PREGAME

-- LSU wins the toss and elects to kick

-- Some of Gus Malzahn's statements from Auburn's pregame radio show:

On the key to the game...
"I think it's leadership. I think it's character and I think it's focus. We have all three... I think it starts with our seniors: Carl Lawson, Montravius Adams... Alex Kozan, Marcus Davis.... We got great leadership and it's good to have."

On his quarterbacks...
"Sean's going to be our starter and we feel good about him... but John Franklin's a guy, he gave us a spark, and he'll be ready if called upon... It can present a different challenge with two different styles of quarterbacks."

On LSU's offense...
"Five years ago it was kinda odd to be in a spread-type formation... now it's just the opposite and LSU is one of the teams still doing the old-school stuff.... It's been an adjustment but Coach Steele has a very good plan."

On Leonard Fournette...
"That's a big key. We made a lot of highlight reels for him last year. A lot of our guys are back and they're stepping up to the challenge... You got to get to him before he gets started... Every year's different. Two years ago when they were here, we dominated them. They turned the table on us... This is a new year."

-- Offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee is going to call the plays for Auburn tonight.

-- Auburn athletic director Jay Jacobs told Paul Finebaum he doesn't see today's game as a "do or die" situation for head coach Gus Malzahn.

-- During his press conference Tuesday, Malzahn said his team's losses to Clemson and Texas A&M this season have been the hardest of his career. As for Auburn fans, he said "I definitely feel their pain" and said the team is "close" to turning things around.

-- LSU running back Leonard Fournette blew up Auburn's defense for 228 yards and three touchdowns last year in Baton Rouge. Check out Auburn is approaching the rematch.

-- Auburn's biggest task offensively will be avoiding defensive end Arden Key and defensive back Tre'Davious White, who are considered to be among the best players in the SEC at their positions.

-- Dameyune Craig, who played quarterback at Auburn and coached receivers for three seasons, returns to the Plains as a part of Les Miles' staff.

-- On the flip side, Auburn defensive coordinator Kevin Steele now faces his former LSU team.
