Lupita Nyong'o Made 1 Major Change to Her Eyebrows — and It's Stunning!

Lupita Nyong'o's has always been a beauty star, but that doesn't mean we're jaded when it comes to seeing her red carpet style. At the Queen of Katwe movie premiere in Johannesburg, South Africa, she rocked a jaw-dropping makeup look that featured chic, gilded eyebrow detailing.

Lancome celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose created it, and we got the breakdown on how to DIY it from him. "I wanted to do something that paid homage to Africa and do fun decorative makeup with dots for detail, which we created in metallic gold to tie in Lupita's gold accessories," he told us via email.

How to re-create Lupita's gold dotted eyebrow look, according to Barose:

Step 1: "Fill in brows with a bold, dark color so that the gold from the dots will really stand out," he said. "I used Lancome Sourcils Gel in 06 Noir on Lupita."

Step 2: "Using the metallic gold shade from the Lancome Color Design 5 Pan Eyeshadow Palette in Kissed by Gold, create dots with a small, pointy eyeliner brush."

Step 3: "With a larger brush to apply bigger dots at the inner corners and halfway through, switch to a smaller brush so that the dots gradually shift from large to small, following the natural brow shape while keeping the dots delicate and precise."

He also notes to avoid false lashes or any heavy liquid liner in order to keep the look "fresh and modern."
