ixty years of Disney parks: the celebration continues at IDW! If you’ve never been to Disneyland, Walt Disney World, or Disneyland Paris, get ready to explore... and if you’ve been there before, get ready to see these beloved theme parks a whole new way! We’ll be exploring Disneyland past with legendary “Duck Man” Carl Barks, and Disneyland Paris present with Victor “Vicar” Rios. And then there’s that story that predicted the future... Wait, what?! It’s true! Mickey’s “Incredible Disneyland Adventure,” a classic European tale created for Disneyland’s 30th anniversary in 1985, presented a section of the park resembling Mickey’s Toontown—which wouldn’t actually open for another eight years! Writer Angelo Palmas couldn’t resist the plot hook of Mickey taking an unintentional trip to Disneyland, and mistaking a replica of his Mouseton neighborhood for the real thing (!)... even though that replica didn’t exist at the time! Some adventures are more incredible than others. —David Gerstein, Archival Editor
