· Demigender Definitions

Hello everyone,

Because we get multiple messages about the definition of many terms related to demigenders, I thought I would make a masterlist of some of the terms asked about.

Demigender: someone who identities partially with one gender. This is not dependent on how much (as in percentage) someone identities as one gender; it solely depends on if a person identifies as partially. For some, they may identify with two or more genders while others may not.

*Demigender is sometimes a subset of bigender

*Demigender is a blanket term for the following:

Demigirl: someone who identities partially as a girl/woman; may also use the term “demigal, demifemale, demiwoman”

Demiboy: someone who identities partially as a boy/man; may also use the term “demiguy, demimale, demiman”.

Demienby: someone who identities partially as enby; “enby” is a noun and a name for a gender which acts just like “girl” and “boy” do; not all non-binary individuals consider themselves “enby”

Demifluid: someone whose gender is partially fluid with the other part(s) being static; an example could be: one part of their gender is “woman” while the part that fluctuates is  ”man” and “genderqueer”.

Demiflux: someone whose gender is partially fluid with the other part(s) being static; this differs from “demifluid” as “-flux” indicates that one of the genders is neutral; an example could be: one part of their gender is “genderqueer” while the part that fluctuates is “agender” and “woman”.

I hope this clears things up a bit.
