Everton and Southampton are said to be competing for the signature of Arsenal forward Theo Walcott.
Koeman is not fondly remember by the Southampton crowd, who were disappointed with the way he left them to join Everton.
The Toffees’ forward line has been too static so far this season, and Everton are struggling as a result.
But Southampton may have added incentive to snap up Walcott, as it would give them a chance to frustrate their former manager.
Koeman desperately needs to improve the quality of his attack at Everton, if he is to keep his job at Goodison Park, with the pressure rapidly mounting on the 54-year-old manager.
But with Southampton also keen on Walcott it will be interesting to see who wins out in the battle for the rapid striker’s signature.
