Phoenix experiences third-highest construction job gains

The Phoenix metro area gained 11,000 construction jobs between April 2017 and April 2018, despite difficulty within the industry finding qualified workers, according to the Associated General Contractors of America.

The Phoenix, Mesa and Scottsdale area was one of 256 metro areas that experienced construction employment growth, according to the study. Phoenix experienced the third-highest increase in the sector, after Dallas and Houston. The 11,000 jobs in Phoenix represented a 10 percent increase over the yearlong period.
