FULL RESULTS
BROWN DEER, WIS.—The Carthage College men's swimming & diving team opened their 2016-17 season at the All-Wisconsin Invitational at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center. University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee hosted the one-day event.

UW-Green Bay, UW-Whitewater, UW-La Crosse, Carroll University (Wis.), UW-Oshkosh, Lawrence University and Beloit College also participated in the event.

The Red Men registered a solid performance in their first meet of the season and
Chris Riordan was a huge reason why. He tallied first place out of 33 swimmers in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.24. Teammate
Paul Devereux took 10
th place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a mark of 1:02.20. Devereux notched another 10
th-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.53.

Sam Gabriel was also a large part of the Red Men's success on Saturday afternoon as he tallied first place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 52.76. He also took second in the 200-yard backstroke with a mark of 1:56.89.
Mitch Scarski trailed him with a time of 2:00.73 in the 200-yard backstroke, good enough for ninth place.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of
James Weslaski,
Chris Russo,
Lee Hollman and Nate Rodriguez took third place with a final time of 3:13.76.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Gabriel, Riordan, Hollman and Weslaski notched third place with a time of 1:37.31. Weslaski claimed second place in the 50-yard freestyle relay with a mark of 21.74, approximately a half second off the first-place finisher.

Russo secured seventh place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47.22, good enough for seventh place.
Cooper Hawkins (sixth, 2:00.87),
Mitch Scarski (seventh, 2:01.30) and Riordan (eighth, 2:01.46) all snuck in the top-10 in the 200-yard individual medley relay. Hawkins (fifth, 2:14.77) and Riordan (sixth, 2:14.77) were tick-for-tack in the 200-yard breaststroke.

Rodriguez notched 10
th place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:06.20. Russo tallied a 5:04.63 in the 500-yard freestyle, good enough for ninth place.
Nick Sall represented Carthage in the 100-yard freestyle, where he took fifth place with a mark of 48.75. Â

Aaron San Juan registered a score of 240.10 in the one-meter dive, good enough for fifth place.

The Red Men will return to action against Lake Forest College at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center on the campus of Carthage College. The event is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m.Â
