                                        CITY NEWS UPDATE
Safety Forces Night
On August 1, 2017 the City hosted its 4th Annual Cleveland Heights Safety Forces Night. More than 200 residents turned out to meet and interact with some of the officers of the Cleveland Heights Police and Fire Departments. Guests were able to take an interactive look at the tools and equipment used by both departments. Information on personal and fire safety was
provided. Police vehicles, K9 Units, fire trucks and ambulances were on hand to be explored by children and adults alike.

Engaging the citizens of Cleveland Heights remains a priority for the Cleveland Heights Police and Fire Department. Every day they work to protect the lives, property and rights of all our residents and businesses. They believe that an informed public requires two-way communications and are dedicated to being open and available to the community.

Top of the Hill Community Meeting
The City of Cleveland Heights' Top of the Hill project, located at the intersection of Euclid Heights Boulevard and Cedar Road, is moving ahead in the development process. City Council
approved legislation to authorize the City to negotiate a memorandum of understanding, or MOU, with development partner Flaherty & Collins Properties. Terms have been agreed to by both parties and the MOU was fully executed on July 18.

The project now advances to the negotiation of a formal development agreement between the parties.  A development agreement is much more detailed than an MOU and establishes the specific elements of the project as well as the process the development will follow towards final approval.  A public meeting to update the community, answer questions and receive input from residents on this project will be held on Tuesday, September 19 at 7 pm at the Cleveland Heights Community Center.  Community engagement is a key element for a successful development project and input from citizens will be a vital ingredient in the final development agreement for this project. Anyone interested in this important project is encouraged to attend this community meeting.

The Top of the Hill development is expected to consist of a mixed-use project incorporating residential, retail, office components, a hotel and a parking garage.

More information regarding the Top of the Hill development can be found on the City's website.
