Dr. M.L.Saraf: Social work and contribution to society for betterment

Dr. M.L.Saraf has undertaken the responsibility to take care and contribute as much as possible to those people who are underprivileged, poor and handicapped. He has organised many Polio camps throughout Akola, Shegaon and other interiors of Maharashtra, Jaipur and Fatehpur.

For this, he was invited as the chief guest at Akola, Nagpur and Khamgaon for Agrahoa Samaj function.

Apart from that, there are several social projects that he did to uphold the cause and proper orthopaedic treatment.

Education for children

Dr. Saraf believes that the world can only be made better when people will have awareness. To spread the awareness against all ailments, they need to have a proper education. It will also make the future of our country more prosperous. Due to his ideology, he is a core member of Hindi Vidhya Bhawan, Bombay and IIT School of Management, Powai.

To spread awareness about something so crucial like orthopaedic, he made it a point to organise several workshops so that people can come and have a better understanding of what the subject is and issues related to it.

He has also organised the first interdisciplinary conference on all systems of medicine like Homeopathy; Ayurveda and Allopathy under the University of Health Sciences Maharashtra in 2002.

Research

He did not limit himself with workshops. Rather, to support his theories and move towards more advanced treatment, he has spent his years on researching about important issues and solving the problem faced by both doctors and patients in the field of orthopaedic. It was awarded the A. K. Talwalkar prize.

In 1980, it was judged as the best paper at the WIROC.
