Love Addicts Anonymous: Part One

Rate this book
Kade Wright is an expert in rocking any woman's world.

Sexy, rich, and the type you don’t bring home to meet your mother, he has broken more hearts than he can remember, and there is no end in sight. Until one mistake lands him in boiling hot waters. When his company orders him to the LOVE ADDICTS ANONYMOUS Rehab Center, he better get his affairs in order or else he loses his seat on the company board.

Love isn’t supposed to be addictive. But for Vicky Sullivan it is.

A true romantic at heart, she comes with a bit of a stalking tendency, and is completely not adverse to commitment. But who’s Kade to judge? As someone who’s seeking commitment and afraid of never finding love, she’s the type of woman he wouldn’t usually hit on. Except, she’s hot and keeps avoiding him…yes, even after seeing his private parts naked in all their glory.

Kade isn’t known as the tall, dark and ruthless businessman for no reason. Romance isn’t in the air, more like wild between the sheets action with no expectations. Vicky’s convinced she can resist, but Kade has other plans for her.

Can Vicky stay away from the one man who seems so easy to get and so hard to keep?

This was a pretty cute and funny and ridiculous little novella. I'm really excited to see where the next parts will take us.
This was my first JC Reed book - I know - shame on me. But there's just too much to read out there. ☺
The whole sex addict thing reminded me a lot of some other books I've read - like the Ella Frank & Brooke Blaine thingy. But that did have some sex in it. There wasn't any here. I missed that a bit - in a sex addict book. Ok, it wasn't totally unsexy - there was definitely some nakedness - or a lot - that guy sure likes to walk around naked ☺ BUT as I said - I'm excited to see what's next with those two darlings in that rehab center!

Vicky Sullivan believes in true love with all her heart and she is sure she has found it. But her love interest may or may not have other ideas. It is hard to tell since we see their relationship through her point of view. She is spirited, caring, devoted, and perhaps a bit prone to obsession that might be a little stalkerish. And she is delightfully clueless that she may have a tendency to take things a bit too far in the name of love. But all she can see is her future with her perfect man, kids, the white picket fence, and happily-ever-after...if all the negative influences would just get out of their way.

Kade Wright is charismatic, arrogant, funny, and loves sex...lots of it. But he does not do repeats, relationships, and especially not clingers. But his shenanigans are getting some negative attention that is affecting his business...a business that is run with the help of a board that is not too happy losing money due to his personal life. He thinks they are over reacting since he clearly does not have a problem, but his company and money are important to him.

Both don't make a choice to go to LAA (Love Addicts Anonymous). They have their own circumstances and opposite reasons. They don't even think they belong there and are not very open to the therapy. And who would have thought bringing love addicts and a sex addicts together would be a good idea?

Vicky and Kade clash, create friction, and rile each other up. She is normally a sweet optimist, but Kade tends to bring out her more prickly and hostile side. Kade is alpha, cocky, sarcastic, magnetic, and determined to get what he wants. He's all about no-strings-sex and she's all about everlasting love. They should be each other's worst nightmare.

Any kind of fraternization is against the rules. They've both got issues to fix with themselves...if they ever admit they really do have problems. Rules and boundaries are set for a reason. But are they made to be broken?

This is unique, humorous, and full of sexual tension. It is fun to get some cameos from characters from other series as side characters in this one. It is told in Vicky and Kade's points of views. They are quite dynamic characters with interesting history and current circumstances. This story begins the journey for these two and lets us see into their worlds and the issues that have sent them to LAA. Their story will continue in two other novellas that we won't have to wait long for since they will be released close together.

I was gifted an arc in exchange for an honest review.

This is quite a quirky read. Both the hero and heroine have some serious issue. Vicky is a love addict, she is a stalker and totally in love with this mysterious Bruce. Of course, she had tons of reason to justify her feelings for him, but we don't get to know the real deal. Kade is rich and successful, but a sex addict. Of course, he had tons of reason to justify his extracurricular activities that involves 365 days of non-stop sexathon. But now, his board members want his to go to rehab and get help. Oh well, maybe he can bang the therapist or the nurse while he is there.

This short read is definitely light and funny. Both Kade and Vicky is an interesting pair. There isn't much development between them yet, and to be honest, I didn't really get invested in them. Their background information seems limited and character development is still non-existence. Will have to see the next one to give a better judgement on this series.

What happens when you get someone who takes Sex to the next level and someone who takes Love to the next level? You get them as roommates at the newest Love Addicts Rehab Centre. Kade Wright loves sex and has spent the last year making certain he achieves his goal of sleeping with 365 women. This would be alright if he owned a place like a club his friend owns or somewhere that didn't need him to have a good reputation but Kade is CEO of a Fortune 500 type company, and the board has come down hard that Kade needs help, an intervention. Either that or his business is going to fail. Vicky Sullivan, on the other hand, is addicted to the L- word. She loves the idea of love. Her latest relationship has ended up with her being sentenced to Love Addicts Rehab after she repeatedly broke a court order to stay away from a guy she supposedly had a secret relationship with. Vicky has been painted now like a crazy stalker. The thing is that I have to admit reading Vicky's story, I even wanted to shake her and take a long look. There is someone better for you than the guy who denies you and obviously doesn't want anything to do with you if he never takes your side. Kade has only one more woman to sleep with and a few weeks to do it but how can he do it when he is in rehab, and one of the main rules is no sleeping with other patients? This was a fast-paced introduction to the backstory of how the characters ended up in Rehab and their initial assessments of one another. I am now looking forward to reading the next Parts of this series to see what Kade and Vicky get up to and how their therapy sessions go.

"The majority are romantics pining for `The One.`, I call them `deluded lunatics`." - Kade Wright

This is a story about two different people: one who loves too much and one who is too absorbed by meaningless sex to actually contemplate having a relationship.
That's how they get into this situation named `LOVE ADDICTS ANONYMOUS Rehab Center`.
Kade is a ruthless businessman who loves sex a bit too much and that brings him to the point of losing his seat in the company. Vicky is a hopeless romantic. She loves with everything she has and there is nothing that can convince her to resume to anything less than that!

They get roomed together - being part of the whole therapy thing - and Kade being Kade has no shame in walking around naked in front of a shy Vicky who keeps avoiding him.
Can they stay away from each other in order to respect the rules of the center and not hook up?
We'll have to wait and see!! ★★★

A sex addict and a love addict cross paths…

This is part one of a three part serial, it’s of novella length so it’s a quick read.

What man doesn’t like a good bout of sex? Kaiden Wright has taken it to a new level with the calendar. His sex escapades have gotten him in trouble with the Board of Directors of his company, they’ve given him an ultimatum. Go to rehab for his sex addiction or lose his seat on the board or he could just resign. He’s not about to lose the company he built and since he’s not a sex addict he believes he can handle six weeks without sex or can he?

The judge didn’t understand Victoria Sullivan’s reasons for repeatedly breaking the restraining order placed on her by her not really ex-boyfriend and she’s shuffled off to rehab for her love addiction. She truly loves her boyfriend and is being framed by those around him, at least that’s what she tells herself. She can survive six weeks away and then she’ll go back to the real world and see her boyfriend again, that’s her plan but she’ll really miss and worry about him, if only she had her phone.

Place a sex addict and a love addict together and what do you get? A highly explosive situation. Both are in serious denial of their issues and you have to wonder what the therapists were thinking. How can a male sex addict paired up with a woman he finds sexy and gorgeous get over his addiction especially with a woman who falls in love, then clings and stalks? And how can a female love addict heal with a man who thrives on avoiding commitments? This is one strange therapeutic combination.

The encounters between the protagonists are quite amusing with sassy banter, flirtatious on his part, anger fueled on hers. It will be interesting to see how the authors make something real come from this odd pairing, at the moment it’s superficial. Would he even look at her twice, let alone think of her so much if he wasn’t in sex withdrawal? Do they have chemistry? Hard to tell at this stage as there was none palpable just lust from a man who needs sex and a woman’s normal response to a naked man.

We are given the set up in this part of the serial, told in dual points of view. The heroine sees the world through rose-colored lenses, you want to shake her to wake her up to the way she’s been used by a man. The wealthy sexy hero sees the world as a playground for his enjoyment of sex, which is not an addiction to him if you enjoy it. His maturity is in question, men and their bets are always trouble and when Victoria finds out his latest bet it probably won’t sit well with her as it didn’t with this reader.

An advanced reading copy was obtained from the author.

Review to come on Release Day!

Merged review:

An interesting way to bring opposites together!
I was so intrigued by the synopsis; a love addict heroine and a sex addict hero. I couldn’t wait to read how they interacted.

Vicky seems to be the victim of “being in the wrong place at the wrong time,” from what I gathered from the story. Though her thoughts and actions scream “obsess-much,” her retelling of the facts of how she ended up at Love Addicts Anonymous seem to tell a different story.

Kade loves sex. He knows it and he owns it. He makes no apologies for his love of sex, and doesn’t want to put the effort into a woman beyond their time together. Until Vicky. I’m eager to find out how their story continues!

Unfortunately I found this to be a total snoozefest.
Lucky it was a short read. I thought a book on a stalker and a man Whore would have been more interesting

3.5 stars!

Love Addicts Anonymous: Part One is the first book I have read by J.C. Reed and Jackie Steele. It's the beginning of a three part series of novellas and a great start to the story. Since it is only the first part, we get the set up and some background of the characters and not much else, but what we do learn is interesting and I'll definitely continue with the series.

Vicky is hilarious. She is a borderline stalker and completely blind to the truth behind the love she shares with the man she thinks is "The One." After we meet her, it is clear she may have a problem, she just doesn't see it that way.
People are addicted to books. They're addicted to caffeine. To alcohol or drugs. But to love? Sweet, tender love?
How can someone love too much?
But apparently when you violate your restraining order three times, they have no sense of humor.

No matter how much she denies being addicted to love, we see her misconstrue everything and we are left wanting to know exactly what went down.

And then there is Kade. Kade is a sex addict and wow what an addict he is. He is cocky, blunt, and knows exactly what he wants...one-night stands and no repeats; he has zero desire for a relationship.
What I'm looking for is the small percentage (of an already small pool) that actually wants to stay single and enjoys sex without any sort of commitment.
I admit, that's my favorite kind of woman.
Unfortunately, they're not easy to find. The majority are romantics pining for "The One." I call them then "deluded lunatics."

Both Kade and Vicky end up at Love Addict Anonymous Rehab Center (LAA) and as it turns out, they are roommates. Co-ed roommates for a sex addict and a love addict, you ask?! It does sound like an interesting combination. The new therapy includes pairing people with these addictions to help heal each other and I cannot see how this will end in any other way than a disaster.

One of the biggest rules at LAA is no hooking up with the roommate which may prove to be difficult when it seems it's bound to happen between Vicky and Kade.
My gaze meets hers again, and in that moment something happens. I don't know what it is, except that it feels like a valut's just opened. It's deep, intense, and a hell of a lot intimate.

I enjoyed this quick little read.  It was funny and a great set up to what will be an interesting story for sure. The characters are different and I cannot wait to see how they end up interacting.  The banter is silly and you can tell that there will be increasing sexual tension between them as the story goes on.

I felt really bad for Vicky's situation. I just don't know what to believe though. On the outside she comes across as a bit crazy but since we don't know the whole story I refuse to blame her at the moment. I am giving her the benefit of the doubt and can't wait to see what happens next.

Kade. Hmm. He's a toss up. I'm not so sure that I like him yet. I cringed after he described his 365-day sex challenge. I am hoping he changes when he and Vicky have a thing, because lets be honest, you know there will be a thing. I think Kade's casual stance on woman bugs me more than usual but not because of his sex drive and addiction. I think it's the way he thinks about it. I have read a book with a sex addict that I loved so it's not the addiction that irritates me. I think it's the lack of respect for the women that comes across when he is thinking about his addiction, or the lack there of because he does not think he has a problem. I beg to differ.

Overall I enjoyed the first installment in this new series. Though I didn't love it, I still liked it and sped through it. It's long enough to set up the story but I would have wanted a bit more. And with that ending, I am looking forward to diving into the next book!

Jane
Love Addicts Anonymous by J. C Reed is full of quirky, larger than life characters, adventure, mischief and a bit of sexy on the side! Much to my husband’s delight, it had me laughing out loud whilst thinking naughty thoughts about one sexy manwhore (no, not my husband, but sshhh!) Although part one is quite short, I’m giving this straight-to-the-point, amusing read 4 golden stars.
This book starts with the quirky and lovable Vicky (Victoria) Sullivan. A true romantic at heart, she loves love and since being a little girl has wanted nothing more than to get married, have 2 kids and own a house with a picket fence.
Vicky’s works at a nursing home where she was introduced to Bruce, her patient’s son. After going for coffee with Bruce, she immediately knows he is the one she is destined to be with, and even if he doesn’t know it yet, she loves him and will patiently wait till he is ready to say those words too. Maybe patiently isn’t quite Vicky’s forte, hey what’s wrong with wanting to know where he is and what he is doing every day, ok maybe 40 times a day is a bit excessive, but she loves him, and why isn’t he answering her messages? Turning to the Jane Austin fan club for answers might work hmmm?
Breaking her restraining order 3 times, Vicky has been court ordered to attend LAA for a 6 week program. How could she have been so misunderstood, she was only checking the house to make sure Bruce’s ex-wife hadn’t killed him when he never replied! And why didn’t Bruce defend her, he could have told them he loved her too and it was all a big misunderstanding?

Kade (Kaiden) Wright is a rich business owner and one sexy, muscled, dark hair, dark eyed and in his own words, proudly well-hung man. Kade loves sex and everything about it. So much so, he came up with an idea of a 365-day non-stop sex calendar and his best friend Cash, owner of Club 69, couldn’t agree more, becoming his wingman, not that he needs it! Cash makes sure any woman he sleeps with is going to have at least 1, 2 or 3 orgasms, even on the man-pill and tested monthly, he and his partner for the night are going to be guaranteed full enjoyment, any which way they like!
3 days from completing his calendar quest, Kade is summoned by his board members and told he will attend LAA for 6 weeks or be forced to retire from his own business! With his “sex addiction” as his board referred to it as, ruining the company name and scaring off clients and retirement not an option, he is left with little choice but to give in to their demands and attend the centre immediately. Hey, It can’t be an addiction if he enjoys it…easy as!
Watch as the adventures begin, when Vicky a self-confessed lover of love and Kade a self-confessed lover of all things sex, are thrown together as roommates during their 6 week stint at LAA (Love Addict’s Anonymous).

With initial introductions not going quite as planned. Will Kade with his cheeky words and panty-dropping smile and Vicky’s sexier than sexy body, and strong and self-assured attitude, end up seeing these two “coming” together? I see trouble all the way, in a very good way!
This first book in the series introduces the characters and their stories, their first few days at LAA, ending with us having to wait to see what happens in the second book, which is due for release late November 2016.
Great quick read, can’t wait for part 2!

•••••••••

REVIEW: LOVE ADDICTS ANONYMOUS Part 1 by JC Reed and Jackie Steele is a serialized novella series focusing on a six week stint at a rehab center for ‘love addict’ Vicky Sullivan, and ‘sex addict’ Kade Wright.

Told from dual first person points of view (Vicky and Kade) LOVE ADDICTS ANONYMOUS part one focuses on the introduction of our leading couple, and the center’s questionable and controversial mode of therapy pairing sex addicts with love addicts in adjoining suites. What ensues is the back and forth banter between Vicky and Kade, and the possibility that this form of therapy may not be what the doctor has ordered.

Throughout the story line we get up close and personal in the mind of our leading couple-their reasoning, excuses, and thoughts of denial in their attempts to justify their previous actions. Vicky is a woman obsessed with her ex-boyfriend; and Kade is a man determined to complete a year long challenge of a different woman every day. The maturity of both characters is in question; their lack of personal culpability is frightening. There are no $ex scenes or romantic interludes –only reflections of past indiscretions.

LOVE ADDICTS ANONYMOUS part one is a revealing and lively look at two people whose ‘addictions’ pull one another together for a potential explosive union.

*** 3 Cranky Stars ***

First, I want to start this off by acknowledging that this is a series. This first installment is a quick, often hilarious and cringe-worthy read. These are some of my favorite things!

The story centers around Vicky Sullivan and Kade Wright. She's a love addict. He's a sex addict. Both of them are in denial. It was the denial aspect of this story, juxtaposed with their actions, which made this book come alive for me.

They're both forced into rehab and due to a new type of therapy, are forced to share an apartment.

Some of my favorite things: Vicky's letter to the Jane Austen Club, her absolute cringe-worthy antics in her quest for love, and Kade's, um, let's just say uninhibited behavior.

The reason why I've given this book a 3 star rating is because there is a lot of set up for the next installment. I get it. I understand. This is a serial, but in terms of reading this book - not a lot happens apart from the set up.

Even though Vicky is the proverbial bat-etc, I warmed to her. I've met people like her. Maybe not as determined as Vicky, but similar in taking themselves down the cringe-destruction-path.

As for Kade? Well, I have to reserve judgment. I only know the bare basics of what he's like as a person and, um, he's a sex addict.

I'm looking forward to the next chapter. This has the potential to be a fantastic series.

I really enjoyed this book. This is the first book that I have read from both authors. What I loved about it is the storyline. When I first read the blurb I thought, hmmm that is definitely different and it is. This is the first book in a novella series and the authors do a great ob of seating up the story for the reader.

A love addict and a sex addict!! Both forced to go to rehab for their "problem", which is also something that they both deny having. Kade is hot, sexy, rich and a complete manwhore. If you looked up the word in the dictionary, (well if the word is even in the dictionary) you would see a picture of him. This man does not do relationships, and is never with the same girl more than once, because that only leads to feelings which he stays away from But he doesn't think of himself as a sex addict, he truly believes that being with all these women helps and satisfies them sit as much as it does him.

Vicky on the other hand is the complete opposite. She is a love addicted. Yes just like the song she is addicted to love, but maybe jut a bit too much. It is love or infatuation? That is what I am wondering while reading her side of the story. Or does just just have blinders on and simply not see what is going on? I can't wait to find out once se really gets into the therapy part of her rehab.

Vicky and Kade are complete opposites which is why these two have been paired together, not only in rehab but they are assigned to live together. Kade thinks she is hot and beautiful and wants her to be another notch on his very long belt. But she has no desire to be with Kade at all. So this should get very interesting as time goes on.

I loved these characters. We though when we first me Kade I had to ask if this guy was for real, but he made me smile and he made me laugh. And Vicky well she is just on a whole different level of different. lol I loved being inside their heads to see what each of them was thinking. She may be a little crazy and he may be a little cocky but I think these two will be a perfect fit. This novella was fun and witty and I cannot wait to see what happens next. A great start to a new series.

Original Review @ Naomi’s Reading Palace

I'm always excited when J.C. Reed & Jackie S. Steele create a new read together, and I was not disappointed with Love Addicts Anonymous. It was a great introduction to a new story, in an unusual setting with challenging twists that left me needing more!

Vicky was a little quirky, and I could even see that she may indeed need the help she was ordered to endure. She believes she loved Bruce, but I felt sorry for how she was treated by him. She's a very passionate girl who loves with her whole heart and has every intention on getting through her time in the Love Addicts Anonymous Rehab Center. What she didn't expect was to be rooming with a very hot and sexy guy...

Kade was a character I met in the An Indecent Proposal series, and I always wanted to see more to him. He'd found himself in a bit of trouble after he tried to fulfil his mission to bed 365 girls over 365 days. To save his position within the company and to keep everyone happy, he went to the Rehab Center, but had every intention to reach his goal. He's overly confident and believes that he's God's gift to women in the bedroom. Vicky seemed to be a bit of a challenge that intrigued him, so I enjoyed seeing them interact together.

There was another character I was surprised to see and J.C. Reed fans would love it... a character that was introduced in the Surrender Your Love series. I've always liked this carefree and likeable character, and I'm looking forward to how their influence will help Vicky throughout this journey!

Love Addicts Anonymous: Part One was a quick beginning to the series. I enjoyed the character introduction and how the authors set the world up for me to get hooked to. There were a few twists introduced to keep the reader hooked to see where the story is heading. I'm looking forward to continuing the journey!

Reviewed on behalf of The Book Boyfriend Addict (www.bookboyfriendaddict.com). A complimentary copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.

It’s not an addiction if I enjoy every minute of it.
It’s not an addiction if I love what I do.

Kade Wright and Vicky Sullivan are both ordered to participate in the program at LAA (Love Addicts Anonymous) but for very different reasons. Kade is forced to go if he wants to save his seat on his own company’s board because his latest sexcapades have landed him in some hot water in the press. The board sees this as the best way to save face and get the company back on the right track. Vicky is court ordered to attend after her actions towards her boyfriend, Bruce, are seen as a bit (okay, totally) stalkerish. Both are in denial and feel they don’t need to be there. What’ll happen when someone who avoids commitment like the plague is forced to room with someone who takes their idea of commitment to the extreme?

I wasn’t aware when I started this book that it was a multi-part story but as things were moving along and I was about 90% it became clear that things had barely even started, let alone ready to be wrapped up. So I’m actually glad to see that there will be more. This book really just set the stage for the rest of the story, we got to know what Kade and Vicky were all about and what landed them at LAA. Their backstories are definitely a bit over the top but I’m thinking that was intentional, it showcases how opposite they are. Not too much happened between them during this book but the stage was set for what’s to happen next and I think as different as they are, I think it’ll be a lot of fun to see how everything plays out. Looking forward to the next installment!

But good gracious… my new roommate is a goddamn nutcase.
And most importantly, she’s hot.

Love Addicts Anonymous is a promising start to a new series and was an enjoyable short read. The story introduces readers to the characters and gives readers the reasons why the characters are in a Love Addicts rehab centre. The story does kind of finish a bit abruptly and left me hoping that it doesn’t take too long for the next book to be released.

The male character of the book Kade was a sexy, enjoyable and fun character that I found really entertaining. The book is told from his and the female main characters point of view and I laughed a lot throughout Kade’s point of view. The comments he made me laugh so hard I had tears in my eyes.

Vicky is an interesting character that I felt for a lot. The reasons why she is at the Love Addicts rehab centre makes feel bad for her. I enjoyed her a lot and like Kade is very funny to read about. I enjoyed the dialogue that she has and the comments that she makes about Kade.

Love Addicts Anonymous is about two characters Vicky and Kade who are admitted to a Love Addicts rehab centre. Both characters are roomed together in a new therapy plan for the both of them.

Overall, this was a funny and enjoyable read that I read within a few hours. I liked the idea of how the characters are opposites but the way they are attracted to each other. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the series.

I am finding this review a real struggle to write just because the book was so short and not much happened. It was more of a teaser / not much happens book if you ask me but it was enough to make me want to know what happens in the next instalment.

Kade and Vicky both find themselves being sent to Love Addicts Anonymous rehab centre, both for different reasons. However upon arrival they find themselves bunked up as room mates under a trial scheme the rehab centre is running. Kade is a sex addict and Vicky has been deemed a love stalker but all is not what it seems on one or maybe both accounts. Will they break the rules of no sex with any other attendee? Who knows as it's not got that far yet!

I liked the premise of this story, however just in my own opinion I think I would have loved it as a full length book rather than 3 serial novella's, it would have been an instant hit. I would have liked that little bit more of character build up in Kade, I felt that we got to the bottom of the truth with Vicky but Kade not so much. Over all the way it was written worked it's magic as I now need to know what happens next, I just feel disappointed in the shortness and the way it ended but hey you can't please us all.

Do I enjoy reading it? I like their conservation, it is funny n make you smile. But, yes, this is not my kind of book, two mental illness people gather in a rehab centre, they need to face their problems n need to deal with their addicts. One is stalker and one is sex.

Vicky n Kade, they maybe in a good look on appearance but they did have problems.

Rating: 3.75/5 Penguins
Quick Reasons: fun, unique, addictive story; these characters are fresh and individualized and SO SNARKY I love them!; entertaining, dramatic, sometimes uncomfortable read; I giggled out loud much too much; quick and easy to get into; I guess I should have paid more attention to the fine print?

Huge thanks to J.C. Reed, Jackie S. Steele, and Lady Amber's Reviews for sending me an advance copy of this title free in exchange for an honest review! This in no way altered my read of or opinions on this book.

People are addicted to books. They're addicted to caffeine. To alcohol or drugs. But to love? Sweet, tender love?

How can someone love too much?

But apparently when you violate your restraining orders three times, they have no sense of humor.

Let me just start by saying, penguins: I should have probably paid more attention to the fine print. You see, when I went into this read, I didn't realize that "part one" meant "this book just sort of STOPS dead in the water in the very middle of the plot." I didn't realize that I'd breeze through the book so quickly...and be left with rather a lot of anger at the ending. Because the ending? Nonexistent. This book just sort of stalls out, a looming cliffhanger, a "find out what happens NEXT WEEK on: The Bachelor!" I'll be honest. I raged. I ranted. I took to facebook and vented and screamed and threw a fit, because THIS IS NOT the way books should end! And then I realized...it doesn't really matter. If I hadn't enjoyed the read as much as I did, I wouldn't be raging so hard about it. Right? So I'm going to pretend I went into this book knowing it's more like a serial publication than an actual complete novel, and move right on along.

So let's talk about the actual content, yes? This was a super entertaining, snarky, unique read! I have, in the past, been accused of being addicted to love. Having read this...well, I'm not sure I can agree anymore, but I'll concede that I know people who ARE. The plot is not necessarily full of action, but full of fun and wit and a mature humor I don't often find myself reading. It was a ton of fun to step outside of my normal "reading zone" and into something completely different--and J.C. Reed made it MORE fun by crafting such unique, individualized, complex characters.

My gaze meets hers again, and in that moment something happens. I don't know what it is, except that it feels like a vault's just opened. It's deep, intense, and a hell of a lot intimate.

In fact, these characters are the epitome of "opposites attract"--and are so much fun to read and imagine. They leap off the page, they beg readers to dig deeper, and they stick to their guns--for the most part. The problem is... I feel like this isn't a complete novel. I keep coming back to the "part one" idea, and how J.C. Reed played out the ending. I keep coming back to the fact that I feel like I was JUST beginning to scratch the surface of this book, only to have the rug yanked out from under me. These characters are a BLAST, but I don't feel like the plot progressed very far in the grand scheme of this book before it was suddenly THE END. I had so much fun diving into these characters' heads and taking this journey, but I was, in the end, expecting more of the "fluffy, feel-good, steamy romance" than I actually got.

This book wins! in terms of snarky, witty repertoire and unique, entertaining characters. This book even wins! in terms of giggle fits, quick reading, and awkwardly hilarious scenarios. But in terms of "novel," in terms of "complete read," in terms of "a well-rounded and full plot," ........ I think this book loses. I'll be picking up the next one, when it's released--because I'm in for the long haul, now. I want my steamy fun, penguins! But I won't lie and say I'm not also disappointed. Still, I recommend this to readers of romance, high-stakes endeavors, and snarky fun! For now, I'm off to sew my very conflicted selves together.

This has been in my Kindle app for so long , because I was waiting for the 2nd installment, which never appeared. But to be honest the first half of the book drags. Nothing exciting happens, just excuse after excuse, which was repeated needlessly. It was annoying. If I come across the second book, I may read it.

ARC received for an honest review

It has been a long time since I have read a J.C Reed book, and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed them.

The premise of Love Addicts Anonymous is like the start of a joke... a sex addict and a love addict are paired up to cure their addictions.

Like all addicts, neither Kade nor Vicky feels they have an addiction, and while they are fighting the denial, they are also drawn to each other. Well, they do say opposites attract!

Kade and Vicky could be so bad for each other.. or they could be so good. In this first installment we are only just getting the set up of why they are in rehab, so not too much has happened yet, but even with what we have so far... there is going to be flamage between them if the spark is anything to go by!

I hurt for Vicky as we learn more of her story and why she is where she is today. I got so angry on her behalf I wanted to crush my kindle.

Kade... so far he is coming across as the cocky "every woman wants me" guy but I could start to see the man behind all that - only a smidge but he is there.

Things are going to heat up in the next installments, and thankfully they are not far away.

Can't wait to get into part 2.

What do you get when a love addict and a sex addict cross the road? This fabulous book!! This is book 1 in the startup in the series. Vicky Sullivan believes in true love with all her heart but her belief is not taken well by the other party and they find her “attention” quite stalkerish. Thing is, from Vicy’s POV, we can see how she truly loves and she gives it her all. But others don’t see things her way. She feels that if only she was loved back in return, then things with her beloved would go the way it should and then maybe this “person” wouldn’t be so bad and they wouldn’t let outsiders influence him/them.
Then we have the stud-- Kade Wright- oh he is sharp, intelligent, got a great sense of humor and boy does he love SEX. Only thing is, after he hits it, he quits it and them immediately. You will not see him do repeats. But his antics are causing trouble with his company to the point he is about to lose his company and his job all because he cant stay focused and they are losing money.
So meet Vicky and Kade- -the newest to LAA or better known as Love Addicts Anonymous. Oh no, they didn’t join because they wanted to but they had to be forced because things were so bad and oh well, because hey, where else are they going to get the help they needed without the ridicule. But these two are like oil and water immediately. And to top it off, they don't even think they belong there and are not really open to the therapy given there. I loved reading the scnes that was held between them. The banter and the smack they gave was epic. Vicky and Kade go back and forth, they clash and then they light each other up. They are electric and they end up bringing out the worst and the best in each other. I wonder, who would have thought bringing love addicts and a sex addicts together would be a good idea? Maybe they are sort of on to something. Thing is, they aren’t supposed to be seen talking or hanging out together but don’t sweat it. They have got this down pat and have made sure not to get caught. What a sexual banter laced book , with a deeply emotional laced read –oh its humorous yet at the same time we are slowly learning what the stories are. I am so drawn in and I need more of Vicky and Kade’s stories. I need to know what is going to happen like now. 11/21 cannot come fast enough for book 2 in this series.

My rating: 4.5 stars ****

There are so many good books around at the minute it is hard to know which one to pick up, well as the start of a new series I would encourage you to give this a shot because I found it fascinating.

This was more of an introduction that I thought it was going to be, a chance to get a little me time with the characters at to see what made them tick and in some cases it was rather a lot! I admire the amount of information the author was able to pour into each page, because despite the fact that the book was relatively short it didn’t hold back on content, it was full to bursting.

The foundation of the story is the opportunity to discover who and why each of the main protagonists are in the Love Addicts Rehab facility. What have they been through to reach the point where this particular facility is their solution?

First on my list of new leading men in my life is Kade, he brought a smile to my face and a very vivid picture to my mind, he seemed like he was a lot of fun, he certainly made me laugh out loud on more than a few occasions. I loved that the story was partially told from his point of view it brought him to life somewhat.

Vicky also had her chance to tell things from her perspective and I have to say I couldn’t help but feel as if I just wanted to give her a hug, I hated that she was in rehab, but it was the right place for her.

Thrown together they are on board with the regime but for how long? Can they stick with what the centre has in store for them and as for rooming the pair of them together well, I was ready to call foul on that…really guys too much temptation!

The relationship between Kade and Vicky was fabulous, they had a piqued interest that they almost tempered to the point of ignoring but they were fighting again the tide, a blind man could have seen they were attracted to each other but acting on it????

Well that’s a different matter, after all they have to be mindful of where they are and why. But that doesn’t mean that we can’t enjoy the bravado of the time they spend together, the banter that they share and the anticipation of what could possibly be.

With more to come I was ok with the fact that the book came to an abrupt halt, I had expected it to finish in that particular manner but then again, who am I to judge I didn’t write it and the author obviously has her reasons, I just hope the next book is due soon because this is a series I can’t wait to get more of.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Io assolutamente no!!

Xoxo Tea
