First and foremost, thoughts and prayers to all of y’all on the coast that are staring down and/or dealing with the impacts of Hurricane Dorian. Let’s hope the storm decides to shift out to sea and damages are minimal. Stay safe, BTP family!

No Thursday night college football this week (boo), but the NFL does start Thursday night (yay?), so don’t forget to set you fantasy football rosters, folks.

Two ACC teams (Virginia and Wake Forest - again) have Friday night games, and both should easily win those. Marshall @ Boise State is your best bet for entertaining football Friday, so maybe it’s a good night to take the significant other out for dinner.

Not a lot of great games to choose from this weekend. There are 28 games this weekend between FBS and FCS teams, including ACC teams accounting for seven of those games. That’s a little absurd, but so it goes.

Defending Coastal Division Champion Pitt (ha!) might be in for a battle with Ohio (ha!). Virginia Tech also gets an opportunity to avenge last season’s loss to Old Dominion (ha!). We just missed out on WVU-Mizzou being a matchup of teams coming off losses to FCS teams.

The Cincy @ Ohio State game could be sneaky good. Texas A&M should give Clemson a much better test than GT gave them last week. The nightcap of LSU-Texas will be entertaining, but don’t get fooled by the name recognition in Stanford-USC; that game will probably suck. Hawaii, meanwhile, has an opportunity to open the season with back-to-back wins over P5 teams.

Happy footballing!
