Piece of Cake! One-Bowl, No-Fuss, from-Scratch Cakes

Piece of Cake! One-Bowl, No-Fuss, from-Scratch CakesIf you’ve been reading this blog over the past few years, you’ll already know that my favorite cookbook publisher is Robert Rose. I enjoy their cookbooks because the recipes are easy-to-read and they’re recipes that my family enjoys. In other words, every cookbook has a ton of recipes that I would make, not just one or two.

Baking A Homemade Cake from Scratch

I enjoy making and baking homemade cakes and 99% of the time I make them from scratch. I know it’s easy to use store-bought mixes, but frankly…homemade tastes better. Plus, I’m controlling the ingredients and know exactly what’s in my family’s food!

This is what I call a “page-turner” cookbook. From the very first page the author will have you tempted to immediately get into the kitchen to whip up a delicious homemade cake. All of the recipes in this book are made using ONE BOWL and all of the ingredients are items that are commonly found in your local store. I really love the variety of different recipes that are included in this book. Cakes that are suitable for breakfast, snacking, desserts and more! Something for everyone!

The last chapter in the book is called Frostings, Icings, Glazes and Other Extras. I’m so glad that the author included this chapter, because you can mix-n-match those recipes and use them on any of the cakes in the book. For example, if you make a chocolate cake and the author recommends a chocolate glaze…you can certainly opt to frost it with cream cheese. You can mix-n-match the cake recipes with whatever topping that you would like.

In my honest opinion, this is the BEST cookbook that I’ve ever see that solely focuses on easy-to-make, from-scratch, homemade cakes! A wonderful addition to my cookbook collection!
