- 9/7, Wednesday, 8 am: Alamo Friendship Chorus Fall 2016 Orientation, auditorium
- 9/13: Tuesday Alamo School & Student Fall Picture Day, auditorium
- 9/15, Thursday, 6-7 pm: Back-to-School Night, PTA Store open
- 9/18, Sunday, 11 am-2 pm: Back-to-School Picnic, Mountain Lake Park
- 9/16, Friday, 9-10 am: Coffee and Conversation (Alamo families get together), school library
- 9/20, Tuesday, 5:30 pm: School Site Council (SSC) meeting, school library
- 9/30, Friday, 8:15 am Halloween Carnival Kick-off Meeting, school library
- RESCHEDULED SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL MEETING: The school site council will be moving the meeting initially scheduled for Tuesday 9/6 to Tuesday 9/20. At the 9/20 meeting we will be meeting to walk through where we landed with the final count of students for the 2016-2017 school year and how that has had impacts to the budget, if any. Bring your questions and/or concerns to the meeting at 5:30pm.
- MUSIC CLASS FOR 4TH AND 5TH GRADE FAMILIES: 4th and 5th Grade Instrumental Music Classes with Ms. Perry begins next week! This is an exciting district wide program offering music instruction in Violin, Flute, Clarinet and Trumpet to all 4th and 5th graders. If you haven't signed up yet, please turn in your sign-up forms to the Alamo office as soon as possible. Please ask Ms. Shellie in the office if you need a new form to fill out.
- GET DELICIOUS GROCERIES AND GIVE 10% BACK TO ALAMO! This month, Good Eggs is partnering with Alamo Elementary to fundraise for the school! All you need to do is: 1. Order your groceries at goodeggs.com during September 2. Enter the code alamo at checkout 3. Enjoy your delicious groceries and feel great about it!
- THE ALAMO FRIENDSHIP CHORUS FALL 2016 ORIENTATION MEETING will be on Wednesday, September 7 at 8:00am in the auditorium. Students grades 3 to 5 interested in joining the Fall 2016 chorus must attend this important meeting! Applications and information on our new registration procedure will be given. Parents are welcome!

- HOST A CMI EVENT: Host a Count Me In (CMI) Event this year and be entered into a year end raffle for a chance to win an Apple mini iPad! All hosts who submit their Hosting Forms by Friday, September 9th will receive 5 raffle entries. CMI will be rolling out their first line of events at the Back to School Picnic on Sunday, September 18, 2016 - families can purchase event spots on that day. Need more information or a hosting form? - GARDEN PROJECT NEEDS YOU: Volunteers needed to help move a delivery of topsoil from the lower yard to the rooftop garden the week of 8/29. Please contact Meredith Witt at mwitt@educationoutside.org if you are available anytime during the school day next week to lend a hand! The delivery of topsoil is a one time FREE resource we are taking advantage of, but we will need extra help to move the delivery as soon as possible. Yay soil team!
- AFTER-SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS: Online registration for Session 1 of After School CERAMICS with Deborah Hoch, Fall HIP HOP HOORAY with Nagata Dance, and Fall SPANISH 1 & 2 opened on Saturday, 8/27/16. - ALAMO'S ANNUAL BACK TO SCHOOL PICNIC! Join us on Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Mountain Lake Park (9th and 10th Ave entrances). Potluck Assignments: Kindergarten - Main Dish; 1st Grade - Fruit or Veggie Side Dish; 2nd Grade - Drinks; 3rd - 5th Grade - Dessert
Suggested donation: $5.00/family.
