We all want a lipstick that will stay put no matter what the day will bring, and thankfully there are an abundance of lip products out on the shelves that do exactly that. So for today's post I have picked out 4 lip products that I know I can count on when I'm in need of something long wearing.
The beauty community has been going wild over the NYX Lip Lingerie line and I can totally see why! The texture is soft and mousse-like so it applies like butter over the lips and dries down to a comfortable matte finish. I find the shade 'Push-Up' (brown-pink) to be a really flattering nude on my fair skin and I just love how weightless it feels. It doesn't flake off or crack during the day either which is a big positive. These liquid lipsticks are simply amazing for the price and I definitely recommend them, especially if you're a lover of the matte lip!
Maybelline's Superstay 24HR Color applies in 2 steps: First with the richly pigmented lip colour, and then following up with the clear balm which acts as a sealant by locking it in place, which also adds a hint of moisture and gloss to the lips. The trick is to wait until the lip colour has completely dried prior to applying the top coat, so it doesn't smudge or remove the lipstick all together. The staying power of this lipstick is absolutely incredible, it doesn't budge through eating or drinking so it's very reliable for all day wear.
Another lip product with a very similar concept to Maybelline's Superstay (the 2 step application process) is the Provocalips 16HR Lip Colour by Rimmel. These are also transfer resistant and last really well throughout the day however, I do recommend using a lip balm beforehand as they can feel a touch drying on the lips. 'Kiss Me You Fool' is a lovely vibrant red-orange with high colour pay off, and it's a shade I love to wear on a night out when I'm going for a classic makeup look. Be sure to have an oil based makeup remover on hand for easy removal as it will save you a lot of scrubbing!
I'm a big fan of Sleek MakeUP and the quality of their products including their Matte Me range. There's one shade in particular that I just adore and is also quite popular - 'Birthday Suit'. It is a gorgeous wearable nude-pink that would suit many skin tones and it's also very on trend. The pigmentation, staying power and consistency is top-notch, so it isn't overly drying for a matte liquid lipstick and it never crumbles or cakes up throughout the day. 'Shabby Chic' (muted mauve) is also a shade I am really eager to get my hands on; I just cannot resist a good mauve or nude lip colour!
