! You could feel the attraction between these two from the get go, they actually got turned on by the disagreeing and flirting they did. I enjoyed Bennett taking Kennedy back to his family’s home and seeing her open up in a different environment than what he is used to seeing her in. I loved the chemistry between Kennedy and Bennett, you could just feel the attraction these two had for each other.
I have loved the Boys on the Bayou series and have enjoyed seeing them all for the person that was perfect for them. It was quite enjoyable seeing Bennett fall for Kennedy and not be scared away by her attitude or her “dark” appearance but that he actually saw her and fell in love with her. And it was great seeing Kennedy fall for a guy so unlike her- at least on the outside. These two were a fantastic couple and I loved them together. I have loved all of the books in the Boys on the Bayou series and Kennedy’s story did not disappoint.

I wish there were more stars to give for this absolutely fantastic book! This series is fast becoming one of my all time favorites by Erin Nicholas and that is really saying something as I have loved every one of her series so far! I laughed, I swooned, I felt so many things which is exactly why I read!
I knew Kennedy's book would blow me away since I totally adore her character. She is real, unapologetic, funny, sassy and just so cool! She is my soul sister for sure as I too can eat my weight in stuffed mushrooms lol and think hors d'oeuvres are simply the best because you get to sample so many different things at once.
Bennett is so sexy, nerdy and commanding and everything that is the opposite of what Kennedy thought she wanted; that is until some time away from Autre with him shows her how wrong she was about that. Turns out he is so sexy and irresistible in his glasses and shiny shoes and that there is so much more to him than she every knew! Kennedy blooms when she is with him and she shows sides of her that had been hidden beneath the good time bayou girl. I love these meddling cajuns and how they make Bennett come to a very important realization. I also love how supportive he is of Kennedy and how he really gets behind her and what she wants. She is a breath of fresh air and Bennett finds he really needs air!
I love this story so much! I love the Landry's and their antics! But I really adore Kennedy and Bennett and every single thing about their journey to their HEA. Amazing epilogue and lead in to the next book! Can't wait for more!!!

If it is even possible, I loved this book even more than the other Boys of the Bayou book. This book has it all; family, love, emotions, an awesome hero and heroine and great supporting characters.

Kennedy is a tough as they come woman. She wears her armor by way of her clothes, piercings and make-up. It's her way of putting up walls to keep people out. Kennedy runs the office for the Boys of the Bayou swamp boat tour company that her family owns. It takes her no nonsense attitude to keep the company running efficiently. Everything is great until a new part owner is brought aboard, Bennett Baxter!

Bennett loves the bayou and wants it to be a bigger part of his life. When he gets the opportunity to buy a portion of the swamp boat company, he jumps at the chance. He gets along well with everyone involved, except Kennedy. But oh, how he wants to get along with her. The feeling is mutual although neither one will admit to it.

Bennett and Kennedy were nothing like I thought they'd be. They were so much more! I just loved them. I couldn't have imagined half of what happened. What a great book! And, holy moly, there are some hot scenes between the two. The one at about 34%...well let's just say that I'm shocked that my tablet didn't start smoking. It wasn't raunchy or anything, it was just hot! But will the two of them be able to overcome the obstacles in their way and have a future together?

I loved this book. I loved the ending with the Bananas Foster. I found that sassy banter between Kennedy and Bennett to be entertaining and like foreplay. These two are great. Bennett opens up Kennedy’s world and shows her that she wants more. That she can achieve anything she desires and that he is her Leo. Kennedy helps Bennett see that he is happy and settled. He knows what he wants and knows how to achieve it except when it comes to her. She challenges him. He pushes and supports her. They both have a love of the environment and family. They are both loyal, kind, caring and passionate people.

Bennett is the sexy science nerd who wants to make a difference. He loves the independence and how Kennedy is real and honest. He loves how she pushes him and challenges him. Bennett has a future planned out for him and it’s one he doesn’t want at least not right now. He has goals to achieve and he wants to be out of the spotlight. He does however want Kennedy and to see her achieve all she can be. He wants to love and support her. Now he just needs Kennedy to see that he is the one for her. They have roadblocks. Kennedy’s thoughts and his mother at first. But when they get over those wow we get some sexy times and sweet moments.

Kennedy is strong willed, stubborn, smart, sweet, loyal and loving. She is there for her family no matter what and boy does she give it to Bennett when they are talking to one another. Her attraction to him is just as strong as his is to hers. ONly she wishes to deny it. She sees him as the rich guy only playing at being one of the boys. That he isn’t serious. It isn’t until there trip to Georgia that she really got to know Bennett as he got to know her as well. ONly she found out alot about herself as well. And Bennett must catch up to her feelings and you feel for the guy because he got surprised by her and didn’t catch up fast enough. When he did, we get this great moment and it’s wonderful and perfect. He is her Leo, her rock and the one that she calls home.

The story is fun, entertaining, sexy and full of sassy banter and sexy times. We learn about loyalty, family and love. We see our two amazing characters grow and fall in love with each other and help each other find their way to where they are supposed to be. A great sexy fun tale.

This series has become one of my absolute favorites. I love this family so much, and you can't help but feel like you are apart of it. Seeing Bennett in the last two books, you slowly got the feeling that he felt the same way. That being said, I couldn't wait to see what happened with Kennedy and Bennett.

Kennedy is absolutely AMAZING. She's kind of like the bread and butter for the Bayou Boys. She really help that company run in so many ways. Insert Bennett, and I loved how he really ruffled her feathers. I also loved how Bennett brought a completely different side of her to life. Then we have Bennett, who we assume the same thing as Kennedy. With his shoes shined and money, we think pompous ass. BUT there are SO MANY LAYERS to who Bennett is!!

Insert Bennett taking Kennedy to Savannah. This sounded so hysterical, in so many ways, and it also sounded like it could backfire on Bennett so incredibly bad. BUT, this trip was the best thing ever!!! We got to see this insane plot twist, from both Bennett and Kennedy, and we got to see how Bennett's family lives. Seeing this new side to both of them was truly amazing. This book was really different than the others, but I think Kennedy's story truly needed something different.

There was a LOT of self discovery in this book, both for Bennett and Kennedy but I think for us readers too. I think because of how the stories have gone so far, we only saw Kennedy as a bayou girl, we, along with Bennett, didn't see her true potential. Seeing how Kennedy fit right in with Bennett's family was really eye opening. I really loved how Erin built in so many different layers to this story and to Bennet and Kennedy's characters. It's always super exciting to get to peel back these layers to discover who a character truly is, and it was spectacular in this book for both of them!

All of what I said kind of makes this story sound so super serious, but in reality it was the complete opposite. The beginning was a little bit of a shit show, which was ABSOLUTELY HYSTERICAL! Kennedy meeting Bennett's mom, now THAT was pure genius!! There were so many parts where I found myself laughing out loud so hard! Now, there were definitely serious moments, but the best part of this book was that we got it all. Seeing these two kind of break out of their shell was so much fun. Also seeing Bennett and Kennedy in a different setting was fun too.

I basically don't want this family's story to EVER end!

This book had the potential to be more than it ended up being. Bennett and Kennedy have been set up as a classic enemies-to-lovers couple in the previous books in the series. I was ready for it, and then ... well, they weren't really enemies at all. It turns out that they just liked messing with each other, and that barely happens in this book. They are pretty much all in practically from the start of the story. There were lots of potential issues that could have been explored here, but all of the issues seemed to take a back bench to the physical connection between Kennedy and Bennett. After a bit I just didn't care to hear their dirty talk. It got boring. The big snafu that temporarily tears the couple apart could have been a really interesting part of the story to explore, but they rushed through it, taking little time to really dig into the characters. Kennedy is written as one sort of character, but by the end she is headed toward a really big change in her life. This could have been written more deeply, but it sort of just happens without a lot of depth. It was a missed opportunity for two wonderful leading characters who deserved a better story for their HEA. Having said that, I did enjoy this, probably best of the three audio books I've listened to. It was a nice story. I wish it had been a great one. Three stars.

I thought that this was simply terrific romance. The fun storyline captures your full attention and does not let go until the last page is read. There are plenty of sparks and clever banter as Kennedy and Bennett's long simmering attraction (This is a standalone read but these two make appearances in the three previous books of the series) finally reaches the boiling point. There is lots of humor and tugged on heartstrings as these two struggle with their confusion and emotions as they try to reconcile what their heads tell them they should want with what their hearts actually yearn for. Kennedy, with her goth style, fierceness, sassy attitude and backbone of steel was someone I'd love to be friends with an just hang out. As for Bennett, I though he was one silver-tongued, hot nerd with a beautiful heart. As a couple these two were sizzling, sweet and completely swoon worthy! If you are looking for a great romantic read that can deliver steam, heart and a excellent storyline, you can't go wrong with this book an in fact this whole series. I am freely posting a frank review.

I like this, I just didn’t love it. I think my expectations for Bennett & Kennedy were just too high. They had this flirty annoy each other thing going, but Kennedy’s sniping side character didn’t quite work as well for me when she was front & center for so much of it. There was a lot of humorous banter and I liked Kennedy’s convos with the Baxter guests.

I did like her & Bennett together, but missed the Bayou setting. Almost the entire book is 3 days in Georgia and I would have like more of them getting to know each other. The sex was there (oh boy was it there!) but I just wanted a little more when it came to feeling they really have a chance outside the bedroom… or shower.

Narration:
I liked Jamie Renell & Betsy Moore’s narration. Moore’s higher pitched voice wasn’t what I had imagined Kennedy would sound like - but it ended up working for me.

Unfortunately, there were several times in the book where the wrong narrator was performing a section. Renell reading what was obviously Kennedy’s POV and Moore doing Bennett’s. It really pulled me out of the story.

GAH!!!! Crazy Rich Cajuns is the 4th book in the Boys of the Bayou series, written by the wonderful romance author, Erin Nicholas. If you want a freaking fantastic book full of banter, humor, heat, boys of the Bayou, an exasperating family of extremes, hors d’oeuvres, denial, a bit o’drama, and a cannot-put-down-this-book storyline…THIS IS IT!

“If I really needed your attention, I’d start texting. Photos. Naked photos.”
His entire body reacted to that. He cleared his throat. “I would definitely—“
“Of my grandfather.”

The boss (kinda) and employee (kinda) relationship in this one; between the “hurricane” Landry, Kennedy, and the investor/co-owner, Bennett Baxter was so perfectly flirtatiously written! Kennedy is able to explore and expand on interests she has. Bennett is able to stand up for himself and take a route he has been wanting to take…but just needing the push. We also get a little more insight into Ellie and Leo’s relationship!

“Every couple needs a Leo, right?”

This book HAS everything…and IS everything! Crazy Rich Cajuns has all of the characters from the previous books in the series…including; Sawyer, Josh, Owen, Maddie, Tori, Juliet, Hilarious Ellie and Leo. The whole dynamic of this group will have you laughing and swooning so hard! This “can” be read as a standalone, but would be sooooo much better read in order of this series. This whole Bayou series should be at the top of your list! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book!!! 5 heated stars from me!
