TV Article Henry Cavill teases black Superman suit The Man of Steel may have new threads in 'Justice League' By Oliver Gettell Oliver Gettell Senior news editor, EW.com EW's editorial guidelines Published on August 15, 2016 12:00PM EDT Photo: Clay Enos It looks like black is the new black for Henry Cavill’s Superman. On Monday the Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star shared a close-up photo of what appears to be an updated costume for the Last Son of Krypton, with an inky color scheme and an intricate armor-like texture. The image is accompanied by a single hashtag: “#Superman.” Cavill’s hero was last seen sharing the big screen with the Dark Knight and Wonder Woman while wearing his traditional red-and-blue garb, an outfit that was — spoiler alert — left with a gaping hole in the torso thanks to the monster known as Doomsday. That injury notwithstanding, Superman is next slated to appear in 2017’s Justice League, and the hint that he’ll be wearing black this time around suggests director Zack Snyder is taking some (further) cues from the Death and Return of Superman comic book saga of the 1990s. Or maybe Cavill just likes black-and-white photography. Check out his photo below.
