A settlement has been reached in an officer-involved shooting that occurred in Sparks back in 2013.

The victim, who claims Sparks police shot her by mistake, will get $400,000 as part of a settlement with the city and its insurance company.

Darcie Latham's mother, Monica Ritchey, was armed and suicidal the day police were called to her home on Woodhaven Lane in October 2013.

Ritchey was shot and killed. Darcie, the daughter, was across the street unarmed but was also shot once in the leg. Both shootings were ruled justified.

The city had already paid out $300,000 for this case. The rest of the money for the settlement will come out of the city's insurance policy.
