Baseball has never been sexier in an all-new novel by New York Times Bestselling Author, K. Bromberg.

Easton Wylder is baseball royalty. The game is his life. His passion. His everything.

So, when an injury threatens to end Easton’s season early, the team calls in the renowned physical therapist, Doc Dalton, to oversee his recovery. Except it’s not Doc who greets Easton for his first session, but rather his daughter, Scout. She may be feisty, athletic, defiant, and gorgeous, but Easton is left questioning whether she has what it takes to help him.

Scout Dalton’s out to prove a female can handle the pressure of running the physical therapy regimen of an MLB club. And that proof comes in the form of getting phenom Easton Wylder back on the field. But getting him healthy means being hands-on.

And with a man as irresistible as Easton, being hands-on can only lead to one thing, trouble. Because the more she touches him, the more she wants him, and she can’t want him. Not when it’s her job to side in the club’s best interest if he’s ready to play.

But when sparks fly and fine lines are crossed, can they withstand the heat or is one of them bound to get burned?

You just can't beat the person who never gives up. ~Babe Ruth

Sitting in the stands watching your favorite baseball team play is a high that dives off the diamond straight to you as the energy engulfs the air. The fans are engaged and intently watching the players with baseball greats in tight pants an added bonus. Adrenaline courses through your veins as you hope your team wins. You can’t help but feel alive. The Player by K. Bromberg made me feel ALIVE with its energy and emotion! Pulse-pounding and passionate, The Player penetrates the heart like a fastball, soaring straight to the soul!

When your heart is still racing and your pulse is pounding after you finish a book, it’s the highest of highs…the best feeling ever!!! I rode the highest of highs with The Player. This story SPARKED TO LIFE, and oh did I feel every flame…every tremor…every word…EVERYTHING! Easton and Scout together were EVERYTHING! The Player was EVERYTHING!!!

The Player held my heart soon after I turned the first page, never letting go…I never let go. This baseball book instantly catapulted itself into my heart and mind with a force I was powerless to stop. The Player ASSAULTED me, its angst was my adrenaline and ache; its pendulum of fire and ice was my passion; and its power was my power too. This soul-searing story struck me like a fast ball, fast and furiously. The Player was all fired up and ready to ignite all of the feels where I could not help but feel every one.

The Player — so powerful and passionate —POSSESSED me. I could not devour this heart-stopping sexy and strong story fast enough. The baseball meets romance plot is powerful, Easton and Scout are combustible together — so raw and real — and Bromberg's writing is off-the-charts incredible, flowing with a heady mix of feels and fire. My feels were on fire, engulfed in emotions that were flames, blazing with a dual dose of heady heat and heart.

The dedication made me smile.
The dedication is as powerful and poignant as the book.
The dedication is personal, a glimpse into the real woman behind the author...not K. Bromberg but Kristy.
The dedication is EVERYTHING.

Not even ten percent in and this story was already 5 stars. INSTANT LOVE!!! K. Bromberg quickly hit this baseball book out of the park, and the game had barely begun. I KNEW that, being a sports romance addict, The Player would be a huge hit but I did not expect my heart to be hit the hardest. I did not expect to NEED The Player so very much. This raw and riveting romance was my oxygen to breathe, as I NEEDED The Player, pure power and passion in words.

Easton Wylder is a baseball god. A legend on and off the field. Smokin' hot. A player with a heart of gold. A super star who has to defy the odds of playing baseball again after a big injury.

Scout Dalton is beautiful, brave, and bold. A female in a man's world of baseball. A ball-buster in a ball game-focused world. A healer as a physical therapist who has to live up to a legend.

Scout is partnered with Easton, her new patient. Fire and ice. Open and closed. Hero and heroine.

"If you're going to bust my chops, Wilder, you should know that I can give as good as I get."

Like the rest of K. Bromberg's heroines, Scout is strength in spades with quick wit. I LOVED this sassy spitfire of a heroine! Scout batted virtual balls with the player, a battle of banter that was charged with electricity....so enticing and entertaining. Words were FIRE, burning through the pages.

"I'm a hard girl to please."

Patient blends with player.

"A demanding woman indeed," he murmurs before giving me that tender type of kiss that reverberates to your toes and then all the way back up until it slams into your belly.

Lines are blurred...maybe crossed.

Oh the heat that SMOLDERS from this story!

"Good thing I've got a big bat and know how to use it."

There may be no going back now...

"I think I got to you. I think when you close your eyes, you think about me. I think you don't want to, but you do, because God knows I think about you, Scout."

The push and pull of The Player was the sweetest ache.

I SWOONED, as Easton's words MELTED ME like molten lava. Easton and Scout have combustible chemistry paired with passion that's difficult to ignore...a fight neither will win. The push and pull. The fire and ice. One or both may crash and burn. This game may end in a shut-out where only one player comes out on top.

This baseball romance has heart...ALL of the HEART. The Player touched my heart so many times that I lost count. The passion bled through the pages, each word a drop that oozed to life. Tears fell hard and fast like baseballs, as these characters' pain became mine. I felt every word penetrate through me, pounding every emotion: smiles, swoon, and tears...I FELT IT ALL!

The Player hits hard like a fast ball, feels soaring all of the way across the bases! K. Bromberg takes you on the diamond, in the locker room, so close to this baseball game that you're part of this baseball team too. You can't help but surrender to this sports story—baseball meets romance—as emotions entangle around every word like a mitt to a baseball.

There is one constant in K. Bromberg's books: Live life to the fullest. Take a chance...a risk. Make every moment matter. This book and all of K. Bromberg's other masterpieces matter.

I went into The Player expecting a sizzling sports romance with a few feels. What I received was ALL OF THE FEELS and so much more. The Player is perseverance. The Player is power. The Player is passion. The Player is a punch to the heart. The Player is K. Bromberg's poignant words wrapped around a baseball story woven in love. The Player is PURE PERFECTION. The Player has ALL OF THE SPARK...ALL OF HEART...ALL OF THE SOUL. All of MY heart. All of MY soul.

K. Bromberg brought her A-game out to play in The Player, a grand-slam of a baseball romance that hits the heart and slays the soul. I LOVED The Player so much! A 2017 super star, The Player is the best baseball romance I've ever met! A MUST-READ ROMANCE!!! This baseball-meets-romance book—an ACE—is in the big leagues! I'm not ready for this game to be over.

"I've played on grass my whole life, Scout. There's no need for me to see what's out there when it's green beneath my feet."

Oh, Easton...

First let’s just talk about this cover. That mouth. I fell in love with those lips. Can you believe he’s a teacher? Jesus. They didn’t make teachers like HIM, when I was in school. It’s probably a good thing his students are pre-hormones. I honestly closed the book just to have the cover loading screen reappear once or twice... okay it was more like twenty.

But I repeat.... Those. Lips.

On to the story... Easton Wylder was having the season of his life until a dirty play places that delicious backside on the bench. Enter Scout. His new physical therapist, who like Easton, is living in the shadow of her father’s legacy. First meets, witty banter and the push – pull begins. Easton HAS to rehab his arm and Scout has to prove herself and meet the deadline given by the team. But with all those hours with her hands on THAT body, things heat up.

I think what I loved most about Easton and Scouts relationship was how all in Easton was. He wasn’t over the top in outpouring his feelings, but his inner musing let you know exactly what he wanted. I loved his fight to keep her fear at bay – how he didn’t struggle with understanding her. The drama in this book is more about Scout’s feelings and the plot that is playing in the background – I loved being able to focus on these two – while the story played out.

There is a hint of the feels I had when I first experienced K. Bromberg – a little taste of Colton lingered in the air. I think it was Easton’s cockiness and swagger. I loved it. I am not a huge fan of heroines, it’s really hard to find one that I can honestly say I love – but Scout comes close. I loved the shoe being on the other foot, the girl being the one with one foot out the door – ready to run. I can’t imagine the stress that Scout was under, toss in the attention of Easton... well that’s enough to put any woman off her A game.

The Player was an instant hit! K. Bromberg knocks it out of the park, delivering a love affair that has the pages burning up. I can’t wait for The Catch. Like, I literally CANNOT wait. I need this book right now.

K. Bromberg continues to slay the romance book world as hearts and ovaries will explode and swoon over Easton Wylder. Yes, my fellow romance fanatics, K. Bromberg delivers another sexy romance that will have you saying HOME fucking RUN!!!

The Player is a sports romance done right. It was bold, refreshing, fun, sexy, sweet, and passionate. But mostly, this book was utterly addictive. Bromberg’s sexy writing is the real winner!!!! Yes, she is one of those authors who doesn’t need to try hard to grab your attention because she had it the moment you read the first page.

#ThePlayer_kbromberg

Easton Wylder is baseball royalty but this star athlete finds himself not on the baseball mound but instead on the sidelines due to an injury. So enter his new physical therapist, Scout Dalton.

Right off the bat, Scout and Easton have this sexual tension that soon transitions into something more than physical. Walls are being broken. Emotions begin to take root. And most importantly, ovaries are exploding as Easton’s sexy mouth has a way with words. So can two people who have been living in the shadow’s of their fathers break free and step into their own light?

photo 0ce978a3e793ea4c7f45d4f9846d01_zpszaxsqxhg.gif Right now, I'm going to kiss you senseless, Scout, and I want to fucking enjoy it. So, for the love of God, woman, use those lips of yours on me and not on words.”

Gaahhh!!! Excuse me while I squeal as I reread the quotes I bookmarked in this book. Honestly there is not much else for me to say because The Player was AMAZING!!!! There is no striking out when it come to K. Bromberg because this author knows how to capture her reader’s attention. While this book was dripping with lots of sexiness and steam, Bromberg beautifully balances this book with raw emotions. She allowed readers to feel for her characters as they try to step out from the shadows.

The writing was superb. The characters were fantastic. And the story was a hit. All in all, The Player is a must read!!!! Can’t wait for the final conclusion of Scout and Easton in The Catch.

I read K. Bromberg's Driven series about three years ago, and I fell hard for Colton and Rylee.  Their racing world made my heart accelerate.

K. Bromberg brought her A game again....this time to the world of professional baseball with the first installment in her new two book series. Easton Wylder gets injured, and Scout Dalton has been hired as his PT to get him off of the DL.  This job is Scout's chance to secure a contract with Easton's team that will hopefully allow her to carry on her father's legendary PT practice working with baseball stars. She ends up repairing a lot more than his shoulder. She mends his soul.  Easton ends up doing a little PT on Scout's broken heart as well.  She has some serious abandonment issues. Everyone she loves ends up leaving her. The two get each other, and their chemistry is the stuff that would light up a baseball stadium.

Both are living under their fathers' respective shadows. Easton's father is a famous all-star player. Is The Player being played...who knows the real score? Boom
The End. Omg, I need the next book now. I loved The Player and can't wait to see how Easton and Scout's relationship plays out when The Catch releases on June 29th. Game on Kristy!

This book has EVERYTHING and is EVERYTHING. It has an incredible amount of heart, fabulous twists and turns, and limitless raw realism throughout every page. Few books make me feel completely and utterly vulnerable like this one did from the very beginning. There is no hiding or avoiding this story along with its heady implications and undeniable truth. What a perfect masterpiece that is infused with pure and honest love and wrapped in strong cords of hope! This story will steal your heart with no hesitation, and you will make sure that it never gives it back.

I have never met characters that have so irrevocably wrecked me in every way possible. They are brilliant in their inception, fantastic with their interactions, and extraordinary in their development. Without a doubt, this cast is life changing for a heart that is searching for something real and something challenging and something wholly original. I can’t sing the praises of this book any higher as my heart has been absolutely consumed and downright transformed by its beauty and magnificence.

K. Bromberg NEEDS to be on your top author list. This is the first book I have read by this incredible author, and I already know how tremendously captivating her writing is! I am hooked, and seriously can’t wait to read another of her marvelous books! There is not much originality in this world, but you will find that and so much more within the pages of this epic masterpiece.

K. Bromberg delivers a sports romance masterpiece with The Player. I fell head over heels for Easton and Scout, the delicious slow build of their relationship and the steady unraveling of their personalities and pasts. I was immediately captivated by the palpable sexual tension and utterly electric chemistry that sizzled between the hero and heroine – feeling every bit of their fragile restraint as I lost myself to their story. K. Bromberg brilliantly brought the professional sports atmosphere to life with the vibrant cast of secondary characters and inarguably evocative imagery. I swear I was experiencing the sights and sounds of major league baseball first hand as the author wrapped me up in the excitement of scorching summer nights spent beneath the glare of stadium lights. K. Bromberg’s lyrical prose and inherent understanding of human emotion made Easton and Scout’s journey an unforgettable reading experience and has me desperate for the next chapter in this inimitable couple’s story.

Easton was absolutely swoon-worthy, the kind of book boyfriend that melts your heart with his swagger and charm only to completely steal it with his surprising sweetness and thoughtful nature. I loved getting to know this character and exploring the subtle complexities of his relationship with his father, his role on the team and his history with the game. As Easton opened up to Scout and revealed his thoughts and fears to her, I found myself audibly sighing. He was unsure and vulnerable in a way that felt genuine and easy to relate to. K. Bromberg definitely knows how to write unforgettable heroines. Scout was feisty, intelligent, and completely devoted to the people and career she loved. I enjoyed exploring the dichotomy of this character, Scout’s ease around the team and confidence in her work a direct contradiction to the insecure girl who struggled tirelessly to make her father proud and protect her heart at all costs. I’m excited to see where K. Bromberg plans on taking this character as this story continues. This lovable heroine definitely has me rooting for her.

In addition to being exquisitely written, The Player was perfectly paced. An effortless balance of poignant conversation, sizzling encounters, adorable flirtations and intriguing baseball politics, this novel was one I just had to devour. I loved getting a glimpse at a new side of the sports world, experiencing Easton and Scout’s sweat, tears and emotional vulnerability as I read. K. Bromberg’s insight into this couple’s hearts and minds as they traversed Easton’s injury and rehabilitation made for an emotionally honest and decidedly memorable sports romance. Ending on a cliffhanger that left me swearing up and down the final page, I’m desperate for more of this incredibly addictive couple. K. Bromberg has once again totally hooked me and I can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve next for these two. The Player was sexy, fun and incredibly sweet – another must read novel from this talented author!

Holy Moly... I do not know what I expected from Bromberg's latest release, but whatever it was the final product well and truly exceeded my expectations. From the outset The Player was intriguing, everything about Easton and Scout invited you to want more, from their resilience and strength individually, the their explosive chemistry together.

"There's something about Easton that makes me want when I shouldn't, need when I needn't, and desire when I know it'll be disastrous."

On the road to recovery after a shoulder injury the last person Easton wants to deal with is a pretty young thing pretending to have the skill required to help him heal and get him back to the game he loves. Easton is the epitome of a major league star, he's cocksure, sexy as hell, talented and has a considerable pedigree. After a shock accident on the field Easton has seen more time on the bench than ever before in his illustrious career. When he meets Scout Dalton he's ready to dismiss her like some many others before her, until she shows him that she's not to be messed with. Stuck between the pressure to succeed and live up to his famous father's reputation and trying to rediscover his passion for the game he once loved, Easton is desperate to get back on the field.

"I've had enough people in my life leave me, Easton. I'm not walking willingly into a situation that sets me up for that hurt."

Scout knows all about pressure, about wanting to measure up to her famous father. As the daughter of arguably one of the best sports physiotherapists in the league, Scout has big shoes to fill. When she is given the opportunity to work with Easton she knows it's her shot for a permanent role with the Aces, a coveted role that would fulfil her fathers' only unchecked professional bucket list. Filled with secrets she's desperate to keep hidden, Scout has one mission, to rehab Easton and prove her skill to the powers that be.

"Sympathy will break me, when I can't break."

The Player is arguably one of my favourite titles by Bromberg, filled to the brim with intense chemistry, stormy angst and a story that has you utterly invested from only moments in, there was everything I look for in my next favourite book. While I'm a sucker for anything written by this author, The Player had that something special that's hard to replicate, it has that unquantifiable thing that makes reading so enjoyable, that enviable connection between story and reader that makes it impossible to put down. I wanted more, no... I needed more and because of that I finished in one sitting, bleary eyed, heart racing, utterly spent. Some books leave you feeling sated, some leave you grateful for the journey, Bromberg's ability to weave a tale so eloquently left me desperately wanting more.

From an author who NEVER fails to bring me to my happy place, Bromberg's latest release, THE PLAYER, was EVERYTHING I could have ever wanted in a beautiful, sexy, and sweet sports romance. A man with a passion...a woman with a need to prove herself. They weren't expecting anything from one another, but what they received, was a kind of love and respect that is not easy to walk away from. They filled an unsuspecting need in one another and with every whisper, every touch, every grand gesture, brought them closer and closer to falling over the edge. If you're familiar with this author's writing, you already know that you will DEVOUR each and every page. But with that sense of familiarity, you will be surprised with the amount of depth and heart that Bromberg brings to every single page. Easton and Scout will become an instant addiction.

"You're nothing like I expected."

"I'm never what anyone expects. It's a blessing and a curse."

What starts out as a heated and tension-filled battle of the wills, turns into a beautiful and touching love story where Easton and Scout grow to depend on each other for more than just their bodies, even though the sexual tension is through the roof! They break down each other's walls and slowly but surely start to trust each other. With outside forces trying to break them apart - their jobs, their family - they will have to work harder than ever to maintain the beautiful bond that they have created. The mantra 'Clear mind. Hard heart.' that Scout's father has instilled in her the very beginning starts to matter less and less with every interaction with the charming and infuriating Easton Wylder. He muddles her mind and softens her heart, and soon, the mantra that was all but a shout when she started, has faded to a whisper.

God. Damn.

She's fucking addictive.

I want her.

Her taste.

Must have her.

The scent of her perfume.

Say yes to this, Scout.

The softness of her lips.

Say yes to me.

The tentativeness of her tongue as she fights her will to dive right in.

Let me the fuck in.

Two people living in the shadows of their fathers. Two people with the urge to run. He'll slay every dragon for her. But she has to let him in.

OMG! You guys! As I'm writing this review, I'm having flashbacks of this amazing romance. I can't even tell you how much this book and these characters have touched my heart. THE PLAYER is some of Bromberg's BEST WORK, and I for one, want to DEVOUR it over and over again! Be prepared for the last sentence to leave you absolutely breathless. I wasn't expecting it, but deep down, I know I should have. My heart hurts but I have complete faith that this author will take me where I need to go with Easton and Scout's story. This book, like ALL OTHER from K. Bromberg's work, is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! You WILL NOT get enough of this story. I guarantee it!

Since I don't know a lot about sports, I never know what I'm going to get with a sports romance. I gotta say...this book freakin' rocked! I'm not surprised it was well-written because come on...it's K.Bromberg. She's a talented writer. It's the fact that she can take a baseball sports romance and make me fall in love with not only "The Player," but the game too! Reading it felt so real, as if it was happening to my best buddy! And the love story...it was more. More than I expected...came out of left field (nice pun tee hee) and really knocked it out of the park! Honestly, I don't know where I'm coming up with these because I know zero about baseball and most sports in general, but Kristy made me believe I too could live in that world! Insanity! I finished the book a week ago and I'm still reeling from the ending. Gimme gimme!

The Player was enticing, bold, and 100% addicting! I love a good sports romance. But make it a baseball romance, and I'm a goner! The passion, dedication, and hard work leaped off the pages and immediately consumed my heart.

Austin Aces catcher, Easton Wylder, has known little else besides the game his entire life. So when a dirty play-inducing injury sidelines the baseball star, he'll do whatever it takes to prove his career isn't over.
Physical therapist, Scout Dalton, has the opportunity to do what her famous doctor/father has never done...secure a contract with the Austin Aces. And all it takes is to get Easton back on the field, but in a strict time limit.
Scout's brought in to do her job. But when her job involves the sexy and cocky enigma that is Easton, she's found having a hard heart towards the player will be her most difficult task yet.

The Player fully annihilates your perception of other sports romances! Not just a story about the hot player who gets the girl, but an emotional story about the fear of losing those you love, the doubt and insecurity of a life without passion, and the joy of realizing what love truly means. Easton and Scout's dynamic was perfectly unique in the story, but not without it's flaws or setbacks. Both needed something from the other. But what they weren't expecting was an utterly profound connection to one another that neither knew they were missing. The courage it takes to let someone in, and the apprehension to trust one's true intentions, showcases the strong emotions and concerns real life exhibits.

K. Bromberg has quickly become an instant must-read author for me. Her expressive and fierce writing is brilliantly displayed in The Player. This book challenges your emotions, and inhabits the reader's ability to see beyond what they think they know, and rely on what they feel instead.

The Player was simply suberb! And that ending? Goodness gracious....I need the next one NOW!

5 fanatic stars!

Gah! Baseball has never been sexier indeed!!! Be still my beating heart. All the feels of this book! Wow! I FUCKING LOVE IT, HARD! First few pages and I declared The Player a 5 star read! Again, where is that 10 stars when you needed it the most? Because this book from K. Bromberg is a MASTERPIECE. This is the kind of book you don't want to miss. Again and again, Kristy proved us she can deliver and she never disappoints ever! The Player? It's a FUCKING HOME RUN TO MY HEART!

Just like any other readers, I've been a fan of the author's writing. Over the years, I've been fawning over her releases, reliving each words and lines, re-reading books after books and there was never a dull moment each time. Instead, when I reread her works I can still feel the emotions I felt like the first time I read the book. It never waned but instead grows stronger each time and the scenes keeps feeling so real. Ahhh.. how I love your words Kristy!

The Player is no exception to that. Reading this book feels like I was with them. My God! Easton and Scout is a dream come true! They are EVERYTHING and I love them to pieces. I was so lost in their bubble because I can't help not to. Their push and pull is addicting. Fuck! It was like a drug I cannot resist. I've been drooling over Easton and been cheering over Scout like some gaga. I have all these smile in my face so wide my jaw hurts. Have you ever felt that moment you read a book and then you just pause for a while because you just need to feel it deep in your bones? Gahd! I did that to this book. From the moment they met, to the witty banters, to the walls that crumbled and the sexual tension so thick, to the hot AF sexy scenes and the sweetest of all romance. Shit just got real because it OWNED my heart and mind. The moment they fell in love put me to the highest of highs.
"Right now, I'm going to kiss you senseless, Scout, and I want to fucking enjoy it. So, for the love of God, woman, use those lips of yours on me and not on words."

Gah! This is my drug. The Player is my drug and I am so addicted but wont feel any other way.

Please bear with me with my ramblings because I intend to keep it like that. I have no words to say except that this book is PHENOMENAL, Perfectly written, portrayed and delivered with the characters not just easy to fall in love with but relatable too. Let your understanding of the book stay within the corners of the blurb and that hot as sin cover because I tell you this, there is no better way to read this book except not knowing anything at all. Trust Kristy to take you on a ride because she covered all the bases flawlessly. I was surprised even. But it was the best surprise. It's the, "When you thought you knew what's gonna happen next only to find out you're so wrong after all". Well, that's me after reading this book. Ahhh..I'm still on a high you know...I guess, the wait for book two just officially started. :)

Overall, I highly recommend this book. The Player is more than just a sports romance story. In fact it's everything you never thought it would be. Scenes after scenes were scintillating. It's passionate and powerful at the same time, emotions seeping through the pages. It ended in a cliffy but man it's a good cliffy!!The one you will want because you don't want your favorite characters' story end. No matter how much you wanted the answers that keeps boggling you and your emotions in circus because you felt hanging, you will still accept several cliffhangers, will even plead for more clifffy even because the story, the characters and the emotions feels so ALIVE that you want that connection to keep in there and to never end. Ahhh..this is how good the book is.

THE PLAYER - This is sports romance and K. Bromberg at it's finest!

Powerfully raw, intense and sexy .. a MUST read

I have to be honest and admit that when I read the blurb for The Player by K Bromberg I was skeptical. Over the past year I have read a few novels with a similar story line to them and thought that this was just going to be another carbon copy of those.

WRONG .. Boy was I wrong!

Never judge a book by its cover! A piece of advice that I highly recommend you take when opening up this novel. Easton Wylder is one of those guys who knows he is the best of the best. He has it all, until an injury sidelines him. When the gorgeous Scout Dalton walks into his life to assist with his rehabilitation instead of her father Doc, he’s left wondering where she has what it takes to help him.
Okay so enough about the blurb! What you need to know is how powerfully raw this story line is and how it pulls on your heart strings. I love to read, but this book gripped me so tightly that I felt every single emotion Kristy’s lead characters did. It was as though she had put her heart and soul into writing Easton and Scout’s story. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and man you have to believe me when I tell you that you can feel the heat coming straight off the pages. There’s a passion between these two that can’t be denied, nor can the goodness they bring to each other.

It’s the ending though, that surprised me. I had an assumption of how I believed it was going to end, yet I was wrong, so very wrong. Regardless of what I felt going into this book, by the time I got to the end I was far from disappointed with how Kristy played out it. It just made me more excited to get my hands on the next one.

Oh hell. ANOTHER. EFFING. CLIFFHANGER.

I hate cliffhangers, not because I can’t wait to know what happens next, but because: A) I forget. A lot. I forget all the details and other important stuff by the time the second book comes out, and B) I lose interest with lighting speed. Who knows what mood I’ll be in when the next installment comes out?

Anyhow, I enjoyed this book. Despite a few clichéd elements here and there - a jock, a physical therapist AND a zap of electricity when they touch for the first time {insert eye-roll here} - the author managed to stay original as far as possible in what has become a very popular genre.

And I was happy as fuck the player was not a player. Because, let’s face it, reading about a manwhore jock has lately become as exciting as cleaning the toilet bowl for me.

Ms. Bromberg is one of those authors whose style is unique and distinctive: raw, passionate and intense. She writes chemistry and passion like no other. So why not 5 stars?

Well, for one thing, I am not a baseball fan. In my defense, I know nothing about baseball - it is not a popular sport in Europe. I’m a football (soccer) girl through and through. And while I congratulate the author for her expertise and research on that matter, the baseball bits were not as sexy for me as the blurb suggests.

My other issue is the hero. Or lack of issues to be exact. Easton Wylder is a perfect book boyfriend. He is so perfect I was afraid he was going to start sprouting wings with a halo above his head any moment. He helps young boys in the Little League. He does regular visits to Children’s Hospital. He loves his sick mother unconditionally and takes care of her. He runs a literacy charity. He donates money to charity. He visits a dog sanctuary for abused and abandoned dogs. He is smart, talented, rich, hot, handsome, loyal, caring, understanding, protective. He wants to spend all his time with the heroine. He is a perfect friend, a perfect boyfriend, a perfect son, a perfect player, a perfect citizen...

Riiight. Now, I’m not saying men like him don't exist. Nor do I have anything against those qualities. I just think this is a tad unbelievable and over the top. And boring.

Maybe I'm wrong. But if he doesn’t make a mistake or two in the next book, I’m worried I’ll be bored to death.

The Player scores on ALL levels! From the amazing dedication (it’s seriously freaking amazing), to the very last sentence in the book, and every word in between! Seriously, the ending sent me running for a calendar and sharpie. I’ll be crossing of the days counting down to book 2 until July. I was stunned! It’s witty, sexy, emotional, and so entertaining. This is now my absolute favorite K. Bromberg book. She definitely brought her A game with The Player!

Here’s the breakdown: Scout is on a mission to fulfill her father’s wishes of becoming the franchise therapist for the Aces. Easton lives in the shadow of his father’s greatness. He’s at a low point in his career, but will do whatever is necessary to come out on top. When these two come together sparks fly.

"His smile turns shy and it takes everything I have not to lean across the table and brush a kiss against his lips.
Doesn't he realize he's the only one I say yes to?"

Here’s what I absolutely loved: The main characters are phenomenally written and fleshed out. The chemistry between them is palpable. There was just the right amount of push and pull to draw the reader in and the banter is so entertaining!

The writing – K. Bromberg is fantastic. The storyline, plot, and execution are all fantastic. Yes, there are unanswered questions, but it’s a duet. I must admit I’m in a bit of hangover hell. I had no idea the book would end on a cliffy!

The emotional aspect of the story. The Player is more than your typical romance. There is real depth to the characters and their circumstances. They’re both dealing with serious life events. Their responses and actions are real and relatable. I love reading romances with that extra level of depth. This one is no exception. Fantastically executed!!

Overall, this is a definite win! I recommend it to readers who enjoy Sports Romance, Emotional Romance, and Sexy Banter.

I rate it: 4.5 Stars

K. Bromberg’s new series is sure to be a hit! She has created another cocky and sexy as hell Hero that readers are going to fall head over heels in love with. The chemistry between the main characters is beyond H-O-T, and there’s just enough angst thrown in to make this a fun and addictive read!

Scout Dalton is a physical therapist for some of the most famous Major League Baseball players. Her current assignment is to help Easton Wylder, catcher of the Austin Aces, rehab his injured shoulder. It seems that during a time when he was under a lot of pressure he ended up signing a contract that guaranteed that after a certain number of months, he would be fully rehabilitated and playing for the Aces. If he fails to meet that deadline, he will be traded. Scout is hoping that she is successful with Easton’s rehab because it could mean a permanent contract for her father’s business with the Austin Aces. Her dad is one of the most well-renowned PTs in the industry and her love for him knows no bounds. It would kill her to let him down.

 photo Naked Batting practice_zpsdtb9nn9l.jpg

Scout and Easton get off to a rocky start when Easton assumes that she is a stripper and that her showing up in the Aces training room is some sort of a prank initiated by his teammates. Soon enough the attraction that is between them is too strong for either of them to deny and things get pretty hot and heavy quickly. Where Easton is confident in what could be building between them, Scout is almost the polar opposite. She’s skittish, which stems from her fear of abandonment. Almost everyone who has mattered more than anything to her has ultimately gone and left her behind. Scout also knows that becoming romantically involved with Easton would be considered unprofessional and could possibly cause her the Austin Aces contract.

Throughout the story, there is a bit of a cat and mouse chase between Easton and Scout. There is plenty of steam to keep pulses racing and the ever present fear of these two getting caught always had me on pins and needles.

The story ends on a cliffhanger and leaves readers with many questions! Luckily the conclusion will be out in July!! Not too long of a wait!

"I don't like to play by the rules. A contract is business, Scout. But this? You. Me? This is pleasure.

➦This sexy baseball sports romance is a first book in The Player duet. There's really nothing about this book I didn't enjoy. I've been a huge fan of K.Bromberg for years and, as I've said numerous time before, I will read whatever this woman writes.

➦I absolutely adored the hero of this book, Easton, a hot and confident baseball player, who is recovering from a shoulder injury. Scout if a daughter of a famous physical therapist and she is assigned to oversee Easton's recovery. Getting him back on the field is extremely important to her because that would guarantee her a full time contract with the team.

➦These two hit it off right away but Scout, having many skeletons in the closet, gets spooked and tries fighting her attraction. But Easton is VERY persuasive. How hard will it be for Scout to constantly touch Eason's body at work and not cross the line?

➦Even though I did enjoy the chase part of the book, I enjoyed the little moments these two shared even more. I got to know their characters pretty well through their interactions and I am rooting for these two to have their HEA.

➦There are a lot of things that might prevent them from being together - there's the fact that their relationship has to be hidden because of the contract Scout tries to get with the team and some other things that shall not be named because... spoilers and such. All I know is that I'm anxious to read the second book because I need answers! Recommended to those who love sports romances, forbidden love stories with quite a bit of angst in them.

➦And I'll just leave you with a quote:
"He's hard lines and tanned skin. He's confidence with a half-cocked grin, and he's desire restrained with the tense set of his shoulders. His fingers flick, ready to conquer and claim, and his lips part, ready to lead the assault."

I’m putting myself out on a limb for a woman who wants to run, when for the life of me, I’ve never been one to stay. But I’m not going anywhere.

K. Bromberg can do no wrong. With each book she writes, her masterful writing gets better and better. I have yet to meet a hero of hers that didn't melt both my heart and my ovaries, and Easton Wylder is certainly no exception. The man is baseball royalty, sexy as sin, and currently out of the sport that he loves due to an injury.
He’s hard lines and tanned skin. He’s confidence with a half-cocked grin, and he’s desire restrained with the tense set of his shoulders.

Scout Dalton is the woman hired to be his physical therapist, and sparks fly between them right away. Expecting to see his old PT, Doc, Easton has a hard time believing the delicate beauty is who she claims to be. But Scout is also no delicate wallflower and puts him right in his place and straight on his back...for the therapy, of course. What were you all thinking? *evil grin*

Scout is a woman with secrets. She's fully accepted that nothing good stays in her life and won't allow herself to put her heart out there, not even for the sexy baseball god that's determined to prove to her that he's different. Can I just say how refreshingly nice it was to have a famous hero that wasn't a playboy? This is a man that knew what he wanted and wasn't afraid to go after it.
It’s going to be a bitch, isn’t it? To have to stretch me. Body to body. To have your hands on me. To have to watch me get hot and sweaty. To hear me groan when I lift weights and not remember that’s the same sound I made when I came. To rub me out—nice and slow. To be around me so much you’re sick of me, all the while denying there’s something here worth figuring out.”

I loved their mix of easy camaraderie, sexual tension, and banter. They practically crackled through the pages with their chemistry. I love a good slow burn and boy does K. Bromberg bring it with this couple. It was delicious.
We crash together in a torrent of lust and lips and tongues, where wants now become needs. Where greed becomes the game, and satisfying it becomes a by-all-means-necessary type of strategy. Where bodies mesh and meet and tease and pleasure.

Scout was stubborn and proud, almost to a fault. She's determined to keep her secrets and her heart to herself. Her focus should be Easton's rehab because it could mean a contract for the entire club, but her focus deviates more and more with each brick that he demolishes on the wall that she's so carefully built around herself through the years.

This being book one of a duet you obviously get left wanting at the end, but you won't find this girl complaining. It was perfectly paced and you get just the right amount of story to hook you and leave you salivating for the conclusion. But don't go getting any ideas now, because Easton is ALL mine.
I want more. I’m going to take more. Right here. Right now. On this rural country road with fireflies outside the window and the scent of her everywhere.

What do you get when you have a cocky hot shot baseball player and a feisty heroine that can spot a bad play before you do? One hell of a sports romance with some sprinkled drama! This was a sexy sports romance at it’s best and Easton had me at the first pitch.

Being the son of a baseball legend has it’s good and bad side. For Easton Wylder, the bad thing about this is that everyone expects him to be great and lucky for him, he was. That is until a dirty play injures his arm and sends him on the disabled list for the foreseeable future. But Easton is determined to get back out on the field no matter what and when he’s introduced to his new female PT, he knows he has a lot of work ahead of him on and off the field.

“You’re nothing like I expected.

I’m never what anyone expects. It’s a blessing and a curse.

Scout Dalton knows what it’s like to be a part of something team. Having a father who’s also a sports PT, she knows the drill when it comes to the players and she’s refuses to be a notch on anyone’s bed post. Treating one of the biggest players of all, Scout is about to get a crash course on the meaning TEMPTATION and surrendering to it has never been more sweeter.

I will admit that I’m not really a sports fan but as I was reading this, I couldn’t help but picture everything and it made me want to experience that for myself. From the smell of the fresh popcorn, to cheer of the crowd, and that first crack of a bat, I wanted to be in that stadium taking it all in and that’s what I loved about this story. Now can we please get to “The Catch”?! If you’re not a fan of cliffhangers, I strongly suggest you wait this one out, otherwise your bitch o meter is going to be Sky high. For everyone else that likes to live over the edge and thinks they can survive the wait, this one is for you.

Can we just take a moment to say how amazing K. Bromberg is? Because this woman kills it to the max every single time she releases anything! Now, we all know how good she is at sports romance (I mean.. Colton!) and this time she did a fantastic job with this sexy, emotional and funny baseball story.

The Player is the first installment in this duet and it tells the love story between a cocky (and swoony!) baseball player and his sassy (and a bit broken) doctor. Easton needs to recover from an injury and Scout is the woman for the job. I am sure you can imagine what happens next: the sparks start flying.

He isn’t just another player.
He’s the player who can give me what I need to fulfill my dad’s wishes.
And he’s the man who has invaded my thoughts and taken residence there.

I love stories that have a little bit of everything in them and The Player, obviously, clicked all my buttons on that. It has a great list of characters, a couple with smoking hot chemistry and some fun and dramatic moments that will leave you waiting for more!

The worst part about telling yourself lies is you know the real truth.
And the truth is I want everything I just tried to convince myself I didn’t.

Of course, great love stories are not the easiest to read and that's why this one is so great. Both main characters have some pretty dramatic situations in their lives and it makes The Player a very entertaining and fast read.

“I don’t like to play by the rules. A contract is business, Scout. But this? You. Me? This is pleasure.”

Moreover, what made this book great for me were, of course, the couple. Outstanding and deep characters that give you all the butterflies? Heck yes! The chemistry between Easton and Scout is absolutely amazing (in and out of the bedroom!) and you'll definitely want more (especially after that freakin' cliffhanger at the end!!!).

I taste me.
I taste her.
The two of them together are a drug I can’t get enough of.
I need more.
I want more.
I’m going to take more.

Therefore, my rating for The Player is 4.5 STARS because I literally cannot wait to read the conclusion of this love story! As you can see, I don't deal well with the damn cliffies so I need The Catch yesterday! lol Highly recommend this one, for sure!

Who was the dummy who went into this book thinking it was a standalone???

My bad.

Easton Wylder WAS baseball. As the son of baseball royalty, the game was everything to him. So when he got severely injured, the team sent in the best physical therapist in the field, Doc Dalton. However, that's not who Easton got. Instead he was stuck with Doc's daughter, Scout, who was not only sassy, determined and capable, but she was absolutely gorgeous. Scout found that the more time she spent with Easton (and vice versa), the more she got to know the real him, the easier it was to fall for him. Could these two resist the temptation of crossing professional lines? If they stumbled, would they both make it to the other side unscathed?

This book was steamy and sweet with plenty of angst mixed in. Both Easton and Scout were operating under similar issues, burdened by the weight of responsibilities and high expectations. I personally think Easton had to work far too hard to get through Scout's walls and I'm still not sure if he's quite breached them. Regardless, I was thoroughly entertained by his efforts and how he had opened himself up to experience everything with her.

I'm loving where these two seem to be headed and I'm hoping for less of a back-and-forth, push-and-pull effect in the next. Please, let book 2 show these two as a united front! *fingers crossed*

Title: The Player
Series: The Player #1 (Part one of a duet)
Author: K. Bromberg
Release date: April 16, 2017
Cliffhanger: Yes

I just recently started getting into K. Bromberg's books again and I'm kicking myself for wandering away for so long. This was yet another excellent read by her and I was really impressed with the depth of emotion it was able to evoke. The Player is not your typical fluffy sports romance, but doesn't have an overtly angsty tone either. It was the perfect balance of romance, heat, and witty humor.

Easton is the cocky golden boy of baseball, yet not obnoxiously so. He's filled with confidence, and an abundance of energy and magnetism and he isn't afraid to use it to his advantage. What he isn't prepared for is to be assigned to the new trainer who immediately puts him in his place and sees past his star power. After getting injured, the pressure is on for him to return to his position in the time allotted to him, or his career may be in jeopardy. However, no one's expectations are as high as his father, baseball legend Cal Wylder.

Easton and Cal's relationship is one of the main points of conflict. Living in his father's shadow is not a comfortable place to be, and fighting for his father's respect seems to be a losing battle. Though he is gifted at the game, works relentlessly to improve himself, and gives everything he has, he always seems to come up short in his father's eyes. This feeling of inadequacy has leaked into the love of the game until he's started to wonder whether he's playing for the right reasons anymore.

It’s fucking beautiful. A blessing and a curse. My pleasure and my pain. The only thing I’ve ever known. The only thing I’ve ever wanted to do.

I really sympathized with Easton. His father wasn't necessarily mean spirited, but selfish and unable to open up to his son. And it definitely seemed to me that there is more going on underneath the surface with his father that hopefully will come to light in the following book.

Scout Dalton is a no nonsense woman who doesn't pull any punches. But Easton has her rattled and running scared very quickly. The instant attraction and desire he makes her feel is overwhelming and unwanted. Her one focus and priority needs to be getting him back in fine physical shape and back in the game. For more reasons than she's willing to share with anyone. Quietly suffering and with no one to turn to, it hasn't been easy to put up the strong front.

But with Easton, they seem to slide into a natural and comforting dynamic without even trying. Add onto that their passionate, off the charts, combustible heat? Suddenly Eason's game involves a lot more than the one on the field. He's determined to gain Scout's time, her trust, and most importantly, her heart.

I’m putting myself out on a limb for a woman who wants to run, when for the life of me, I’ve never been one to stay. But I’m not going anywhere.

I absolutely loved this couple together. Easton was firm and decisive in his resolve to make her his. And Scout was tough, intelligent, and a strong heroine that could hold her own against anyone. I appreciated the lack of unnecessary drama from their secret relationship. I was a little worried that would crop up, but thankfully not. There is a cliffhanger at the end, so be prepared. It wasn't a horribly uncomfortable one, but be aware that everything will be revealed and come to a conclusion in the final installment, The Catch, in June.

If you love sports romance, this is a must read. The characters are well thought out and engaging, the storyline fast paced and sensual. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this couple finds their HEA in the conclusion.

Easton Wylder is known as a god on the field, and one of the best catchers of all time. He is a Major League Baseball player for the Austin Aces, and is practically baseball royalty. All he's ever known is baseball. He grew up the son of a baseball legend, & has always felt as his fathers protege he had to live up to the Wylder name. He never wanted to do anything to disgrace his dad's legacy, so when he gets an injury that threatens to end his career he is feeling the pressure to be back on top.

Scout Dalton is the daughter of the infamous Doc Dalton. The renowned physical therapist is called in by the Ace's to treat their star player Easton Wylder. Doc sends his daughter Scout to work with Easton & oversee his recovery. He's counting on his daughter to get Easton back on the field, and secure a long term contract with the Ace's team.

 photo EDDA740A-C79C-4628-9DD7-06038E22DD2B_zpsyrdenyrl.jpg

Easton is on a deadline to rehab his shoulder, and return in top shape, so when he walks in to see a gorgeous feisty woman instead of Doc, he isn't pleased. He doesn't care she's Doc's daughter. He doesn't have any faith in her abilities as a physical therapist & questions her qualifications. They instantly get off to a rocky start & clash at every turn. Scout is desperate to make her father proud and solidify her reputation as a woman in a male dominated world. She's now out to prove herself to this arrogant, conceited, hot jerk.

Scout quickly shows Easton she knows what she's doing. As they work so closely together the sexual tension becomes unbearable. They have an undeniable attraction that continues to spark as they work hands on. The more Scout touches his irresistible body, the more she wants him. She hates how affected she is by him. Easton has never crossed that fine line between professional & personal, but he finds himself enjoying Scouts company, and wanting to get to know her better.

 photo D1E590F4-A2D9-49B4-B008-FD988952A26E_zpsk1ffalsl.jpg

Easton finally begins to take Scout seriously & sees she has what it takes to get him back on the field. They soon can't resist each other anymore & things turn intimate. Real feelings grow between them & they both want to break all the rules & take a chance and be together. Suddenly winning the contract isn't as important as being with Easton. Easton wants to be back on the field, but wants Scout to be a part of his life. Can they find a way to be together & still keep the careers they love?

I loved everything about this book! K. Bromberg brings us a sexy, baseball player that I couldn't get enough of. Easton Wylder is delicious & talented on and off the field. I can't wait for the next book in this series!

-I don't think I've ever seen anything sexier than Easton Wylder come undone. I can't take my eyes off him. I can't stop thinking how I did that to him.

The book wasn’t bad, it’s just me… I guess…

He was a good guy… I guess. With a big heart and a very big ego. I had some sassy comebacks to all his cocky comments, but I was unfortunately not invited into the book.

Well, the girl, she kinda annoyed living sh*t out of me…
Hormones alarm - stage urgent. *tocsin*

She blushed…
and blushed…
and blushed…

I get that that it’s kinda cool to read how handsome a man is. But not on every second page in her POV please! His body, his face, his jaw, his eyes, blah-blah-blah… How about his toes? I guess it would come later.

She adored everything about him, she sniffed him permanently, I was ready to ask him what shampoo he used, coz the girl was definetely crazy about it!

“And now when I breathe in, it’s him I smell. His shampoo. His cologne. His fabric softener. Him.“

I was honestly sure she would go fangirl on the brand of toilet paper he used… *facepalm*

I wanted to read onward, but then he told me:

Because there are women who are good for a quick fuck.
There are women you would fuck, but are better in the friend zone. And then there are women like Scout…“

Nope, dude, there are also women like Alex who DON’T GIVE A F*CK!

Ciao, ragazzo!

Hooked!!! That is how I felt when I started reading this book. From beginning to end it was an engaging, funny and romantic story. Neither of the characters were too exaggerated to the point it was annoying. I'm not going to go over the plotline because the blurb already does that. I will say that the storyline was great, the main characters were likeable and consistent and had real-life reactions to events.

The author does a fabulous job with the character development in this book. It gives the reader the opportunity to truly understand the characters and to step inside their minds and their lives. Easton and Scout have immediate chemistry. When these two get past fighting their attraction to one another things get hot, heavy and dam sexy quickly.

The story is sugary, easy and makes you feel the emotions right along with the characters, even if it does break your heart a little bit. It took me on the roller coaster ride of emotions that was Scout and Easton’s relationship and kept me intrigued right until the very end. The surprising plot twist at the end of the book blew my mind. I can’t wait for the second book to come out!

In short:
Hero 5/5 | Heroine 5/5 | Plot (Point, Originality) 4/5 | Writing Style 5/5 | Steam 4/5 | Romance 5/5 | Angst-Suspense 4/5 | Darkness 0/5 | Humor 4/5 | Secondary Characters 5/5 | Drama-Conflict 4/5 | Mystery 0/5 | Twists 5/5 | Pacing Steady | Action 3/5

This review won't be very long because I have the old habit of talking too much, but in this case I really don't know what to say. A few days ago I reviewed another book of Bromberg's and I was hyper about it. Thinking that the reputation will stick to this one as well, I began the book with hope. It turned out I got disappointed...

Easton is a very talented baseball player that had an accident during one of his matches. He is the star of his team and this injury was totally unexpected. Presure is on him to recover soon and get back on the field. Enter Scout, a physical trainer that will help Easton recover smoothly. She had to live up to her father impresive resume and help Easton get on track as soon as possible, in this way securing for herself a big contract with his team.

Easton and Scout didn't began well their relationship, cocky VS guarded, but soon enough Easton's determination will make Scout see him for what he really is: a generous, kind and trustworthy person. All her believes will be tumbling down and slowly they will begin a very hot/ forbidden affair.
As in the Eurovision song contest, my points go to Easton. I loved the way he fought for Scout, how he used every asset and every charm he has to open her eyes and make her realise how good they can be. Despite the presure of his rehabilitation, his dad's pushing and everything, he was very focused on his connection with Scout. He had patience, learn to talk to her and opened up in the most hones "what you see is what you get" way.

Scout tried very hard to fight him off. She rejected her feelings and attraction and only put first her job and the reason she was helping Easton. There will be some other motives why she acted this way, but that didn't make her more understandable or likable. She was a puzzle for me and I didn't put all the pieces together.

Yes, short review.. right:) So, to conclude, The Player was not my particular guilty pleasure this weekend. I liked the love scenes and the push and pull the couple had + Easton, but that is just about it... The plot was kind of invisible, without something that keeps you hanging and the first 40% I really wanted to stop reading because nothing happened. Yes, things got heated on the way, but this lack of consistency killed my mood.
