101 Innovations in scholarly communication: re-designing research support services

Libraries looking to broaden and improve research support services profit from looking at researcher behaviour. A good approach is to look at the full workflow and match research support services to research practices and tools being actually used by researchers to realize those practices. The data from the survey of innovations in scholarly communications provides a good starting point to do this. That is illustrated by examples from reference management, Open Science support and measuring research impact. Finally, when configuring research support services one could consider the various types/levels of support and what these require from libraries.
