This survey is part of the FIBR project's (see
fibrproject.org) efforts to establish the current state of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications for financial inclusion in Africa. AI goes by many names (statistical models, robots or bots, machine learning, etc.), but generally is agreed to be the capability of a machine to imitate intelligent human behavior. Applications of AI include everything from predicting credit risk to automating back-end processes to facilitating conversations with clients through chatbots.
We seek your participation to gain a clear understanding of AI usage to date and to identify barriers to usage. The consolidated results of this survey will be shared with participants, although names of institutions and respondents will be anonymous. The consolidated results will also be available in a forthcoming FIBR report on the role of AI for financial inclusion published by BFA with support from Mastercard Foundation.
