Texas has some of the harshest marijuana laws in the country. Edibles are treated as a controlled substance, which means that the state considers the full weight of the product in sentencing. So a full tray of pot brownies, even if it just has some weak hash you scored on Craigslist, could qualify as an “enhanced first degree” felony and carry a potential sentence of up to life in prison.

Terrifying, right? Thankfully, the law offices of Hutson & Harris created this memorable country song to help you make an informed decision the next time you get the munchies—or watch Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart’s new cooking show. Dan Stokes steals the video with his straight-faced props and harmony. You have to give them credit for knowing their audience: There’s even a shoutout to Reddit’s weed hub, r/Trees.

Hutson & Harris is a law firm in Waco that serves most of Central Texas. It has a five-star rating with Google reviews and a history of turning legal advice into country hits.
