Best experience so far, I was running a little late due to traffic and 3 lovely ladies took me in and helped me make a payment instead of turning me away or telling me to come back the next day.
Truly appreciate the staff and security here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I am sorry to hear about your experience with us. Our Mesa location is limited in the assistance it can provide since it is only counter payments and transactions, but our live chat is real customer service representatives that can help with general guidance. If you need further assistance, please email AZTaxHelp@azdor.gov.

Be assured that if you have a business, particularly a small one whether you do things right or are mistaken with their techs on the phone with you, you will be fined every quarter. The Arizona department of revenue sets people up to fail as well as their employees. I would like to say every tech i have talked to was extremely nice . But on every occasion and there has been several now I have been fined again and again. Do not trust this department. With how much money they are fining people it's pathetic they can't afford a better system for themselves, their employees and business owners. but that would mean they wouldn't be legally stealing from hard working individuals. I wish any other entity existed to report to .

I am sorry to hear about the penalties. Our system generates fines due to late filing, late payments, not filing, not e-filing (if required), or other related circumstances. https://azdor.gov/e-file-process/e-services-businesses-arizona
If you are still inquiring about your penalties, please contact us at AZTaxHelp@azdor.gov to determine why you are being fined. - David F.Gilbert, AZ04Feb 2, 2024
Third year in a row that they cannot direct deposit my refund despite it being obviously stated on my tax return. I now have to wait another month .
I do not know why the federal government can get it right and they cannot.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

The Department of Revenue will always try to process a refund in the method requested by a taxpayer in an expedited fashion. There are times however, when the agency will need to process a refund in the form of a paper check.
A paper check is typically delivered in a week (depending on USPS timeframe) after the return has been processed and the check is approved. - Melanie K.San Francisco, CA02Jan 24, 2024
The ladies who seem to run the show with the State of Arizona, have every excuse in the book. They want you to allow them to take 6 to 8 months to respond to two federal crimes. My tax return check was stolen, and cashed 04/01/2023, and the staff that processes our state taxes did not see any urgency in this matter.
I'm still waiting for the affidavit to have notarized, and signed, and then I get 90 days to get it back to them.
One in particular person is very snide, and condescending, and the other one takes her sweet time to get back to you. I am not a happy camper. There are way too many women working at the Arizona State Revenue building. Nothing gets done in a timely manner, and escalation with them is a joke!
P.s. this is edited since the person responding likes to pick out typos.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hello, Sorry your paper refund was stolen. I believe you mean 2023 as paper checks expires a year from issue. We must work with the bank that cashed the stolen money which can take some time. We have a diverse agency and our teams work hard to provide excellent service. I apologize that was not your experience. Also, we do not have an employee named Oke to follow-up with on your concerns.

New review- After talking with the person who manages this yelp account, we were able to get everything resolved. What amazing quick service. Thank you for helping us, and making sure this doesn't happen to anyone else!
Past review- I wish I could give this a -10 star review or less. We spent months and hours on the phone and still have gotten nowhere. When we finally got ahold of someone and she was beyond inappropriate and unprofessional. She put my husband on hold when he went to look for an account number (took 10 seconds) but clearly she wanted to take a break. She was yelling at my husband where I could hear her from the family room. When my husband told her nicely to transfer him to someone else, she said she couldnt and hung up on us. He waited 2 hours to get on this after months of finally getting someone. You wonder why their wait times are so long? Because their employees are taking "place you on a hold" breaks and yelling at customers. It's really sad this can exist and someone can talk to another human being this way.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hello Emily, I am very sorry to hear about your interaction with our call center. We are experiencing high call volume, but this is not how we want to represent our agency. We will message you privately to get details and someone will call you to resolve your questions.

I'd give 0 stars but it's not an option. I mailed in an amended 2021 return 1/5/23 with check. Check took 3 weeks to cash. Then 4/24 they refunded my payment and when I called 5/1 I was told refund was correct and to cash the refund check. 6/24 received notice that I owed the refund plus penalties and interest - and they said amended return "received 4/15".
Reaching by phone is a nightmare and nothing you are told can be relied uponHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I spent two days...several hours each day trying to find out how much we owe since we were never sent a bill! Impossible! My sister died and I am now handling the finances for our business. On hold twice with over 30 people in line...Then when I finally got to talk to a person...I spent over 45 minutes on the phone with her and finally she admitted that she had no idea how much we owed. I am just trying to pay the Transaction Privilege Tax! Absolutely terrible customer service.

Charitable giving is charitable giving. When Jesus spoke of it and demonstrated it, he didn't ask for nor receive tax credits from the state treasury for it.
Giving tax deductions for charitable giving isn't charitable giving.
It's paying givers to give.
If money is taken from state treasuries to facilitate charitable giving, then needed monetary resources are taken from the state treasury for purposes not intended leading to unintended deficits.
The net beneficiaries are the charitable organizations, not the givers. The majority of them utilize unpaid volunteers giving free time. CEO's do not. They compensate themselves as they, sign the check.
Since taxpayers will have to fill the void. And that means higher taxes.
It is similar to Educational Vouchers. The net beneficiaries are those on the receiving end. Those dollars have to be made up, by higher taxes down the road.
The latest pitch on the tube is " Prosperity for all ".
The net beneficiaries of that pitch, isn't the average working stiff but those who paid for the pitch on tv.
Common sense reveals that.
Paying a friendly trusting face to pitch a product isn't new. Tom Selleck pitched for AIG's Reverse Mortgages for Seniors, on the ropes financially, and Kelsey Grammar for Medicare Insurance.
At the end of the " Frazer " run, Kelsey Grammar was pulling in $20 million dollars, per episode.
The financing executive body of The Insurance Companies pitched, saw greater profit, than what they paid Grammar, at the end of that fantasy pitched to targets, and why, they spare no expense on saturation ad marketing by tv personalities or direct mail to your mailbox.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joni H.Gilbert, AZ05Feb 23, 2024Updated review

Thank you so much for the feedback! It was great assisting you.
-Arizona Department of RevenueNov 28, 2023Previous reviewMy customer rep at the ADOR last week was Roshawna Madrid. This woman was incredibly overworked - as other employees had called in sick - yet she was patient, kind, knowledgeable, and so helpful in resolving my issue. She even went out of her way to send me further needed information after the in-office appointment. Ms. Madrid is a great asset to the ADOR and by far one of the best government employees I've worked with!
