For Fox News Sunday, the only thing more interesting than Donald Trump is the late Saddam Hussein.
This week’s episode of the Sunday morning talker, which featured an exclusive sit-down with the president-elect, neared a series high with 2.3 million viewers. It ranks as the second-most-watched telecast in the 20-year history, falling shy of the 2003 episode that covered the capture of Saddam Hussein.
And that tally was just one telecast. Combining the broadcast haul and cable repeats, the episode reached almost 6 million million total viewers.
In the key news demographic of adults 25-54, Fox News Sunday was at a best since 2008 with 728,000 viewers. Compared with the same time in 2015, that marked a 53 percent spike.
The interview was not enough to push Fox News Sunday ahead of the other Sunday shows. NBC’s Meet The Press still dominated in the key demo with more than 1 million viewers, and the first half-hour of CBS’ Face the Nation brought in 4 million viewers.
