There were two competing narratives of the third and final debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. In one corner, we had the “bad hombres,” Trump’s reference to the “drug lords” and other undocumented immigrants he would like to see on the other side of a wall separating the U.S. and Mexico. 

Then, toward the end of the debate, as Clinton made a reference to Trump’s tax record and the economy, Trump interrupted to call her “such a nasty woman,” a statement many have adopted with a sense of pride in the hours after the debate.
