For All the Evers

Rate this book
Fallen Billow should be in college like most of her friends, but instead she’s raising her brother and working as a housekeeper at a vintage local hotel. It’s back-breaking work, but not nearly as challenging as fending off unwanted advances from the hotel’s owner.

Thomas McHugh is fighting for our country, across the globe and decades before Fallen Billow was even born. So there’s no way they’re soul mates. There’s no way he can be desperate to see her, hold her, kiss her. Except there is.

Is it a dream when he inks his name on her skin? Is it a delusion when she puts her hands on his face and says she loves him? Nothing has ever felt more real.

Fate has etched paths for Thomas and Fallen that even time cannot touch. A Purple Heart proclaims Thomas’ valor and bravery. And his death. But Fallen dares to dream of the impossible. She wants Thomas to stay. Just stay.

A tribute to all who have served our country, this novel honors the impossible beauty of love and the endless power of hope. Come open your heart and celebrate the many facets of bravery with Fallen and Thomas.

Having never read a Debra Anastasia book before, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this. All I knew is after reading the blurb, I couldn’t not read it. First and foremost, I have to say that 'For All the Evers' was one of the most romantic, epic tale I’ve read in a long time. This story is about finding your true love, your soulmate and finding your happily ever after, but it’s also a story that honors war veterans as well. I loved how the author did that in such a heartwarming, respectful way. It was an equally heartbreaking and heartwarming story that really touched my heart, made me think and made me feel.

“Remember this. Remember us…know that I love you more than time.”

Fallen’s life is not easy at the moment. She’s a 21 years old young woman who’s struggling to take care of his young brother. Since their mother is an alcoholic who stopped being a mother a long time ago, Fallen to provide for her and her brother, was forced to drop out of college. She got a new job, at the Hotel Revel, cleaning all the rooms on the fifth floor. When she finds out that one of the rooms, room 514, is never occupied, Fallen doesn’t question it too much. However, she’s intrigued when she’s warned never to fall asleep there. But Fallen falls asleep in room 514 and she’s transported in a strange world, a world where everything seems so real, too real no to wonder if it's the real world. There she meets Lad, a weird, creepy man who doesn’t seem trustworthy at all and Thomas, a handsome soldier who unfortunately for her seems to be as confused as she is.

Thomas doesn’t know anything about his new “reality” or why he’s there, but he knows he feels a strong connection with Fallen, being very attracted with her.

“When you looked at me? I felt like I’d been waiting to see you my whole life, that my soul was off center until you put your arms around me. I felt safe, and until then I hadn’t even been sure what safe was.”

Fallen continues to fall asleep in room 514 every Thursday, meeting with her soldier, sharing everything that is to share with each other. Both of them try to make their dream a reality, both of them trying in their worlds to find the other. As time passes, they have many obstacles to overcome, for both of them the most important thing being the need to give the other all the evers.

”I’ll love you for all the evers I get.” She blew a kiss, and the wisp of him washed away with the sentiment.”

'For All the Evers' was unique, refreshing, deeply touching, beautifully written story. It gave me all the feels and I honestly enjoyed every minute of it. I loved the premise, mainly because I’ve never read a story like this and I enjoyed how the plot unfolded as the story progressed. Fallen and Thomas’s story was as I mentioned above romantic before anything else. Debra Anastasia did a wonderful job with the romantic aspect here, blending the passion, the magic, drama and angst in a very enthralling way. Some events will keep you at the edge of your seat, but some events will make you smile and swoon like never before, because these two characters’ love story was one of a kind.

“With you, it’s like my heart’s opening up, and I’m terrified to feel, after all this time. Yet I don’t have a choice. No matter where I am, I draw your face whenever I get a scrap of paper.”

I loved Fallen and Thomas’s portrayals. They were well developed, endearing characters I loved reading about. I liked how determined Fallen was to do anything in her power her dream to become reality, how much she fought for what she loved, but also her loyalty towards her brother, her strength and her selflessness. Thomas was that kind of hero you wish to read about in every single romance novel. Like Fallen, I fell deeply for him. His sweet words, his personality and the way he cared and loved Fallen as the story unfolded warmed my heart. His passion and devotion meant everything to me as much as it meant to Fallen.

The story is written entirely from Fallen’s point-of-view. I liked being in her head and feel everything she experienced as the story progressed, but I would have liked at least some parts to be In Thomas’s point-of-view.

What didn’t work for me was how abrupt the ending was. Everything concluded too fast for my liking, so I truly think an epilogue would have helped.

All in all, 'For All the Evers' was a beautiful, compelling, though-provoking read that I highly recommend if you are looking for an epic love story or for something unique.

5 ‘I want you to be real’ STARS

description

This story is dedicated to the author’s uncle who died with honor serving our country during World War II. Thomas F. McHugh may not have had a wife, or children, or any descendants other than his siblings, but through his niece's imagination she has gifted him a romance that is beautiful and timeless.

description

The author’s love and want to gift something to her uncle whom she had never met is a thing of beauty. Her imagination gifted a story so interesting and exciting it was hard to put it down for even a moment. The story is told in Fallen Billow’s point of view. Fallen is struggling to take care of her high school aged brother while her alcoholic mother comes in and out of their lives. The calendar year is 2016 and Fallen is twenty-one years old. She has just landed a job at the Hotel Revel in White Plains. She is in charge of cleaning several rooms on the fifth floor during her shifts one of those rooms is never occupied yet must be tended to…room #514.

Fallen is warned never to fall asleep in room 514 so when it does happen by accident the story and magical aspect transports her to a dream like reality. In this dream like place she meets an aggressive man name Lad who appears to know her as well as a gorgeous solider named Thomas. Thomas is just as confused by the situation as she is. Slowly Fallen and Thomas attract and connect to one another.

”I’m scared because I don’t remember how I got here, and all of those people seem to know me,” she told him. “Do you know me,” she told him. “Do you know me?””No sweetheart. And I don’t know how I got here either.”

description

Does it really matter to a reader the ways in which it is possibly for Fallen to fall asleep in this room and magically be able to spend time in this dream like place? The room is explained as having magically powers which align soulmates. All is perfect as Fallen sleeps on Thursdays and meets Thomas week after week. I was so eager to return just to see Thomas the soldier again and again. Though the two can’t truly say factual information to one another they do over time become lovers. As they both try to find one another in the outside world.

”Give me kisses that will make me forget to wake up.”

description

Lad the odd man from her dreams turns out to be owner of the hotel who is totally obsessed with Fallen. His relentless pursuit of Fallen is creepy added to the fact newspaper clippings claim that Thomas died in May of 1945. All leaves a reader in a state of panic reading on hoping against hope that Thomas and Fallen’s love isn’t doomed.

”I’ll love you for all the evers I get.” She blew a kiss, and the wisp of him washed away with the sentiment.”

description

The story is impossible to put down, magical and romantic. Through the author’s writing she gifted her uncle an epic love story that transcends time.

”Words can connect us where time fails to offer the opportunity.”

22-year old Fallen has recently given up college to come back home and work full-time at a local hotel. Her mom basically left her and her little brother Fenn alone once her alcohol addiction became too much. And now she's pretty much completely gone from their life. Fallen has to work really hard to keep her 16-year old brother fed and clothed and on his way to college - she can't even think about who's going to pay for that!

Her new job at that vintage hotel in White Plains, NY, is keeping her mega busy. She's responsible for cleaning the fifth floor.

Especially room 514 - the room no one ever stays in. She has to clean it every day!

And on one of those days she suddenly falls asleep on the bed and wakes up somewhere else. And there she meets the most amazing and beautiful man she's ever seen... Thomas. He also fell asleep somewhere and woke up to find this beautiful girl of his dreams in those woods...

Fallen has no idea what's happening, but every time she falls asleep on the job, in that room, she wakes up to find Thomas already waiting for her. But why? How? Is it all a dream? It feels so real! She wants it to be real. Thomas makes her feel safe for the first time in her life. Safe. Protected. Loved. But how can you be in love with a man that doesn't exist... or does he?

And what about her creepy boss? What does he know about the room and her dreams??

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO FALLEN & THOMAS?
WILL THERE BE A CHANCE FOR A HEA???
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT ☺

I wasn't so sure about the book before I started reading. The whole 'ghost' thing was scaring me off a bit. How can there be a HEA when one of them has been dead for 70 years?

But then I started reading and I already started crying before the book even started - when Debra tells us a tiny little bit about her grandpa's brother Uncle Tommy - who inspired her to write this book. Ugh. And then the crying got worse in the prologue! Jeez. I was a mess before the book even started! ☺

I just loved the story!

I couldn't stop reading. You just HAVE to keep on reading to find out if there is even the littlest of chances for our two darlings. It all seems so horribly impossible, but still we want them to get their Happily Ever After!

Once I put the book away that night to make dinner and watch some tv, I still kept thinking about how they could get their Happy End!!! ☺

This was an amazingly beautiful and very exciting, even suspensy romance!

There are so many sad and moving moments, but also so many beautifully romantic and sexy and adorable moments! I just loved it, even though it wasn't really my genre! Hm, I think this genre doesn't really exist. It wasn't some kind of spooky ghost / haunted old hotel story. It was something completely different and very entertaining in so many ways.

Another thing that I really loved about the book. The cover! The couple is really cute ;) and the letter in the background - those are the original words of Debra's Uncle Tommy! ♥ There's more of that in the real paperback edition - my blogger edition didn't have all that!

What I didn't think about while reading was the impossibleness of the whole situation. Ghosts and magic mirrors and time-travel don't exist - but I didn't care! I just wanted them to end up happily ever after! ☺ BUY THE BOOK TO FIND OUT IF THEY DO!!!!!!!

FOR ALL THE EVERS was such an amazingly beautiful & adorable & moving & exciting & different love story!! Run to your nearest amazon asap, and don't forget to buy a few boxes of tissues while you're at it!!!!

"Don't cry, my pretty Fallen. This. What we just did here? It will be the light in my darkest goddamn hour. Memories of time with you are my sanity."

First of all, I read this book in one sitting (I finished it around 4:30AM) and used a lot of tissues because I was crying my eyes out. Debra did an amazing job and this book is one of the most beautiful way to honor her uncle Tommy. For All the Evers was such a magical, beautiful and heartbreaking book. Impossible things happened in this book, and I love how Debra came up with this amazing story. If you are looking for a one of a kind love story, read this book because you've never read any book like this one. I was sucked into this book and couldn't put it down, I just had to find out what would happen to Fallen and Thomas.

I don't want to give too much away because you should just go in blind and experience this book. Make sure you have some tissues handy because I did some ugly-crying (trust me I did not look good at all). There was so much more going on in this book, the author had created such a phenomenal and intriguing story. It was a page turner from the start. Fallen was a very strong, hard-working, and selfless person. She gave up a lot to give her younger brother a better life. I felt every emotion she was feeling in this book, and that is in my opinion very important when I am reading a book. I need to become one with the characters and live what they are living. And I was able to do that perfectly with this book.

This book is about soul mates and about love that is impossible. For All the Evers is one of my favorite books of 2016. I hope that everyone finds love like Fallen and Thomas', I hope one day I do!

Release Date: December 18, 2016
Genre: Contemporary
POV: Heroine - 3rd person
Steam: 2
Series or Standalone: Standalone
Publisher: Self-published

The start to this beautiful love story was a letter the author wrote for her uncle Tommy, who was the inspiration behind this book. Although he died in WWII, his spirit lived on with his family.
"After people read this, you will be known. You will be remembered. And you will be loved."

Debra Anastasia was not wrong. This story was heartbreaking and heartwarming. The love held within its pages was astonishingly bittersweet. I hurt even when I was smiling. It took me nearly no time at all to start cheering the couple on for their HEA and I loved how the author suspended reality in order to achieve it.

Fallen was a 21 year old who had dropped out of college in order to take care of her younger brother. Their mother was an alcoholic and had long since given up her motherly duties and responsibilities. Fallen got a job at a historic hotel to make ends meet. While going over her duties, she learns that she must clean room 514, even though no one ever stays in it. She's also warned to NEVER fall asleep in that room. However, fall asleep she does! While sleeping, she enters a dream-like reality and is confused on how she arrived there. She meets a man named Lad who seems to know who she is but she immediately feels that he is not one to trust. She then meets a gorgeous man named Thomas, who seems just as confused by the circumstances of the dream as she is. They immediately embrace their shared connections, as if their souls recognized each other. Over time and through many sleeps in room 514, Fallen becomes determined to make her dreams a reality. She wants a future with the man she loves, Thomas, and he with her. Unfortunately, the year is 2016 and the man she loves is a soldier in WWII.

Between a manipulative mother, an overly aggressive and possessive Lad, and a drive to provide the best life and future to her brother, Fallen never gives up hope that one day she and Thomas will be united in the flesh. With the help of some much-needed allies, Fallen is able to maneuver herself around Lad's strange obsession in order to make time for Thomas. And Thomas tries everything in his power to survive until he can see her again.

This book was truly romantic. It had a Nicholas Sparks feel to it. Not many people can write angst and drama and love and make it so swoon-y. This story had an ethereal quality to it and I'm not quite sure if it's just the author's writing or because of the subject matter. I do know that I paid rapt attention to the way everything unfolded from the first page, not willing to miss one detail. The only disappointment I had was with the ending. It's pretty abrupt considering the buildup that was created throughout the story. I didn't feel like I got real closure and would have appreciated more, if not an epilogue. Overall, this book was entertaining and enjoyable.

This is a book the main purpose of which is to honor the war veterans, especially the writer’s great uncle Thomas McHugh.

With all my respect to him and all the other war veterans all over the world, I really expected a tear jerker book but instead, what I found was a fairy tale for small children under the disguise of a paranormal romance.

OK, I can also dream of something crazy – something that can happen only in dreams and base my novel on that plot and keep my explanations as to how it happens to myself only and not share it with the readers - but then, who would believe it? I think only children whose mothers read bedtime stories to.

FOR ALL THE EVERS has a concept, or a plot that is a very extraordinary and imaginary - one you can only dream of. You can - maybe, just maybe - pull it through even with a very unbelievable and irrational concept like that if you give some sensible explanations, but showing miracles with no explanations is not good enough. How do you expect me to believe in all that if you give no explanations, let alone a sensible one?

The heroine says something like, “Oh I just did that, yayyyy!” and hours after I finished reading it, I still keep asking myself how she did that because I am not a 4 year-old child listening to a fairy tale and I cannot wrap my mind around it without any explanations.

As this book contains "adult scenes" that children shouldn’t read at all, it sure isn’t a fairy tale suitable for children. Ergo, I have no idea for whom this book is for.

The idea of writing a book about soldiers fighting for their country is respectable and I really appreciate the effort but I kept questioning the paranormal aspect of the book rather than feeling sorry for the soldiers losing their lives because the book is not focused on soldiers and their deeds at all.

A book about war veterans should have made me ugly cry, or at least should have made me feel sympathy towards the characters, but partly because of the writing in the third person and partly because of the absurdity of the situation, I felt detached from all the characters. A book like this should be written from dual-point of view. The way it is written is awfully distracting, even without the frequent editing mistakes.

Also, there seemed to be so much going on, from the heroine’s alcoholic mother to her brother trying to complete his education. All these details about her family situation were really boring. I wanted to skip them but I didn’t do it for fear of losing a hint or a clue but my efforts were in vain, obviously.

While this book wasn’t for me at all, I feel like giving it 3 points out of 2,5 for the effort and the honorable dedication of it. Otherwise, it could easily have been a 2-star book for me.

However, while this book couldn’t satisfy me at all, it sure can appeal to many people who are willing to accept hot fairy tale stories with paranormal happenings in it even if there is no explanation to any of them.

If you wonder what it is all about, you can unhide the spoiler.
And in the end, I have like 9 or 10 questions unanswered!

Let me make it clear once again that me, not enjoying this book enough is about the paranormal aspect of it. With all my respect to war veterans throughout the world, I would have preferred “a realistic love story of a soldier” instead of this.

Sorry guys but this is going to have to be a no frills review with no spoilers..

FOR ALL THE EVERS: Reading the 'Prologue' it feels like it's setting us up for a fall as we're left spiralling into an emotional abyss that you can just feel is going to come at us full throttle. An unconventional romance.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic "I'll love you for all the evers I get, Don't close your eyes. Please stay..Just stay..I'm begging you.. And I've never begged anyone for anything, ever..Love me enough to stay.."

I pretty much went into this blind, I didn't read the synopsis or even glance at any reviews because one glance at the author and I had to sign my ass up for this, to best enjoy this book you need to go in blind, don't be sneaky and take peaks at reviews, because you need to experience for yourself the pull on all your strings as you read about these two star crossed lovers and believe me you will feel that pull.

The plot of the story had me flabbergasted because I truly did not expect this unique tale that this author weaved. Expect the unexpected. This is more than just your typical love story, boy meets girl, and they live happily ever after, this story is something the author holds close to her heart, so breathtakingly beautifully written.

Fallen Billow has had to leave the life as she knew it to step up and become a surrogate mother to her younger brother because of their own mothers addiction to the bottle and the neglect that comes along with an alcoholic. Her lifelong dream was to become a teacher but that had to go on hold so that her brother could finish high school or even to college.

Life isn't easy by any means, struggling to put food on the table, pay the bills with a mother that takes from them every chance she can get to get her next alcoholic fix. A job as a cleaner is the only way she's able to keep their heads above water. Things in this hotel especially room 514 are not as they seem. The room no one uses but is to be cleaned every day without fail. This was her favourite room to clean out of her allocated lot since no one stayed in there it was just a quick once over.

Meeting the man of her dreams, her soul mate is the only highlight she has each Thursday when she gets to spend time with him even though it's a brief moment in time.

No question, this is a beautifully written romance, however it is a paranormal/time travel read, and not my usual genre of choice. I really wanted to love it since it involves a military hero, but I just found it difficult to connect to the storyline, although it did keep me guessing as to the conclusion. I really think this is a case of "it's just me" and not the book.

This is a love story where the present collides with the past, and the H and h are trying desperately to combine the two. This is the story of Fallen and Thomas. She, a beautiful young woman who is caring for her younger brother through difficult financial times, and he, a soldier fighting for his country during World War II. They meet only in Fallen's dreams.

Fallen's life is not going as planned. At twenty-one years of age, she must quit college to come back home and look after her teenage brother, Fenn. Their mother is a 24/7 alcoholic who deserted Fenn and moved in with her boyfriend. The mortgage and utility bills are all in arrears and the cupboards are bare, so Fallen finds work as a housekeeper with the local hotel. The owner is a disgusting pig of a man who finds Fallen extremely attractive and sexually harasses her knowing she cannot afford to lose her job.

Fallen's responsibility is to clean the rooms on the fifth floor, and even though no one ever stays there, Room 514 must be cleaned everyday, no questions asked. One afternoon while cleaning this particular room, she lays down on the bed to rest, and for reasons unbeknownst to Fallen, she ends up in a forest and in the company of the most handsome man she has ever met. His name is Thomas, and he has no idea why he is in the forest either. All they do know is they want to keep meeting each other. Fallen discovers if she goes to Room 514 on Thursday's and falls asleep, she will find Thomas in her dreams. They yearn to be together forever.

The author dedicated this book to honor her Great Uncle Thomas McHugh who fought in World War II and gave his life for our country. He died without a wife or children. It is a beautiful tribute!

“When I saw you? When you looked at me? I felt like I’d been waiting to see you my whole life, that my soul was off center until you put your arms around me. I felt safe, and until then I hadn’t even been sure what safe was.”

This is a very difficult book to review in too many words as it’s so easy to ruin it with spoilers, which we have always vowed never to do, as we ourselves hate knowing anything that will impact our enjoyment of a story. So as per usual, we won’t. Debra Anastasia has written something incredibly special in For All The Evers. It was superb and mesmerising.

“Yours is a face worth fighting for. Don’t worry. I’ll make your future safe.”

A story dedicated to her Uncle Thomas whom she’s never met, and who fought and died in war. We know he would’ve been incredibly proud of her for writing this epic romance in his name and honour. If that wasn’t enough to make our hearts beat that little bit faster, this story took our hearts and pushed them so much further. Truly. Madly. Deeply.

“If true love hurts more than this does, I don’t want any part of it.”

A story with an otherworldly feel written in the most enthralling, beautiful and captivating way. Debra Anastasia reminded us of why we fell in love with her writing years ago. This felt utterly real, honest and bursting with hope and love. We were overwhelmed by how intensely we felt this Authors heart beating in every page turned. Her love for her characters so powerful, we were fully involved as we felt the pain, the love, the loss, the desperation and the hope. We felt the fight. We felt the importance of this story and the passion for it. We felt every single word.

“Dream girl. I love you enough to die for you.”

Written from the heart, this is a journey where past meets present, depicting bravery, addiction, sacrifice, determination, perseverance and redemption. Ultimately it captured the very essence of love and what we’d do in the name of love. We cried tears of joy and devastation. Debra Anastasia wrote a wonderfully unique story that felt so different and new. We willed it to be, with fear in our hearts. Wanting and needing this love to survive, be real and conquer what is unfathomable. Thomas and Fallen’s love story stole our very souls, Debra Anastasia handed our hearts to them through her words and we gave them gladly.

“I’ll love you for all the evers I get.”

From the start we know that this is a story that the author holds very dear to her heart. I will admit that right at the start, this story was so unique and I loved seeing and feeling a more personal connecten like I did with tommy.

I won't go into too much detail but I really enjoyed Fallen character. She had this huge weight on her shoulders and the time she spent with Thomas really seemed to help her relax.

Thomas was so perfect. He was an alpha male trying to survive and fell in love with Fallen. I loved how hard he worked to be there with her and still took his duty seriously.

The plot was so different that I wasn't able to wonder what was going to happen. The flow was amazing and we become so invested in these characters that we can't put the story down, even the not so nice characters.

This story is more then just a love story. This is a story about a man that fought to make sure that we lived, fought for what he believed in, and fell before he got to live his life to an old age. This story will stay in my heart and will be reread often. So thank you Thomas F Mchugh for your life and sacrifice. You will live on in my mind and heart. (And a huge thank you to the author for sharing something so personal with us readers)

Overall this is one of my top books of 2016. My heart is full of all the feels because the author pulled no stops. This is one of those story's that will stay with you for years to come. Make you think of all the fallen soldiers and just make your heart full knowing that they sacrificed. This is a unique love story but deep down it is so much more then that. 5 Stars (because I can't give it 1million!) #2OCCJD

I am a big fan of Debra Anastasia's work and this book was completely different to anything else she has written before. It had such a unique plot line and is a story about fighting for your happy ever after.

Fallen is struggling to cope with raising her teenage brother on her own. Their alcoholic mother has once again left them to deal with the financial mess she has made. Fallen works hard to put food on the table and make sure her brother is taken care of, despite having to give up her own education dreams to do so.

Fallen works at a local hotel as a cleaner. Pretty repetitive and mundane work but it pays the bills. There is one room in the hotel that is never occupied but it is still required to cleaned daily. One afternoon after Fallen has finished cleaning room 514 she has an overwhelming urge to take a nap, so she does. She has the most amazing dream, so incredible it felt real to her. She meets the most handsome man she has ever met and feels a deep connection to him. All too soon the dream is over and she awakens.

His name is Thomas and Fallen is desperate to meet him again and find him in real life. He just has to be real. Fallen figures out that the only way to dream of him is on a Thursday and pretty soon her week revolves around that day and seeing Thomas again.

There is a lot of history associated with that room, she is not the only person to have been affected by the power of room 514. In fact, the owner of the hotel pretty much blames everything bad thing that has happened in his life on that hotel room. He is also showing a lot of unwanted interest and attention towards Fallen and it is making her feel very uncomfortable.

When her boss begins to show up in her weekly dreams with Thomas she feels like she is in some weird alternate universe. It becomes more obvious that Thomas is from another century and that there is no way they will ever meet in real life. However, there are several other people who give her reason to believe that maybe she can find him and bring him into her world. Time is running out though and if Fallen wants to find her happy ever after with Thomas she will need to take drastic action. She needs to believe in the power of love.

This was a fascinating story with many different characters. This was like nothing I have ever read before and I loved that it completely pulled me in, my mind was working in overdrive trying to figure out what was going to happen next. Brilliance from Debra!

ARC received for an honest review.

I have loved all the Debra Anastasia books I have read previously, but For All The Evers is something completely different to what we have had recently.

The premise of the story is a love story, but the execution is something quite unique. It is hard to describe the book without giving too much away, but let's just say there may be something a little supernatural about Fallen and Thomas' story.

The story is a little bit like the first line of Bohemian Rhapsody... is this real life, or is this just fantasy? Now, I am not a big SPN/Paranormal reader, but this didn't even come to mind when I was reading. All I wanted was for Fallen and Thomas to get their HEA after all the obstacles that were in their way.

I adore the cover of this book, and as you read the Author's notes about this book, the cover became all the more special.

This is a different, adorable, sweet romance, a love story across the times. Thank you Ms Anastasia for sharing your Uncle Thomas with us.

2.5-3 stars. This could be a case of "it's not you, it's me," as I see lot's of 4.5 and 5 stars for this one.

What I liked: I appreciate that this is an ode to a deceased war veteran relative. One who was so beloved that everyone knew his stories. I like that and the factual similarities between the real Thomas and the fictional Thomas. What a great way to honor him.

What I didn't like: I never connected with any of the characters. They seemed kind of one dimensional to me and I never felt like we got to know them/what made them tick. What we did learn about them seemed too little/too late, I was already done wanting to know. The writing never touched on what the characters were feeling (except during sex), more of what was happening to the characters. I know it would have been hard to get to know Thomas because of the constraints of "the room" but I felt like we ended up knowing more about him than Fallen herself and we had plenty of time to get to know Fallen. There was a serious case of insta-love. I don't mind insta-love, but they hardly knew anything about each other and they're taking off their clothes? Again, maybe that was "the room's" doing. The writing seemed lackluster and a little unpolished. This was my first read by this author and I was just expecting a lot more. There was one phrase "my boss's boss's boss" that was used repeatedly that just annoyed me. Can't we just say boss, as he was the ultimate boss by being the owner of the hotel?

The suspense factor of not knowing what was going on and why was the only thing that kept me reading. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Through heart-filled imagination, Debra Anastasia made the impossible happen in For All the Evers!

Everything seems to be stacked against Fallen Billow. She’s had to give up college and grow up quickly. It’s up to her to raise her younger brother to be a fine young man. Fallen accepts a job as a housekeeper in a hotel. Little does she know what’s ahead as one room in this hotel seems to have extraordinary powers. She holds a unique bond with the man of her dreams in this very room. Fallen has made it her mission to overcome all obstacles to be with him forever.

Oh my goodness, what a unique and special story Debra Anastasia has created! She takes you through a roller-coaster of emotions. Ultimately, For All the Evers is both heart-breaking and hopeful. There’s no doubt that the true background of this story was the inspiration for this book. The real Thomas McHugh died a brave war hero long ago, but Ms. Anastasia gave her great uncle a love story that’s both timeless and truly endearing. Thank you, Debra, for sharing your family’s story with the world! Have tissues ready!

I know I'm a hopeless romantic but Debra Anastasia, you make me swoon. The story behind this novel is an endearing one and knowing the love and effort put into this book makes it that much more...Everything. But don't just take my word for it.

For All the Evers is a beautiful and heartbreaking story. A lost and world weary girl experiences something overwhelming and amazing. But she doesn't know why or how. She doesn't know if it's real or not. She only knows how special it is. With clues and outside help she begins to piece together the mystery of her love.

I have no trouble admitting the prologue had me choking up on the first page and the tears flowing by the time I flipped the page. I had tears running down my face repeatedly.

The feels...wow.
Heartache
Longing
Despair
Love

You will feel them all. But even stronger is the HOPE. I can't even begin to tell you how intensely I loved this book. So take pity on my previously broken heart and share the wonder that this story brings.

***NEW RELEASE - FULL REVIEW***

4.5 JUST STAY CROWNS

Debra Anastasia has delivered a unique and powerful story of love, depicting that it can overcome anything, even time. This story has mystery, elements of supernatural, romance, and suspense.

The characters Fallen and Tom are really enjoyable people. Both of them are rare and sacrificing for the people they love. Fallen sacrifices everything for her brother, often puttig herself in unsavory positions to make sure he is taken care of and has not only what he needs but also what he wants. Throughout the book, Tom is the one selfish thing she allows herself. His affect on her brings her safety and hope for her days. The hero, Tom, is honorable and takes pride not only in his time as a soldier but also in taking care of Fallen. His devotion and adoration of her and desire to protect her is the stuff of pure romance hero dreams. Seriously, every girl grows up wishing for someone to love you, to look at you, and to revere you in the way that Tom does to Fallen. What is most enjoyable about them is the emotional connection shines through. There are lots of steamy scenes, and they are good, but that isn't what has lasted after finishing the book. What sticks with the reader is the emotional connection between the two. Debra Anastasia wrote their relationship in a way that readers can feel their desires, their wants, their losses, their passion. Their devotion to each other is much stronger than other aspect of their relationship, and this is what is most notable about them as a couple.

The plot of this story is really what kept me turning the pages. It isn't always clear whether or not an HEA is in their future, as their obstacle is much larger than a simple misunderstanding or hurt feelings. On top of being from different time periods, Debra Anastasia adds in another suitor who is willing to do anything to steal her away from Tom. This secondary conflict only heightens the suspense of the story, while adding to the mystery of room 514. Readers will spend most of this book reveling in the wonderful relationship of Tom and Fallen, sitting on the edge of their seat with each attempt to sabotage the couple, and pondering how this whole story is going to be resolved. Ms. Anastasia has truly crafted and engaging and heartfelt romance that will keep readers turning the pages, playing with their emotional heartstrings until the very last page.

For All the Evers is a surprise read for me. I generally do not like to read super-natural type romances, but I really enjoyed the last book I read by her, Booty Camp, so I wanted to try it. I am so glad that I did! This book is so much more than two different people from different time periods falling in love, as it falls into the background. It showcases the power of love, the consuming nature of love, and the selflessness of love. For All the Evers is the epitome of true romance, and a book every romance lover should be one-clicking.

I saw this book and knew I had to read it. The idea of love across time is such a delicious one that I tend to snap up books with any variation on that theme. Though I've know Debra for her romantic comedy, and may have shed tears laughing at both her books and her Facebook posts, this novel gives us a different look at her writing chops and the stories that fascinate her.
This story is a bit contemporary, a bit magical realism, and a lot love--the sort that romance writers always seek to capture at the point where ink meets page or finger hits key. Debra manages to write that love by melding past and present in a coherent tapestry of loss, duty, and perseverance.
I also enjoyed the fact that the novel is based on Thomas McHugh, a man who lived and died serving our country. It's a beautiful testament to his memory, and the photos and information Debra includes rounds out his character. She also has a website with more information on him, and I can admit I may have stared at the photos a smidge too long.
In all, this is a wonderful read by a talented author, and I whole-heartedly recommend it. Five stars.

If I had one word to describe this story it would have to be Enthralling!!

Fallen and Thomas's story had kept me tangled and twisted until the very end! It was a story that had you traveling from one time to another! Fallen was fighting up until the very end for the love of her life, Thomas. Nothing, and I mean nothing ,was going to keep her from finding her dream lover! Not her mother, brother, and especially not her evil boss, Mr. Orbit! I felt that she was willing to take on anyone if it meant being with her soulmate! He couldn't be just a dream! Thomas's touch felt real, his kisses were real, the love she felt for him was real! He became her reason to carry on! So why was she alone?

This book was very well written! Part mystery, part romance, with a touch of paranormal! It was MUCH more than your average love story! I enjoyed it and recommend it!

If I could give the book more than 5 stars I would. What an amazing story, not only because of the plotline but everything that is behind, how Debra Anastasia became into writing it in the first place. I know how much it means to her and her family, but putting that aside this book is so different, so emotional, I couldn’t stop reading it. The heartbreaking story that goes with every word typed is perfect. Books move my emotions a lot of times, but this one got into my soul. I might need to read it again in a few months just because it is worth it. Thomas F McHugh will forever be remembered and thanks to this story not only his but a lot of people that have sacrifice for not only his country but for the world will live forever.

Don't read any spoilers! This book has to be experienced from start to finish because it's totally worth it!!!!!

Debra Anastasia is a 1-click author for me, so when I was given the chance to read an advanced copy of this story I jumped on it right away!
I've been following the teasers, and her comments and posts about the story, so I had a pretty well-formed idea of what I was walking in to. Turned out I was only partially right.

I can't tell you what happens, or how it happens, but know that it's absolutely worth the journey. I laughed and cried, felt frantic with the pressure of time running out, and loved both Fallen and Thomas.

Please read this book. The memory of Thomas McHugh and the writing of Debra Anastasia are 100% worth it.

I love time travel romances and the premise of this one was just too good to pass up. Even though I found the plot quite fascinating and it kept me glued to the pages I wasn't wholly invested in the story because I didn't fully connect with the characters, I also felt like there was telling rather than showing going on especially in the last chapter and also I didn't fully believe the explanation. That said it was an enjoyable read and I look forward to reading more work from this author.

I truly had no idea what to expect from this read and all I can say is the author left me speechless. In fact, if I were you, I wouldn’t read the synopsis. Trust me, she’ll take you on a mystical journey like no other you’ve been on. Her extraordinary ability to pull the reader in from the first page and make you want to turn the next and the next and the next remains unparalleled. The plot is a fascinating one. Her characters I loved to hate and others made me come undone. Yes, man-sized hankies are a must here since this story of forever and ever love touches one’s very soul. She kept me on edge throughout so much so that I needed to take a break and even then, I couldn’t stop thinking about the two protagonists’ dilemma. And ooh boy, what a DILEMMA! You ma’am, made me lose sleep over these lovebirds!

For All the Evers couldn’t have a more apt title. For me, it conjured up a story that has no ending. Ah. . . does it have one though? You’ll have to wait and see because while you’re reading, it's not only Fallen and Thomas’ surroundings that come alive. I can assure you that this reader never could have envisaged such beautiful scenes in every sense of the word. Their story; their lifetime and lifeline, made me smile, cry and pray hopelessly all at the same time. I was given no option but to root for two of the most awe-inspiring characters who at the author’s hand, made me feel like I was alongside them. And I can’t thank her enough for giving me this pleasure.

“Don’t cry, my pretty Fallen. This. What we just did here? It will be the light in my darkest goddamn hour. Memories of time with you are my sanity.”

Fallen. Gosh. . . how on earth can I begin to tell you how I felt about her. Firstly, her nature is selflessly caring and the humblest of all heroines I have yet to meet. She takes no credit; she survives by doing her best. She is too young to take on so much responsibility; however, she gets on with the job making sure her brother needs for nothing under such dire circumstances. Her love for him is unquestionable. When the going gets tough, it’s hands down regardless of one family member’s interference. An interference which is sadly something which exists and difficult to deal with for those of us that have had to live with it.

“How dare you? How dare you come in here and ask me what my paycheck is? Do we have to starve? Do we have to have nothing to make you happy?”

Thursdays. “So why or what is the problem with this day of the week,” you may ask! Simply answered. This book awakens where you'd least imagine it to. Or just maybe it falls into a dream beyond anyone’s comprehension. Perfect narration had me itching for it to be Thursday again! And as much as I’d like to tell you more, I can’t possibly let on. What I can say is three completely different personas slam together with an almighty clash on these days to such an extent that I was either showing support for two of them, or wishing the other would do a disappearing act. I’d have gladly given the latter a good Kindle-head-bashing! Grrr. . What a conniving so-and-so he is. There were times when a didn’t know how Fallen was going to tackle this man without coming out unscathed.

“I could make your life much easier.”
“I’m not sure that’s how things work. . .”

Thomas. Not allowed to swear here since you know who won’t publish my review; ooh, but for the love of him, he had me from the first time I set eyes on this chivalrously gorgeous man. Yes, it’s a very visual read so excuse me while I swoon! When I met Thomas, I was a tad confused. Fortunately, I wasn’t left puzzled for too long. He goes out of his way to do the impossible and I have to confess that there were moments when I thought he wouldn’t be able to be where he wanted.

“Stay with me.”
“Dream girl, make it until next Thursday. Please.”

Any good story has to have a bad guy and if there are a couple of bad gals to spice things up, all the better. I loved the how Fallen named two of her backstabbing co-workers; nevertheless, Fallen does make a trustworthy friend in her workplace and takes all the advice she can get from her. I adored Desta. This wise and wonderful woman doesn’t make it easy for Fallen to begin with but at the end of the day, she is there for her. The baddie. . . read the book and make your own minds up!

“You have to keep this between us. I’m never supposed to talk about it, but there’s a spark in you, lady. I feel you can handle the truth of it all. Well, the truth of what I know.”

I can honestly say that while writing this review, I cried. I could have made it longer; there is so much more to say and I feel that my written words don’t give enough praise to the author who has written such an amazing story. Lady, you have brought Thomas home. The ending. . . BRAVO!

“Thank you,” “For stealing me from time. I want to spend all the evers I get right here. . .”

I want to get this out of the way first. Reading this book is the perfect example of why you should never just read one book by an author. I will admit that I read another book by this author and could not finish it. It pains me to say that because if you know me, I will do everything I can to power though a book. I don’t like leaving things unfinished. Yet, I had to with that book. When the blurb for For All The Evers came out, I knew I needed to read it. It was completely the opposite of what I’ve read from the author and I needed to give it a chance and I’m so happy that I did. I would have been mad at myself if I missed this opportunity.

For All The Evers is first an foremost a book that honors a war veteran where the author’s hope is to share his experience (albeit somewhat fictitiously) and to bring more awareness for those who have served our country. The personal touches in the story brings such a powerful message about honor, love and support and almost everyone can relate to something. I appreciate the author honoring her uncle, Sergeant Thomas F. McHugh.

Fallen Billow has had a rough childhood. With an alcoholic mother, she was forced at a young age to act as the mother to her younger brother. Now 21, she is working a new job at a hotel doing housekeeping. A job that is supposed to be just a way to make ends meet somehow becomes the lifeline that Fallen didn’t know she needed. Who would have thought she could have found true love?

Thomas McHugh is in the Philippines fighting for his country during WWII. It isn’t pretty, as we all know and the only solace and happiness he gets his when he meets him “dream girl” when he is sleeping. But when those dreams seem more real than ever, he had to wonder what is going on and how he can get to the love of his life.

I will admit that in the beginning of the book (after the prologue), I wasn’t really sure where this was going and it took me a little to move forward. Even though I know books are fictional sometimes, it takes me a minute to get back if something could really happen or not. I only say this in case anyone else feels that way at first. All I can tell you is to keep going. You won’t regret it.

The struggle that Thomas and Fallen went through, to fight just to make sure they got to see each other was hard. I was pulling from them from the start. They have this instant connection that is so powerful and raw that you are just begging for a happy ending. Both characters were well developed and brought a lot to each other. They were both in very hard times in their lives in very different time periods but together they learned the other person was the one to help ease their pain and suffering.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. If you are looking for a unique story about unbelievable love and the powers to overcome all obstacles, then this is the book for you. If you get anything out of this, just join Debra Anastasia in celebrating and honoring those who have or are currently fighting for our country. Well done.

**I received an ebook copy in exchange for an honest review**

I’ve never read a book quite like this one before.

Fallen spends her days working in order to take care of her younger brother, after having essentially been abandoned by their alcoholic mother. Their mom still makes the occasional appearance in their lives, but it’s only when she needs something. Eventually Fallen lands a job working in a hotel, where she’s assigned to take care of the fifth floor. Room 514 is never frequented by guests, but she still has to make sure that it stays clean. And soon she finds out that 514 has a little bit of magic behind it, as anyone who sleeps in the room encounters his/her soulmate in dreams.

Thomas F McHugh is a soldier fighting to keep America free during WWII. When Fallen begins showing up in his world, it’s hard for Thomas not to fall in love with her. Soon Fallen is completely obsessed with the dream world she experiences thanks to room 514.

This book wove itself right into my heart and will forever remain there. First off, Thomas is Debra’s great uncle, and this book was her tribute to him, a way to offer some sort of happiness that he never got to experience because he was killed in combat in 1945. That’s such an incredible concept, to pen a story for someone who is no longer here, offering them an ending that might be different than the one they’ve already had. I’ve never had the chance to read something like that before, and the plot that Debra created here was so unique and different.

Though this is a romance novel, and absolutely contains all kinds of sweet, heartfelt moments, For All the Evers also has it’s share of heartache too. I found myself wishing that I could hop into the book and bring Thomas out of Fallen’s dreams and into her world.

Fallen is an admirable character. She’s put her whole life on hold to make sure that her brother is taken care of. She deals with unwanted advances from her boss on a regular basis. The one thing she has to look forward to is the dreams that room 514 ignites for her.

I’m not typically a big fan of instal-love, but the way Debra did it with For All the Evers made it extremely enjoyable for me. I think it’s because the insta-love takes place in the dream world created in room 514. I also loved that there was the twist of the paranormal elements in this story. I wasn’t expecting that when I picked the book up, but I fell in love with what Debra created relatively quickly. And the paranormal elements were so well written, placed perfectly and made the plot all that more unique and wonderful.

I can’t share many more details about this book, because I fear I’ll end up spoiling it for those who haven’t had the chance to read it. What I can say is that this is by far my favorite piece of Debra’s work. I love her comedy, but I love the serious writing she does more, and she really nailed it with For All the Evers.

Five stars to this novel!

***5 ‘You’re my impossible’ Stars***

That synopsis haunted me for days before I finally gave in and requested the book. I waffled because I didn’t know if I wanted to dive into a book I was more that certain would have me all kinds of teary and sniffly (One does have to be ready for emotionally charged books) and yet there was this need to find out just how the author would pull off the story and she pulled it off beautifully. Are there still lingering questions about certain aspects? Yes, and believe me when I say I have a list of questions running through my head, but the story of Fallen and Thomas washes it all way because of how it got under my skin and wormed it’s way into my heart.

It was hard not to fall in love with Fallen and Thomas’s journey. Both are characters that you find you end up really liking even though you know more about what is going on with Fallen than Thomas, something that isn’t a bad thing. But when the two of them are together there is that “thing”, that unexplicable draw towards them that makes you want them to have an HEA even when it all seems impossible. Both, in their respective realities, are in situations that are heartbreaking and unfair, but when they are together you get to see two people be who they were always meant to be and they simply work.

This isn’t my normal modus operandi when it comes to reviews, but I feel that this is a book one needs to go into, not only blind, but with an open heart and mind. It’s a journey and one that should be experienced in your own little bubble. As it is, you already have assumptions after reading the synopsis, and you should, but don’t let them cloud your vision, or enjoyment. As I said in the beginning, I still have questions about quite a few things, and normally the logical side of my brain would knock off a star for them, but the FEELS I got from this story ~ the good, the bad, and the ugly ~ override the logical. I became emotionally invested in Fallen and Thomas and that pretty much is all that matters in the end.

This is my first book by Ms. Anastasia and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The writing was engaging and even though I would have preferred to spend more time with Fallen and Thomas and less with a certain other character, I liked how the other threads were woven into the story. Also, the catalyst for this story is a wonderful one and a beautiful way to pay homage to a loved one.

I loved Debra Anastasia's Poughkeepsie. I thought it was unique and well written. So I had high hopes that this book would be no different.
Whilst I found the storyline to be incredibly unique, to the point that I had to know how things concluded, that I'm afraid is where it ended for me.
It was the main character, Fallen Billow, where I started to have my doubts about this book. Her personality appeared too naive, obsessive to the point of annoyance and generally just weak, especially when it came to the character, Lad Orbit.
Lad was an awfully brilliant creation, but the way Fallen handled him was just not believable enough for my liking. For me, she had so much at stake, but to let him get away with the things he was doing, and that there were so many other options open to her which should have been obvious to her, just irritated me and didn't make me fall in love with her character at all. She also handled her alcoholic mother with the same lack of courage. There just seemed to be very little fight in her and for someone who has had a pretty tough life, when all is said and done, I expected someone with a tonne of fight in her.
The story itself read very much like a list for a large portion of the book. This paragraph, I think, explains what I mean:- ***Fallen excused herself and left soon after. Fenn’s ride was just pulling up as she stuck her key in the door at home. He looked exhausted. They had cereal for dinner and watched their favourite competition show before going to bed*** I found that this particular style of writing showed very little feeling in not only the story's execution, but also with the characters, who gave me very little emotion and for a book that was based around Thomas McHugh, a soldier fighting for his country. This book should have had me weeping buckets, or at least having me feel something towards it, but sadly I was too detached from most of the characters and certain events that happened throughout. It also didn't hold my interest for any lengthy periods of time and took me far too long to read by my usual timing standards.
I felt that towards the end things felt rushed and at times a little erratic in its delivery, however the ultimate ending itself finally caught my interest and it turns out that it was Thomas McHugh who turned out to be my favourite character of the entire book and now knowing how much this character meant to the author, it is clear to see why he stood out so much for me.

Starting with this, this book is on my top 5 list. I had a list of top 5 it changed after this. It is tied for top book.

This is not the first book I have read by this author, so I thought I was well prepared going in. I wasn’t. I did not want to read spoilers or anything to give any indications as to what may happen or what was going on. This was an amazing and gripping journey for Fallen and Thomas. Not at all what I was expecting.

This is a passionate, emotional, heartwarming and heartbreaking journey. I loved Fallen and Thomas. I was right there with them through this journey, and it became my journey. I was gripped and sucked in from the moment I started, and couldn’t stop tapping page after digital page. I was sad when it was over. I felt like I was there, living it, feeling it. The picture was painted perfectly for my by the author.

Fallen is a housekeeper at a hotel, working and raising her teenage brother. She is mom, sister and friend. She was told not to fall asleep in that room. She was confused as to why they know her. Fallen and Thomas don’t live in the same period. Thomas is off fighting a war for the country. It’s a story transcends time. Their dreams connect them. You will find yourself rooting for them. I know I was, for every second they fought to be.

This is one of the hardest books for me to review as to not give anything away. If I keep writing this I will. My emotions ran the gambit, laughing crying (yes bring your tissues and have them ready). I just simply can’t find anything wrong with this book. The writing was great and the flow was good. It’s a must read. This was such a powerful read. I also thought it fitting to post this review today on a Thursday. You will see why when you read the book. Happy reading to all of you. Remember, like I said, bring Kleenex, and get ready to fall in love with this book and the people. OK maybe not all of them. I know this review isn’t as long as some of my others, but there is a reason, as I stated before, I can’t say anything else because it will give away everything. Loved this book huge.
