Perhaps Auburn's most important recruit has now arrived on campus for a midweek visit.

Jarrett Stidham, a quarterback who 247Sports now ranks as the No. 1 junior college recruit (ahead of Alabama transfer Blake Barnett), despite the fact he's not playing this fall for McLennan Community College in Texas, announced that he is now at Auburn for his third visit since the summer.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Stidham was ranked as the nation's No. 13 overall player by 247Sports' individual rankings coming out of Stephenville, Texas in the class of 2015. Scout.com also rated Stidham as a five-star recruit. This is an unofficial visit, per 247Sports.

Stidham played in 10 games as a true freshman at Baylor in 2015, hitting 68 percent of his passes for 1,265 yards, 12 touchdowns and two interceptions. He left Baylor after head coach Art Briles was fired.

Texas A&M is likely the top competitor for Stidham's services, as the Aggies lose senior starter Trevor Knight and don't have much experience returning at the position. According to 247Sports, Texas and Florida have reached out. More could follow.

Auburn returns several players at the quarterback spot next year, including starter Sean White, but Stidham has the talent to come in and win the job.

Auburn also returns John Franklin III, Woody Barrett and Tyler Queen at the position and has a commitment from Dawson, Ga., four-star Tray Bishop.

** In other Auburn coach visit news early in the week, head coach Gus Malzahn has stopped by to see Grenada, Miss., four-star safety C.J. Avery and Navarre, Fla., offensive lineman Nick Brahms, an Auburn commit.

Here are the Brahms' family dogs with Malzahn. Good looking doggies.

** Tigers' co-defensive coordinator and secondary coach Wesley McGriff has made a few visits, joining Malzahn to see Avery and also visiting Muscle Shoals' Jordyn Peters, another Auburn commit.

** Four-star prospects Isaiah Buggs (Mississippi Gulf Coast DL) and Markaviest Bryant (Cordele, Ga., DL) also indicated that Auburn coaches visited. Auburn coaches will be at James Clemens High this week as linebacker Monty Rice is an attainable top target. Four-star defensive end LaBryan Ray has said he isn't likely to give Auburn an official visit.
