Be Bold Be BRAVE...End Hyde! (#BeBoldEndHyde)
Are you ready to Be Bold Be BRAVE...End Hyde!

For 40 years, politicians have used the Hyde Amendment, which denies coverage for abortion care for those insured through Medicaid, to interfere in women’s health decisions. For those who are struggling to make ends meet—including people of color, low-income women, young folks, queer folks, trans folks and immigrants and refugees—a coverage ban might as well be a ban on abortion all together. We say: Enough is enough!

Join Western States Center, APANO and PSU's Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies for a special performance of "We are BRAVE"!

Monday, September 26th, 2016
Doors Open @ 6:00pm | Program Begins @ 6:30pm
PSU's Smith Memorial Student Union, Room 238

It's time to #BeBoldEndHyde!

Come out to support our efforts to lift abortion coverage bans and join us for a reception with tasty food and beverages.

About the performance: "We Are BRAVE" is a community-based performance that explores issues of reproductive justice. The performance was created in collaboration with We are BRAVE members and other people of color and speaks to the broad array of reproductive justice issues, including abortion, sexual health education, pregnancy, immigration and different family formations. It is directed by Kate Duffly and Dr. Roberta Hunte and written in collaboration with the cast. This project is sponsored with generous support by the Portland Regional Arts and Culture Council (RACC).

This event is co-sponsored by: APANO, Western States Center and PSU’s Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies.

“We are BRAVE” is a project of Western States Center’s Gender Justice Program. BRAVE builds the visibility and public profile of women of color leaders and organizations to be public advocates for accessible, affordable abortion as a part of needed reproductive health services.
