N++ is a platformer with a focus on momentum and not dying.

This is a sequel to N and N+. If you enjoyed those previous games, you will feel right at home with this installment in the series. The game feels almost identical, with the exception of new aesthetics, enemies, music etc.

------------------------------------------------
How N++ Plays
------------------------------------------------

If you've played previous games in the series, feel free to skip this section where I just explain how the game works. Read from "What's New?"

I think this game is a great example of "Simple to pick up, hard to master". It might look like any old platformer, but once you really start to get a feel for the mechanics of the game, you learn all sorts of techniques that are necessary to beat later levels.

Using momentum is something very important in this game, which is what makes playing it feel so good. Depending on your speed, what walls you hit and the angle you jump at, you can go flying through the stage. You also need to be careful with your descents. If you hit the floor from too high up, you will die, unless you can slow yourself down by sliding down a wall or landing on a ramp.
Due to all this stuff, you never feel cheated out of a death. If you die, it's your fault.

Although the game can get hard at times, I never felt that it was unfair. The difficulty curve is really good!

You play the game in chapters. Each chapter has a few levels you need to complete under a shared timer. It's quite a generous amount of time, so don't feel stressed. While you progress through levels, you collect little golden blocks that increase your timer and score. You don't need to collect them all, since they can sometimes be very tricky, but if you enjoy seeing yourself on the leaderboard, it's an option.

What's New?
------------------------------------------------

In N++, you get a few new things to the series. You can change the colour palette of the game. For the most part, I think a lot of these are too eye-straining to enjoy, although they are pretty, I'd rather stick to some of the darker ones. It's nice that you can unlock these as you play though.

I LOVE the soundtrack. The game hosts music from many different artists, all of them quite chill electronic music. Although the game is difficult, it can also be very relaxing with this soundtrack.

There are a few new obstacles and enemy types to the series that mix things up a bit.

Obviously you also get tonnes of new levels, which will keep you playing for a very long time.

The game also comes with a level creator, as the series has had before. It's relatively easy to use, and will allow the community to keep the game alive through making some pretty fun and creative levels to play.

The game still has Solo, Co-op and Race modes which allow for some fun times. Co-op relies a lot on teamwork, and sometimes you will need to sacrifice yourself so your teammate can complete the level.

Race is a competitive game mode where you get to race against your friends (or by yourself). Pretty self-explanatory.

All modes are playable with 1-4 players, although if you play solo level with multiple people, you forfeit your spot on the leaderboard. Still, it's a nice option to have!

Overall, I strongly recommend this game to any platformer fan. The movement feels so good, and it's just super satisfying to land perfect jumps while listening to the great soundtrack. The only downside I can really think of is that there's no online co-op, which I'm hoping will change in the future. While I agree that it's more fun to have my friend on the couch next to me, it isn't always an option. Other than that, great game. Recommended!
