EUGENE — Oregon was without two of its biggest offensive weapons for a second straight week.
Starting X receiver Juwan Johnson and tight end Cam McCormick, who both missed last week’s season opener, both did not play in Oregon’s 77-6 thrashing of Nevada at Autzen Stadium Saturday night.
On Wednesday, Oregon coach Mario Cristobal said it was a “toss-up” whether either would play this week.
Johnson had a noticeable but slight limp and was dressed in sweats on Oregon’s sideline at AT&T Stadium. McCormick went through pre-game warmups but did not play in the game.
The Ducks were also without redshirt-freshman receiver J.J. Tucker, who did not play last week, and are already without Brenden Schooler (right foot), Mycah Pittman (right shoulder), JR Waters (right foot) and Lance Wilhoite (hamstring).
Oregon’s only healthy scholarship receivers are Johnny Johnson III, Jaylon Redd, Bryan Addison and Isaah Crocker. Spencer Webb and Daewood Davis, who moved to cornerback during the offseason, and Patrick Herbert are working with the receivers to replenish depth due to the injuries.
