⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Love in Lingerie (stand-alone). Sexual-tension galore as Kate is hired to save a lingerie company & is stripped bare by her boss, Trey!

“If this woman was lingerie, I’d strip it off and then properly show her who is in charge.”

Love in Lingerie (stand-alone) opens up to lingerie executive Kate Martin interviewing for the position of creative director with Marks Lingerie’s owner Trey Marks. It represents her dream job and entails an overhaul to save his struggling empire.

They throw themselves into work settling on a friendship and opting for a lingerie line inspired by built-up sexual frustration and a love that could never be. Centerstage is sex-on-a-stick Trey set on keeping personal and business separate while undressing you with his bedroom eyes.

“If our relationship was lingerie, it’d be fur-lined handcuffs, latched around you, the key lost, escape impossible.”

I love the complexity of Trey Marks’s flirty hot-cold demeanor. While he slowly – in his mind mostly - undresses Kate the story will peel the layers of the enigma that is Trey. Seven words to describe Trey: aloof, charming, complex, enigmatic, secretive, in-control and kinky.

Kate Martin is in over her head with Trey. Seven words to describe Kate: goal-oriented, reflective, naïve, attentive, meek, prudish and impressionable.

Love in Lingerie, told from dual POVs, is a mixture of friends-to-lovers and forbidden romance. It is slow-brewing, at times angst-filled, journey of mixed messages, secrets, heart-break, mistakes and could-have-beens, but also of friendship, loyalty and an undeniable love. It ends perfectly with an epilogue in the future.

Effortless story-telling! Panty-melting hero! Sexual tension overload! Secrets, fears and the liberating aspects of love!

“If our love was lingerie, it’d be leather, thin strips of binding that could withstand a hundred years of war and peace, fights and love-making. It would yield and give, yet never rip or break. It would be built to last, to wear forever.”

Alessandra Torre I BOW DOWN TO YOU!!! I cannot even begin to tell you how FUCKING AMAZING Love In Lingerie is. I mean I'll try but hot damn, NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING, I say will do this book justice.

I'm that lost for words, I don't know what to discuss first. I sit here now, my heart in my throat, my blood pumping insanely hard with massive stars in my eyes. Alessandra Torre took me to a DIFFERENT WORLD with this book. I never imagined that Love In Lingerie would be THIS. I mean don't get me wrong I expected heat, rawness and intensity but what I didn't expect was the EPIC FEELS that just surged out of me while reading, burnt through me while reading, tugged at the DEPTHS OF MY SOUL while reading.
EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING was right. So utterly perfect. So CONSUMING.

Love in Lingerie is fire and ice, a deep, delectable push and pull through give and take, lust and love, dominance and submission, and not even in the way you'd think.

Alessandra's portrayal of ‘him’ and ‘her’ was written so fluidly, so flawlessly, so exciting. As individuals they were classy, captivating characters that you cannot help but fall for, from her strong, sexy persona to his deliciously, dirty, masculine rawness, I fell hard and fast.
Though together, together was when the magic happened. Together they oozed connection, one that you felt deep in your bones. Together they had a chemistry so fierce. Together they crackled like a burning flame, so hot and so bright. Together they BLEW ME AWAY.

As a lover of the ‘friends to lovers’ trope, Love In Lingerie was like a drug. An inescapable high that I wanted, needed, craved and drowned in. There are NO WORDS to fully describe how perfectly this trope was done. Alessandra NAILED it. I felt it, I lived it, I LOVED IT! The relationship, the dynamic, the intensity, the worry, the heartbreak, the good, the bad and the ugly, all done to perfection.

I honestly think I could sit here all day and tell you how utterly amazing Love In Lingerie was, IS. But I also urge you to dive into this book, putting everything else aside and just going along for the ride. Because you WILL lose yourself, you WILL fall in love, you will NEVER want it to end, you WILL want to devour it and go slow all at the same time. But most of all, past everything else you WILL feel nothing but PURE BOOKWORM BLISS when you have finished.

Alessandra Torre has a way of telling stories that suck me in and make me fall in love, even as my brain is telling me that I shouldn't. She is the queen of writing forbidden love stories that leave you feeling conflicted and questioning your sense of right and wrong. She doesn't seem to focus as much on huge, "in your face" subjects. Rather, she skirts the edges of what is generally considered socially acceptable behavior.

Whatever her magic formula is, it is working! She never fails to captivate me. Like every other book of hers that I've read, 'Love in Lingerie' grabbed me and held on tight right to the very end. I was completely absorbed with the antics of Kate and Trey.

Kate and Trey meet when Kate is hired to turn Trey's lingerie company around. Looking to leave a company where she had no possibility of advancement, Kate is ecstatic to be working for Trey's company. The company is failing and Trey is at risk of losing everything that he's worked so hard for.

Despite the fact that he is immediately attracted to Kate, Trey cannot risk losing her as an employee. He's been down that road before and it ended disastrously. Regardless of the intense desire he feels, he knows that he has to focus on saving his company. He cannot risk chasing Kate away with his kinky tastes.

'Love in Lingerie' was a unique love story in many ways. Most notably, the main characters were not "together" for most of the book. In fact, they didn't really explore a romantic relationship until about 75% of the way in.

In the meantime, there was plenty of sexual tension and heated exchanges. This was definitely a slow-burn story. By the time that Kate and Trey finally took the next step, I felt like I was going to combust myself! However, Ms. Torre proved to make it well worth the wait.

If you're looking for a sweet, sexy and humorous read, then I highly recommend 'Love in Lingerie'. I was completely sucked in by these two. Their back and forth, sexually charged interactions were absolutely addicting. I enjoyed every minute of this story!

Love in Lingerie is a forbidden love story/a friends to lovers romance at it’s finest. If you’re like me and love a drawn out romance- Alessandra creates the most delicious slow burn and sexual tension between Trey and Kate. This book enamored me from the start. It has the perfect amount of angst and the plot has just a touch of mystery in it. I just loved everything about it.

Trey Marks first meets Kate Martin when she is applying to be the creative director of his business. He desperately needs the help, and even though he is immensely attracted to her, he won’t go there. He has rules and not messing around with someone he works with is one of them. At first these two butt heads, but soon enough they become friends. Trey and Kate work together and spend free time together, too. Their friendship becomes closer and their is always that attraction lingering right below the surface. It’s apparent both want more with the other, but things are holding them back. What about their friendship? The company? Trey’s secrets? It had me wondering if these two would ever make their way to one another…
If our relationship was lingerie, it’d be fur-lined handcuffs, latched around you, the key lost, escape impossible.

Trey is one of those character who was a bit complicated, but my god. He loved Kate something fierce. There is nothing I love more in a book then when I can truly feel the love rolling off my hero. I could feel how much he loved her with every thought he had. I can’t imagine how difficult it was for him to stay away from her, but Trey always wanted to do what was best for Kate.
Sometimes, I love her so much it hurts.

He wanted to protect her heart and her feelings. Kate felt that attraction for Trey from their first meeting, but the more she truly got to know him, it became so much more. With becoming such close friends, she go to see his heart.

Alessandra’s writing always blows me away. I love how descriptive it is, how her characters are always complex and her story lines are always intricate. Love In Lingerie really hit the spot for me.

➳Lingerie has never sounded and been sexier than what this incredible story by Alessandra Torre has written…

➳Alessandra has surprised my expectations when it comes down to the act of seduction and idea of pleasure having its own time. She has this magnificent way to show her readers a new idea that at first does not sound appealing, but leads to a better understand to a new life style. This story starts off with Kate being interviewed for a new job position for Trey’s company that designs and produces lingerie of all types. It’s an odd job but that being said, it makes it rather unique because you do not read a lot about a man owning a lingerie company and making his fortunes from it. Unless of course you are the owner of Victoria’s Secrets.

➳The story starts to slowly become confusing at first due to my questioning as to how the two main characters will move past the obstacles that are present in their lives. Though they start off as co-workers, they slowly throughout time learnt o become best friends. Going over each other’s place without invites, knowing what each other likes… stuff that only best friends, and in some scenarios, couples would do. Even though one of their biggest obstacles in the beginning of the story has something to do with Kate and her former FIANCE, they both somehow learn that their attraction for each other is not just only in the physical sense, but also in the emotional environment.

➳Alessandra continues the story by providing an emotional attachment from the character to the reader. Throughout the story, when you have Kate and trey fighting their chemistry and avoiding it instead of confronting it, the vibes of sympathy is there. Whenever Kate speaks about Craig, her former-fiance, there is a sense of loneliness that drags the reader to a comfort towards Kate’s feelings.

➳Slowly things being to deteriorate in the friendship status between Kate and Trey. They both begin to learn that its better to be together and move along from their pasts and continue a future together, even with the surprising turn of events coming from Trey and his “fetishes.” The tension though…. **inhales**

➳IT.
➳IS.
➳BEYOND.
➳THICK.

➳Honestly, the last time I read a story where the tension rises all the way to the highest level of the empire state building, was YEARS ago. It is so refreshing knowing that even though through books, there is a presence of knowing what you want and knowing how to control your feelings for it. Even if its during times of agony, because this book is the finest definition of absolute agony, filed with an abundance of tension surrounding the main characters. It was beyond incredible to read and enjoy the slow process of accepting the way Trey was and how he came to be once he established himself with the woman of his dreams.

➳Heroine rating: 4.0
➳Sexual tension rating: 4.0

➳Sex scenes frequency: 3.0
➳Plot rating: 4.5

“He should have told me this. He should have told me this years ago, before I fell in love with him, before he injected his soul into my veins and I became addicted.”

This is not your usual office romance! True to Alessandra Torre's brilliant storytelling abilities, this sexy forbidden romance has emotional depth, angsty surprises, and a wonderful balance between humor, hotness, and emotions. I read this book cover-to-cover in one sitting and loved it!!

So I'm going to be really honest with you. I'm not a very trusting reader. As a general rule, I don't like going into books blind, and I have a list of questions I ask about nearly every single book before I read them. However, every rule does have exceptions and sometimes I'll take a leap without knowing anything, but it's rare. Alessandra Torre however is one of the few authors whose books I've consistently loved and I have that trust now to just dive in without really knowing anything about them. In this case, I actually didn't even read the blurb (shocking, I know!) and literally just opened the book and started reading. However, I'll share the blurb here if you're curious...

I hired her to fix my company, to bring Marks Lingerie back to life. I didn’t expect her to become my friend. I didn’t expect to fall in love with her.

The first rule of business is to never touch your employees. I think there is another rule about not falling for your best friend—a rule against imagining the curves of her body, or the way her breathing would change if I pulled down her panties and unzipped my pants.

Now, I can’t wait any longer. I’m tossing out the rules.

Damn the company.
Damn our friendship.
Damn my fears.

In a nutshell, the heroine is hired by the CEO of a failing company to help revive it. Lingerie is their specialty and even though he's not used to people telling him what to do, she is admittedly ruthlessly gifted at her job and he soon realizes that his company can't afford to lose her. She expected to just have exciting new job, but what she didn't count on was the chemistry between her and her gorgeous new boss or how hard it would be to stick to his rules...

“I’m not the easiest person to work for.” He leans forward, his forearms resting on the desk, and runs the fingers of one hand over the knuckles of his other. “I’m temperamental, and terrible with instructions, and I can be a real asshole.” A hint of a smile appears, then he sobers. “But despite what you may have heard about me, there are certain lines I don’t cross, and fucking my employees is one of them.”

As I mentioned above though, this is not your average office romance. I was so pleasantly surprised that this story kind of went in a completely different direction than I was initially expecting spanning years rather than weeks or months and drawing out the sexual tension to the point to the point where, by the time they actually got together, you just knew in your heart of hearts that they belonged with each other. This is not an insta-love/lust story. There was an undoubted connection between them -- a spark -- from the first time they'd met, but for so many reasons, they couldn't act on their feelings...

“STOP.” He holds up a hand. “You’re about to ruin all my future fantasies about you.”
“Ha.” I roll my eyes. “Little chance of that.” I frown at him. “Besides, you aren’t supposed to have fantasies about me, or anyone else at [work]. In case you missed the memo, the CEO is a real dick about fraternization.” I smirk at the thought of his last all-company email, one that spanned three pages, all devoted to ensuring that our hands are kept to ourselves, and our minds are clear of the gutter.
“You’re confusing the rules. I’m allowed to have fantasies; I’m just not allowed to act on them.”

And let me tell you, THE ANGST of them not being together when you knew they were perfect for each other was almost PAINFUL -- but in a really good, heart-pounding, so-good-it-hurts way. Heehee -- deliciously painful angst! The distance between them was necessary but the draw they felt was impossible to ignore...

“I’ve never wanted to kiss a woman so badly in my life. To bury my hands in her hair and dominate that mouth. My hands twitch on the leather back of the chair. I stop myself from moving forward and pulling her across that glass desk…”

Oh, and the hero has a secret -- one he's terrified will make him lose the one woman he wants more than anything, and is forbidden to have...

I could tell her how I feel and plead for her heart. I could come inside of her, and have her for the rest of my fucking life. I could scare her away and lose her forever.

I don't want to say what his secret is here but I'll just say that it's a bedroom kink that... um... I guess it's just one of those things that some people love, some people are okay with, and for others, it's a complete turnoff. I will say that it never actually enters *their* bedroom so if you get to that point and you're worried that this book might not be for you, don't be concerned. Personally, it's a kink that doesn't work for me, but that I fully respect other people enjoying. And I did really appreciate the message embedded in the story that it's always the better choice to just be open-minded, to respect what other people want, desire, and need, and to not judge them for it.

“Why should society judge me for it? I get it, though. I understand the stigma, the flinch of the mind when confronted with the idea.

Oh and also the second message which I really liked was more subtly delivered but definitely stuck with me. You'll see as you read the book that it really feels like things are just completely not working out for these guys. But the more you read, the more you realize how every single one of these events that stood between them, or sometimes even created more distance between them, ultimately served to bring them together far closer than if they'd just jumped into a relationship on day one. I actually feel that the reason why they found a way to be together was because of what they went through. Just makes you think how even when life isn't working out for you, not to give up... maybe you're just going in a direction you never intended because it's leading you to a destination better than you could have ever imagined.

There is a long beat where her eyes hold mine, a challenge flashing out, clouding the arousal. My dick is confused, and so is my head.

I open the door and escape into the hall, into my domain.

If this woman was lingerie, she’d be black leather, with studs along the seams and enough of a dominatrix vibe to give a man pause.

If this woman was lingerie, I’d strip it off and then properly show her who is in charge.

Anyways, I'm rambling a little so I'm going to wrap this up by just saying that I genuinely loved this book! It was an absolutely fantastic read. Alessandra Torre is one of the most talented authors I've read over the last few years. Her books have an incredible range from romantic to thrilling, comedic to emotional, and they're all unique, captivating, and fantastically well-written. They practically beg you to keep turning the pages until you reach the end of the ride and this book was no exception. A sexy, steamy, angsty, and addictive new favorite! Loved it!

Rating: 4.5 stars! Standalone Adult Contemporary Romance.

LOVE IN LINGERIE is a sexy and angst filled standalone about an office romance between the CEO of Mark’s Lingerie, Trey Marks, and his Creative Director, Kate Martin. There is definitely a slow but agonizing build till we get to the action between the main characters but there are several scenes where we get a little tease of what’s to come. I don’t know whether to commend the author or be angry with her for the torture I had to endure. I was dying for Trey and Kate to finally make a move on each other!!

Kate Martin has landed a new job as Creative Director with Mark’s Lingerie. Upon first meeting her new boss, Trey, she feels an instant attraction to him even though she’s currently engaged. Her fiancé is a really easy going and good partner but there isn’t any white hot chemistry between them. Trey also feels strongly attracted to Kate as well, but his strict rule against fraternization amongst employees and his past experience helps to keep his lustful impulses under control. Trey is one sexy as hell alpha male with a major kinky fetish that I think most people would have issues with, including the heroine, but I’m sure there are some of you who will only find it out of this world hot. I actually was not a big fan of his kink. For some reason, it bothered me a lot. Even though the H & h are not in a relationship with each other during most of the story, it really didn't sit well with me when they would get involved with other people and I found myself getting upset with Trey quite a bit.

 photo RELEASE TEASER 1_zps8y7uurkn.jpg

It was so frustrating that when Kate becomes available, they still don’t end up getting together and eventually waste time getting involved with other people who clearly weren’t right for them. I did love the ending and for once I loved the Heroine more than the Hero in a story. I understood Kate’s actions and empathized with her throughout the book.

If you love a good office romance and aren’t afraid of the kink, this might be a good one for you!

HOLY SHIT. THIS IS MY FIRST 5 STAR READ OF 2017!!!!! I am so smitten with this book. So taken by these characters. So over the moon with this novel that packed such a SOLID, OVERWHELMING punch! It was EVERYTHING! Everything I never expected and more. I actually went into this thinking it was RomCom! LOL! WTH! **shakes my head** No idea where I got that idea. It's not light, but it is definitely not dark either. It's a sinfully slow building-set your soul on fire-frustrate you-intoxicate you-turn you on-make you fall in love, romance that's beyond all things.

Really, this was SO MUCH MORE than I anticipated it would be. I'm sitting here right now like.... WHOAAAAAAA! WHOA! This book had feels! And you know how I feel about feels. I'm obsessed with finding reads that make me LOVE the characters hard and explosively. I like to hurt and cry and smile and laugh and just feel extra deep. And this, Love in Lingerie, had me CRYING and SMILING and SWOONING and DYING all over the damn place.

It's got some seriously angsty moments of goodness in the pages. A mix of delicious sexiness, with fiery heat that comes from the slow building friendship that makes this novel pop in the most perfect way. It's agonizing, the slow burn, and leaves you hanging by a thread.

I was DYING!!!!!!!!!

DYINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! <<---- I'm freaking serious. I was like... OMG. OMG. OMG. They're gonna kiss. OMG OMG OMG. They're gonna touch. Alessandra played with me **laughs manically** until I felt like I was about to catch on fire. I was hyper aware of these characters. I flipped the pages, eagerly devouring the words, desperate, watching with rapt attention as a relationship between Kate and Trey was built.

Well written, emotional, sweet, sinful, charming, not light yet not smother your soul heavy, this was an absolutely heart stopping romance that I never wanted to put down.

It's safe to say that Love in Lingerie cast it's spell on me. I FEEL CONSUMED by the sweetness of this novel and these characters! And honestly.... this story is one you won't stop thinking of. One that will have you running scenes through your head for days. One that will have you swoony and in love. It's a bit of a roller coaster. There are parts that will make you ache, parts that will have you a little ragey, but it's so well written, so well done and so well paced.

I'm still catching my breath, but this is DEFINITELY my very first FIVE STAR read of 2017!

HOO-FREAKING-RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
A must read, I tell you.
A. Must. FREAKING. Read. <<---- Okay.
YOU MUST READ THIS. <<---- DO IT.

PS: shouty caps were needed ALLLLLLLL over this review because I'm totally having a moment. Shit, I'm suffering from an LiL book buzz!!!!!!!!! <<---- BEST. THING. EVER. **kisses**

I adore Alessandra Torre’s versatile writing skills. She’s the author of two of my favorite dark series and then there’s the adorable stories she has put out like Hollywood Dirt and Love Chloe. She is truly an author that the old grocery list comment is meant for!

description

In this novel, she delivers a slow burn romance about coworkers that through the years hold off on acting on their sexual attraction. Our hero, Trey Marks has very specific sexual tastes and the thought of Kate ever knowing would ruin their friendship and perhaps any chance he would have with her in a relationship.

description

The story was sweet, while having a continuous current of sexual tension flowing through each page.

”If you want me to fuck you, Kate, just say the word. Don’t ever be confused over whether I want that. There’s not anything on Earth I want as badly as you. I’d love to know if the chemistry that we have…if it could be how I imagined it.”

description

Trey and Kate’s story comes together so very believable and it’s done with a good mix of humor, angst, and delayed gratification.

4 ‘Our Lingerie Love’ Stars!
ARC provided by the author via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
photo Love in Lingerie - Alessandra Torre_zpseplrnmu8.png

Alessandra always manages to surprise me! She is one of my favorite authors and with that comes always having several expectations on her new releases. Well, Love in Lingerie was definitely more than I expected! Continuing with her magnificent writing style, Alessandra Torre gives a new meaning to a slow burn romance.

Love in Lingerie is a standalone novel and let's just say it's so much more than a friends-to-lovers love story. This book presents Trey Marks, the owner of Marks Lingerie, and Kate Martin, his newest creative director. The sparks start flying since the beginning but many obstacles are in the way between these two. The first obstacle is Trey himself and his rule of "never touch an employee".

If this woman was lingerie, I’d strip it off and then properly show her who is in charge.

Holy hell, what a journey with this book! As always, Alessandra Torre does not fail with her sexy love stories, full of twists and secrets. Love in Lingerie was what I expected (in terms of sexiness) but not what I expected (in terms of the actual relationship between the main couple). Trey and Kate become friends, even though they want each other, and Alessandra managed to give us a love story that is full of steam, especially with the slow burn between Kate and Trey.

My company needs her.
I need her.
And, unfortunately, so does my cock.
And that right there, is how things fall apart.

My favorite thing about this book (besides the final chapters) was Kate herself. I love strong heroines, I love women who stand for what they believe in and do not mince their words. I have to say, to me a heroine like Kate was completely necessary because sometimes I struggled with Trey's behavior/decisions. Even though, I really enjoyed the story as a whole, I have to admit, those mixed messages, those other people always in the mix and Trey's "secret" did not sit very well with me.

“If you want me to fuck you, Kate, just say the word. Don’t ever be confused over whether I want that. There’s not anything on Earth I want as badly as you. I’d love to know if the chemistry that we have… if it could be how I imagine it.”

Now, leaving that aside, Love in Lingerie does not fail in terms of chemistry and sexiness, that I can assure you! Yeah, I found the slow burn amazing (even though sometimes I thought it was too much, I just wanted them to be together! lol) and when the sex finally happened between Trey and Kate.. absolutely fucking explosive! I loved when they finally admit their feelings and I loved the ending SO MUCH!

If our love was lingerie, it would never come off.

Therefore, my rating for Love in Lingerie is 4 STARS because I really enjoyed the ride that I got while reading this book! It was definitely different from what I expected but still with Alessandra Torre's outstanding writing and deep characters. If you are a fan of her novels, you totally have to check this one out!

"If our love was a lingerie, it'd be a corset, one laced so tightly that it takes your breath."

Love in Lingerie is Alessandra Torre's newest book. It was an enjoyable read, but I think it wasn't as good as her previous books.

The book started when Kate Martin applied for a Creative Director position at Marks Lingerie. Her job is to help save the sinking company and bring it back to life. The first time she met the owner of the company Trey Marks, she instantly felt the palpable sexual tension. But she knew that the last thing that should happen between them is to get romantically and sexually involved with each other. Trey thought the same, so they had the unspoken rule to just remain friends inside and outside the office. It's not an easy feat, though, because no matter how much they push each other away, the attraction gets stronger every day.

"In five minutes, I could make her mine. In ten minutes, she'd be calling me her god. In twenty, I could propose and she'd beg me for a lifetime more."

I can better describe this book as something that has both ups and downs. There were certainly some scenes that were enjoyable and swoony, but there were also parts that I found a little confusing because of the odd narrative style that Alessandra Torre used.

Another thing, I found the romantic development between Trent and Kate to be moving quite slowly. How many years will it take them to admit that they're hot for each other? Ahhh the frustration!

Nonetheless, despite its flaws, the book has a few redeemable things. Some good lines were thrown in places and the author did a great job with the smut. I would still recommend this book, but I know that this is far from Alessandra Torre's best work.

IT'S LIVE!!
*Amazon*Barnes & Noble*iBooks*

Holy wow, AT sure knows how to write some hot books! Ms. Torre took a unique twist on the usual erotica novels with Love in Lingerie and made it something teasingly sexy.

Trey Marks is a man with far from simple needs, he needs his company to not go under, he needs Kate to help him get his business profitable, and he needs to not want to bend her over his desk. She's off limits to him since she's his employee and more than that, not suited to him sexually. But the closer they get the harder it is for him to leave his hands off of her and soon he's forgetting why he should only be undressing her in his fantasies.

Reading about Kate and Trey was like reading one big seduction. It will caress your mind with slow and teasing strokes of sexual tension until you're on the brink of insanity, and then it will push you over into sheer bliss. They're two people that want each other so bad they could scream but are each unable to obtain the object of their affection, but that doesn't stop the heated glances or the slow touches.

I'm not a big fan of books that take a long time for the main characters to get together but with Love in Lingerie I had no issue with that fact that Kate and Trey didn't officially get together until near the end. There was so much chemistry between them throughout the whole book that it made it more than okay. I actually ended up loving that theirs was more of a friends-to-lovers type of story since even as friends Kate and Trey had an amazing connection that was also sexy as hell.

There's also a few twists that are thrown in about Trey that I wasn't expecting, but I really loved them. I feel like he had a complicated past but it made him very intriguing and a great Hero to read about. He also suited Kate perfectly, where she was a little timid about certain things Trey was the complete opposite and helped her open up and discover things out of her comfort zone. They were just perfect together and I loved them both.

The bottom line is that this is a book you absolutely need to read. I couldn't get enough of these characters and their story had me up all night unable to put my Kindle down until I got to their climax. It readdressed all the reasons I'm such a big fan of this author and reminded me why I love her writing so much.

Love in Lingerie is a light and delicious stand-alone. This contemporary romance offers a blend of friends to lovers and office romance with an overlay flavor of intrigue!

"If our relationship was lingerie, it’d be fur-lined handcuffs, latched around you, the key lost, escape impossible."
Kate Martin is determined to make a name for herself. When a prestigious position opens up as creative designer at Marks Lingerie, she is focused on landing the job. When she interviews for the position, she is instantly attracted to the owner of the business Trey Marks. Trey is quite enamored by Kate and hires her. In desperate need of saving his company, Trey will do anything to keep his hands off of Kate so that she can keep her head in the game.

description
"If our love was lingerie, it would never come off."
Trey and Kate share an easy friendship that continues to develop over work lunches, extravagant trips, and lingerie fittings. The sexual tension between the two is percolating, and although it is abundantly clear that they are meant to be together, Trey continues to push Kate away, and Kate continues to allow herself to be pushed. Will these friends be able to move into the lovers zone and final quench their thirst for each other?

description
“I just want to tell you that I love you.”
Told in dual POV, Love in Lingerie is sure to please romance fans who enjoy a slow burn friends to lovers romance. The pacing is quick with short chapters and an overabundance of sexual tension riding on the line. I thoroughly enjoyed the scenic locations that Kate and Trey visited while the lingerie company flourished. While I was desperately waiting for these two to come together, I appreciated the friendship they shared. Alessandra Torre knows how to steam up the pages on my Kindle, and she certainly did not disappoint when the moment finally arrived for these two to find their way!

Overall, Love in Lingerie is a light and sexy treat for contemporary romance fans. I admired Kate's professional drive, and Trey is one confident and sexy boss that any girl would love to work for!

LOVE IN LINGERIE is SEXY. EROTIC. And BEAUTIFUL. Trey hires intelligent and sassy Kate Martin to help save Marks Lingerie from its downward spiral, what he doesn't expect is to find a best friend, a friend who would become so much more. The problem is, Trey doesn't date staff, he certainly wouldn't date a friend and risk her finding out the truth of his desires for fear it may all be too much. The story arc develops over a trajectory of four years depicting an addictive and sexy friends- to-lovers dynamic high on sexual tension showcasing the nature of their attraction towards each other, toggling between HIM and HER perspectives that perfectly present their inner thoughts and feelings.

An erotic romance simmers through the pages with a slow burn that blossoms into the most beautiful love story. I LOVED every moment of the smartly written sassy narrative with its punchy chapters, sometimes punctuated with a cute lingerie analogy that never failed to make me smile. The pure sex appeal of the hero enamoured me, pulled me into his world making me understand his motivations, his desires and all his reasons why.

The transition of time and development of the protagonist’s relationship is perfectly paced with authentic sounding dialogue, thought patterns and actions. There are moments that made me laugh out loud, moments that warmed my heart, highly HOT moments that warmed other places and the perfect number of beautiful moments where I rooted for this couple to develop from friends to lovers. The slow burn of their romance tore through my reading heart.

Sexy, sweet, a little bit cheeky and a whole lot naughty is such a wonderful combination in an erotic romance and the fact this story became a friends-to-lovers made it an extra special and enjoyable reading experience. There are no surprises as to the final destination of this novel, as a reader I felt totally safe I'd be left feeling content. What is unique and totally mesmerising is the execution of the storytelling which has a refreshing and creative approach. The way the author weaves her writing canvas, showcasing their journey, is perfectly individual and downright wonderful.

The blurb is misleading. They're both dating/fucking other people even though they have feelings for each other and he's supposedly in love with her.

Not to mention that he routinely participates in group sex with OW (no MM just MFM) even while on trips with the heroine. In one scene he leaves after having had sex with OW and goes back to his room where the heroine is sleeping. He's picks her up to move her to her bed while thinking about how much he wants her. All while still filthy from the group sex he just participated in.

Barf. In romance I consider that cheating so IDGAF if people disagree with my tagging it as *cheater alert*

Oh and for all the push pull they don't even end up together until the last 5% of the book. Yippy!

It's Trey Marks' business to understand women's body. As owner of the sinking Marks Lingerie he needed someone to revitalize his brand. But when the new hire came in, his heart (and cock) craved more than what her job required.

Kate Martin needed the job as Creative Director for Marks Lingerie. What she didn't realize was how much temptations there'd be to distract her. But what started as innocent flirty friendship evolved into tension filled encounters that threatened to derail their friendship.

“This is market research, Kate. I’m just examining the product. Now, open your legs before I pull them apart myself.”

Trey was a fun, flirty young at heart hero. I like how he could be seductive and playful without being a cocky ass.

No one else can hurt me like this. No one else’s opinion is as important. No one else can break my heart as easily as he could mend it.

Kate was a driven career woman. And I like how she's still vulnerable when it came to matters of her heart.

I really like their friendship. It was cute how they acted around each other. I actually like them a lot more as friends with the constant sexual tension. They also had a good chemistry together. I felt like those qualities kind of lost once they were officially together especially with limited time to establish that new dynamics.

If my need was lingerie, it’d be blood-red, with lines that scream for attention.

One of my favorite elements in the book is when he compared his situations with types of lingerie. It was entertaining to see how he interpreted them.

Love In Lingerie is a light, flirty, sexy office romance. It would appeal to readers looking for fun, minimal drama, friends to lover story.

For me, making love always has been intertwined with being in love - even during the times I was trying to convince myself that this could not be happening and this was just a matter of attraction and I was not really falling for that guy.
In the same actually way I have never in my life had sex with anybody, while I was in love with someone else – even if I knew that my feelings were going nowhere.

Anyway, now I am happily married for many years and these thoughts are just part of my past and my younger more adventurous (not really) self. I have already chosen my prince charming and I am happy that I give love and I receive more love. So, all is good.

I am giving you this long introduction so that I will make you understand that I normally do not like romance books where the two people who are falling in love keep having sex and serious relationships with other people before they share their feelings. Especially when these two people are in their mid thirties going to forties and they are supposedly mature enough to know their feelings and to be responsible for their actions.

Somehow the description of the relationship between the 35 years old Kate and the 37 years old Trey has worked in this book. They started as a “boss-employee” relationship, then it moved to a “best friends” relationship and finally they become lovers.

We are talking here for a really slow-burn thing expanding in a two years period. Boyfriends are coming and going, girlfriends are coming and going, sex with others regularly. Trey has been a very naughty kinky boy. Kate is more reserved and she is having sex only with her boyfriends/husbands-to-be.

Trey is flirty always, staking his claim then taking everything back and the situation is all the time in a gray zone. I suppose the problem is Trey, throughout the book. Firstly he has a policy of not fucking with his employees, later on he just wants to save his company and sex with Kate would complicate things, after that Kate is too engaged and too prude to have anything to do with him, then he was thinking that maybe she is too good for him.

His secret life and the way he enjoys sex are his main problem. This is something that we learn almost in the middle of the book, but we always suspect. Kate will find out later when all the secrets have to be revealed and she has to make up her mind because at this point the ball is in her court.

I was pleasantly surprised with this book. I was expecting a full smutty book with your usual type kind of guy, cocky bastard foul mouth arrogant jerk.

I couldn’t be more mistaken. The characters have depth and substance.
Trey is a lost soul. He loves his employees and he is one of these types that he prefers to let his company sink than fire anybody. He is of course a playboy, but he is very private.
Kate is the nurturing type. She will offer Trey an anchor. She is loyal, trustworthy and real to herself. When she thinks that her relationship is not going anywhere, she will end it (Her ridiculous fiancé will steal the show in the first half of the book).

Both of them will learn to coexist and to communicate. Trey will learn to slow down and think, Kate will learn to let loose sometimes.

The sexual tension is high. From the first impression the two of them have for each other. She thinks that he is so good looking that he should be illegal. He thinks that if he had wanted her, he could have had her.

Overall I really enjoyed the book and I will try more by this author.

“If our relationship was lingerie, it’d be fur-lined handcuffs, latched around you, the key lost, escape impossible.

Talk about sexual tension!! Alessandra Torre certainly knows how to leave you panting for more. Just when you think you couldn’t handle any more of the hot intensity, she goes and cranks it up just a little bit more. And if that wasn’t enough, now you’re left with trying to decide if you should just keep your head in the freezer for the duration of the story or ask someone to put you out of this addictive sexual misery.

Trey Marks has always been the kind of man that knows what he wants and fights to get it. Building his own lingerie business and turning it into a success is what drives him to not only do more, but BE more. So when that very same business turns out to be in jeopardy, he hires one of the best creative directors to rebrand his company. Some people say you can tell how someone is by just looking at them from one look and when Kate steps foot in Trey's office, those words have never rang more true.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Kate has dedicated her life for the past ten years to a company that has overlooked all of her achievements. Now ready for a fresh start, she’s decided to work for Trey as his new creative director. But when she meets the handsome man for the first time, she knows without a shadow of a doubt that this guy is going to change her life whether good or bad.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

“If this evening was lingerie, it’d be expensive. The kind that seems worth the price tag but isn’t. The kind that leaves your wallet empty and your mind fucked.”

Now as I said before, the sexual tension in this one was off the charts!! I seriously thought this author was into delayed gratification because she sure as hell did it with these two. But you know what, I wouldn’t have had it any other way and I think that if it was done too soon, we would have missed out that connection that made Trey and Kate, TREY AND KATE.

Did I get frustrated at times with their stupidity? Yes I did. But I understood their reasoning for it and when you have something so strong and unbreakable like Kate and Treys friendship, you really learn not to sweat the small stuff and that’s what I loved about them. Trust me when I tell you don’t want to miss out on this hot, sexy read.

I just finished this read, and there were lots that I liked about this book and then a few things that I wasn't a fan of. For this reason, my rating is a bit lower than the majority of readers that have loved this read! If you enjoy a great slow burning relationship between the hero and the heroine, than you will definitely love this story! This kind of thing isn't my favorite...I prefer to have more time with the couple together, and becoming intimate about halfway through the story. In this story though, I will say that even though the couple weren't together until very late; the dynamic between Kate and Trey was very smooth and entertaining. They were great friends, and it really worked well for them. Again though, not my favorite...Another thing, I do NOT like when the main couple are dating other people. In the case of Trey and Kate, they do see other people through out this book. I have such a hard time with that, and quite frankly I might not have read it if I knew that had happened.

On the positive side, as I said before; Trey and Kate had a great friendship. It was wonderful when they shared time together, they were entertaining and gave me such warm feelings and a few times made me laugh out loud! This author writes brilliantly, which makes the story flow easily.
The only time I was a bit bored was at the beginning. It took me the first quarter of the book to get into it where I was invested. I do believe though it is a case of me and not most readers!!!

Would I recommend this book? I would to readers that love a slow burn romance. If that is your cup of tea; then you will love this story!!!

Thanks Steph for reading this with me...as always I enjoy our Buddy reads!!

WOW! Alessandra Torre is such an amazing writer. Not only is this story hot and steamy at times, but it's sensual, romantic, and truly heartfelt. I loved Trey and Kate. While circumstances kept them apart, their feelings never went away. This is a fantastic hot read, the chemistry between the main characters is flammable. This story has a strong story line with great characters, full of romance and erotic scenes.
It totally deserves the 5 stars I’m giving it!

Trey Marks; owner of Marks's Lingerie was struggling and was in desperate need of help to bust his business and get it back to where it was before.
Kate Martin was good at her job and she wanted this job more than anything. She got hired at Marks' Lingerie as Creative Director. However; she was didn't know that she would fall so hard for her boss. He was the ultimate temptation and she did everything to keep it as friendship as possible.

Trey fought with himself to stay away from Kate and so did she. However; after a year of working together and trying hard to avoid what they were feeling Trey finally realized he wasn't going to love anyone as much as he does Kate. Kate however was stubborn and she really irritated me; I wanted to love her but I found myself being upset at her for being so selfish and self-centered. She did help him with his company and she did keep everything as friendship but she didn't think twice to judge him without carrying about his feelings.

"When a kiss waits for a thousand days, it erupts like a cyclone-a slow unfurling of lips, of tongues, hands ripping, clothes flying, hot swirls of breath met with a clash of frantic desire."

"I've never experienced chemistry like this, each taste of her tongue, each shift of her body, the yank of her hand in my hair-each one fans the flame."

I did enjoy this story but not as much as I really wanted too. I wanted to feel more connected with the heroine but I found myself unable to do so. Overall, I did enjoy it when they finally gave into all the tension and chemistry that was going on between them for way too long. I guess time does play a big role on this story. It took them a long time to figure out each other and what they really wanted to succeed at their happy relationship.

When Trey Marks hires a new Creative Director to bring his lingerie company back to the spotlight and bring profit again, he never expected Kate Martin to take his heart away as well...as much as it pains him, he fights his attraction towards her and has a "no fraternization" policy at his company, makes it somewhat easier to hold on to the frienship they develop...until the time comes, when he can't bear the thought of seeing Kate with others, and even his own kinky sexual encounters can't compare to the desire for Kate that's barging through the front door of his heart.
"We broke up last week."
"What?..Why?"
"You want the long or short answer?"
"Both."
"She wasn't you."

I usually love the "friends to lovers" theme but here I have somehow missed the genuine connection between Trey and Kate, cause since the very first page, all that was ever on his mind was the thought of how he wants to fuck her. But since she was firstly engaged, he backed off, then the pattern of "her being in a relationship, then breaking it off, when Trey couldn't handle the "pressure" of losing her to the some other "unworthy" guy" repeated over and over again...

I felt like he was just leading her on, then when she reacted, he'd pull back...again. Cause there's "too much at stake"?!

*pinches her nose with her fingers, calling for patience*

until he finally confessed his love for her, "fucked off" the no-fraternization rule and went for the kill..., not literaly, duh? lol

BUT then there was a little twist in Trey's revelation of his kinky sexual encounters that Kate found, lets say "uncomfortable", and even that was handled by Trey's exclamation - "now that she belongs to him finally, he has no need to dwell into threesomes, being a third wheel without emotional impact other than getting the release and to fulfill his own need to please a woman", therefore an expected HEA comes after they embrace their own differencies and figure out how to combine personal and professional relationship....

Unfortunately, I couldn't find the true, genuine reason to like it more. Cause, to me, Trey and Kate's relationship, inspite the funny, sexy banter, even though "the research" thing Trey pulled off on occasion felt off in the friendship zone, felt awkward almost until the 90 % of the story...

Kate Martin is a beautiful woman living in Los Angeles, California. She's in a relationship with a man she's absolutely bored with & working in a job she hates. Needing a change she interviews for a job at Marks Lingerie. She loves women's fashion, but her passion is undergarments. Kate is interviewed by the delicious owner Trey Marks.

Trey needs a new Creative Director. He is looking to hire someone to help him save his sinking company. Sales have been declining, & he's barely making payroll. He thinks Kate just might be the one to help him revitalize the brand & make Marks Lingerie great again.

 photo D533B815-FD3E-4E40-B639-F64ABD5CAD08_zps2k84ydfw.png

Trey & Kate work closely & he soon realizes his company needs her. She's full of fire & believes in Marks Lingerie. They work side by side, working long nights and traveling together. They make a great team. As their attraction grows, so does the extreme sexual tension between them. Trey has strict rules when it comes to his employees. They are off limits. He doesn't want to risk his company or his friendship with Kate by getting personal.

Kate can't ignore the chemistry she feels every time she's in the same room with her beautiful boss. They share a love for the company & have also become best friends. They've grown to care deeply for one another, but neither are willing to act on their feelings. He's become this seductive unattainable man she's desperate for.

-If this woman was lingerie, she'd be black leather, with studs along the seams and enough of a dominatrix vibe to give a man pause.

-God, the things I could give her. The ways I could please her.

Trey falls hard for Kate & has to decide if he's willing to ditch the rules to have her. He is in agony every time he's near her & cant touch her. When they finally come together it's explosive. It's a slow burn, but so worth the wait.

Trey, the good-looking, swoon worthy owner of Marks Lingerie, is in search of a Creative Director that will help him bring the business up and running and be a success again.

Kate is a beautiful, sexy, and intelligent woman who’s looking for a job that can appreciate her hardworking attitude. So, when an opportunity opens for her to apply to Trey’s company she grabs it and went for an interview. Nervous and aware how sexy her “boss” to be, she tried to be calm as the interview progress. And Trey assures Kate that:

“…there are certain lines I don't cross, and fucking my employees is one of them."

Kate got the job and start’s working for Trey and she proves to be an asset to the company. Marks Lingerie becomes synonymous with success. Friendship develops but, the sexual tension between these two is undeniable. Neither one of them wants to give in; afraid that the business will suffer once they become lovers.

Will they finally take the risk and be more than friends?

I absolutely enjoyed this latest book from one of my go-to-author. The pacing of the story is just right… the witty banter between the characters… the sexy scene just HOT… and oh, there’s a twist in the story!

I'll never get tired of reading a book written by Alessandra Torre for I know I'm in for a treat once started reading them. And Love in Lingerie is no exception to her superb way of telling a story!

I love when my expectations gets blown to smithereens. That's exactly what Alessandra Torre did with Love in Lingerie. I went into this story expecting a fun romance and sizzling hot chemistry between the main characters. Well I got that and so much more. A hundred percent more. I got blown away by this very well developed and wonderfully paced story with fabulous characters.

The main characters Kate and Trey were beautifully written and flawed in their own way. Kate was my kind of woman. She was down to earth, humbled and secure in her own sexuality and skills regarding her work as a creative director. Trey was just as amazing as Kate. He's had his share of women but always treated them with respect. He's very dedicated to his company Marks Lingerie. I was very intrigued by him because he had his secrets and also had his struggles with his company. I had a crush on both Kate and Trey. Both individually and together did they show strength and vulnerability.

This wasn't just about forbidden romance because they worked together. No, it was how a friendship was built and grew into something more. Their friendship was phenomenal because of their chemistry but also because they became each other's best friend. The pace and development of their friendship was flawlessly written and explored, that I felt their hesitation, fear and love they had for taking the next step into a relationship.
Their chemistry was delicious and intense. The push and pull, the flirting between them only showed how crazy attracted and in love they were with one another.
The epilogue was fantastic and my admiration for this story only grew. What a perfect end to a mesmerizing story.

Alessandra Torre can create anything with words. Her prose is poignant and feels effortless. She can surprise me, make me swoon and literally make my head and heart hurt because of the twists and turns. Love In Lingerie gave me all of these emotions and I enjoyed every one them. Definitely 5 star worthy.

“This is market research, Kate. I'm just examining the product. Now, open your legs before I pull them apart myself.”

When it comes to well-written, skin-tingling romances that make you addicted to their every page, Alessandra Torre is my go-to author. In her bold signature style, Torre pens a tender, erotic love story with incredibly dynamic protagonists and loads of sexual tension between them, gripping from the start and paced just right until the very end. A sexy, angsty tale of two best friends slowly falling in love with one another, this is a story that is both light-hearted and heart-wrenching at times, pulling me in with its finely nuanced characters and a subtly provocative scenario, and making me forget the world around me cover to cover.

3 Hmmmm Stars

I one clicked Love in Lingerie because of all of the five star reviews. I will just say this, I had certain expectations going into this book and they were not met.

I didn’t hate the book, I was frustrated and a little annoyed, but it wasn’t. It just wasn’t my cuppa.

I love the premise of the book. I like that Kate is going into Trey’s business and she’s going to turn it around. I love a strong business woman. I love that Trey owns a Lingerie business. I love that Trey is a successful and cocky Hero. See all the “Loves”?!

My first expectation

- I thought this was a rom-com. I don’t know why. Maybe I thought any book where the Hero owns a Lingerie business would be funny. It’s pretty light in the beginning, but it wasn’t belly laugh hilarious. It wasn’t dramatic either, it was just a normal NA book.

My second expectation

- I didn’t think this book would be filled with angst. I know most of the reviews said it had angst, but maybe because I thought this book was a rom com, I figure how angsty could it be? It was REALLY angsty. I wanted to pull my hair out. I wanted to slap BOTH the Hero and the Heroine in the face and say, “GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER”

My third expectations

- I thought this book would be really steamy. Look at the cover! It has a half-naked man and woman on the cover. Shit, her ass is showing. Don’t think I’m a perv or anything, I can read a YA book and be okay with ZERO sex, but I was in a sexy time mood. I wanted Dicks, Clits and Orgasms. My expectations of steam was not met and this really pissed me off.

Another thing I couldn’t get over and this falls under the angst category was the lack of communication and just overall pride between the Hero and Heroine. I felt like if either one of them just took a moment and looked at the situation, they could have avoided a lot of heartache. I wasn’t fond of

I think the moment where the Hero . I know I mentioned steam was low, but I was talking about the main characters. I just couldn’t get over this moment for the HERO. I think it was because at this point

Suffice it to say, this book wasn’t for me, BUT a lot of people love it. And I hope when some people read my review they will want to one click because will work for them.

We can’t all love the same books, but a book that doesn’t click for one person may click for another.
