Sarah Miller hasn’t been home in seven years. She thought she could stay away forever. If it wasn’t for her big brother's wedding, that is. Part of her even feels silly for staying away this long. It's not like anyone even knew what happened. Well, except for him.

That guy. The one she compared all others to. The one who set the bar so high no other guy after him could even compete. The one who made her feel like anything was possible. The one she thought she would never be good enough for. The one she spent the last seven years trying to forget.
All she needs to do is make it through the next week without running into him.

I liked it but didn't LOVE it. I usually love second chance romances but I think the whole storyline was a bit improbable. She does not return home for 7 years, the girl who comes from a very close-knit family. It is all over a misunderstanding! It started off good for me but was just flicking through the end to see how it finished up.... and then we see there is another book coming out with HIS POV. Don't think so. I am really starting to get annoyed with all the books that just don't end with the story.... some authors just want to drag it out to 2 or 3 or even more books. It was a nice enough book but not one I would be raving about.

I do not know what is wrong with me! whatever I start reading starts great then after first half just crashes down...

I loved it in the beginning, I thought it was one of the sweetest and most adorable stories I read, but then this short story actually got too stretched... impossible I know but it is how it is....

I am giving this 3 stars ONLY because I LOVED the parts in the past (YA parts, memories from high-school)! I swear I would devour that book if it was only YA parts <3

I was literally swooning <3 Will in high-school <3

Ever been so happy for someone and so aware of how lonely their happiness makes you feel at the same time?

This is a relatively cute lovers-reunited romance.

Sarah and Will had been best friends since a middle school project first brought them together. He practically lived at her house from that point on. And though he dated another girl in High School, they remained inseparable. But Sarah had a secret. She didn’t just love her best friend, she was in love with her best friend. And being so close to him all the time was exquisite torture.

Until one hot summer’s day in senior year. She wore a bikini. He couldn’t handle it. And one sentence, one kiss changed EVERYTHING. They fell in love. The heady, crazy, obsessive love that only teenagers seem to understand. And it was bliss. It was perfection.

Until the night she left. Without a word to anyone.

It’s been seven years since Sarah’s seen Will or even been home at all. Her older brother is getting married and she has to go…

As I said above this was relatively cute and fairly fluffy. Will’s that particular breed of too-good-to-be-true male love interest that always makes me laugh. The writing is okay but flawed, and the whole story could have used another round of editing. It dragged a bit at times and seemed unnecessarily dramatic at a couple points.

I AB-SO-FRICKEN-LUT-ELY LOVED this book...JOB WELL DONE :]]]]

 photo fatasainlady_zps6348ad36.gif

The characters were awesome, from Will, Sarah, to the best friend Sawyer..I enjoyed them all, even the parents, EXCEPT from Will's mother whom took 7 years from them, I could so slap her, ughhh, what a biotchhh..

 photo tumblr_lywd6tZvhy1r80u1uo1_500_zps5fda98c5.gif

So after 7 wasted years, they find eachother. I guess it wasn't that wasted, at least they both made something of themselves, and both got great jobs.

And with Will getting the tattoo, that was pretty awesome. He was pretty awesome.

Well to finish up this review, because I never say what the books are about, because I wouldn't want to ruin the thrill of reading it, but you would be crazy to not read it.... It is awesome, and I am looking forward to many other books by this author.
Thanks for the ARC and hope you keep me in your address book for an ARC of HER :]]]

Super cute. A clean romance. Even though there is a major twist, I still consider this is a clean romance.

Him is my first read by Miss Heywood. The major steal show of the story is of course Will. He is super cute. And there is a lot of kissing too. The sex scenes are there but not graphic.

Overall this is a wonderful read.

This second chance at love trope just didn’t quite feel complete to me. What caught my attention and appealed most was its book cover. Frankly, it’s nice to see a fully-dressed gorgeous male specimen for a change and this one ranked high. The back and forth switch from Past to Present served well in telling this tale. There were times when my threshold for believability was stretched and I had to fight to get back in the story. It’s hard to understand how a young girl of 18 with a very closely-knit family suddenly packs up and runs away for seven years without ever returning home. Even harder to wrap my mind around is the fact that her family continues to carry on a close relationship with the star of her nightmares and not a single member of her family ever discusses this issue with her. I did, however, like the characters of both Will and Sarah. The backup cast was pleasant enough as well. The author has an easy flow to her writing style and the product was very well-edited.

BEFORE READING

For those who still don’t know, it was released earlier! I just got my copy. It sounds faaaaantastic, don’t ya think?
It’ll be my first book by Carey Heywood so I’m a little nervous, because I really want to love it, so crossing my fingers.
Just look at this cover! The only men that are equally sexy to tattooed ones are these in suit ;) Smokin’!

AFTER READING:

HIM - Second Chance Romance Story means you know the drill

It’ll be short review, cause I don’t know what to write exactly. Still trying to decide if like it or like it not so much.

Him is a typical second chance romance kind of story, and the longer I’m thinking about it the more common it seems. Like the millions second chance romance stories before it’s exactly the same as everything I’ve read before in that type of romance. There wasn’t anything I can say I hated , because there are no such things. It’s like with a radio pop song, it’s not what you’d listen to normally, you definitely would not buy a CD or go to concert, but when you drive and there it is, you’d type your fingers and sing the words. You can’t say you hate it, but do you love it? No.
Anyway, Him is a metamorphic pop song, you can say it’s Gangam Style, good to dance to, everyone knows it, and it’s like hundred other songs of this type. Nothing special, but still enjoyable.

But I have to say I really swooned over Will. And he makes me give this book one more star than I'd normally give.

2.5 stars. I liked the characters, but way too many rambling details that were unnecessary to the story development. As such, it took too long for the characters to get back together. Also, more time and description should have been have been spent on rekindling of romance, and frankly, the sex. I am surprised that the next book will go through it all again from His perspective. Don't think I will bother with that one. Good read for young adult reader of romance-not for a hard-core romance enthusiast.

Cute with an abrupt HFN ending. It is clearly paving the way for a book 3, since book 2 is the same time period from the H's POV. Unless book 2 continues past the end of book 1, book 3 will be necessary to really have a complete ending. There is too much uncertainty now, especially with regard to the H's home life.

The book feels very NA because of the conflict, the flashback sequences, and the fact that there are no real sex scenes - everything is fade to black. At first the alternating from current time to 7 years earlier works well. It helps draw out the drama about what happened to break up the H and h. After a while, once that is disclosed, however, it becomes less interesting. Especially because we never see any of the other characters except for her BFF, Sawyer.

While I would be interested in the H's POV, I hate reading about the same events all over again. I have yet to find a series where I'm not bored by the repetition. I prefer the traditional style books where the author is skilled enough to convey enough of both POVs in a single book. So while it would be interesting to see how this beta hero handled the separation, I'm not sure I'm interested enough in book 2. And, for that matter, I'm not sure how I feel about reading the rest of the story if there should be a book 3.

I'm trashing this book. If you find that exciting, please go ahead and read at your own discretion. It is advised because I can't be "tantalising" and basically always include plot spoilers.

•Sarah was pathetic. Past and present. Jeeze, could she be anymore desperate for a guy she thought betrayed her?

•Will was insensitive, and blind "pre-dating" her. After that he was attentive and cherished her. But even though he met her in the 7th grade - he dated several girls, and lost his virginity to the bitchiest one of the lot who was responsible for their break up - despite being in love with Sarah who secretly loved him back (even if he didn't know it). His virginity loss to that girl rattled me because that happened senior year, right before he ended up with Sarah. So, they finally declare their feelings and start dating. Pet peeve - Sarah lost her virginity to him and never dated anyone post 7th grade. He got all of her intimately, so I saw where her vulnerabilities as a young adult came from when the doubt creeped in. Anyway, it didn't bother, bother me, but I like equal footing which is why I was so glad she wasn't celibate post-Will, and neither was he.

•Juvenile, and there was no communication - not only between them, but her family... Present - how the f*ck does she not know her brother's girlfriend of 2 years. Past - how did they break up over a silly misunderstanding? It's not the 15th century. Will didn't even bother to chase her for answers and then 7 years go by. I mean "answers" - not just drop by after finding out where she was, watch her laugh with some random guy she wasn't even with and driving away never to look back.

•Present- why is her family happy go lucky with Will? He's her ex. Immediately that means bad blood (TAYLOR SWIFT). That doesn't mean he secretly chills with them for the 7 years she's been away, becomes her brother's best man, and her family have no regards for her feelings even if they don't know the "full story". I'd burn my family for that.

•Past - when random girl, Sawyer, first meets Sarah after she runs away, she just takes her in. Lo and behold they are bffs now but a stranger doing that is one of the biggest no's of safety.

•You don't uproot your life because you think your boyfriend cheated on you. Lol not in 24 hours. And no parent would allow their 18 year old daughter to leave like that with a "note" saying "Mum gonna hit the road." Must have been some magical voodoo note to hypnotise some shitty parents.

•The story finished at around the iBook page 700. There was 200 additional pages of bull and irrelevancy.

•Lastly, when they come back together in a typical second chance way - they pick up from where they left off like, oh, idk, shit doesn't change from when your 18 to 25.

Moving on, even though I didn't like it, I'm sure others will. I'm just picky.

****** 4.5 STARS BABY!!!! ******

This was so good! I LOVED it! There is something so sweet and satisfying about friends to lovers stories. They are often angsty and very emotional because of all the history involved. This was no different and so far the best more than friends story I've read!

Sarah and Will have been best friends for-evah. She has always felt something more than friendship for him but never shared her feelings. Until senior year in highschool when everything changed for the better and for the worse. When things couldn't get any better and the love between Sarah and Will couldn't get any deeper, a turn of events forces Sarah to flee and never look back.

Seven years later, Will represents the benchmark all other guys are compared too. He has set the bar so high that Sarah has never been able to move on. She has become successful and despite never entering another serious relationship, Sarah is keeping herself together.

Her brother's wedding forces her to return home. On the flight there, her one and only, the man that no other can compare to, the one that shattered her heart, is on the same plane. And attending her bother's wedding!!!

The book takes off from there and flips between past and present. The past allows us to see how Sarah and Will eventually hooked up, how they felt about each other and ultimately what forced Sarah to run. I loved seeing those parts because the author did a fantastic job of portraying eighteen year olds in love. The angst and purity of feeling was so real and spot-on. I remembered how every little thing was such a big deal and how every emotion was so extreme. Oh, the drama!

The present was so poignant because we see how affected Sarah still is, how much she still hurts when forced to deal with Will all over again. I know he was hurting too and his confusion as to why she ran was very fresh. He was devastated when Sarah took off and I loved seeing how each ones misconceptions were erased. I especially loved knowing what Will did after Sarah left, because I was wondering that the whole time.

I CAN'T wait for HER, the book in Will's POV!!! I can only imagine the profound loss he felt when Sarah left and because I LOVED, LOVED this so much, I am hotly anticipating that one. Now the reason for 4.5 stars? FADE TO BLACK.

YEP. I GOT FADE TO BLACK FOR SEX!

There was lots of emotional angst, foreplay, kissing, touching, sexual tension...but NO SEX!!! Well, there was sex happening, but not detailed happenings!! come on! we are adults, some more voyeuristic than others, ;-00, but please!! HER needs to alleviate this problem!

Loved this!

3.5 stars after 2nd read in 2018

2015 Review:

4 Stars

Best Bit: It's so hard to rate this book. I thought the first half was FANTASTIC! Totally loved it and was absolutely immersed in the love story between HIM and HER. I especially loved the flashbacks to their high school days and loved reading about how their friendship blossomed into love. I kept bookmarking pages because I knew I'd want to re-read them all again. Yep, the first half of this book was definately worth a five-star LOVED IT ratinng.

Worst Bit: ... I don't know... it just seemed like the conflict happened because the author knew there had to be a conflict... but it wasn't a very good one. This lost a star for me.

Funniest bit: The cinema double date was very Joey/Dawson/Jen/ Pacey ( a nod to all of you who remember and understand Dawson Creek references) and I was reading with a giggle.

Best character: HIM (Will) for the first half of the book. I loved his energy and total devotion to HER (Sarah).
And Jared for the second half. "What happens to Jared??" I wanted to scream when the book ended. Even the "Dude" talk was funny! Perhaps he's in the next one...but I won't hold my breath. (Not having much of a resolution to this part of the storyline lost another half star... but very reluctantly. I think I'm still raw!)

Most complex obstacle: Queen Bees.

Recommended for : lovers of highschool sweethearts/ second chances.

I recieved an ARC from Carey Heywood for an honest review.

Review:

"It's him. The goddamned reason I haven't been home in seven years just happens to be on my plane. The last time I had seen him was that night. His eyes meet mine and I watch the recognition pass over them."

This book was such a lovely story of love and loss and then love again (but not loss in the sense you think). The events of one night led Sarah Miller to leave everything she had ever known behind and start afresh somewhere new. That included leaving her best friend:

"My heartbreak over losing him had been twofold, since before he even knew I loved him, he had been my best friend."

On the surface she never looked back. She focused on getting through college, getting herself a job and starting up her own company. So engrossed in work, she hoped not to have time to think about "him." But he was always there. Every living breathing moment he was in her thoughts, she couldn't escape him:

"Most days I do everything in my power to stay busy in the hope of not thinking about him. Seeing him, being in his car, this will clearly set me back years."

But what was it that happened that night? Don't worry, this one didn't take me down a dark road but it did keep me reading because I had to know why. And then just as the reason was revealed, I discovered there were two reasons!!! Both heart breaking, especially as Sarah was only eighteen, getting ready to go to college and having just got together with the guy she had loved forever. Her life had suddenly fallen into place and then in one night, it was all taken away:

"I lost a piece of myself that night, and in all of these years, I have never found it. That night changed me. I was so naive and trusting and mostly in love."

This book was told with chapters from the present and the past but they linked perfectly and as each on ended, I couldn't wait to read the next because it would give me another part of the puzzle. It was lovely watching Will and Sarah's relationship progress from friendship into something more when they were eighteen. Young love is so sweet and it definitely left my heart all happy and fluttery. When they reconnected at the wedding, I was rooting for them to get back together and I wasn't the only one. There were even characters in the book pushing them together. It was obvious they both still had feelings for each other and that they belonged together but Sarah was stubborn, refusing to hear him out.... yes there were a few "come on woman, hear the poor guy out" moments. Unfortunately she couldn't get past the hurt:

"I gave you everything once. Now I have nothing left to give you."

Will Price was a hottie but so wonderful and caring and sweet with it. Can you tell I liked him!!! (That lip biting thing he kept doing... mmmm.) And that tattoo... wow. He left me in a puddle of goo after that revelation. Will was so in love with Sarah and he was trying everything to understand what went wrong. I really felt for him when she kept pushing him away. And Sarah, part of me could completely understood her behaviour, especially since she had been so young when her world had crumbled. But part of me really wanted her to say her piece, just let it all out. Ok so maybe I was getting impatient .... I was desperate and I hate suspense!!! lol Neither of them had moved on over the last seven years, each of them spoilt for anyone else:

"If I'm being honest with myself, I use all of the travelling for my job as a reason not to let anyone get too close. What's the point? I met the love of my life in middle school. Problem is he hadn't felt the same way."

Sarah's best friend Sawyer was also such a brilliant member of the cast and just what Sarah had needed in her life. That girl had me in stitches at times and definitely brought humour to the book.

I read this book in one sitting because I really wanted Will and Sarah to get their HEA. This is a standalone so I guess it doesn't take a lot of imagination to work out the end but their journey to get them to that happy place is definitely worth the read. Although there were no huge heart sinking moments, Will and Sarah's story still had my heart doing all sorts from joyful flutters to a little bit of that "pain in the heart" thing you hear me talk about often (it happens... sometimes my heart hurts for characters!!!)

Lucky for us, Carey Heywood is giving us "Her" soon. Yes we are getting the story from Will's POV and I cannot wait!!!!

"I felt useless, I felt branded beneath my skin by a girl who left without even saying goodbye."

I rated this book 4 Stars

I've been SO excited to read Him and I'm thankful to Carey for the ARC in exchange for a review.

What can I say? I'm a sucker for a story that involves two best friends falling in love. And for some reason, I love it even more when they lose that love and meet up again years later. All the pain and angst just makes for a great story.

Sarah and Will have been best friends since seventh grade when they were assigned to do an English project together. Once it was completed, they hung out every day. She's been in love with him since. She also knows/thinks that he could never feel the same. Sarah is also wrong. They date briefly in high school before he crushes her heart. There is no way for Sarah to deal, so she takes off and doesn't speak to him. They have no contact for seven years.

I absolutely LOVE stories that flip back and forth between past and present events. It gives a feeling of re-living parts of their lives we didn't see. Carey Heywood executed this style flawlessly. There is no confusion and I found myself in a craze whenever she'd cut off the past scenes to bring us back to the now.

It was easy to see why Sarah fell in love with Will. The characters are brilliantly developed. I could/would have been friends with Sarah. She was the tomboy that was more middle class. Her wardrobe consisted mainly of jeans and t-shirts which is what I always dressed in. She is easy to relate to and extremely likable. You feel her emotions as if they're your own. Then, there is Will. Will there ever be an end to great guys in books? He was the popular, attractive, amazing and awesome guy that every girl wanted, Sarah included. Except he was always dating someone else. He is adorably sweet and protective of Sarah. His looks and his actions will make you see why she never risked letting her feelings known. I can (almost) understand not wanting to lose him as a friend over the chance of more. Their interactions were so cute and it's obvious to us that they feel the same about each other. I wanted to jump into the book and knock sense into them both. When they finally took the plunge, I was ecstatic. I knew from the description some heartache was coming, and while reading, I thought I was clued in as to what caused it. This is where the timeline jumps make things so much more awesome. Just when you're about to find out a piece of the past, you're thrown to the present time and have to wait. I enjoyed that Heywood didn't drag out their reunion the way it could have been. It was early on and unexpected. I felt EVERYTHING once she saw him again. From that point on, you just want to know why and how they stayed apart. And through the magic of book time machines, we get all those answers. Some sooner than others.

I absolutely devoured this book. I found myself unable to put it down until it was finished. I needed to know what happened! Why did she run away? Why didn't he find her? Are they going to get back together??? This is absolutely a book I could read over and over. Him turned out to be all I wanted and more. I now look forward to reading Her!

Wow... I was GRIPPED!!! I devoured this novel AND its sequel in one day.... As the titles suggest, Book 1 ("Him") & Book 2 ("Her") tell the same story from her & his points of view, respectively. I have to admit that I WEEPED through parts of the first book. The author does such an incredible job of describing Sarah's pain... her anguish jumps off of each page & pierces the reader right in the chest. The feelings of betrayal, isolation & inadequacy are so heartbreaking & VERY realistic. To feel like you're not good enough & then to have people repeatedly point it out to you. *sigh* I could truly relate to Sarah-- I could feel her pain & I could understand why she did what she did. Furthermore, I thought that the flashbacks were very well-done. It isn't easy to write a novel that shifts back & forth in time between the past & the present, but the author did it seamlessly.

3.5 Stars!

I thought this was a really sweet, cute story. It was a super quick, short read.

Him is Will. And this is Sarah's story. This is your classic friends to lovers story. Will and Sarah had been BFFs ever since Will moved to town. Sarah was in love with Will and Will was in love with Sarah. They eventually get on the same page and spend the majority of their senior year of high school together and in love.

But something happens after they graduate, causing Sarah to leave town and never come back. Him is all Sarah's POV. It flashes back between the past (when Will and Sarah first meet up until the big "event") to the present (where Sarah is headed back home for the first time in seven years for her brother's wedding).

I have to say I like this style of writing as we are left with a bit of mystery and also a slow progression of the story. On the flight back home for the wedding is none other than Sarah's long lost love, Will. It turns out Will still lives in their home town and is in fact very close to Sarah's family.

During the week Sarah is home its evident that despite their abrupt separation seven years prior, Will and Sarah are still very much in love with each other. Neither one able to move on from the other. Will finally gets Sarah to open up about what happened seven years ago. At first, I was a little disappointed in one of Sarah's reasons but the other made some sense.

Ultimately it all boiled down to miscommunication and once the "air was cleared", Will and Sarah could move forward together. We don't get much of an epi or anything. I am guessing though that since the next book--Her--will be Will's POV we will get more at the end of that one. Fingers crossed.

Overall this was an enjoyable read. It was a standalone with a HEA.

This would have worked if it had been a historical romance. You know, when people weren't able to communicate easily.
Sarah hasn't been home for seven years. We can see how her family is close, how they love each other, especially how her brother loves her. And, yet, we are supposed to believe that she has never met his fiancee (they have been together for two years now), that she hasn't got a clue that Will is there all the time. There are tons of things which bugged me in this book.
Oh, and the reason why she left! I can understand a mild misunderstanding about that supposedly horrible reason, but not seven years away.
As I said, I think this would have have been pretty nice historical romance.

Let me start off by saying i liked Will but i felt like with the book jumping from past to present i couldnt really get a feel for them as they versus when they were younger.I did enjoy the book but if you are looking for hot and steamy this is not the one for you but if you are looking for a feel good read about first love then you will enjoy it..I thought the authors writing flowed throughout the book so all and all a quick fun easy read..

I know you've seen this book buzzing around by now. Just finished and oh my gosh was a stinking cute story. I absolutely LOVED it and it was so refreshing to read a story that didn't have animalistic sex scenes chapter after chapter. LOVE love stories that are more realistic. HIGHLY recommend this book <3 and can't wait to read the next :)

Cute storyline and had me cheering for them both. The way it's written had me on the edge of my seat as it starts off really well with anticipation not telling you the full story just yet, but gets a bit dragged out towards the end and a little ridiculous over a little misunderstanding. Love the characters but the climax could have played a bit better in my opinion. Overall enjoyed the read for the unique way the author wrote it out.

I am in love with Him! There, I said it. Heywood has hit an emotional nerve with her fourth novel and I am in awe of her talents. The novel switches back and forth between past and present and, as true testament to Heywood’s skills as an author, you are never once confused or uninterested. I found myself diving into each chapter just dying to know what happened in the past and needing to know what is going to happen next.
The premise of the novel is that Sarah must return home after being away for the last seven years for her brother’s wedding. On the flight home, she runs into him and is immediately drawn to “the blue eyes that owned” her.
Where their story really begins is years earlier when they are innocent middle school students assigned to work on an English project together. There is a part of Sarah in all of us – the shy, uncertain young woman who doesn’t see her own worth or beauty for that matter. This is so not an insta-love kind of book. The love that Sarah and Him share is developed over many years. They’re best friends so when they get together, it truly warms at your heart.
“Life sucks that way. You don’t get to choose who you fall for.”
The constant push and pull of switching from past and present is so beautifully done because even though you know they’ve already had some sort of falling out – obviously after not having seen each other for seven years – you are drawn to the story of how they get together and how they intend to move forward now that they’re seeing each other for the first time since high school.
They are so sweet together and you feel so much sympathy for Sarah and her unrequited love. You can’t help but root for her against the “B” who he’s with.
“No matter how much it breaks my heart to see him with her, I’d do anything for him. Sometimes you just can’t help it when you’re in love with your best friend, and he has no idea.”
I absolutely love that they know each other’s quirks and mannerisms – it makes their love so honest and pure. They are so freaking adorable together that I’m pretty certain I need a cavity filled!
As for the minor characters, I’m in love with them too. Brian, Sarah’s brother and His best friend, is so great as a big brother. He’s a real guy’s guy, but at the same time he is not so macho that he can’t be there for his little sister. The rest of Sarah’s family is amazing as well and you can just feel the love they have for each other.
Sawyer, her BFF and roomie, is freaking hilarious. There were moments that I actually laughed at loud at her craziness. I felt like I was talking to my own bestie when Sawyer was in the story.
No review would be complete without a drool session over Him. And oh.my.lord is he droolworthy! Playful and unabashedly in love with Sarah, he is the complete book boyfriend package. It absolutely broke my heart to hear his point of view of how he felt about Sarah when they were apart, but it also made me love him even more.
“Please know that you have always been all I’ve ever wanted.”
^^Yep, he says that. What girl doesn’t dream of hearing those words? He is dreamy, smokin’ hot, has no problems telling Sarah exactly how much he loves her. I want Him all for myself.
Heywood has written an emotional love story that stands the test of time and I can honestly say that I cannot wait for Her just so I can see more of my new favorite book couple.

"You are not plain. You are beautiful, Sarah, inside and out."

I adore Carey Heywood so when she asked me if I would like an ARC of Him I almost passed out, because holy crap, this book was amazing! I loved this author's other book, Stages of Grace so when I heard about an even hotter book from her, I was dying for it! There is something about this author's writing that makes her stand out compared to some other authors! Her writing style is fresh and straight to the point! I feel like I don't have to read every word in her books to understand what's happening in them and I love books like that! I read this book in two sittings as I just couldn't put it down! I wasn't expecting the plot to have so much in it, but it was beautifully written! I also loved that the plot went backwards in time, which I wasn't expecting, and showed how the main characters relationship blossomed and then also showed the main characters in the present and how certain circumstances had brought them together again! I thought that this was the perfect way for this book to be written! There was also so much sexual tension in the plot it was unreal! I completely adored it! It made me swoon like mad! The plot just kept getting better and better as well and my anticipation just kept rising! The characters were also amazing! Sarah was the main character and I connected with her instantly! I thought that she was quite a funny character and I liked that she tried to show restraint with her feelings for Will after seeing him after all that time, even though she did still have feelings for him! I enjoyed younger Sarah as she was so strong and I just adored her as much as I adored older Sarah! Will was hot! He was sweet and caring and absolutely perfect! I liked younger Will, but I adored older Will as well! I loved how much he tried to show Sarah that he still loved her and how much he tried to prove his love for her! I also think that Will and Sarah's relationship developed perfectly and at the perfect pace! Even when they were younger! I can't believe how much I loved them as a couple! The other characters in this book were just as amazing as Sarah and Will! They all brought something to the story as well! I know that there is going to be another book called, Her, and I already know who it is about and a few things that happens in it and all I can say is that I am now going to be begging Carey for it! Plus, how hot is that cover?! I melted when the author showed me it! It is super hot! Big thank you to Carey for an ARC of Him and also for mentioning me in the Acknowledgements!

I loved this book! First thing I have to mention is the "catchy" title and the awesome cover.....major love for both. I also really like that Carey tells this story in the present and the past so we get a more detailed background into Sarah and Will's relationship....it makes the story more believable...a more realistic love story! 4 stars.

Will and Sarah were best friends throughout high school. They spent all their time together and knew everything there was to know about the each other. Sarah is in love with Will, but she is shy and tom-boyish and Will is the handsome, popular guy that all the girls want. What Sarah doesn't realize is that even though Will has a girlfriend he loves Sarah too, he just never thought Sarah would be interested.

Things begin to change their senior year in high school and they confess their feelings for each other and end up going from best friends to the perfect couple....so in love with each other. Even though Sarah has doubts about why Will would want to be with her when he could have anyone, everything is so perfect. One horrible night, causes Sarah to run, and run as fast and as far as she can get from their relationship and she never sees Will again. Now, 7 years later she is forced to return home for her brothers wedding…time to face the music and her past. This is where things get very agnsty and I could feel every single one of Sarah's emotions!

Sarah has avoided home, becoming a workaholic to keep her thoughts away from the one guy who shattered her. She avoids relationships because even though she has tried they never really work out. Once she gets home and realizes that Will is still there....never really left....is in her brothers wedding, still visits her family, it's all Sarah can do to hold it together. Looking at Will she is reminded of everything that they had and it's tearing her apart, she just wants to get through the wedding so she can get home. Will is handsome, funny, attentive and he wants Sarah. He doesn't understand why Sarah ran and will do anything to win her back. Once Sarah learns the truth of what happened so long ago, can Will convince her that they really belong together? Read on to find out!

"There isn’t anyone else for me. I’m not going to let you run again, I’m not.”

I def recommend you read this book.....This is a story about your first true-love, friendship, heart-break, misunderstanding, and a second chance at love! Congrats Carey......can't wait to get my hands on HER!
