We’re back in Wildwood and the unknown arsonist still at large and Wren Gallagher is in a funk. After her two brothers found their happily ever afters with her best friends, Harper and Delilah, Wren begins to feel like the fifth wheel and questions if she should continue to live in Wildwood.

Wren is like any young twenty something woman trying to find herself and so when she drowns her sorrows in a few drinks, she finds herself being rescued by Tate Warren. Wren and Tate are fiercely attracted to one another but Tate knows not to cross the line after the warning from her brothers. He is well aware that he doesn’t want to lead Wren on into believing in forever since he is not a commitment kind of guy. But after a few run ins with Wren, Tate find himself wanting her. When Wren’s house is set on fire, Tate takes it upon himself to bring Wren into his house until she lands back on her feet. And like a moth to a flame, these two suddenly find themselves igniting a burning desire and passion for one another. As they crossed and blurred the lines of their friendship, will Wren discover that Tate Warren and Wildwood is her home and happiness? Or will Wren push Tate away?

#Torch

Torch was a slow burn romance that had all the right elements to sizzle, steam, and ignite the push and pull relationship brewing between Tate and Wren. I really enjoyed their relationship from somewhat of frenemies to lovers. I love that Karen Erickson allowed readers to see that both Wren and Tate were just looking for the right person to love and make themselves vulnerable to. As much as I loved the slow burn romance aspect, I wished the author would reveal who the arsonist is and the ending left me wanting more so hence I couldn’t give this book a full 5 star rating. But overall, I really enjoyed this book and loved how protective and caring Tate was with Wren.

4.5 stars

I've enjoyed every book in Karen Erickson's Wildwood series, but Torch is my favorite to date. I loved the snarky, love/hate relationship between the hero and heroine, I enjoyed watching the heroine's big brother's bluster over the guy she gets involved with and I really loved watching the hero work to convince the heroine they were good together. Simply put Torch was a well rounded romance with great characters, an interesting ongoing suspense story arc, and as I expect from this author superbly written sexy times.

While Wren Gallagher is happy for her two best friends and her two brothers who fell in love with them, she's feeling a little down and out that love just doesn't seem to find her and just her luck on a night when she's out and drowning her sorrows alone Tate Warren, the bane of her existence and the man who insists on calling her every bird name in the book, finds her and has to give her a ride home.

I really did feel for Wren who felt her life had stagnated and wasn't sure how to get out of her own rut. Then life hands her a raw deal and she has no choice but to change course and in doing so she accepts the friendship and generous offer from Tate who begins to prove time and time again that there is more to him than she or anyone else ever expected.

I loved watching these two fall for one another, watching them tiptoe through the mine field of what a relationship between them entails including overbearing big brothers, well meaning but scheming best friends and an ex who just doesn't seem to know when to stop. With both of them a little relationships gun-shy they had some ups and downs but what was clear was their feelings grew strong and deep and forgiveness came pretty easy. My one complaint, I wanted more at the end, not that it didn't leave off with them in a good place I'm just a big baby and wanted more!

Smart, sassy, and sexy I loved Torch by Karen Erickson and I'll be first in line when the next book in this series releases!

Wren Gallagher’s and Tate Warren’s story has been teased about in Karen Erickson’s previous books and I was eager for this frenemies-in-lust trope to come to fruition here. To some extent, I wasn’t disappointed, because ‘Torch’ did exceed my expectation when it came to resolving Wren’s and Tate’s initial impressions of each other and how it progressed onto something more…precipitated by friends’ gatherings, an ex and a case of arson that left Wren with close to nothing.

Even as these events provided interesting twists and turns to the story, they don’t exactly amount to much by the time we reach the end of the book. There is an ongoing case of arson that’s been the constant thread in the Wildwood books, yet nothing comes out of it here, which I found disappointing. Wren’s house goes up in flames but the ongoing investigations fade into the background as the rocky, slow-burn relationship between Wren and Tate is prioritised. The ex-boyfriends returns, and barely forms a credible threat before slinking away, the overprotective brother-behaviour is taken a notch too high and Wren’s own half-formed plans to move away are not addressed fully enough, not even by the end. Those bits were let-downs to me, particularly because the last three-quarters of the book felt contrived, as though Wren’s overreaction was writ-large simply to provide a source of conflict (and climax) - as the large obstacle a couple needs to go through before they’re baptised by fire - before ending abruptly with nothing in the arson case resolved at all. Perhaps ‘Torch’ could have gone from a decent to stellar read had Erickson tightened the loose threads that were hung up so tantalisingly in the beginning, so that I didn’t feel as though I was reading only half a book with the pages ripped out of the other half.

But for shorties like this, the lead characters do drive the plot and I did think Wren was relatable, and her desire to make something more of her life resonated with me except for the last bit that seemed completely out of character for her. I felt much less for Tate though because I couldn’t quite decide if he was a player or someone who was trying to shrug off that label. All Erickson makes clear is that he wants Wren, but never quite provides an impetus other than the idea that she is a challenge for someone who never had to fight for a woman before.

There’s of course, a HEA - an albeit rushed one - but it’s all but left me wondering if ‘Torch’ closes this series or if there's more in the works, because so much of it still feels incomplete.

A sweet quick read. I enjoyed Tate and Wren, and all of the adorable pet names that Tate called Wren. I also enjoyed the dynamic of this story. You have a group of alphalike firefighters; strong men who profess what they're really looking for in life. And there is also a touch of suspense constantly hanging around in the background. The secondary characters are a wonderful addition to the story; as they help build the heroin and the heroes story. I am a late comer to this series, so I started on book three, but was able to understand the layered connected stories very easily.

One thing that comes to mind when I read this book, was that it was a little too surface for me. I like to indulge in a deep seated story, with characters that I can connect to. In Torch it fell flat in that area. It held my attention enough, but I did skim a lot of this story, due to wanting to know what the outcome of the h/h would be. But I will reiterate, I did enjoy that it had a cute/sweet element to it. If you're interested in reading about alphalike firefighters, feisty heroines, and like having the added steam and suspense in your books, this series is for you.

Wren Gallagher wasn't falling for Tate Warren's charms, he was a player thru and thru. However with all her friends pairing up and moving on, Wren is feeling displaced. Despite Tate's attraction to Wren, she has made it clear she is not interested. When a fire breaks, Tate is there to lean on but as they get to know each other better things heat up and both are falling deeply for one another. Can Wren trust Tate and is Tate willing to be a one woman man?

Quickly paced, I enjoyed the banter between Wren and Tate. I thought the bird nicknames was an adorable twist to pet names. Liked Tate a lot, always a soft spot for a firefighter. Highly entertaining.

••••••••••••••

REVIEW: 3.5 stars-- TORCH is the third installment in Karen Erickson’s contemporary adult WILDWOOD romantic suspense series focusing on the town of Wildwood, California but especially the Gallagher family of brothers, and their sister Wren. This is fire chief Tate Warren, and bookkeeper Wren Gallagher’s story line. TORCH can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but for cohesion and backstory I recommend reading the series in order as there is a continuing plot throughout the series-an arsonist has set his/her sights on Wildwood, California and Wren is the next intended victim.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Wren and Tate) TORCH focuses on the building relationship-an enemies to lovers romance- between Wren Gallagher and Tate Warren. Tate wants a relationship with Wren but for some reason Wren continues to treat Tate with vindictiveness and hatred whenever they are together. When Wren’s house is targeted and destroyed by Wildwood’s arsonist Tate offers up his place, if only temporarily in Wren’s mind. What ensues is the jump from enemies to friends to lovers that may be pushed to the side when Wren’s past comes looking for a second chance.

The relationship between Wren and Tate is complicated. Wren’s acerbic personality and mean spirited verbal attacks against Tate are confusing when there has never been any reason for the vitriol and hatred that spews from her mouth. Tate’s attraction to Wren finds him verbally sparring with the feisty female that calls to his heart. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive.

All of the Gallagher brothers, as well as their significant others, play secondary and supporting roles. Each brother is a member of the fire fighting squad, and in their attempts to protect their younger sister, things don’t go according to plan when secrets are revealed and Wren takes her anger out on the man with whom she is falling in love. Hopefully Lane’s story is next and the arsonist’s identity is finally revealed.

TORCH continues to focus on search for the arsonist bent on destroying the town of Wildwood. There are a no suspects but the introduction of a new characters is always considered a possible party.

TORCH is a fast paced, exciting and sexy read. The premise is entertaining with humor, romance, suspense and heartbreak; the characters are colorful and animated; the romance is a push and pull towards a happily ever after-for now. There has been no proclamation of love or forever-the story line felt a little incomplete although the hunt for the arsonist is still on the books-nothing has yet to be resolved.

Wren and Tate have been circling around each other ever since he came into town and settled down. Wren knows his type. Love ‘em and leave ‘em, always wanting more but never having seconds. Just like her father. She refuses to budge an inch on her attraction or his infuriating way of getting under her skin. Now that her brothers have paired off with her best friends, she feels stuck and so alone. Tate offers her a timid friendship that soon takes off leaving them both wanting more-wanting it all.

This is the third book in the Wildwood series and all I can say is finally! The first two books it was hard for me to totally fall in love but I knew Wren and Tate were going to run off with my heart! She is the youngest sibling and a girl to boot. So she has always had people looking out for her thinking she can’t take care of herself. Tate is known for his player ways but is slowly growing tired of it. Wren is someone that he cannot shake his growing feelings for yet doesn’t truly want too.

I liked how this book started where the last ended with the arsonist still on the loose. His most recent target was Wren’s house. Tate will do whatever it takes to protect her and ultimately keep her. There was a point in the story that I wanted to smack Wren but I think every girl needs a freak out once in a while. Be prepared however for the abrupt ending. I totally thought that Torch was going to be the last but as it seems that this series is not done. If the next one is anything like this one, it is going to be awesome!

Wren Gallagher wants her life to change. She's stuck in a rut and thinks maybe moving out of
Wildwood is what she needs. She's close to her brothers, Wes, Holden and Lane, but her relationship with her parents is strained. Her father's neglect of her mom has warped her views on marriage and she doesn't want to end up settling.

Tate Warren loves his job as the captain at Cal Fire and working with West and Holden. He's best friends with Lane so the guys all spend a lot of time together. Tate's reputation with the ladies is not exactly the town's secret. Wren has called him out about it a few times and he's calmed down his ways. Something about that girl gets to him. He's not sure why it seems as if she hates him. He teases her but he's never done anything to warrant the disdain she seems to feel towards him.

Wren is attracted to Tate, but he reminds her of her father. The last thing she needs is a man who would run around on her. But when she ends up losing her house in a fire, it's Tate that comes to the rescue. His protective side comes out and it's his place where she'll stay until she gets her life together. These two have had had feelings for each other for a long time and being so close is one way they can let down their barriers. Being protective is a good trait but Tate's protectiveness is going to get him in hot water with Wren. Trust is a big issue with her-can she overlook his mistake and trust him with her heart?

I like this series and loved catching up with the other two couples, but I have to admit, this arsonist story is dragging. Just name who it is and let's wrap up this story line.

This is the 3rd book in The Wildwood series. You get pieces of Wren and Tate's banter in the precious book and I couldn't wait to read their story.
Wren Gallagher and Tate Warren definitely have to love/hate relationship down. Tate's great looks and charm (and firefighter uniform) usually go far with the ladies, but Wren won't give him the time of day. She seems to despise him because he's a total player and she wants a real relationship not a fling. But one lonely night at the local bar, Tate runs into Wren and ends up driving her home after she's had one too drinks. Tate can't seem to get her off his mind and when her ex shows up in town, Tate decides he might just want her as his own. But can he convince her that he really wants more when she seems to hate him? There's something different about Wren and he can't let this sassy, beautiful woman get away without a fight.
Of course then arsonist is at it again and when the culprit hits closer to home Tate and the Gallagher brothers work harder to close the case.
This was a sweet, sexy read that ends with a HEA. I can't wait for more in this series!

ARC Review: Torch (The Wildwood Series) by Karen Erickson

Karen Erickson outdid herself with Torch. The title the characters and the whodunit are great assets to this saucy series. Wren puts on a brave face but is really a lost soul searching for her own place. She yearns for a chance to find her happiness, even if it takes her away from the people and places she loves. Tate, is everything she wants but is scared to take a chance on. The flashy personality, his risky career and the turbulent attraction that she craves to let loose. An impressionable home life has left both Tate and Wren with feelings of inadequacy and fear of the unknown. Can they overcome the pain of their pasts, in order to find a future together?

The chemistry was combustible between Tate and Wren. It was so obvious that they had a special connection. What I loved most is that despite the animosity Wren showed, Tate was there whenever she needed someone to vent to or just to look after her. I adore these two together.

We meet Tate and Wren in the previous Wildwood books. Tate is handsome, arrogant and a player. Wren is not impressed with him at all. He is always teasing her and calling her bird names. So she can't understand why she is attracted to him. She is at a point in her life where she wants more. She sees her best friends settling down and falling in love. She is happy for them but dissatisfied with her situation. They story seems to have a a lot of threads that never really tie together or have a clear end. Wren is independent and wants to do something different, but once she starts with Tate, that is never addressed again. The ex showed up and kind of pointed her in a direction of some sort. That conflict did do much for the story. the misunderstanding was a little dramatic. We do get an HEA. But the arsonist is still out there and we didn't get much clarification about that.

Tate and Wren were both engaging characters. I liked Tate right away and I thought his habit of calling Wren different bird names as a joke was actually rather amusing and clever, so this assisted me in not only appreciating what he was doing but also being able to believe in their eventual relationship.

I enjoyed this book, their relationship, the progression of it as she is forced to stay with him temporarily was also interesting. That said, I never believed they were a "meant to be"couple and I don't think there was enough of a foundation constructed for their to be more than Happily for Now. I get the impression that this may be something that is settled in the next book, but I was not convinced there was enough there for them to build on.

Wren feels like she is stuck in a rut, Tate is best friends with her brother but Wren and Tate have a love to hate relationship after she has called him out on the number of women he dates. Will they be able to over there past issues and see how perfect they would be together?

As with all of Karen's books, there is great chemistry between Tate and Wren. I loved the story and way it developed throughout the book. This is a bit of a slow burn romance and the author throws in a few drama's along the way. Although this does have an HEA there will probably be another books as questions were left unanswered.

Loved this one! Tate is just so yummy and the way he teases Wren just made me laugh. All outward appearances would point to Wren hating Tate but there is a thin line between love and hate. When Tate decides enough is enough and decides to really pursue Wren she is definitely pushed over the line. All his cute names for her drives her crazy but Dove seems to do something funny to her heart. Will she continue to resist him or will she finally give in to what her heart really wants? You definitely want to read this one and find out. I highly recommend it.

This was my favorite book in the series. Tate is an outsider. He came to the town a year earlier as a Fire Captain. Acting as a man whore did not endear him to Wren. Female tourists had no problems going a round or two with a fireman. Wren got enough of this with her brothers so wanted nothing to do with Tate.

Wren's brothers have settled down and she has been left behind. No relationship. No prospects. She is just stuck dealing with the annoying Tate. He calls her various bird names with his sexual innuendos, always around pushing her buttons. Both with blinders. Both clueless. This was a slow moving romance. They didn't just hop in the sack. It took time and patience, lots and lots of patience. It made it believable. It gave me hope. And when she needs him, he steps up. SWOON!!!!

My only question at the end---who is the arsonist?????

Awe, man... I was so totally looking forward to Tate and Wren's story.  I love a good "you annoy the crap out of me" to "let make babies" romance. Unfortunately for me, this one took me on a twisty, meandering trail to get me to their happily ever after.  I liked it... I just wasn't fully ga-ga over the story.

Wren and Tate have been in the Wildwood series since book one.  Wren is West and Lane's little sister who lives in the small town of Wildwood doing accounting work.  She's also part owner in Delilah's dance studio.  But since book one, Wren has been restless, itching to do more with her life and perhaps leave town.  It's been hard living with three brothers (she has a younger brother named Holden, too) constantly "looking out" for you, making you feel like you can't take care of yourself.

And then there's Tate.

Tate is new to the fire station in Wildwood.  Commitment phobic Tate has no problems getting "dates".   But what Tate really enjoys at the moment is riling up Wren.  He has this annoying shtick where he refers to Wren by bird names, any and all bird names but her own name "Wren".  Despite that and Wren's brother's warnings Tate off Wren, these two just can't keep their eyes off each other.

So much potential has been simmering for two books now between these two.

I liked Wren's character.  She's a great example of what it's like to be in your late 20's and not know what you want to do with the rest of your life.  So typical!  I was like her at that age, stuck, not getting anywhere with my career and not knowing if I wanted to stay in the town I was living in.  Tate's character wasn't bad once he got past himself and realized what he wanted out of life.

What I didn't enjoy so much was how long it took for both Wren and Tate to get over their personal obstacles to be with each other.  And even with some drama added in, it still took a while for a final, "phew, now they're together for realsies".  It just took a lot of Tate annoying Wren before we got to any real romance between the two (truth be told, Tate annoyed me, too).  But when some story arcs weren't resolved, that's when I really started chopping off stars.  UGH.

The writing is classic solid Karen Erickson (∗cough∗ aka Monica Murphy).  She's a fantastic writer, romance or otherwise.  Usually I love all her stuff.  For some reason though, this series has been hit or miss with me.  I really hoped the heat simmering between Tate and Wren in the first two books would have boiled over in this book.

Unfortunately, Tate's new bird calling hobby got in the way.

You will love this read. The sizzling attraction between Wren Gallagher and Tate Warren will definitely get your motor running in this flirtatious, sexy, enemies to lovers romance. The characters are well developed and likable, with a storyline that will hook you from beginning to the end. I could not get enough of these two.
Wren Gallagher has lived in Wildwood her entire life and is feeling lonely, depressed and the teeniest bit stuck. With her two best friends dating her brothers she was feeling like she had been left behind. She had always thought that she would leave her hometown but her family and friends were everything to her. Even with her overbearing brothers getting in her business all the time. But maybe it was time to move on so she can find her HEA. When she decides to drown her sorrows in alcohol one evening, her pity party is interrupted by a thorn in her side which was Tate Warren.
Tate Warren was the new Captain of Cal Fire, who had moved into town a year ago. Since he worked with her two brothers and was a friend with the third she saw him all the time, and she Hated him. He was seriously too good looking for words, with his pretty face, finely muscled body, a great smile and 100 percent delicious sexy man with striking green eyes that could melt your soul. But all he did was call her every birds name besides her own. He was a player with women falling all over him, she had even caught him making out in the bathroom with a tourist. But when Wren drinks a little to much, her thoughts wander to what it would feel like to take off her clothes with Tate and do a lot of kissing, rubbing and touching. When he takes her home she thinks about kissing him, only to wake up in her bed alone. She hated him, because he made her want to do and say things she had no business wanting to do or say. He was impossibly sexy, and she also found him impossible.
Tate loved driving Wren crazy, and he loved her name. This beautiful woman had always acted like she hated him from the moment they met. She was mean, grumpy, and always giving him shit. That’s why it blew his mind how attracted he was to her. She was the star in all of his dreams. But with her brothers warning him to stay away from her, what could his next step be. But when the arsonist in town burns down Wren’s home he offers for her to stay with him since he is gone at work more than he is home. There are some sexy times ahead for these two as they come face to face with their sizzling attraction. But what will happen when Wren finds out that Tate has been keeping something from her? Or will her ex- boyfriend’s invitation to move in with him give Wren the out she needs to move on?
You will love this sexy, fun, sizzling romance about finding love where you least expect it. You will want to read this. Loved it! Couldn’t put it down. Highly Recommended!

This book begins with Wren, drinking away her loneliness. Her two best friends have hooked up with her two brothers and she can't help but feeling utterly alone. Then, in walks Tate, captain of the fire team her brother is on and resident player. Wren has always been attracted to him but she knows better than to go there with him...this guy has heartbreak written all over him.

Tate can't help teasing Wren at every turn just to get a reaction out of her. He is insanely attracted to her but after being warned off by both her brothers, he doesn't dare go there. But when Wren becomes the victim of the arsonist in town, Tate finds himself telling Wren she is going to live with him. With her under the same roof, Tate knows he will never be able to resist her but can he get her to trust him with more than just her body?

My review:

This is the third book in the Wildwood series and while you don't have to have read the other books to read this one, it definitely helps.

I liked Wren and Tate when they were first introduced in the other books and was excited to read their story but unfortunately this one left me feeling disappointed.

Their relationship goes from barely speaking, to a sort of friendship, to lovers really quickly...it felt really rushed and awkward in my opinion.

And then, the drama toward the end was just kind of dumb...the reason Wren gets mad is so unreasonable and didn't seem fair to Tate at all. It felt like drama just for the sake of drama.

The other thing that I wasn't a fan of is the more this series goes along, the farther away the story moves from the guys as firefighters...it would have been nice to see more of the arsonist sub plot developed.

My thoughts:

POV: switches between Wren and Tate
Quick hook or slow starter? 3.5 (I was never really 100% hooked.)
Character development: 3
Level of Romance between characters: 3.5
Passion/Heat level: 3 (you will be almost 3/4 of the way done before they even kiss and the sex scenes were quick and not very detailed.
Angst/Heartbreak: 2 (there is no real drama in this one)
Cliffhanger?: Not really a cliffhanger, but the story is far from finished.

Overall, this series has been a mixed bag for me but it has me interested enough to keep reading.

I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Torch maintains all the tension of the series while adding to the romance. Although hit has left me with far more questions than answers.

The arsonist is still on the lose in Wildwood but now things are getting personal when Wren's house goes up in flames. The only girl out of four children, Wren struggles against her brother's overbearing protectiveness. Obviously, the loss of all her worldly possessions and the chance that it wasn't just an opportunist attack sends the alpha males into overdrive. Top that off with the very hot, Tate, and you have a smorgasbord of alphas in full bear mode.

Wren has issues stemming from her younger years, deeming herself bland and boring, she yearns to make more of her life with the possibility of leaving Wildwood behind. While this plot thread seemed a vital part of the story at the beginning it tapered off and I have to admit I am not really sure about the origin or depth of Wren's issues. Although, some clarity is achieved when Wren's ex-boyfriend makes an appearance in town after an absence of nearly ten years. Yet more questions arise as to his sudden appearance and connection to Wren.

Tate and Wren have been circling each other under the disguise of disdain for a while, their verbal sparring the equivalent of foreplay. So when Tate steps up to the plate to offer Wren a place to stay you just know things are going to combust.

I adored Tate, and loved how he quickly accepted his feelings for Wren along with his caring nature. However, there were issues alluded to at the start of the story as to Tate's history and background that were not fully developed. I can't help but feel I still don't know Tate all that well and I desperately want to.

Both previous couples from Ignite and Smolder make an appearance and progression of their own stories *SWOON*

There definitely has to be another book in the series as there are still so many outstanding issues, with only one Gallagher sibling left, is Holden going to get his own story????

I don’t very often give 5 stars. If I do, it’s because I feel the book is something special. I think Torch just had something different, special, good.

If you have not read the previous two books in the series, you don’t have too, they are all stand alones. However, I highly recommend reading them. Then go and grab yourself a copy of this book.

Briefly, Wren and Tate have a tenuous relationship. He loves to tease and flirt with her, make suggestive comments and drive her crazy. Wren gives as good as she gets and Tate does not get an inch with her.

Wren’s two best friends are happily in love with Wren’s two older brothers. Her younger brother is in love. She is the only single on in the group…besides Tate. After a chance meeting at the local bar one night, Wren finds it hard to fight her attraction to Tate.

So, here’s the thing. Wren is great. She is sassy, insecure, fun and she is one of the most realistic female characters I’ve read in a long time. She’s not perfect and she doesn’t try to be. Tate is almost too good to be true, but that’s okay, a book boyfriend is supposed to be near perfect.

If you have read my reviews of the previous books in the series, you would have read my mention of this pesky arsonist who has terrible timing. Well, his (or her) timing in this book was impeccably perfect. That’s all I’m going to give you on that, because I refuse to spoil. Suffice it to say, the arsonist is still on the loose, but I am ninety percent positive I have figured out who it is. You hear me, Karen Erickson! :)

Torch is my favorite of the the Wildwood series book. I love Tate and Wren. The story line is great and the writing is fantastic and real.

I highly recommend Torch!

Torch is Karen Erickson's latest novel, and it is the third book in her Wildwood series. It is a quick-paced romance that can be enjoyed as a standalone. This book is about Wren Gallagher, a freelance bookkeeper and a financial partner in her best friend's dance studio. Wren is sometimes bothered by her very overprotective brothers, but she learns to live with it, especially since they are romantically involved with her two best friends. Wren wants to fall in love, but does not want to get hurt in the process.

Through her brothers Wren meets Tate Warren, a fellow firefighter, and they develop a love/hate relationship. Tate is extremely handsome and a known player. With an arsonist on the lose, the firefighters in Wildwood have had their work cut out for them. When Wren's house burns to the ground, it is Tate who takes control of the situation and offers Wren a place to stay. Overtime, the sexual tension between them evolves into a full-blown relationship.

I enjoyed this book. Once again Ms. Erickson pens an entertaining narrative about finding your true love. I liked the Gallagher family and how they stuck together through thick and thin. Wren and Tate share witty banter, hot sex, and a longing that cannot be denied. The secondary characters are interesting and crossover from the first two books in the series. Overall, this is a nicely written story and I am looking forward to finding out who the arsonist is.

Wren & Tate are on FIRE!!!

Wren Gallagher has been going through a rough time. She is feeling alone. Her best friends are in love with her older brothers and she has to adjust to that. She is starting to feel like the town she loves has become her personal cage. She feels her dreams are unfulfilled and her heart is looking for more.

Tate Warren. The fire chief and somewhat new to town. He loves Wildwood and the way of life. He has made friends and enjoys his job. The only thing that he is unsure of is the frustration he gets from Wren. She definitely isn't the only woman in town after him, but she seems to dislike him, and he wants to know why.

Wren and Tate are thrown together because of their friends & family. This makes them both a bit uneasy. They feel like a third wheel. This puts them together and no matter how much they fight it, they feel a pull to each other.

Tate is dedicated to his job and keeping the town safe. The arsonist continues to strike and cause problems. And it hits close to home. He becomes defensive and wants to take care of things. And this is what gets him closer to what he feels in his heart.

This series gets better and better. West & Harper, Lane & Delilah, & Wren & Tate. Tate and Wren have the greatest obstacles to overcome but they are definitely going to be the strongest.

Now the issue of the arsonist is still going on and I anxiously await the next book. And I am sure it will become even greater!

Loved, Loved, Loved this book Karen Erickson's Wildwood series has now become one of my all time favourite steamy series they just get better and better with each book and Torch is one hell of a sizzling saucy hot read. I cannot say enough great things about this book and the others.

I absolutely love the big mystery surrounding the arsonist running loose in Wildwood it just adds to the stories and this time in book 3 things get a lot more personal when the arsonist targets Wren's house, leaving Wren with pretty much nothing but the pretty dress on her back. Make way for our handsome hero Tate to swoop in and offer some rescuing he is just perfect in this. I love the chemistry between Wren and Tate they just sizzle right of the page they are perfect for each other. I actually think this is my favourite book so far which I didn't think it was possible to like any couple more than West and Harper or Lane and Delilah but really Tate and Wren were fantastic in Torch, Tate definitely stealing the show along with everyone's heart I had highly anticipated this book and it definitely did not disappoint, roll on book 4 I need some more Wildwood characters in my reading life.
