December Indoor Track: A Sub-4 Mile & Ajee Wilson/Donavan Brazier Debut
The U.S. college and high school cross country seasons officially came to end this past weekend, crowning a total of 40 champions. Despite it still being 2016, the 2017 indoor track season has begun and we saw some impressive marks thrown down already over the past two weekends.

December Indoor Track Highlights:

Houston's Brian Barraza ran the first ever sub-4 indoor mile in the month of December running 3:58.66 on the Texas A&M track. Keep an eye on the Houston Cougars who could put together a strong DMR team with Barraza on the anchor and Brian Bell (1:47 PB) on the 800m leg.

Donavan Brazier made his long awaited return to the track running an impressive 45.95 4x400m split. To put that split in perspective, 45.95 would have been good for 13th in the world last year.

Ajee Wilson ran a 2:42.71 1k on Haverford's flat 200m track. This would convert to about a 2:40 on a banked track; the world lead last year was 2:39.

Fresh off her NCAA cross country title Missouri's Karissa Schweizer ran a solo 15:37.40 5k at the BU Season Opener.

Despite not having cross country eligibility, Tulsa's Marc Scott ran an impressive 13:38.87 5k at the Hoosier Open.

Nicole Sifuentes ran a 9:01.25 3k in Allendale, Michigan then went on to run a 4:29 road mile in Hawaii.

The collegiate track debut of high school sub-4 miler Micheal Slagowski went down in State College where Slagowski ran a 2:58.14 1200m.

Stanford commit Jess Lawson ran a 4:26.44 1500m, which is #3 all-time in New York, #24 all-time in the nation.

TCU's Jalen Miller returned from injury to run a 6.68 60m dash. Miller was third in the 2015 NCAA 60m final competing for Ole Miss.

Kentucky's Javianne Oliver ran a solid 7.23 60m dash.

Kentucky's Sha'Keela Saunders leaped 6.73m in the long jump, which will likely remain one of the top marks heading into NCAAs come March.

Alabama's Trey Cunningham ran 7.63 in the 60m hurdles, breaking the Alabama state record and putting him #8 all-time in the nation.

Minnesota senior Luca Wieland scored 6,089 points in the heptathlon, which will likely stay as one of the best heptathlon scores heading into NCAAs.
