GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WGFL) — It might have been the best thing to come out of Hurricane Irma, but now state officials say motorists' two week free-ride on Florida toll roads is coming to an end.
The state suspended tolls Sept. 5 as it prepared for the Cat 5 hurricane to help make evacuations and providing supplies easier.
The state announced Tuesday all tolls, except for one, will be re-instated at 12:01 a.m. Thursday. Tolls will remain suspended on the Homestead Extension of Florida's Turnpike south of Interchange with SR 874 to help Monroe County residents with recovery efforts.
