I’m a freak, a misfit, an odd end.
Abandoned and unloved.
But my happiness is so close I can taste it.

Until he shows up.

Gorgeous, expensive, and all man.
Sad brown eyes and a brilliant smile.
And he wants me to go with him.

His intentions are hidden.
His motives are unclear.
Yet, I leave with him because there’s no happiness here.

What he promises feels too good to be true…
A castle. A fortune. And horses too.

It’s too easy.
Nothing in my life has ever been easy.

What’s the catch?
There’s always a catch.

MY TORIN: Is a Contemporary standalone novel by K. Webster. In this we meet Casey, and brothers Tyler & Torin.

I'm going to write this as spoiler free and no frills as I can possibly make it so I don't spoil it for others come release day.

In this we meet Casey Doe, and brothers Tyler and Torin Kline.
These three characters are like nothing you've ever encountered before, Casey is counting down the days until she reaches the age of eighteen when she can pack up all her worldly goods which fit in a small backpack and leave her last ward behind. But a chance encounter outside of a building establishment a connection is made briefly over a shiny penny dropped and discarded on the pavement.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

That brief encounter will play a huge part in Casey’s future and this is where the story soars, your taken on a beautiful magical journey that will have you in it’s clutches until that very last word read. A girl who had nothing is all of a sudden given so much.

Going into this I didn't know what to expect, but loving this authors past works my expectations were high, but with My Torin she exceeded those expectations ten fold. The 'prologue' reeled me in, chapter one and I was hooked!!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This author shows us so many sides of herself, the sick and twisted, the dark and gritty, the stomach curdling pushed out of our comfort zones reads, but this book was nothing like what we normally expect from her, it was just such an exceptional, unique, un-put-downable beautiful, emotional novel that put me through a wringer full of feels. I love seeing this softer side of this author because that's where true magic happens.

To sum it all up in a few words My Torin captures your soul, kidnaps your every thought, manipulates and crushes your heart as it quite literally takes your breath away. This is my all time favourite book from this author.

This comes highly recommended by yours truly!! Get one clicking come release day this is one book you don't want to miss out on!!

***********************************************

Welcome to a different story!

I must point out that the blurb of this book is vague. Believe me it doesn’t matter if you read the blurb or not. It just doesn’t give a clue about what the book is about.

Only when you begin to read the book, you begin to predict about its plot and by %35 of the book, you know for sure what you are reading about.

Although I won’t be giving you the whole plot line, I know readers need some assurances and safety details so I will try to provide them for you as much as possible.

Borrowing this book from my friend, I went in blind, knowing nothing. I even realized it too late that I was reading a novel by the author of the taboo novel “The Wild”. I certainly would have waited for more reviews if I had realized it earlier. However, this book was something I was able to read and appreciate - at least partly.

***********************************************

Trying not to give many spoilers about the story but still give you some safety details, I have organized this review as a “20 Questions/Answers” one 😊

1. Is it about 2 guys and 1 girl?
Yes, one girl and 2 guys who happen to be brothers.
Girl 18, Torin 25, his brother 32 years old.

2. Are there blurred lines in it?
Yes, a little.

3. Do both guys love her?
Yes.

4. Does she love both guys?
Yes.

5. Does she kiss both guys?
Not at the same time, but yes.

6. Does she sleep with both guys?
No, but she would if she could – it just didn’t happen for totally different reasons, not because they didn’t want to.

7. Is there threesome action in it? Or is it a love triangle?
I would say a little bit of a love triangle but no menage – no threesome.

8. Would it eventually become a menage if it could?
Well, if “what happened to one of the guys” hadn’t happened, it might have become a menage – or not…

Oh God, I really don’t know.

I can just say that there was a point when I feared it was going towards menage but then it didn’t.

9. Is the book dark?
I wouldn’t say so. However, there are disturbing moments.

10. Is there any ex-lover drama in it?
Nope.

BIG SPOILER HERE - SO PLEASE BE FOREWARNED!!!!

11. Is there violence/rape/abuse in it?
I am not sure what you would call it. Rape or not? I don't know, really. I really don’t know what to call it.

Did it disturb me? Yes. Very much, indeed. And my -2 points is just for this reason. I know how much he loved Casey but ... well, but I couldn't get over my discomfort easily. I still feel weird about it.

12. Did I enjoy the book?
I found it very interesting, different and refreshing.

13. Did I like the characters?
I didn’t fall in love with them but I was able to connect and empathize.

BIG SPOILER HERE - SO PLEASE BE FOREWARNED!!!!

14. Is there death in it?

15. Is the book hot – steamy?
Not much, I wouldn’t say so. At least, not for me.

16. Is it emotional?
Yeah, it touched my heart. Maybe it is not romantically emotional but it pulls at your heart strings, that’s for sure.

17. Are the characters perfect or do they have flaws?
They are imperfect, especially, Torin.

18. Is the epilogue good?
Yes, but "the two chapters before the epilogue" were the best of all. They completed the whole circle and added a lot more meaning to the story.

19. Is the writing good?
Yes, it is the best part of it. It is captivating.

20. Who tells the story?
All three of them (Casey, Tyler and Torin) plus one chapter by the father of the brothers!

***********************************************

PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEOS the author recommends at the end of the book.

It was only after I watched them that I was able to fully comprehend why Torin did the things he did and couldn’t do the things he didn’t do.

It was after I watched the videos that I started to cry, understanding Torin’s inner fight better.

Well, life is not fair!

***********************************************

Here are some impressive moments from the book:

“It’s just a strange home with strange people in it. But I swear to every god there is I will take care of you. You will want for nothing, Casey. Nothing. Nobody will hurt you. I’ll make sure you’re safe.”
-Tyler

***

“What’s the catch, Ty?”
“You’re the catch, sweetheart.”

-Tyler & Casey

***

I’ll give you all the pennies, Casey. I’ll give you them all.
- Torin

Casey watches with wide eyes under a blanket on the end of the couch, and Torin stares at her. I stare at Torin.
-Tyler

***

I’d received the nastiest text telling me I’d better go get “our girl” back or there’d be hell to pay.

- Tyler

***

Guy hollers for me, but I ignore him as I run back to my boys.
“My boys”.

- Casey

***

I brought her here for Torin, but I didn’t realize I found her for me too.

- Tyler

***

Tyler: “Do you think she’s pretty?”

Torin: “Pretty is one word and she is many. Beautiful. Alluring. Appealing. Charming. Cute. Dazzling. Delicate. Delightful. Elegant. Exquisite. Fascinating. Fine. Gorgeous. Graceful. Lovely. Magnificent. Marvelous. Pleasing. Splendid. Stunning. Wonderful. Superb. Angelic. Bewitching. Classy. Divine. Excellent. Enticing. Foxy. Fair. Pulchritudinous. Radiant. Ravishing. Resplendent. Shapely. Beautiful.”

Tyler: You said beautiful twice.

Torin: It needed to be said twice.

I need her. I need her like the very air we share. I need to suck her into my lungs and live off her.

I need to breathelicktastetouchsmellfeel her.

“Mine,” I mutter to no one.

***

Her touch is everything. I wish I could grab a handful of her hair and draw her to my mouth. I wish I could kiss her or murmur all the things I’d love to do to her. But I can’t. What I can do is remain still so she can touch me.

***

Finally, my body obeys my begging...

descriptionHoly Christ on a cracker. My first 5-Star book of 2018 and I don't even know where to begin with this review. I am basically a sobbing emotional mess. I want to hug this book and never let it go. It was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. K's best work to date (IMO).

description

So I will start off apologizing because this review will be vague. I don't want to give a single minute of this story away. It's a book best gone into blindly. Trust me when I say you will not be sorry. This was fantastically well written. The pace was perfect. The plot was engaging and had me hooked from page one. It was heartbreaking. It was sweet. It was hopeful. Your emotions will be ALL over the place. I can't remember the last time a book legit made me sob uncontrollably. I didn't find this one particularly angsty and there was no OW/OM drama. It's tamer sex wise than some of this author's other books, but that was perfect for this story. The sex scenes we get were suitably hot. There weren't too many secondary characters as the focus was more on the three main ones, but the few that are sprinkled about added good background to the plot. I ADORED all three main characters. OMG...I don't even know where to begin. All three were just brilliantly written. It was very obvious that this author did her research, and she did it well. Last, it was all wrapped up in an ending that AGAIN had me bawling my eyes out.

Nothing left to say about this one. It was amazing and you would be crazy to give it a pass. With that in mind yours truly will give it two HUGE thumbs (and eight fingers and ten toes) up.description

2.5 stars. Bad but in a hilarious way.

The book would probably feel heartbreaking, forbidden and creepy if all the characters hadn't been so fucking horny 24/7. Without reprieve. 😂🥲

One moment Casey (h) was dripping wet for Torin (H), falling for his rapey antics, and the next she was seeking comfort in his brother's arms. Soaking wet. Again. 🌚

(I laughed out loud every time Casey was clicking her pen or tapping incessantly on any available surface meanwhile Torin (H) was calling her Casey-Casey over and over again during their family dinners. Mental health energy. 🤍 I enjoyed that Torin's brother Tyler was sandwiched in-between this lovely couple and acted like nothing out of the ordinary was happening right in front of his eyes. 💌)

🖤

My impression is that Casey loved . For obvious reasons. Although there's no denying that she had hots for both, the author made it crystal clear the girl was susceptible to a change of mind. 🤡

I think that stories that feature a love triangle with two brothers and a barely legal girl involved, mental condition and should entail a bit more depth, inner struggle and richer emotional content.

But the joke is on me. Did I really expect Webster to explore anything other than the depth of Casey's vagina in her book? 😔

Even though throughout the book Torin was acting like a ❣️dream man❣️
— biting, licking tears (I blame authors for this brand-new, shining kink of mine), watching Casey through the walls 👁️☠️🕯️ and mounting her like a wild animal that he was, I rooted for Casey to fuck Tyler too. 🤡 Let's be honest here: the guy balanced things out.

No, but after finishing this story, I realized that I sort of loved everything about it, besides the execution. Two brothers equally obsessed with one girl (one was the caring type and the other — possessive, selfish and animalistic 🤤) is my catnip, and I have only producers and screenwriters of Vampire Diaries to blame for it. 👺

I wish I could say that the quality of smut scenes compensated for the lack of authentic taboo vibes, though. 🥺

“My emotions threaten to consume me. I went from having no one who cared about me, aside from a social worker who was paid to—to having two men desperate to keep me safe and secure in their home.”

***SPOILERS***

~After reading the synopsis and seeing all the great reviews, I thought, WOW! this is a book I must read and read it now! So I got the book... ↓↓↓↓

I finished reading My Torin two days ago... I was at a loss as to what I should rate it. I was unsure of my feelings towards all that had transpired throughout this book. My thoughts were so conflicted, I wasn't entirely sure how to even begin to put my feelings into words. I decided to take a step back, absorb and process. So here I am, two days later, I've come to the realization that this was not the book for me. This story was weird, twisted and honestly it was very disturbing, to say the least. I get that this is a book about autism and not having control of your own body etc... but I found it all to be extremely creepy (especially Torin)!! I mean I get it, I do, but the things he did gave me the hebejebes! Such as Torin lurking in the walls, spying on Casey, going into her room, laying on top of her, licking her tears away/biting her, dry humping her while she's sleeping and locking her in her room to keep her from leaving! As if that not disgusting enough that's not even the worst of it!!! The most fucked up part is when he rapes her!!! Sorry, but that's exactly what that was R.A.P.E!!! And Casey being so desperate to not be alone completely overlooks this. NO NO NO NO, just NO!!! My Torin really rubbed me the wrong way and I'm known to love some pretty messed up shit! Rape is where I draw the line. I just didn't see the beauty in it that everyone else seems to have seen.

~My opinion of this book is just that, MY opinion! Which is not the majority with this one. So please, don't go solely off my review alone!~

*Love the cover. Hate the book!*

This. This is exactly why she’s here. I may not understand people, but I certainly understand this. Electricity buzzes below her surface. She’s not someone who fits inside a mold. People like her are rare. People like her deserve to find others who share that same buzz.

This is why I can’t ever stop reading K. Webster’s books. You never know what she’s going to throw at you next. The blurb to this story doesn’t reveal too much and I’m thankful for that because going into this story practically blind seemed to only intensify my enjoyment. I love it when the plot and flow of a story are flawless, that means there is never a moment where I’m not fully entertained. This is definitely going down as my top favorite book by this versatile author.

MY TORIN is a beautiful love story that at times will be heartbreaking but in the end, it’s also very uplifting. There isn’t any graphic violence and although there are some scorching steamy bits in the book it’s very tame compared to some of K. Webster’s other stories and actually, I think it suited this story. There was no need for raunchiness and I think it would have tainted the story if it had been included.

Here are my overall ratings on the book:

Heroes: 5
Heroine: 4.5
Plot: 5
Angst: 3
Steam: 5
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 5

I know that I didn’t summarize the story and really that’s because I want you all to be able to get the same experience that I had. This one is so good, you will not be able to put it down!!

MY TORIN releases tomorrow. Be sure to one-click!!

One house without windows, one girl, two brothers

"I need to breathelicktastetouchsmellfeel her"

Like most of K. Webster's books, it would be better if you don't read any spoilers about My Torin before you start the book. That way, you will have an amazing ride and you will never know what other twist you will have in the next page.

Thus, I don't want to give any details about the book. I only want to tell you how I perceive each one of main characters:

The girl: An alternative Alice from Alice in Wonderland
READY TO BE FREE
["But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that,"said the Cat. "We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

From Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll]

Brother number 1: An alternative monster from Beauty And The Beast motion picture
READY TO BE LOVED
["Just a little change
Small to say the least
Both a little scared
Neither one prepared
Beauty and the Beast"

Alan Menken/Howard Ashman
Lyrics from Walt Disney music company ]

Brother number 2: An alternative Fox from Little Prince
READY TO LEAVE AND BE LEFT
[So the little prince tame the Fox. And the hour of his departure drew near.
"Ah," said the Fox., "I shall cry."
"It is your own fault," said the Prince. "I never wished you any short of harm. But you wanted me to tame you."
......
"It has done me good,"said the Fox, "because of the colour of the wheat fields."

From The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery]

I hope that you will enjoy the book as much as I did!

I’ve read a lot of books by K. Webster. A LOT!! And I have to say that My Torin has to be one of my favorite. While I love when I get to swim in the dark and twisted thoughts that seem to come so easily to this author’s mind, I absolutely love when she stretches her chops into the contemporary world. Whenever she does the unexpected, something beautiful ALWAYS happens. My Torin was stunning, profound, touching, heartfelt, awe-inspiring, and completely breathtaking.

“She stifles my breath sometimes. Simply from looking at her. Like just her presence sucks the breath right from my lungs.”

I’m sitting here trying to come up with something to write without spoiling the story and yet conveying to you all how I was able to fall in love with three extremely different characters. So in love that I wanted to hug and touch and squeeze and enjoy them all. So in love that I felt each twinge of pain, discomfort, awkwardness and anguish. So in love that I’m sure that each and every one of you will fall as deeply in love with them too.

“She’s a drug you want to snort and get hooked on. But it’s her taste that maddens me most.”

Obviously my favorite character was Torin, but Tyler and Casey owned huge chunks of my heart with barely any effort. The author gave us thorough character development, a moving plot, and the feels were out of this world. I laughed and cried and sighed and cheered for every one of their triumphs and pitfalls. Webster gave me three characters with unique personalities and unique quirks and unique flaws to fall deeply in love with.

“Tyler thought I could love her. I don’t even know what love is. But I could breathelicktastetouchsmellfeel her. I could do that all damn day.”

Honestly, the blurb should be enough to make you want to one-click this book. The fact that I already ordered it on paperback should be an added incentive. If you love a book that tackles sensitive issues and handles them with style and grace, one that evokes a keen sense of compassion and understanding, that speaks on love at all levels, one that is a journey of emotions and more character-driven than anything else, you’re going to want to read this!!

3.5 STARS!

Casey Doe was abandoned by a drug-addicted mother and spent all her life in foster homes because no one wanted to adopt a baby with severe withdrawal symptoms. 💔
At 17, she feels unloved and unwanted - until a rich man with sad eyes and a beautiful smile named Tyler Kline offers her something she can't refuse - he will take her out of the foster care to give her a better life... in exchange for one thing, his brother Torin. 😱💥

📚 “𝗜’𝗹𝗹 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘆. 𝗜’𝗹𝗹 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝗹𝗹.” 📚

I knew this a long time ago, but now it's official... K. Webster is one crazy author!!!!!!! 😂
This story is unusual, the characters are broken and far from the norm, the plot is surprising and original - and despite all the problems I had with the plot itself and although if it was a true story, I would probably call anonymously to social services- I enjoyed it. 💥

📚 “𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘆-𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘆.”
𝗧𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗽. 📚

I liked the amazing connection between the brothers, Tyler and Torin and I liked the message of the story about the different. I liked the unique psychological aspect (although many things did not make sense to me in it) and I liked the mystery and twists (although I guessed some of them pretty quickly).
But... the romance (especially the erotic parts) was too creepy and made me quite a bit uncomfortable - and I love creepy, but it was a different level of creepiness. 😬
It wasn't sexy, it wasn't touching, it wasn't romantic or sweet. It was just... CREEPY! 🙈
On the other hand, I finished the audio in less than 24 hours, so that means a lot. 💥💥💥

• I listened to the AUDIO version. 🎧

This book utterly captivated me! I have already found a book for my “Best of 2018” shelf, and I can honestly say not many books are going to beat this one! I unfortunately can’t say much about the story itself. It needs to be experienced going into it blindly... it truly does! I can say that this is a story that is unique, it has heart, and it will make you feel! These characters will burrow deep inside of you and won’t let go. It’s a book I will not ever forget, and I will be thinking about it for days.

I usually don’t like to recommend books to anyone for fear that they won’t i like it, and then I feel bad! But I highly recommend this one! I’m so glad that I read it, and now I have the challenge of trying to go to sleep!! My mind is going a mile a minute from all of the emotions I just went through while devouring this brilliant story!!!!

This book. OMG this book gutted me. I was definitely not in the right mindset to read this. Oh my heart.

I can always count on a captivating read when sitting down to read a K. Webster book. Yet when I sat down to read this one, I didn’t get up until I was dang near finished. I had to find out why, how, and what with this book and mostly I had to know how it ended. I needed to know these characters were okay or atleast if they were going to be okay.

I know there are 100’s of reviews out there and what I have to suggest to any of you that have not yet read this, don’t read any spoilers, and please if you are going to read it, don’t read ahead to find out who’s at the end. Live it as you read it, it’s definitely an experience you need to live with not knowing what’s coming.

It starts out with an abandoned baby and ends with my eyes red and puffy, yet with a huge smile and warm heart in tact. I had many emotions running around and inside me during reading this, so many mixed ones, with saying that, I did enjoy this one intensely. I was probably a bit more emotional reading this with other things going on, but I am so happy I did. It’s an experience I hope you give a chance too.

This book was so damn good. This book will bring out every emotion while you read it. The 3 main characters in this book are all so lovable and amazing in their own ways.

Tyler was so giving and caring. Everything he did was for those that he loved. He was one of the most selfless characters I’ve read about.

Casey had so much to give but needed the right people around her to give it. She needed safety and unconditional love.

Torin was misunderstood. I won’t say much more as he just needs to be experienced.

If a book makes me laugh, cry, get angry and smile like a crazy person, well that’s Book perfection to me.

2 " i hate love triangles" stars

They can be count as major spoiler!
You have been warned!!

As we know k.webster is always using dark, taboo and unique topics for her books and this time also she did'nt disappoint and went for the very sensitive and a topic that needs as much awareness as possible. i.e- AUTISM

the h is suffering from ADHD.

Our Hero- Torin is Autistic and 25 years old. He has no family left except his older 32 yrs brother Tyler.
They are crazy rich but alone and sad.

Now to not spoil the story too much i'll stop here...

Now i'll tell you why i gave this book the rating i gave-

Note- the rating is my personal opinion. The whole review is all about what i feel and i am sure you can feel different about it so don't let me stop you.if you feel like it go for it.

So there is a thing. I hate love triangles like really hate it.
They always make me hate the middle party because the whole point is them being confusing, indecisive assholes who can't even decide what they want..

Which here i felt the same for heroine...

She was constantly swinging between tyler and torin.

And the most annoying thing was casey and tyler's relationship was somehow reminding me of The Wild
See what happened was tyler kinda became the legal guardian of Casey and in the begining he also potrayed a fatherly figure and throughout the 50% of book casey was also claiming that she is seeing Tyler as big bro then in another moment she wants his hands on her body.
Told you- it was ANN-O-Y-ING...
And there was something worse

Tbh i hated the heroine so much that i have no words..

She knew Torin has autism. She knew he cared for her but nope she did'nt even made any effort to know him or even talk to him before her comfort was in danger. Then she goes and texts him and when the danger surpasses she goes with her fantasy life not making a single real effort to get to know torin.

And then After Tyler died she first tries to abandon Torin but when torin forces her to stay she is sleeping with him and now shez back to normal.

There is one more worse point of h related to her mother coming back but i am really tired now so if you are intrested you can ping me..

Coz i am so done with this book .I can write a real essay on what was wrong with this book each and every turn was so frustrating..

It was the worst read...i am so disapointed.

I don’t even know how to put into words, my love for “My Torin.” It’s a great read, and a romance that is not quite what you’re expecting when the story starts. All I can say is K Webster takes what convention claims is “normal” and ADDS to it every single time she writes a book. I may have started out thinking, “and this will work how?” But by the end I couldn’t imagine the love between the mains being any different. In “My Torin,” she gives a love story that most people don’t experience, may not understand, or have even considered the intricacies of before. It definitely pulls at all the right heartstrings. It’s so well written. The banter from the heroine is hilarious and relatable in so many ways. As emotional as this story is it’s also hot and fun!

All in all a good read. Another fantastic love story with the full circle story telling K Webster does the very best. There are some sensitive topics covered in this book, but nothing I would consider a trigger.

Oh My, I bloody adored this book like words cannot describe just how much this touched a nerve deep inside me.
Especially since I have experience with the subject in both my son and grandson.
This one was always going to be a topic close to my heart it was inevitable I’d fall in love with it really and I devoured every single word.

This is going to be short (well at least for me) and vague.
My advice here is to read this one completely blind just to get the whole experience and put to one side what you think you know about this author, this really was so different from her usual style and It wasn’t dark at all.
It was stripped back and emotional and took me on such a journey that I had tears dripping down my face.

It was also not graphic in terms of the content this is all about forging a connection, imperfect people and family.
It’s told from the 3 main characters POV’s brothers Tyler and Torin and then Casey who they take into there eccentric family as one of there own, recognising a kindred spirit in her, she just fits like a missing piece of the puzzle.
And even leaning towards a trope I usually avoid as it’s a pet hate of mine I could read this one again very easily, here it all just seemed to fit and it didn’t bother me at all.

And my god I was a mess this really did run the gauntlet in terms of my emotions they were all over the place with this one, I was a bloody wreck.
I especially liked how this tied everything up and how it all came full circle it seemed fitting.
And though the focus was totally on just the three main characters I never felt bored I was just so invested in there unfolding story.

I also loved the letter and the epilogue and this really was the icing for me.
Heartfelt beautiful and total acceptance it what I eventually took away from this one and this story was so bittersweet and as heartbreaking as it was also uplifting.
Totally recommend this 110% and Yep you do need to read this one blind, just dive in.

4 stars
Using her like a torch, I want to carry her throughout the house and light up every single dark part of my world. I want to fill it to the brim with her.

This was only my second K. Webster book, and let me tell you… it was a million times better for me than the first one I read. My Torin had a few things that kept it from being five stars from me, but I loved so much about it! I’m a sucker for emotional books and characters who have a struggle they overcome. The heroine and hero in this story both struggled with something. And they both were overcomers. This book has three narrators instead of the traditional two, but I don’t want to talk much about it because it’s a book that would be best read blind. It was intense, emotional, and unique.

Curiosity left me feeling depressed…

This review is a little spoilerish, proceed with caution.

I KNOW I’m supposed to take a step away from reality when reading, but sometimes it’s very hard to shut off my brain. My Torin left me a little unsettled. This story is filled with battles and at times I was shattered by the feelings it provoked. The cover caught my attention, the reviews were describing it as a beautiful story, and along with the blurb, my curiosity needed to be appeased. Maybe the beauty other readers found was in the survival of the heroine. It might have been beautiful, that the hero broke through some barriers that held him in isolation. I struggled to see the beauty through the windows. There were no windows.

I read a lot of different types of romance stories and I can appreciate the differences. I admit I’m a sucker for a happy ever after and I enjoy the bubbles of joy and heart-flutters that a good romance can provide. This romance left me dissatisfied because I felt that it should never have happened. A crack whore should not leave a baby abandoned. Men should not be able to sell off a foster child and get away with it. People should not be able to buy a person to fix a problem without explaining what the problem is first. I know these things happen in reality but it was confronting and I didn't enjoy the feelings it provoked.

This was my first story by K. Webster. Maybe, if I had read some of her previous books I would have been better prepared? I wouldn’t say this was a “dark” read or a “light” read. It would be easier to say that this is a story about finding love when you’re a freak, misfit or an odd end. My Torin deals with death, discrimination, fear and abuse. It makes you question how much is “OK” to put up with when the person hurting you has a reason. Does it make it OK?

Do not judge My Torin by my review alone. Check out other reviews because I’m seriously in the minority. The subject matter wasn’t appealing to me but I acknowledge that the writing, cover and blurb sucked me in from beginning to end.

This was so good I don't even know what to say! I friend recommended it and given I'm not a fan of dark and twisty and this author ain't afraid of going there I was rather leery to say the least. I'm so so glad I dived in though, I inhaled it in one sitting.

I went in blind, which is unusal for me. I tend to go to the far end of a fart to find out all I can before I start a book lol. This is definitely one of those that has way way more impact going in blind, even though I was a tad bit worried where the author was going to take the story at first.

It's one of those books that made me want to hug my kindle at times, made me cry ugly tears at others and kept me awake last night just thinking about it. It's a story that will stay with me for a while. When a book does that for me it's a total winner.

All the stars and my 2018 favourites shelf for this one. I freaking LOVED it!!

“I’m edgy and irritated and frantic.
I just need to breathelicktastetouchsmellfeel her.”

Wow! This is the reason why I will always read a K Webster story. You can continually expect the unexpected; each story is completely different and is never the same. Her writing is positively flawless and the plot and characters have the ability to pull you in from the first word read. She is a true talent and this is by far my favorite story of hers. My Torin was a heartbreakingly beautiful and powerful story that I know will stay with me forever.

Casey Doe was abandoned by her crack addicted mother and as a result, Casey was brought into this world addicted to the same drugs her mother was taking whilst pregnant. Casey was raised by the system, moving from foster home to foster home and never really understanding the concept of family, love and warmth.

Casey felt unloved, unwanted and happiness was just a pipe dream that Casey would never have the chance to experience. Being born addicted to cocaine and abandoned, what chance did poor Casey Doe really have in this world?

“The feeling is maddening. I like the static that Casey brings. Soft, white noise. Soothing. The chaos brewing inside of me gnaws at my inner self. Reminds him that this body is a cruel warden. A punisher of my spirit.”

That is until a wealthy man with sad eyes and a beautiful smile offers to whisk Casey away from the despair that she lives each day. He will give her anything her heart desires in exchange for one thing, his brother Torin. I’m not going tell you anything about Torin, because trust me when I say he is one character you have to experience for yourself.

My Torin was such a remarkable love story and unlike anything I have read to date. I went into this read completely blind and I urge anyone who reads it to do the same. It was sad and heartbreaking, but also beautiful and inspiring.

Every once in a while, if you’re lucky enough, you come across a book that has the ability to move you beyond recognition, something so brilliant, flawless and unforgettable. This was that book for me and I know it will continue to stay with me long after I read that last word.

4.5 "Casey-Casey" Stars!

As an infant, Casey Doe was left abandoned at a local church. Over the years, Casey learned to be self-sufficient and had a plan once she turned eighteen but fate had a different idea when a handsome stranger appears to offer her a better life. Suspicious of his kindness, Casey is also intrigued but she isn't prepared for what she actually finds.

"She's not someone who fits inside a mold. People like her are rare. People like her deserve to find others who share that same buzz."

Tyler Kline is a successful business man that challenges fate. He is protective and caring and has unconditional love for his brother, Torin. These brothers share such a tight bond and are family through and through. Adjusting to Casey and her own quirks, Tyler and Torin have fundamental similarities but they are also very different in unique ways.

"Using her like a torch, I want to carry her throughout the house and light up every single dark part of my world. I want to fill it to the brim with her."

Told in multiple POV, what ensues is a character driven plot that explores the difficulties in life and how people deal with such adversity. There are heartbreaking moments but there is also hope and the ability to shine outside of the norm. Seeing such beauty in simple gestures and deep love in sacrifice, makes this story everlasting.

"Loving someone isn't something you're supposed to shield yourself from. You're supposed to find it and snatch it up, sweetheart."

As the plotline comes full circle, the points along the way are steeped in a wide array of emotion from fear, acceptance and love. With the main characters being so different, their personalities complimented each other. While the Kline brothers absolutely broke my heart, they were also able to pick up the pieces with Casey showing her resilience and deep love for family.

My Torin is a story that is steeped in emotion and the unfairness of life at times, but more importantly, it doesn't matter if one's happiness doesn't fit in the confines of what is expected. This book would appeal to those who want to take a memorable journey and come out stronger at the end.

If you judge how much I liked a book by the number of notes and highlights, I must have really liked the book!

So why not 5 stars? It might be 4.5 stars. It was close.

But for one single thing: the triangle.

description

One of my absolute most hated tropes is the love triangle. After some researching on her other books, I realize that this author likes to write triangles. Damnit! Guess this is the one and only book I will be reading by her.

When I read romance, I want to believe in TRUE LOVE, DESTINED LOVE, ONE AND ONLY kind of love.

And tho the MCs were each other's "firsts," it would likely not have been this way if

description

So, this is really the crux of my issue with this entire book. Some readers were bothered by the but I didn't read it that way.

Torin is like an animal. In so many ways, he's just a very pure male. He's instinctual and when he wants a female, he wants her. He doesn't know how to be all romantic and foreplay etc. He bites and he ruts. Like an animal. So what happened was simply him being him, giving into instincts as old as time.

Casey's love for both men was disturbing to me. I'm aware this happens in real life, but I personally don't empathize at all with it. And I certainly don't like to read about it in my romances. I felt like

description

So that's why the 1 star off. Not even 4.5 stars. If the author didn't capture Torin and Tyler so well in this book and make me fall in love with them, esp. Torin, I'd rate this a lot lower for the triangle alone.

Casey Doe had a hard life since the day she was born. Unwanted and unloved, she finally had her freedom within grasp. But just as she thought her life was on the right path, it veered off course into uncharted territories.

I started this book blind and that's the best way to enjoy the story so I won't go into detail in my review. I had high hope for this one and I'm glad it met my expectations.

A rich prince, I see. But fairy tales always have a villain.

I sympathized with Casey's hardship in life. She was lonely and scared. But while I understood her age and emotional needs, there were also times I wanted to strangle her and slap some senses into her.

He’s always smiling and it reaches his eyes. Behind the smiles, though, he harbors a sadness that seeps down to the marrow of my bones.

I absolutely adored the other two main characters. They were similar yet completely different. Each of them had their own strengths and weaknesses and both of them had their own struggles to overcome. It was hard not to feel protective and root for them.

I liked how the story offered something different. The dynamic between the characters was interesting and I like how readers were presented with certain aspect of the story that gave it heart.

Beneath his hard, gritty surface is a man worth loving. A man who wants to love so badly in return.

My Torin is a tale of belonging and unconditional love. It would appeal to fans of unconventional love story packed with emotions.

Two princes. One castle. I've died and gone to princess heaven. There's a villain, though. I just haven't discovered him yet.

S-P-E-E-C-H-L-E-S-S!

And this is why I want to marry K. Webster! My Torin is an extraordinary book, uniquely written and perfectly crafted that pulled my heartstrings, made me emotional and had me on roller coaster of emotions. I was in awe as always because she never fails to deliver. My Torin is EPICALLY written! The FEELS...it's EVERYTHING and MORE!

You know that old adage, Expect the unexpected? This is the right definition of My Torin. I never expected anything less from Kristy but she delivered more than we can imagine. I was reading this book with my emotions all over the place. Start to finish was a journey that etched in my heart and soul. I never really expected how this book turned out to be. It was amazing, stunning, mesmerizing and above all, worthy to be read, to be pondered on and to be spread. It was unlike any other K Webster book yet one that will stay with me for a long period. My Torin is such a beautiful, heart wrenching and inspiring tale of souls who found love unconventionally yet unconditionally. *sigh

Casey, Tyler and Torin are the characters you want to love wholeheartedly. Each had a special place in my heart and each of them inspired me. I love their journey and I love how their love story turned out to be. It may have been heart wrenching but know that it was something you want to read and hold on and then never let go. It was that beautiful and soul searing and I appreciate how K managed to write this tale that made an impact to everybody who reads it. Perfectly written, well researched, brilliant imagination plus a heart and passion- that's what this book is composed of.

Overall, I highly recommend this book. This is a definite must read and worthy to be one-clicked. The journey I had with this book was spectacular. I was allured to the words and lines of this poignant tale that even conveying emotions into words seems to be so hard. Trust me, you'll love My Torin as much as I did. The connection you'll experience as you go on with this ride will be powerful and intense. But know this, at the end of your journey with them, your heart will feel so full as if it's gonna burst. That's what happened to me. And with all those overwhelming emotions I found love, unconditionally.

Kudos K. Webster! As always, you blew me away.

One word to describe this book: beautiful.

This story touched me deeply. I cried, laughed and swooned. Tyler was so amazing. Such a wonderful brother, friend and son. Casey was great too. I really liked her. Torin, he has such a beautiful soul you can’t help but love him. All three of them are characters I’ll never forget.

I am sorry if this review is so short, but as I am writing this I have tears in my eyes. I don’t have words to express how this book made me feel, but what I know for certain is that love (in all of its facets) is the most powerful thing and this book is a great example of that.

Its a very special story I’ll keep close to my heart. I highly recommend it to everyone ❤️

I have mixed feelings about this story. For the most part I enjoyed it a lot, it is unique and well crafted. But somewhere near the last quarter things got a little cringe-y for me.
I loved all the characters, Tyler, Torin and Casey, I felt their pain and their joy, how they found each other and the family they formed.
If you choose to read this book, whether you'll agree with the author and her choices or not, one thing is for sure. You will FEEL EVERYTHING. This story is INTENSE.

OMG! For the first 60% of the book my only thought was "this book is weird, really weird". But it all changed when I was geeting close to the end. A lot of cruel events opened my eyes.
Even though the main-main character was Torin, my favourite one was Tyler. I loved that man! And my heart broke when he had to go through all those problems. I wanted Casey to be with him.
However, Torin was so smart and hot! His condition didn't matter when on the inside he was who he was. We all might have misconceptions and this is why we should never judge a book by its cover. Or in this case, a man after his behaviour.
Casey-Casey, on the other hand, was a little bit too naive. She trusted a man right after meeting him. She felt at home too soon. And she received a fucking 100.000 $ car in her first day with the brothers. Who the hell buys such an expensive car to someone they barely met?? (The story is longer, but when I read this, it seemed so fucking unreal.)
I have no idea how to rate this book. It was both crushing and interesting.
P. S. I loved those 3 cats! 😻

Maybe it's just me but I didn't really like this...
Yes I cried, yes I got creeped out... And yes I sort of fell in love until it came crashing down.. and there was coming back up... I'm sorry but no..no..no.. this just wasn't it for me.
