The New England Patriots will be welcoming back Danny Amendola after he missed a week due to injuries.

When the New England Patriots lost Julian Edelman for the season in the preseason, one of the key players that needed to step up was Danny Amendola. As a good slot receiver as well, Amendola was the natural fit to replace Edelman in the slot for the Patriots.

In Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs, Amendola was one of the bright spots for the Patriots. In a game when the Patriots struggled, Amendola played very well. Amendola was able to total six receptions and 100 receiving yards in the loss.

Tom Brady and the Patriots’ offense struggled when Amendola went down. However, they were able to bounce back against the New Orleans Saints. While the offense looked good against Saints, they will be facing a much better defense in the Texans. Luckily, Amendola will be back in Week 3 against the Texans.

"“I mean, there’s going to be bumps and bruises along the way, but that’s football, right?” Amendola said Friday to DJ Bean of CSNNE.com. “But I feel really good today, feel strong, so get ready tomorrow and just continue to prepare.”"

Unfortunately for the Patriots, Amendola has a bit of an injury history of his own. However, he will be good to go for Week 3. Getting Amendola back will certainly be a boost for the Patriots, as they only had three active wide receivers last week against the Saints. This was a risky move by the Patriots, but it ended up working just fine.

Against a better Texans defense, the Patriots will all of their weapons healthy and ready. In addition to Amendola being back and ready for the Texans, Rob Gronkowski will also be playing. Gronkowski had to leave the game early with a groin injury but was able to practice later in the week.

As a large favorite against the Texans, the Patriots will be looking to avoid another big let down. Luckily, they will have some key weapons back for this big AFC game. With both Amendola and Gronkowski back, the Patriots should be able to improve to 2-1.
