Children at this month’s storytime were able to work out just how they felt about Santa Claus when the Christmas-themed event was held.
The festive sessions were aimed at getting into the spirit of the season, but always learning all about Christmas.
Starting storytime off as usual was the song If You’re Happy and You Know It, which did have its own Christmas twist.
Library assistant Leonie Murphy was on hand to get the important reading aspect of the day underway when she told the story of Wombat Divine by Mem Fox.
In the book wombat loves Christmas and everything about it.
However, when it comes to the nativity, the other animals find it tough to find him a role to play. Once the story was read it was time for the children to take part in their own nativity scene, depicting the birth of Jesus Christ.
With a smaller than expected crowd on Tuesday, there was room for many improvisations that had the children and their parents enjoying the activity.
The final task before Santa’s arrival was to make a Christmas decoration.
The big moment finally arrived, with Santa coaxed into the library with song Jingle Bells before each child was given the opportunity to take a seat on his lap and whisper what they wanted for Christmas and have their photo taken.
